The Troop came riding through the air on the vehicle and came to a desert with tall rocks shaped like spires.
"This almost looks like the Sahara Desert," Jake said. "But what are all these holes in the ground?"
"They're tunnels that lead down to the nests of Monster 309, Mongolian Death worms," Zeon said.
"It's a good thing that they're down there and not up here," Kirby said.
Just then, a rumble came from underneath them.
A huge blast of sand came shooting out of the ground right next to them.
"What was that?" Hayley asked.
"Sand geyser," Zeon said. "They're pretty common around deserts like these; they're even strong enough to knock a flying dragon out of the sky."
Before anyone else could say anything, another sand geyser hit the left wing of the vehicle.
The vehicle spun around while everyone inside tried to hold on tight.
"Brace yourselves!" Zeon shouted.
The vehicle crashed onto one of the rocks and began to slow down before sliding off the edge.
"Is everyone okay back there?" Zeon asked, looking a little dizzy.
"I think so," Hayley said trying to stand up. They all opened the door and walked onto the rock.
"Man, it's hot out here," Jake said. Zeon walked over to the wing to see how the damage.
"It doesn't look serious," he said. "It'll be a quick fix, but one of the thrusters from the back has fallen off from the crash. Can you help me find it?"
"Alright," Cadence said.
They spread out and looked around the rock for it, but they couldn't find it.
Then, Kirby shouted that he found it, pointing out on the sand.
"That's just great," Hayley said. "We're stranded on this rock, and the thruster is down on the sand in a desert full of Mongolian Death worms."
"Don't worry," Jake said. "We'll get it back up here; we just need a plan."
"I have some thick metal wire that's supposed to be indestructible in the back," Zeon said. "We can use it to pull it up."
"So, Kirby and I will go down there and wrap the rope around it while the rest of you pull it up," Jake said.
"But we can't move around on the sand," Kirby said. "We will make too many vibrations that will attract the worms."
"We just need to creep around the thruster very slowly so that we won't make any vibrations," Jake said.
Zeon opened a chamber on the side of the vehicle and pulled out the metal rope attached to a winch.
He lowered Jake and Kirby down slowly.
They both held onto the rope and slowly slid down the side of the rock.
"Now, move very slowly around it," Jake said.
"Got it," Kirby whispered as he began to move cautiously.
They carefully lifted up the thruster to wrap the rope underneath it and slowly set it back down to wrap the rest around it.
Once it was fully wrapped up, they both gave it a big tug, and Zeon started to pull up the thruster.
Jake and Kirby held onto the bottom of the rope so that they could be brought back up too.
The thruster scraped against the side of the rock face. One of the rocks was chipped off and fell onto the sand.
"That's not good," Jake said.
A rumble came from one of the holes, and five Mongolian Death worms erupted out of the hole.
They dove down into the sand and made their way towards Jake and Kirby.
They burst out of the sand and started to screech at the two of them.
"Help us down here!" Jake shouted.
One of the worms rose up and was about to strike.
Before it could make contact, it was hit with a blast of electricity. It dove back down into the sand.
Hayley was holding a volt cannon, and she blasted the other worms with it.
The worms dove back down into the sand and burrowed back into the hole they came out from.
"Thanks for the save," Kirby said as they both came up with the thruster.
"That's what we do," Hayley said.
"Hope I got some good shots of that," Kirby said.
"What?" Jake asked.
"I had my camera, and I got some good timing shots of the worms."
After an hour of sweating in the heat of the sun, Zeon fixed the vehicle, so the team climbed on and took off.
"That was crazy," Kirby said. "Let's just hope that we don't have to see those worms again."
Neither of them noticed the baby Death worm on the left wing.
