Eclipsa Queen of the Blood Moon

Chapter 11: search in vain.
Star was checking off at her notepad… preparations for the funeral of ponyhead. She was helping ponyheads father and sisters in the planning of the princesses final rites.
"Okay I managed to get the solid gold casket with big rubies, the warnicorn whiney wail salute, and all of ponyheads ex boyfriends to agree to come and admit how wrong they were about to her and say nice things. Gah, why does planning a funeral have to be so stressful."
The girl picked up a picture of Her, marco, and ponyhead during their first adventure. She couldn't help herself as the tears came down. The girl wiped her eyes "I miss you ponyhead."
star's mother meanwhile was standing on a ladder checking for some book once again. All this waiting around made the already anxious star ready to burst.
"No, this isn't it, no… it's supposed to be here?" she muttered to herself picking at the books. Grabbing one and then placing it back in it's place. "where is that damn journal."
"haven't we read enough books mom?" star complained taking a break from her planning.
"apparently not, because we have no idea where queen solaria's amoury is and the book that holds it's location is not in it's proper place, gah!… ah-ahhh!" queen moon lost her footing and fell off the ladder falling on her back. She groaned as her head hit the back of the wooden table.
"you okay there mom."
Moon gave a thumbs up then rose dusting herself off. "Now where could it be?"
"Mom, can I ask you a question?"
"Yes dear, anything?" mom sat next to her sister.
"am I gonna become like queen solaria… a child killer."
"Star, the queens of the past each had their own problems and some never got over it."
"But mom, killing children because they were born out of wedlock. Isn't that a little extreme?" star exclaimed, "I mean look at us… we are killing ourselves looking for a book that could help us exterminate a menace that our ancestor caused."
Moon remained silent, letting her daugthers words sink in.
"Mom, are we the reason people are getting eaten?" Star's voice cracked when she said it and queen moon felt her heart drop.
"No, honey no, it's not our fault… we can't think like that."
"But solaria–" Star's mother wrapped her in a hug silencing her.
"Solaria made an error in judgement. That has nothing to do with us… eclipsa is acting out in revenge and not thinking clearly. She's as much a danger to herself as to others. It's up to us to save the dimensions."
"thanks mom, I really needed that." star returned the hug and they stayed like that for a few minutes until one of the knights ran in carrying a book.
"you're highness I found the book you were looking for… it was on your bookshelf."
"Hmm, I guess I read it before all this craziness and forgot to put it back." moon shrugged her shoulder. "well, it's here now."
She opened the book and went ghost white. "how… how did she do this?" Queen moon voice sounded frail… barely above a whisper.
"Mom… what's wrong?"
"It's hopeless… we are gonna die?" moon's body shook like it was in the middle of a thunderstorm.
"mom! Why are you acting like… like… oh no." star caught the look of the book and saw that a whole section of pages were torn out and blood was scrawled on the pages in another single word message… hopeless.
"She's always one step ahead… there is only one option left… we must speak to the time keeper." moon said grabbing stars arm and then running to her room. "we have to hurry… before it's too late."
