The Deville You Know Ch7.

"Sonya? The coffee fairy is here!" Mandy called out as she entered the hotel room with two large drinks for them. "Sonya?" She called again but got no response. She turned the light on and saw her friend lying on the bed, with several empty bottles around her.

"Turn...the...light...off." Sonya barely got out, grasping her head with her hands.

"Good god Sonya, how much did you put away last night?" Mandy asked.

"I dunno, light off." Was all she got in response.

"Can't do that. We've got media today before Raw. Thank goodness it's not tv media, you look like crap."

"Go to hell." Was the mumbled answer.

Mandy didn't take it personally, she'd dealt with Sonya hungover many times, and vice versa too. "Not now sweetie. Now let's get you in the shower."

Mandy went to pick up her friend but Sonya pulled herself back. "I said no, what part of that don't you understand?!"

Mandy was taken back by the aggression, but kept her temper. "You know how much trouble you'll be in if you miss this for a hangover. Is this all because of Paige and the bartender?"

The mention of Paige took all the aggression out of Sonya, who let herself be pulled to be seated on the edge of the bed, where she saw the note once more. She put her head in her hands, getting no sympathy from Mandy, who watched her until she realised tears were falling. She sat down and put an arm round her friend.

"What is it Son? What's wrong?

Sonya picked up the note and passed it to Mandy, who read it.

"'Sonya, I'm sorry. Paige.' So she apologised for being a flirt with the barman? Why would she come here and do that though?".

Sonya took a breath. "She apologised yeah, but that's not all. She came here because he was exactly what I said. He tried to take advantage of her. She was really upset at what happened and I calmed her down. Then she went on about Renee telling her that she should be with me, and then, well..."

"Oh no. Sonya, what did you do? Tell me you didn't make a move on her and scare her off."

"No I didn't, if you must know, she made the move."

"Wait, what? She made a move on you? Are you sure?" Mandy didn't sound convinced.

"Yes she did, I know I was drunk, but I'm not ever going to forget that. She made the move and I couldn't say no. We made out for ages, it was incredible."

"You made out, that's it? You didn't sleep with her?"

"No, we kinda fell asleep before things got that far. Then when I woke up, she was gone, and the note was there." Sonya's voice cracked as she finished her sentence. "I need to call her." She said as she looked for her phone.

Spotting it first, Mandy snatched it up before Sonya could. "No, not now, you need to calm down, get your head straight, drink your coffee, get in the shower and get ready to go, we have to be at the radio station for our interview in 90 minutes."

"But I need to talk to her, I don't want to lose her."

"Sonya, you can't go chasing her after she ran off, just talk to her at work, like adults. But don't expect it to go well."

"It might, she wouldn't have kissed me if there wasn't something."

Mandy rolled her eyes. "I know your feelings are strong right now, but she's not interested, or she'd be here now. Now get up, I'm not getting in trouble because of this."

Sonya got up and collected herself. "Ok, geez, you don't have to be cruel." She went into the bathroom and closed the door.

"Because tough love is what you need. I don't know what's gotten into Paige but she's not going to listen to me right now. Maybe I'll need to talk to Renee." Mandy said quietly to herself.

When they got to the arena, Mandy and Sonya went to catering. Once they were amongst a bigger group, Mandy went to go. "If you see her, don't go running over, let her come to you Ok?" She said quietly to her friend.

Sonya nodded, but Charlotte overheard. "What was that? Is she ok?"

"Yeah, she's fine, but keep an eye on her, especially if Paige shows up. Please?" Mandy asked, and the look on her face was clearly enough to explain that she couldn't say anything else. Charlotte looked understandably confused, but nodded.

Mandy found Renee in a production office, talking to Stephanie McMahon and Kevin Dunn. She went to knock but the conversation seemed animated so she waited. Minutes later Renee stormed past.

"Renee? You ok?" She asked.

"What?! Renee rounded on Mandy, but only then realised who she was speaking to wasn't someone she was mad at. "Oh, Mandy. I'm sorry."

"What was that about?"

"Kevin was giving me a lot of 'feedback' for my commentary. Sexist pig. Sure he thinks women can't do anything. Stephanie backed up my performance, but I had to apologise for what I called him."

"Dare I ask?" Mandy knew none of the women were big fans of Kevin Dunn.

"I better not repeat it, it wasn't nice. I need to forget about it before we go live. How are you doing?"

"I'm good, but we need to talk about Paige." Mandy got more serious, and Renee could tell.

"Paige, why, what has she done?"

"Did you tell her that she should make a move on Sonya?"

"Make a move? Yeah, well, no. I told her that she should ask Sonya out though. Why? Did she?"

Mandy told Renee the whole story of the last 24 hours or so and watched the announcer get more and more of a grin on her face as it went on, only to fall at the end.

"Oh Paige, why did you do that?" She exclaimed to nobody in particular.

"Sonya is devastated. She has really strong feelings for Paige, and feels like she's had her heart stamped on." Mandy said, feeling angry about as she spoke.

"Don't be mad at her. I'll bet my house she'll apologise, and this will all work out." Renee tries to be calming but it didn't work.

"Bet your house? How can you be so confident?"

Renee laughed, but seeing that not helping, quickly explained herself. "Mandy, you may not have seen it, but I have. Paige has never been as happy as she has been when she is with Sonya. While you have been with Finn, those two have spent a lot of time together. I saw you two training your new tag moves at the PC a week or two back. She was watching you both, but she was staring at Sonya almost the whole time. Couldn't take her eyes off her. So I suggested she ask her out. Paige deserves to be happy, and I'm positive this is what she wants. She freaked out on me, and she clearly freaked out on Sonya. It's a big deal for her. She's not had a crush on a woman before. She isn't dealing with it well clearly, but give her time."

Renee stopped talking but Mandy didn't answer.

"Mandy? Hello?"

"You're serious? You think Paige likes her too?"

"Is there any doubt? Do you make out with people you don't like, twice even?"

"No, no I don't. Oh my god. Where is Paige, we need to put the two of them together to sort this out."

Renee looked confused. "Don't you know? Haven't you seen the format for tonight She's not here. They sent her to do a media event in LA. you and Sonya are wrestling Alexa and Nia tonight. Losing the match but you attack Alexa later, keep her on the back foot for now before the title match at Mania. You've got to do a pretape where as though Paige is giving you grief for losing over the phone, before the attack afterwards."

"She's not here? Great, not going to help get this solved. What do you think we should do?"

"Get Sonya to call her. Say that she just wants to talk. They might not want to do it on the phone though, maybe they shouldn't, but they can arrange something. We can only do so much, and we have to stay calm, but we will knock their heads together as much as we need to to help them figure it out, if you're as on board as I am?" Renee offered a handshake.

"Sonya is my best friend, and she's crazy about Paige. So if the need us to kick them up the ass, I'm in." Mandy shook Renee's hand with a smile.

"Right, so since Sonya is the only one here, get her to call Paige, then get ready for the show. Nothings going to happen tonight otherwise." Renee said. Mandy knew that was true, and headed back to catering, finding Sonya half way through a bowl of cereal.

"Cereal? Really?" Was all she could say at the discovery. Sonya just shrugged. "Come with me." Mandy said, taking her hand and leading her to an empty room down the corridor.

"I've got bad news Son, Paige isn't working tonight, she's off doing a big media thing." Mandy saw Sonya's head fall so she quickly followed on. "But I think you need to call her and talk."

Sonya looked up in surprise. "Really? You didn't see, to think that before we got here."

"Well I've had a think, and changed my mind, it's a woman's prerogative isn't it?"

"Yeah, but, are you sure it's a good idea?"

"You want to sort this out right?"

"Of course, but..."

"Then talk to her, do you want to regret not doing it, or regret taking a chance?"

"Ok fine." Sonya got her phone out, found Paige's number and dialled. A few moments later she hung up. Mandy stood there, confused. "Voicemail." Sonya said.

"So why didn't you leave a message?" Mandy asked.

"I wasn't ready." Was the answer. "Now I am." She dialled again and took a deep breath.

"Hi Paige, it's Sonya. I'm at RAW, and I found out you aren't. I just wanted to talk. Please call me back, anytime at all. Please. Bye." She ended the call. "How was that? She asked her best friend.

"Fine, I wouldn't have said please, sounded a bit desperate, but after last night what's done is done. We've just to focus on work.

RAW went off without a hitch, although they had the time for their match cut after Elias and The Miz went over time. When Sonya got back to the locker room, she checked her phone right away. Mandy looked on hopefully.

"Nothing." Sonya said.

"Sorry." Mandy said, starting to change out of her ring gear.

The two washed up and dressed, but as Mandy was ready, Sonya sat down and dialled her phone.

"Sonya..." Mandy started to say, but it was too late. The call had the same result as Sonya put her phone back on the side, packing up her last items. As she went to close her case, her phone chimed. There was no doubt who the message was from as Sonya scooped it up and read the screen. Mandy saw her face crumple as she dropped the phone, putting her face in her hands.

"Oh no" she muttered as she picked up the phone and read the message.

Sonya,

Please stop calling me. I think it's best at the moment that we only speak at work, and only about work. We have to stay professional, but that's all. Hunter wants us at Smackdown Friday, so I will see you then. I trust you can pass Hunter's request to Mandy.

Paige.

"Damn her." Mandy said. "Come on, let's get a drink. Not as many as last night, but I dare say you need one."

"I don't understand her. Why doesn't she need to be so hateful? We were friends 24hrs ago?"

"It'll be ok Sonya, lets get out of here." Mandy said but Sonya suddenly kicked her case across the room, drawing a look from the last women still changing. Mandy picked up the case and wheeled it to the door with hers, then went back for her friend. "Come on, it's been a day to forget." Sonya composed herself and the two headed for the parking lot.

"So we have to go to Smackdown? Where is it?" Sonya asked.

"Actually it's in Jersey, you can visit home." Mandy said, checking her schedule.

"Great, I know how I'm going to get over this. "Sonya said, quickly sending another message. Mandy couldn't see this one, but she hoped that Sonya was going to get over Paige.

She might not have felt this way, if she could see Paige at that moment, crying her eyes out, her sent message still on screen.

Author Note: Paige still can't get her head around things. What she thinks she'd doing, and what she thinks she wants are clashing. Sonya has a plan to get over all of the anguish she has suffered. What do you think that could be?

Thank you all so much for reading and for the reviews you have all left, I hope you continue to enjoy it.
