Chapter 14
3ª P.O.V.
Kate went downstairs in the morning and entered the kitchen determined to make breakfast.
She put all the ingredients on top of the balcony, but when she opened the smaller fridge under it to take some eggs she noticed the blood bag inside.
The brunette knew about Marcus' diet but she never noticed a blood bag before or, now she was thinking about it, she never saw her boyfriend drinking blood either.
Kate frowned but she started making pancakes, she was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn't noticed Marcus entering the kitchen. So, when she felt strong arms wrapping around her waist and a body pressed against her back, she jumped scared.
"Good morning, darling" Marcus whispered next to her ear, making her relax in their hug.
"Morning" the brunette said rolling in his arms, so she could face him.
"Are you alright?" he questioned worried, he noticed her jumpiness.
"Yeah, I was just lost in my thoughts" she told him, making him nod.
Kate placed her arms over his shoulders, leaning towards Marcus and kissing him.
"I made pancakes!"
"I'll set the table" he said, letting her return her attention to the breakfast and started putting the table.
The breakfast was already on the table and Marcus was seated when the human placed a mug in front of him.
The vampire peeked into the mug, even though he already knew what it contained by the intense smell of blood.
Kate noticed the way Marcus' nostrils flared and the slight darkening of his eyes, but she wasn't scared, she trusted him implicitly.
"I'm good, Kate. I don't ne-" the vampire started, but she interrupted him.
"Why don't you drink blood in front of me?"
"Do you want me to drink blood in front of you?" he questioned cautiously.
"I want you to feel comfortable to do it" Kate pointed out.
"Do you feel comfortable?" Marcus questioned again worried.
"Oh my god, Marcus! Of course I'm comfortable, it's not like you're is killing someone in front of me" the Bishop exclaimed, sitting next to him.
"Sorry, Kate. I just didn't want you to be uncomfortable" he explained.
"Who you are would never made me uncomfortable" Kate said, laying a hand over one of Marcus'.
"You're amazing" the vampire claimed, leaning over the table to kiss the brunette.
"I called Matthew last night" he reveled once they split, catching Kate's attention.
"How is he?" she questioned, she missed Matthew.
"He's fine" Marcus answered and then added "I told him about us".
"Really?" the brunette was surprised, they only started dating the day before.
"Yes, I may have been a little too excited" the vampire confessed, looking at the table.
Kate smiled at Marcus' shy attitude, finding adorable the fact that he was he couldn't wait to tell his father about their new relationship.
"It's ok, I want to tell my moms and Diana too. I'm just going to wait a little to tell my moms, they don't really like vampires" the young Bishop was afraid of her moms' reaction to her relationship with a vampire.
"Don't worry, we have time. Besides, once they meet me, they will love me" Marcus claimed confident with a smile, making Kate laugh.
"So, what Matthew said?" she questioned curious.
"He is happy about us" he told to his girlfriend "Like Miriam, he only asks us to keep being professional".
Kate exhaled, relived, the possibility of Matthew condemn their relationship was making her nervous.
The brunette hesitated for a second before she questioned "Did you know anything about Diana?"
"Yeah, I asked Matthew how she was" the vampire reveled cautiously, he knew how fragile Kate and Diana's relationship was "She is ok. They going to have a more formal dinner on Friday, which she is excited about".
The young Bishop smiled with the idea of her sister in an elegant dress "That's good. I'm glad she's happy".
Kate haven't talk with her moms in a while and, being separated from Diana was making her really miss her moms. They always knew how to solve things between her and her old sister when they argued.
So, when she arrived home, from another day working in the lab, the first thing she did was called them.
"Hi, honey! How are you doing, sweetie?" Emily questioned, answering the phone.
"Hey, mom!" the human smiled "I'm fine. How are you and mom?"
"We're ok. She is here, I'll put you on speaker".
Sarah's upset voice came from the other side "Kate? Why did it took you so long to call us?"
"Sorry, mom. I have been busy with work" Kate apologized.
"Don't work too much, you need to have a personal life!" the witch pointed out, worried with her daughter.
"I have a personal life!" the young Bishop disagreed, Marcus and Miriam's face pop-up to her mind. But, since she still didn't want to reveal her relationship with the vampire, Kate didn't elaborated.
"Diana didn't called us either. Do you know how she is?" Sarah questioned.
"I haven't talked with Diana in a while. But I know she's fine" Kate told her moms, surprising them.
"Why, honey? What happened?" Emily questioned worried, the Bishop sisters have always been so close.
"Diana found out that her parents weren't killed by humans, they were killed by witches".
"That's not possible! Who said that?" Sarah fiercely disagreed, angry with the suggestion that witches could kill other witches.
"Matthew analyzed the crime scene. He found out evidences of witchcraft" the brunette explained.
"I'm not going to believe in some vampire's accusations! He's trying to turn Diana against her equals" Sarah's angry voice came from the phone.
"Mom, Matthew would never do that! He likes Diana and he would never made her suffer!" Kate disagreed confident "Besides, Knox threated me and Diana before, so yes witches can turn against each other".
The brunette took a deep breath and conclude "Anyway, I wanted to go to her, but she told me not to. She wants to be alone".
"I'm sorry, sweetie" Sarah said softly, her heart aching for her daughter "Maybe, she just need time to process it".
"Things will be better in no time" Emily encouraged.
"I really hope so" the human signed, she missed her sister.
Their talk moved to lighter subjects, so when her mother asked about her relationship, Kate was very surprised.
"So, who is he?" Emily questioned curious, surprising both Sarah and Kate.
"How do you know?" the young Bishop questioned, shocked with her mother's knowledge.
"You sound happier, honey".
"So, do you thing he's the one?"
A soft nock on the frame of the bedroom door, made Kate look up only to see Marcus leaning on the frame.
"Well, it's very recent, but yeah, I really do" she answered looking into the vampire's eyes, who gave her a brilliant smile.
"I have to go. I'll call you tomorrow. Love you" the brunette said to her moms, ending the call.
"Hey, the restaurant called, there was a problem with our reservation, so they had to delay it to 9 o'clock. Is that ok?" the vampire questioned, entering the room.
"Yeah, sure" Kate answered, she was lost in her boyfriend's eyes, so she didn't heard what he said, only is question, which was to generic to her understand what he said before that.
"Ok, so I'm gonna call the restaurant, confirming it" Marcus said, leaving the room with a smile on his face.
Miriam knew that she and Kate were friends and despite she hadn't much friendships over the centuries she knew what a friend is supposed to do, so when she receive a text from Kate saying to go to Marcus' house, she runned there.
"You said it was an emergency" Miriam pointed out looking at the brunette, who was in front of her closet.
"It is" Kate said moving her hands though the hangers, she ignored a memory of her and Diana picking her clothes.
"Its clothes" the vampire pointed out with an obvious tone in her voice.
"I know, but…" the brunette hesitated, before she look back at the woman sitting on the bed "I'm nervous and I would like your opinion".
At Kate's puppy eyes Miriam sighed and got up "Ok, let's see what we have here".
"Are you serious?" Miriam questioned, watching Marcus changing clothes repeatedly in front of his mirror.
"Miriam!?" the younger vampire screamed, covering his naked chest with the shirt he took out, the woman rolled her eyes with the gesture "What are you doing here?"
"Kate asked my help for choosing her clothes" she answered and then said "She's almost ready, if you keep changing clothes you'll be late".
"I know, but I want to look good for our first date" Marcus said, trying on a different shirt.
"It's not your first date" Miriam pointed out, she remembers perfectly how Marcus ask Kate on a date in the lab on the same night of Matthew and Diana's.
"It's our first date as a couple" he explained, changing the shirt again.
The older vampire snort, she was starting to lose patience with the young vampire so she walked towards him and started picking his clothes.
"Put this on and fix your hair" Miriam ordered, handing him over a dark blue shirt, jeans and a black coat, before she left his room.
"What's wrong with my hair?" Marcus questioned, now worried about his hair.
Marcus was waiting for Kate at the bottom of the stairs and while he was smoothing his shirt for the third time, Miriam came down the stairs and joined him.
The older vampire stopped in front of him looking at his hair with a frown "What have you done to your hair?"
"You told me to fix it" Marcus accused, moving his hand throw his hair.
"Yes, fix it, not to make it look like a dead cat's fur" Miriam said, hitting Marcus' hand so she could comb his hair while she ignored his offended look.
"There" Miriam admire the younger vampire's hair and ordered "Now when she comes down, don't be an idiot and say that she's gorgeous".
"I don't need you to tell me what to say" Marcus barked still upset with the hair comment, but that didn't affected Miriam, who only moved next to the front door with her head held high.
However the vision of Kate coming down the stairs stole his breath away and he didn't knew what to say.
The young woman wore a black dress which was short in front and long in back and had a heart-shaped neckline with long lace sleeves, her hair hangs over her shoulders curly at the ends and to complete her look some black ankle boots.
"She's gorgeous" Marcus stuttered, Miriam snorted, managing to hide a laugh, while the brunette stood in front of him with her eyebrows raised and a smile.
The vampire cleared his throat and corrected "I mean, you look gorgeous".
"Thank you, Marcus" she smiled brilliantly, extremely happy with the obvious effect she caused on Marcus.
"Shall we?" the vampire questioned, offering his arm to Kate, who rapped hers around him.
The young couple walked to the front door, where Miriam was and the three went out to the street.
"Thank you, Miriam" Kate said, pulling the older woman to a hug.
"Anytime" Miriam said, she liked choosing clothes and do the Bishop's hair.
Marcus and Kate watched the older woman walk away before they went to the other way.
When the couple arrived to the restaurant, they were taken to the terrace where a table with a white tablecloth, a bouquet of red roses and candles awaited them.
Kate looked shocked at Marcus, her eyes wide and her jaw dropping.
"It was the best I could do in 24 hours" the vampire said, at the brunette's expression.
"Marcus, this is amazing!" she said, no one had ever done something so romantic for her, making him smile and pulling her to the table.
Marcus pulled out the chair for Kate and they sat.
The couple had dinner under the stars, it was the perfect night, it was warm and the sky was clear, and they lost track of time talking.
When they left the restaurant, they walk home while discussing each other's musical taste.
"Marron5, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran" Marcus read out loud, scrolling through her playlist.
"I think I wanna break up" the vampire joked, making Kate put her hand on her chest, pretending to be hurt.
"At least, I have more than one band" she teased.
"New Order is the best band of all times" Marcus affirmed, making the brunette nod.
"Queen, Pink Floyd, The Rollin Stones, Black Eyed Piece" he continued through her playlist "And we are back together" the vampire joked, but his next words were nothing but serious.
"But, I would be in love with you no matter how your playlist was" Kate smiled to his declaration and leaned to a quick kiss.
The young couple arrived home and after they entered, they stand in the living room, none of them wanted to be away from the other.
"I really loved this night, Marcus" the human said with a smile.
"Me too" he agreed.
After a moment of silence Marcus questioned insecure. "Earlier today when you were talking with your moms, did you meant what you said?"
"That I think you're the one?" the young Bishop questioned, despite knowing what he was talking about.
At his nod, she said "Yes, I do".
Kate watched his eyes widen for a second before he close the distance between them, placing his hands on each side of her face as he locked their lips together.
Their sweet kiss quickly turned into a passionate one as Marcus ran his tongue over her lower lip, she let him in, eager to taste him.
When they separated to breath Marcus looked into the human's brown eyes and said "I think you're the one too", they smiled to each other and Marcus leaned to her again, kissing her softly.
He moved his lips from her mouth to her jaw and then to her neck, kissing and licking over her pulse, Kate leaned her head back, giving him more access and he moved his hands to her waist, gluing their bodies together.
She moved her hands to his hair, gently pulling a few strands. Marcus growled before covering her mouth with his, she felt him clench her waist.
They started moving to the stairs, occasionally tripping in each other's feet, Marcus smiled against her mouth and leaned so she could wrap her legs around his waist. Marcus hold under her ass to steady her and carry Kate upstairs without interrupting their kiss.
The vampire led them to his room, when they arrived he hold the brunette with one hand as he opened the door with the other, they got in.
Marcus kicked the door closed behind them.
