Eclipsa Queen of the Blood Moon

Author's note: this story is based on the concept presented by Reptile edge. Read his Eclipsa Queen of Blood and Darkness fanfic for the better story. Chapter 5: The Second Message

Star paced the floors of the library waiting for her mother's arrival. Glossaryk is dead? She thought barely believing it to be true. How could this happen and why is star the target of queen Eclipsa's rage.

Moon came to the main hall of the library and watched her daughter with despair. She knew that Star was going thru a lot right now and she needed her help.

"Mom!" Star exclaimed and ran to her mother hugging her. Tears running freely from her eyes. "I can't believe he's gone."

Moon returned her daughter's embrace patting her back in order to comfort her. "I know dear… I'm sorry." Moon was trained by Glossaryk as well as all the former queens of Mewni. Now he was dead… killed by one of his most talented pupils.

"How could this happen? What does she want?" Star asked.

"I don't know Star." Moon said looking around warily. "But I have a theory." Moon released the embrace and walked toward the shelves. She began cherry picking books from different shelves and soon had a stack of books. She slammed them down on the table.

"I guess I need to break down what Eclipsa is…" She sighed in frustration "I never wanted to have this conversation with you."

Star looked at the first book and was shocked to see it was the journal of Queen Solaria and it had the title the vampire slayer's almanac

"Star, what do you know about vampires?" Moon asked opening the journal and looking it over.

"They suck blood and can't be out in the sunlight."

"You're half right… Vampires can be in the sunlight it just makes them powerless." Queen Moon found the passage she was looking for. "Right here… this passage says that Queen Solaria hid her vampire slaying weapons in an Armoury… but it doesn't say where it was." Queen Moon slammed her fist on the desk making the hardwood shake.

"Mom, what is going on? Vampires? Eclipsa? I need to know." Star placed her hand on Moon's shoulder.

Moon sighed and looked at her daughter. "I guess I have to tell you everything. It was a black mark on our families past." Queen moon replied. "Where shall I begin? I guess with Queen Eclipsa's fall."

"It started simple queen Eclipsa was gaining mastery over her magic. She was a prodigy but she had twisted ideals… finding beauty in things most foul. It was not long before her interests drew the attention of another… Sir Korvid… the vampire king. He and Eclipsa fell in love and she turned her back on her arranged marriage."

"So what's the problem? Was he evil?"

"Very… Sir Korvid was in open rebellion leading from the forest of certain death where his castle lie. His children, the vampires, would come into Mewni and feast on it's people then return to his home for safety."

"Oh that's bad."

"Yes and when Eclipsa married him he turned her into a vampire thus making the future of the kingdom be put into jeopardy. She even left her daughter Festivia and had a foul spawn with Korvid a creature known as a dhampir and her daughter Meteora."

"Ooooh monster drama."

"Star! Pay attention." Queen Moon instructed slapping her hand on the table. "This is serious business… now where was I?"

"You were telling me about Meteora."

"Yes, exactly. I was telling you that Meteora was born and thus threatened the throne of Mewni's true heir… Festivia. Anyway Queen Solaria realized all too late that her daughter was a lost cause. Thus she enacted a war and called all of Mewni's allies… to battle. The war was long and deadly it lead to many great knight's lives being lost. But it was eventually won out by Queen Solaria destroying Korvid and his entitled plus his black knights."

"Uh what are entitled and black knights?"

"Oh yes I forget we try to suppress the knowledge of vampires in this kingdom. A black knight is a vampire above the typical spawn they are loyal to the queen and the queen alone. They can only be created by the right of progeny given by head vampire."

"Ooooh, are they tough? Can they do magic?"

"Traditional magic no… no vampire can. They use something called discipline… though we know very little about them. They can make the vampire faster, stronger, more durable, have control over the minds and bodies of the living, control the cold of the grave, and much more… though only the head has access to all thirteen disciplines. The black knights have access to three and the entitled have access to 3 or 4 in case of the baroness or 5 in the case of a countess."

"Okay… so what does all that mean… who are the entitled?"

"The entitled are the most powerful generals in the vampire head's armies. Each one has a specific role in the army and they are as follows; countess, second to the head, baroness second to the countess, scourge, the head assassin, the fury, the top warrior, the harpy, the spy master, the leech, the blood hunter, and the sorceress, master of the esoteric blood disciplines… all equally dangerous."

"So what are we gonna do about all of them?"

"For now we have to look into the armory and I'll need you to be on high alert. Understand this Star we are under threat from a vengeful beast… she won't stop until her lust for revenge is sated."

"What happened to Meteora?" Star asked realizing that her mom never elaborated about Eclipsa's daughter. "What did we do to her?"

Moon gulped and looked away saddened "We killed her."

"What!? You killed a baby!?" Star exclaimed shocked at what her mom had just told her.

"Keep your voice down." Moon replied gritting her teeth. "Enough time has passed that people had forgotten the exact details of that day."

"But mom, you killed a baby… that's insane!" Star couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her mom was okay with killing an infant… what the heck.

"Star you must understand. As long as Meteora was alive not only was their risk for her to become a full vampire but also a threat to the throne's ascension… it was for the best." Queen Moon placed her hand on Star's shoulder.

The moment was spoiled by a guard rushing into the library. "My Queen! Another three people have gone missing."

Blast it! The queen thought. This was the fourteenth case of missing people. Which means Eclipsa has been making more vampires and that means they have to find the armory. "Any luck finding Mina love berry?"

"No my queen. No word from her or Hekapoo."

Queen moon had assumed the worse. Either Hekapoo and Mina are dead or they have been turned and made into members of the queens vampire army.

"Mom what are we going to do?"

"First, we'll prepare for a journey… second we'll comb through the lore in the library until we find a clue to the library." Moon explained. "for now I need you to go to your room so I can think."

"Okay mom." Star walked away from her mom and made her way to her room. She found that her mind was addled with the recent events. Her friend Glossaryk is dead and now there is a vampire queen hunting for revenge. Add to that her mom admitting that they killed a child in order to secure the throne… this was bad.

Star opened the door to her room and was meant with the same sight as two weeks ago. Inside the room was pony head dead on her bed and written in blood on her walls was the word betrayal

Star felt her knees weaken, then buckle she let out a horrible scream… and when the guards came with Queen Moon. The queen hugged her daughter who was a mess… Eclipsa has gone too far… and Queen Moon has even more resolve to find out where the armory was… for herself as well as her daughter.
