Names
Nope, this is not a new chapter, just a headcanon of mine that I posted on my tumblr account. I don't believe the parents of the EAH teens' real names are Snow White, Evil Queen, Cinderella, Bad Wolf, and so on. I think those are just titles they receive after they sign the Storybook of Legends and fulfill their destines. These are just headcanons of their real names and my reason behind them.
Snow White - Snapdragon, based on the real apple and because we first see her cartoon debut in Dragon Games. I was going to name her something related to snow like : Flurry, Frostine, or Icyln. But, when I found out about the snapdragon apple I thought it was perfect!
Evil Queen - Eagle, okay before anybody complains it's Mira hear me out. I really doubt the evil Queen's real name is Mira on the grounds that : 1. if Mira was her real name Raven would've been 'My mother's real name is Mira' when introduced to Mira Shards. 2. Raven, Evil Queen, and possibly the Queen family have bird like fashion, so it would make sense that her name is bird themed. 3. Eagles are usual used as symbols of freedom, but they're also birds of prey so you know irony.
Good King - Gennady, which means noble and generous, which the Good King is, plus it started with a 'G'.
White King (Snow White's husband) - Aubin, which means white, light, and blond. I thought it was a good match since Apple did inherit her blonde hair from her father.
Cinderella - Dustelle, I was going with the cinder theme in Cinderella and ash in Ashlynn. So I dust would be a perfect name for a Cinderella.
King Ella ( Cinderella's husband) - Clay, I was originally going to go with Dustin or Dusty, but I already gave Cinderella's real name to be Dustelle. Since the Ella family has earth themed names going on I went with Clay.
Fairy Godmother - Faye, which means fairy. Originally I was gonna have her name start with a 'G' because her full name is Mrs. Goodfairy and she's a fairy godmother, but nothing seemed to fit. Since Farrah and Faybelle names meant fairy I just went with it.
Sleeping Beauty- Sweet Briar Rose, also know as eglantine is a heirloom rose. I believe the Beauty family names are rose theme and on rare occasions the Sleep Beauty's are named after sleep/dream themes.
Beauty - Peace Rose, which is a real life rose with pink edges and golden yellow in the center. Seeing how Rosabelle is an activist who's trying to change the world for the better it would make sense that her mother would be named Peace.
Beast Beauty- Wilbur, which means wild boar, brilliant, and dearly loved. In some Beauty and the Beast stories the Beast has been described as looking like a boar, lion, wolf, or any other animal until Beauty's love broke the spell.
Pinocchio - Pine Oak, this is really based off a old tv show I watched as a child called 'Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child' where Will Smith voiced the Pinocchio character known as Pinoak. Also, if EAH ever does come back Pinocchio will be voiced by Will Smith that's the law!
Red Riding Hood - Ruby, because it's a shade of red like Cerise's name. Also in the show RWBY there's a character by the name of Ruby Rose who based off Red Riding Hood.
Mr. Badwolf - Breaker, which meant aggressive. I wanted a tough for name for Mr. Badwolf.
Huntsman - Hunt! Because why not he named his son Hunter Huntsman. I'm guessing the family is either bad at names or they really wanted to emphasize they're hunters.
Mrs. Huntsman - Terra, meaning earth. I wanted to give Mrs. Huntsman a earth theme name like Hunter's little sister's name is Ferny. I couldn't think of any names that would fit so I picked Terra.
Candy Witch - Candy Breadhouse, yes I know it's bad/lazy! I was thinking of naming her after an ingredient like her daughter, Ginger. Or something candy relatedlike : Cocoa, Peppermint, or Vanilla. After some thinking Candy seemed to be the perfect fit since she does make candy along with other sweets.
Mad Hatter - Hatthew a mixture of Hat and Matthew. I think the Hatter family would have names related to madness, hats, andtea parties. His middle is also ukulele.
Alice Liddel -Alison, meaning noble and exalted, I believe after her adventures she befriended everyone in Wonderland and moved there. I think that's why the Wonderlanders are so close with each other.
Queen of Hearts - Victoria, after Queen Victoria. I think Lizzie's name is based of Queen Elizabeth so most of the Heart queens are based off of real queens names. Fun Fact - Queen Victoria enjoyed the Alice 's Adventures in Wonderland and ask Lewis Carroll for another book (info here).
King of Hearts - Hugh, meaning heart, mind, and spirit. I think it fits perfectly since in the original story the King of Hearts would pardon whoever the Queen of Hearts wanted to have executed.
White Rabbit - Melvin, which was Mel Blanc's real name. I didn't really have any idea what his real name would be. Since Blanc is his last name and I loved watching Looney Tunes as a child, I just went with it.
Red Queen - Mary, after Mary 1 of England (aka Bloody Mary). Like I said with the Queen of Hearts I'm using names based off real queens.
White Queen - Anne, after Anne Boleyn. I really couldn't think of any other queens to name her after so I picked one of the most famous ones. Plus the whole being co-ruler with another queen who threatens others with beheading them seemed like an oddball pairing.
Cheshire Cat - Katherine or Catherine, the names mean pure (I don't know if the Cheshire Cat would hate or love her name due to how ironic it is for her). I can't decide on which one to go with. Their cat pun names, Kitty's name already starts with a 'K', heck, she probably uses both spellings to mess with people.
Dark Fairy - Darcie Thorn, meaning dark, the perfect name for a dark fairy. For extra irony in the books she wears white because light has no side. So it's a light and dark situation.
Goldilocks - Goldie, meaning a person with blond(e) hair. I wasn't really expecting much just a name meaning gold or yellow.
King Charming - Dashing, I do not believe Lance Charming is the Charming children's dad. There are a lot of prince charming in the world of Ever After. Heck, Charming is probably an average last name in their world! Plus the main Charming family names started with As, Bs, Cs, Ds, Es, Fs, Gs no Ls yet.
Queen Charming - Marie, after Marie Antoinette the last queen of France. I think Queen Charming is where Darling gets her rococo/ Marie Antoinette fashion.
Rapunzel - Violet, meaning purple. I just picked a flower name for her, plus Holly and Poppy's color scheme does have purple in it.
Robin Hood - Roadrunner, I think they just name themselves after birds.
Maid Marian - Martha, meaning the lady or the mistress. In the book Maid Marian was adventures and only acts ladylike in front of Headmaster Grimm so she can keep her job.
Pied Piper - Alto, meaning high and elevated, it's also a singer's voice range.
Little Bo Peep - Lila, meaning night and play. I just wanted a name that sounded close to Lily.
Swan Queen/ Odette - Countess, a noblewoman with the status of an earl or count. Duchess's name is a status lower than a princess, so the Swan family is mostly named after ranks.
Evil Step-Librarians - I think I'm gonna call them Stephanie and Sissy. Get it? Step Sis?… Whatever.
Little Mermaid and her king - From the EAH wiki pages (since I haven't read the book yet) their names are Pearl and Phillip. Those two having actual names proves my theory.
Sea Witch - Aquamarine, means a precious gem stone, water, and of the sea.
King O' Hair - Auburn, meaning reddish-brown, plus that's Poppy and Holly's hair color.
King Beauty - Diccin, meaning dreamer. I tried looking for names similiar to wake up, rise up, and awaken, but none seem to fit.
King Swan - Derek, meaning people ruler. Not gonna lie I got the idea from the Swan Princess movie. I used to watch when I was little and it's passed on Swan Lake.
Grandma Swan - Nina, meaning little girl, I chose this name after the main character from Black Swan since Swan Lake is in the movie.
Madame Dancer - Josephine, meaning God will increase. I based the name after performer, secret agent, and activist Josephine Baker (plus it started with a J like Justine's).
Snow King and Queen - Warrin meaning cold months and Lucia meaning light (Also there's a Saint Lucia who is celebrated during the Winter time).
Hansel and Gretel - Hans meaning God is gracious and Gertrude meaning strength of a spear. Not much just fond some names close to the originals.
Momma and Papa Bear - Ursula and Bernard both meanings have bear in them.
Geppetto - Garrick, meaning oak tree grove and spear king. I wanted something wood related that also started with a G.
Grandma - Garnet, meaning a dark red gem-stone and pomegranate. I think the Hoods name themselves after shades of red or anytjing cloak related.
Narrators - Finally the Narrators of EAH aka Brooke Pages parents! This was a toughie because I didn't know if I should make their names puns, based off real people, or something book related but here we go. Teller (Male Narrator) meaning storyteller and Saga (Female Narrator) meaning story. Seeing as they named their daughter Brooke as a pun on book page, I had to do something related to storytelling.
I hope everyone enjoyed the name headcanons. The next chapter will take awhile sine I'm visiting my sister ,rereading / watching the series, and etc. But, it will be up soon. Bye.
