In Wahid's new room…
It was a restless sleep for the poor boy.
Wahid looked to the ceiling of his room in the palace as he recounted everything that had happened.
Wahid followed his dad and the woman he saved as they managed to escape the angry merchant.
Most urchins would avoid that vendor for good reasons, known for losing a hand and more for stealing from him. Wahid was happy to make that jerk made as they made way with lots of his stuff, some got lost as passerby had their share. Well, at least they had dinner and breakfast for a while and his dad seemed very happy to be with the weird lady they saved. She seemed really nice, but something was off with her.
"I wanted to thank you for stopping that man." She thanked the pair as Aladdin blushed a bit at the face she showed.
"It was the least I can do. That jerk had it coming, for all those times he scared Wahid." Aladdin grinned as he got the poles ready.
"He does like to make threats when urchins come around," Wahid answered as the woman gasped at the boy's word.
"That's horrible. Threatening children like that." She gasped in fright.
"He never goes through with it. Only to adults, he just makes threat to the kids until they run away as he's waving his knife like this." The boy answered as he mimed the merchant while the monkey laughed a bit.
…
"Wow. You are so cool, Lady! I've only seen my dad do that on his first try!" Wahid marveled at the young woman.
"You're dad?" The mystery woman wondered as he knelt down to his height.
"Yeah, I adopted Wahid. Come on, I want to show you something." Aladdin explained as the girl followed him while Abu hopped on Wahid's shoulder.
Abu squeaked in jealous claims as he mimicked the woman.
"Give her a chance. I think she's awesome and maybe she can be my mom. Fingers crossed." Wahid hoped as the monkey could not believe the child.
…
"THERE YOU ARE!"
Wahid gasped as the guards came into their home!
"THEY'RE AFTER ME! THEY'RE AFTER YOU!?" They gasped as Wahid hid behind his father in fear.
"Dad, why are they here? What do we do?" Wahid wondered as Aladdin was trying to think up a plan.
"Oh, my father must have-."
"Do you trust me?" Aladdin interrupted offering his hand while holding Wahid up in one arm.
"What?"
"Do you trust me?"
"…Yes."
"THEN JUMP!"
They leaped out of the building and onto the soft cushioning below!
"You okay, Wahid?" Aladdin questioned the boy as he looked for injuries.
"Y-yeah, I'm okay."
They tried to run as Razoul was waiting for them. Abu tried to help but was flung away as Aladdin was captured and sentenced to the Dungeon.
"Dad, no!" Wahid pleaded as the woman rushed towards them.
"Let him go!" she ordered the captain of the guard, who only laughed.
"Look at this, men. A street mouse." He laughed as he shoved her away.
"Let him go, by order of the princess." She demanded as she revealed who she was, then the laughter stopped.
"P-Princess Jasmine." They bowed as they forced Aladdin to bow with him.
"The princess?" Aladdin, Wahid, and Abu in a pot gasped.
…
"Wahid, you shouldn't be out here alone. Come on, you need to come with me until we can have your father released." Jasmine advised.
"Y-yes Ma'am." He nodded as he took her hand, not knowing what to expect.
…
"Jafar!" She shouted in rage as Jafar looked a little spooked.
"Oh, princess." He bowed and touched the wall as if to hide something from the Princess, "How may I be of help?"
He then spotted the boy.
"And who is this... child?"
"He is the son of the boy you imprisoned. The guards told me you took him away on your orders!" Jasmine accused as Wahid glared at the bearded man.
"Where's my dad, you crook!" Wahid demanded as he charged at him but was stopped by Jasmine.
"Oh, your father appointed me of keeping Agrabah safe, the boy was a criminal." Jafar smoothly, ignoring the child.
"What was his crime?" Jasmine demanded with her hands on her hips.
"Why, kidnapping the princess of course." He answered her as Wahid looked outraged by that accusation.
"My dad would never!"
"He didn't kidnap me! I ran away!" Jasmine explained as Jafar gasped a little.
"Oh, this is such a great error. I seemed to have misunderstood. If I had known! Oh my." Jafar uttered.
"What are you talking about?" Wahid asked, afraid to do so.
"Sadly, the boy's sentence was already carried out."
"What sentence?"
"Death. By beheading."
…
"Hello there, Little One." He greeted the boy gently, "You must be the young child my daughter is so fond of."
Wahid sniffed and nodded his head.
"I am so sorry for what happened. There has been a great injustice and it is something I cannot ignore." Sultan.
"What can you do? I'm all alone and my dad is gone!" Wahid cried as he curled into himself.
The sultan then pressed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Young Wahid, we will not through you out and you do need a family." The sultan began, "We took that from you from an error of judgment, and only we must repay you. You will be adopted as my Grandson and this palace will forever be your home."
Wahid sniffed as he looked at the old man.
"We cannot be the family you lost, but I promise to take good care of you. You will be loved here, and I swear I will speak to my advisor about this." He promised as the boy hugged him.
Wahid frowned at those memories as he missed his father and Abu dearly.
They were killed because a princess decided to run away, and that stupid advisor jumped the desert before even figuring out what happened. He was all alone, adopted by the family that took him away. The Sultan promised to have him raised and treated like a prince for the mistake of his advisor, but he didn't know if the old man will live up to his promise. So far it seems like it, he even outfitted his room with toys and trinkets.
He has everything he dreamed of, yet he was more miserable than ever.
"Dad… why did you have to be taken?" Wahid whispered to himself.
He soon heard a knock at the door as Princess Jasmine came in.
"Hey there, Wahid. I thought I should check up on you. Are you settling in, okay?" Jasmine wondered as Wahid turned away.
"Fine. Just fine." Wahid sneered at the princess as his face held a glare.
Her own face shifted to the guilt of unintentionally orphaning the poor boy.
"Wahid, I am so sorry for what happened. If I knew this would happen… I promise you won't ever be alone, and you will be well taken care of. You will have a family again."
"I-I don't think I can forgive you, yet."
"I know and you have every right to be angry with me. But I promise Jafar will be gone when I am queen." She promised the boy.
"Princess Jasmine, Prince… Wahid, the sultan wishes to speak with you." A servant informed the pair.
In the throne room…
Wahid was surprised that he was invited to watch the leader of Agrabah was scolding the royal advisor for killing his father.
"…Jafar, this is an outrage! Not only have your actions resulted in the death of an innocent, but you have orphaned this poor young boy, who is now indoctrinated into the royal family! If it wasn't for your years of service… Next time you speak to me of the affairs of the prisoners before they are beheaded!" He ordered the man with authoritative anger in his voice.
Wahid was hoping that Jafar would be beheaded too for what he did to Aladdin.
"It was a great error of judgment on my behalf, it will not happen again." He promised as the boy glared at him.
"Jasmine, Wahid," The Sultan began as he grabbed their hands gently and the hand of the advisor, "Jafar, can we put this ugly business behind us and hopefully move forward."
"I only wish to serve the royal crown, including its newest member." Jafar smiled that scared Wahid.
"At least something good comes for me being forced to marry. When I am queen, I will have the power to get rid of you!" Jasmine threatened the man.
"And I'll be there watching and laughing!" Wahid added as he turned away from the man with Jasmine.
The Sultan then ran after them for the topic of arranged marriage for Jasmine and education for Wahid.
"If only I had gotten that lamp!" Jafar snarled.
"I will have the power to get rid of you! And I'll be there watching and laughing!" Iago mimicked the two voices then growling, "I can't believe we have to keep kissing up to that chump, the chump daughter and now the chump street rat for the rest of our lives!"
Jafar then walked to the balcony watching the three.
"No, just until she finds a chump husband, then she'll have us banished." Jafar informed then gasped at another thought, "Or beheaded."
The parrot and the advisor cringed that the outcome.
"Wait, what if you were the chump husband?"
"What?" Jafar sneered at his pet.
"Okay, okay, marry the princess, then you can become the Sultan," Iago suggested as Jafar grinned.
"Marry the shrew… I become Sultan and the dear will have marriage."
"Marriage, yes! Then we drop Papa-in-law, the Little Woman, and Street Rat Junior… off a cliff." Iago concluded as he mimicked the action.
"Oh Iago, I love how your twisted little mind works!"
They both wickedly laughed, not knowing as a hero would be coming soon, unknowing of his destiny.
