A/N: Hello my lovelies I am so sorry for going MIA, my daughter had to undergo major surgery and it turned out she was really poorly and needed treatment. With that on top of life, this had to go on the back burner a little bit but I'm hopefully back properly now!
EPOV:
I knew she wouldn't take it well but I didn't expect her to run off, I call Charlie,
"Chief Swan," he says,
"Charlie, I spoke with Bella earlier, she knows everything… she wasn't happy, keep an eye on her but I suspect she will come to you." I explain to him,
"I see, don't expect me to defend you son, I do what I do because of an agreement with you father, that does not mean I agree with you" he explains curtley,
I rub my hand over my face "I love her Charlie, I will get her back and I will sort this…" I explain to him trying to convince myself as much as him.
"I don't think Bella will let you off that easily" he has the audacity to chuckle, "I will be honest with her, it's down to her what she does" he explains and ends the call. I huff and scream into the empty Forest.
I look down into the basket at the stone cross I had carved this morning that I wanted to show Bella, "I keep fucking this up don't I? I don't know what to do? How to make it right…FUCK!" I scream into the air, I pack all the stuff up and drive home.
"Edward, how did it go?" My mother asks coming out of the kitchen, I shrug my shoulders at her,
"I've fucked up so bad Mom, I don't know how to make it better, she actually hates me. I wanted to come back and to go back to how things were, I wanted A family with Bella, I wanted to marry her" I feel tears prick in my eyes but there was no way they would come free. My Mother tuts at me,
"Edward Cullen, can I be honest with you? We left, we were horrific to her and she went through hell, your just expecting to come back and jump straight back to where it started?" Her words stung me "You are not all to blame, we couldn't protect you anymore than we had for those 18 years but I get it's not 100% your fault." She explains "Bella needs time," I nod at her before going up the stairs
I sit on my bed staring for a long time, I had always been someone who got their way, people just listened to me, my role in the family meant others listened to me and I commanded respect. But with Bella it was different, she wasn't scared of me, something I was slightly grateful for however she didn't want me like she did before and I wasn't getting what I wanted.
My phone vibrates loudly and I can barely force myself to answer it,
"Edward you need to get over to the diner, I've spotted a black Sudan NYC plate," I hear Emmett say, FUCK!
I jump to my feet "Is Bella there?" I ask rushing down the stairs to my car, slamming the door shut and my foot on the gas,
"No, Rose is here, the car has gone now but I definitely spotted it!" I sigh a breath of relief and slow my driving down a little,
"I'm five minutes away, get Rose inside and I will see you soon!" I get into town and steer into the diner parking lot, reversing my car next to Emmett's Jeep.
I head inside and see Rose, Emmett, Alice, Jasper and Chief Swan sitting at a table, the look on their face haunts me….
"Edward, No one can get hold of Bella" Em says quietly and in that moment I feel my heart shatter.
