On the morning of their twelfth day in the monster dimension, the team was disturbed by a growl under the boat.
They walked out to find the source of the noise.
There was something huge, dark, and serpentine circling around them.
A green hump then rose out of the water as a large tail fluke arose out.
"What is this thing?" Hayley asked.
"I think I might know what it is," Zeon said. "Monster 280, a Sea Serpent."
The serpent's humps kept on rising out of the water, but it dove back down with its tail slapping the water.
"I think it's gone now," Jake said.
Just then, the serpent rose out of the water.
It had a glowing lure on its head, two fin-like ears, two arms with three claws on each hand, and a mouth loaded with sharp teeth.
The skin under its jaw began to inflate.
"Take cover!" Zeon shouted.
Everyone ran inside the boat right before the serpent blasted a large amount of water at the window.
Steam then flowed through the cracks on the door.
"That was close," Cadence said. "A sea serpent can spray scalding hot water that could disintegrate your skin."
"I had no idea that a sea serpent could do that," Jake said.
"Well, not to mention the deadly venom in its fangs, it could freeze you with fear with a single glance of its frightening red eyes, and its powerful constrictor squeeze that can crush a ship," Cadence said.
All of a sudden, the boat shook as the serpent wrapped itself around it.
"Speak of the devil," Kirby said.
"Why is it even attacking us?" Jake asked.
"It can smell humans in here," Zeon said. "Even if you cover your scents in the scent shower, it will still attack since it knows that you are humans."
Before the serpent could crush the ship, something grabbed its head and pulled it down.
The serpent let go of the boat, so the team went outside to see what happened.
The serpents head rose out of the water as it growled at another dark figure under the water.
The figure then rose out of the water; it was a lot bigger than the sea serpent.
The creature revealed to resemble a giant yellow octopus with blue stripes, six red eyes, eight suckered arms, two pink tentacles, and a huge mouth filled with sharp teeth on its head.
"That's Monster 083, a Kraken," Zeon said.
The giant cephalopod then let out a powerful roar that blew the boat far away from the two sea monsters.
The two monsters began to attack one another.
"What's going on?" Kirby asked as he took a few photos of the fight.
"The kraken and sea serpent are enemies," Zeon said. "It's almost like they're both trying to prove that one of them is the top sea monster to ever exist."
"But why would the kraken be up on the surface?" Hayley asked. "Doesn't it usually dwell deep under the water?"
"I guess that the kraken thought that we were prey, and it came up to attack us but saw the sea serpent," Zeon said.
"Let's get out of here before we really become food," Kirby said.
Zeon started up the engine, and they drove off away from the two titanic beasts.
It wasn't too long before something huge appeared on the horizon.
Hayley pulled out a pair of binoculars and peered through them to see what it was.
"That looks like an island," she said. "Let's relax there for a bit before we move on."
"Good idea," Jake said. "We deserve a rest at a beach for a while without any monsters interrupting."
The boat came to the shallow edge of the island, but something burst out of the water and damaged the propeller on the boat.
The boat made it to shore, and Zeon jumped down to have a look.
"A blade from the propeller has been dent," Zeon said. "Looks like we're going to be here for a little while."
"What marooned us?" Cadence asked.
A blast of water then shot out from under the surface.
"Some kind of water geyser," Kirby said.
"No, this isn't an island at all," Zeon said.
"It's not," the others said all at once.
"This is Monster 1,327, an Aspidochelone," Zeon said.
"An aspi-what?" Jake asked.
"The aspidochelone is an island of a monster," Zeon said. "They have shells on their backs that act as an island while they gain nutrients from the plants growing on their backs as they photosynthesize."
"So, this time we're not being intruded by a monster but rather on one," Jake said.
"Would this monster try to do anything to us?" Kirby asked Zeon.
"No, aspidochelones are docile," Zeon said. "They do nothing but swim through warm currents."
"How long are we going to be on the back of this creature?" Hayley asked.
"Well, the damage can be fixed in a few days," Zeon said. "But in the meantime, you guys can have some fun. I'm sure that there aren't any other monsters here, and we'll keep on going through air travel once the vehicle is fixed."
"Okay," Cadence said. "Anyone want to go exploring?"
"Alright," Jake said. "Let's go."
The four of them took off into the jungles to see what else they could find.
