Outside the Musutafu Courthouse
A News team was standing outside the Musutafu courthouse waiting for any information on the case that was currently taking place.
"We are standing outside the Musutafu Courthouse, where custody for Endeavor's, the number two Hero's, children will be determined. Last week Touya Todoroki, Endeavor's oldest child, told us that Endeavor has been abusing him and his siblings in order to try and surpass All Might, the number one Hero. This is Kiko Yamamoto signing off."
Inside Musutafu Courtroom.
Touya sat in front waiting for the judge to come in.
He looked to his left and saw the number three Hero Hawks sitting in between him and Umi who was sitting next to Miruko.
He looked to his right to see Natsuo sitting next to a blond bombshell.
He looked past Natsuo and the blond to see Shoto sitting in between A dark haired, scruffy looking, almost zombie like man, and a fair skinned greenette.
He looked at the other side of the room to see his burning trash can of a sperm donor glaring at him.
He glared back.
The door opened and everyone looked up to see...
"Mom!" Fuyumi and Natsuo yelled.
Rei Todoroki was led into the courtroom.
When she saw her children, she smiled sheepishly at them.
Then she looked at Touya and bolted for him.
She wrapped her arms around him and sobbed into his shoulder.
"My baby's alive!" She sobbed. "My baby boy is alive!"
Touya saw Endeavor get up and glared fiery death at him.
Aizawa and the greenette saw Touya glaring at Endeavor and stood up, ready in case something happened.
"All rise." The bailiff said. "For the honorable Judge Sado."
Everyone stood up.
"Please sit down." The kindly man said. "We are here to determine custody of the Todoroki family, yes?"
"Yes, your honor." Hinata said standing up. "I received a call from Principal Nezu at UA High saying that one of his students were in an abusive household and sent me in to investigate."
"And what did you find?"
"The Todoroki children living at home were no better than prisoners in their own home your honor. If I may."
Judge Sado nodded.
Hinata brought a file up.
Judge Sado looked through it.
"I was only able to look around for maybe five minutes your honor, but I knew about Endeavor's temper and used the time that I had wisely. As you can see your honor, the locks on their doors were inversed so they were locked from the outside. Their closets didn't have doors, their windows couldn't be opened more than six inches. The bathroom didn't have a lock on it, and in the bathroom, I found anti-depressants for Fuyumi Todoroki. Along with a variety of other prescriptions as you can see. The Todoroki children need to be taken away from Endeavor for their physical, mental, and psychological safety. Living with them is hazardous to their health and development."
"Enji Todoroki?" Judge Sado said. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
"I was trying to raise my children in an environment where they would not see me as a way to get money, power, or fame..."
"Shut the fuck up!" Natsuo shouted. "You nearly killed Touya and covered it up, and now you're pushing Shoto to the breaking point! School is his only solace away from you, and you've driven Fuyumi to having psychotic episodes to the point that I have to hide Shoto and I from her! Don't make this sound like you're doing us a fucking favor! You aren't! Maybe we should tell them about how you used to abuse mom to the point that she poured fucking scalding water on Shoto's face! Or what about when you fucking pull Fuyumi out of bed by her hair when she's sick because dinners not on the fucking Table! You are a fucking monster, and I would kill you myself if I weren't so fucking weak!"
"What was that you said?" Judge Sado asked.
"Endeavor hurt all of us. He hurt Touya by burning his arms and face. He hurt my mom to the point that she had a psychotic break and tried burning Shoto's face with boiling water. Then he beat her for hurting his "prized possession"." Natsuo said with finger quotes. "He traumatized Fuyumi to the point that she needs antidepressants and who knows what else. He would grab her by her hair when she was sick and drag her out of bed because dinner wasn't done! He beat the shit out of Shoto on a daily basis! He doesn't deserve to be a father, let alone a Hero."
"What about you?" Judge Sado asked. "What did he do to you?"
"He pretty much ignored except to tell me how useless I was. I mainly hid in my pocket."
"I assume this pocket you are talking about is your Quirk."
"Yeah. Pockets. My Quirk is Pockets."
"I see."
Natsuo looked around. Everyone but the two of them were frozen. Endeavor looked like he was about to blow a fuse.
"Is this your Quirk?"
"Yes. Standstill. It allows me to stop time around me and up to four other people for five minutes."
"So, it's kind of like mine."
"In a way."
"What are you going to do about Endeavor?"
"I will ask the rest of your Family and Endeavor their sides of the story before I make my verdict."
"Just so you know. Endeavor will probably lie and try to spin this in a way where he's the victim or some bullshit like that."
"I know the type. Don't worry."
The world came back into focus and Natsuo looked around to see Endeavor getting ready to lose his shit.
The next moment Judge Sado called for a Recess.
Touya.
Touya looked at Judge Sado.
"What happened?" Touya asked.
"My Quirk. I can stop time for myself and up to five people around me for five minutes. Why don't you tell me what Endeavor did?"
Touya handed Judge Sado his phone with a picture of him before and after Rogue rewound his scars.
"He did this to you."
"Yes. He wanted someone to be stronger than All Might. He did whatever it took to try and get someone stronger than All Might. He put me through training that would break some pros. One day we were training, and he made me increase the temperature of my flames until it got too hot, and out of control. When I woke up, I was in agony I tried getting help, but no one would help a kid who looked like he crawled out of an incinerator... well, no one but the guy who found me. He couldn't get me medics help, but he was able to get in touch with someone who could."
"And did they help you?"
"Yes, but that was the best they could do."
"Then how did..."
"Some girl with a Quirk that could undo injuries like that helped me."
"I see. Why didn't you go back home?"
"At first I couldn't remember where home was, but after I did, I figured that Endeavor would kill me in order to keep his hands clean."
Judge Sado wiped his face but stayed quiet.
Fuyumi
"Fuyumi. Can you tell me your side of the story? Natsuo and Touya told me their sides of the story, but I want to know yours."
"I um... I failed my family. I tried keeping us together for as long as possible, but now we'll be separated and it's all my fault."
Fuyumi started crying.
Judge Sado cursed Endeavor. "Fuyumi. You did not fail your family, and you and your family will not be separated. Not if I have anything to say about it."
Fuyumi sniffed and took off her glasses before wiping her eyes. "R-really?"
"I will do everything in my power to keep you and your family together."
"Even our mom? Dad hurt her after she had a break and poured boiling water on Shoto's face because she was terrified of that side of his face."
Judge Sado looked at Shoto who had a burn on the left side of his face.
He looked down at a woman who was silently typing away.
She looked up at him with a sad look on her face.
"Is what Natsuo said about Endeavor true?" Judge Sado asked.
Fuyumi nodded her head.
"I'm so sorry." He spoke
Shoto
Judge Sado looked at Shoto. He looked cold, unsure. He seemed to judge anyone he came into contact with.
It was a defense mechanism to being hurt for so long.
Shoto Todoroki was in danger of becoming apathetic.
"Would you like to talk about your family?"
"Natsuo and Fuyumi are good siblings, I guess. Fuyumi gets really angry a couple of times a month, and sometimes Natsuo has to hide us in his Pocket, but I would rather deal with that than Endeavor."
"And why's that?"
"Because he did this." Shoto said moving his hair out of his face to show the burn mark."
"He burned you?"
"He might as well have considering he hurt my mom to the point that she did this to me because she was terrified of this half of my face."
"Is there anything else?"
"He used to hurt Touya when we were younger, and one day he didn't come back. That's when he started training me. My mom tried stopping him, but he would hurt her to get to me."
"What else?"
"He doesn't really bother Natsuo except to tell him how useless he is, and he hurts Fuyumi when dinner isn't ready. One day she forgot about dinner and saw him coming home. She ran into the kitchen and threw a fully frozen chicken and asked me to thaw it."
"Did you?"
"Yes, but because dinner wasn't ready, he hit and kicked her. I feel like if he does something like that again I'm going to kill him. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it before."
Judge Sado looked at Shoto. "Thank you. That was very informative."
Rei
Judge Sado looked at Rei. "Todoroki San..."
"Himura." Rei said.
"What?"
"My maiden name is Himura." Rei repeated.
"Very well. Himura San. What was it like living with Endeavor?"
Rei looked over at Endeavor nervously.
"He cannot hurt you or your family. You are safe."
"He um... he bought me from my parents in a Quirk marriage. If you could call it marriage. He wanted a child who could do what he couldn't and surpass All Might. He would hurt Touya..."
Rei looked at Touya still in disbelief. Her baby boy was alive.
"He hurt him, and when I tried to stop it, he would make me stop. Sometimes it was one hit. Others it was more than ten. Sometimes it was until I passed out."
"Is there anything else?"
"Yes." Rei cried. "I hurt Shoto! I hurt him!"
"What happened?"
"His left side looks so much like Endeavor. I was so scared. Scared for my life. Scared for my children's lives. I was so scared."
"I know. I know. It must have been terrifying."
"That doesn't excuse me for what I did. I was making a pot of tea, and Shoto startled me. I grabbed the pot and poured it on his left side hoping to get rid of Endeavors face. I didn't realize what I was doing until after I heard Shoto crying, but by then..."
Rei sobbed. "By then it was too late. I wish I could go back and stop myself from doing it, but I... but I can't!"
Judge Sado felt bad for Rei. He let her out of his Quirks effects.
When the world came into focus Rei was in tears.
Touya was on the verge of raging.
Natsuo was vibrating with rage.
Shoto looked indifferent, but Aizawa could tell that he was not happy about something.
Fuyumi was on the verge of tears.
And Endeavor stood there looking at his family enraged and embarrassed.
"There will be a fifteen-minute recess." Judge Sado said. "Then we will continue with Endeavor. Eraser Head. Miss Joke. Please come to my chambers."
Touya looked over and saw the Greenette and the scruffy looking guy get up and walk towards the judge's chambers.
Judge Sado's Chambers.
"Eraser head." Judge Sado nodded.
"Your honor." Aizawa bowed.
"Miss Joke." Judge Sado nodded.
"Your honor." Emi bowed.
"I want you two to be present when I question Endeavor."
"Of course, your honor." Aizawa said.
"I'm assuming you two know about my Quirk?"
"Yes sir." Emi said. "Your Quirk allows you to stop time around you and up to..." she stopped and looked at Aizawa.
"Four other people for five minutes." Aizawa finished.
"Yes. Four other people for five minutes." Emi said finishing her thought.
"Good. I am glad you are aware. My Stenographer, Morita San, myself, Endeavor, and you two will be in the loop. If Endeavor acts out, and you two are unable to contain him, Setsuko will use her Quirk."
"May I ask why you are telling us this, your honor?" Aizawa asked.
"Because. Setsuko's Quirk is Gravity."
The couple looked at each other.
"As in the ability to increase gravity?" Emi asked.
"Yes. So, in the event that you cannot stop him. Prepare to be hit by a wave of gravity that will pull you to the ground. I'm telling you this as both a warning and a courtesy. Not many people know about Setsuko's Quirk."
"Very well your Honor." Aizawa said with a bow.
Emi also bowed to Judge Sado.
With that they left the chambers.
When Eraser Head and Miss Joke left for the Judge's Chambers Endeavor stood up.
Touya practically jumped to his feet and walked over to Shoto before sitting down next to him.
Hawks went and also sat down.
"Who's that?" Shoto asked.
"This is Hawks. He's a friend of mine."
"Yeah." Hawks cut in. "I was doing patrol one day I saw him fighting off some thugs. I took him to a doctor friend of mine and had him taken care of. You know; snip, snip." He said making a scissor motion with his fingers.
Touya elbowed Hawks in the stomach. "Shut your lying face." He snapped.
Shoto looked at Touya and Hawks in a neutrally confused face.
Touya looked over at Natsuo. "So Natsu." He spoke. "Who's your friend?"
"More like menace." Natsuo said bitterly.
"Don't be mean." Barbara said with a flirtatious pout. "Otherwise, I might cry again, and you wouldn't want that."
"Nice." Touya said. "Looks like you're a real lady killer."
"Yeah." Hawks said. "A real chick magnet. Hey Bab's." He said smiling at Barbara.
Barbara flipped Hawks off.
"Oh. Is there a story there?" Touya asked.
"Yeah." Hawks said. "I beat her in a race, and now she hates me."
"Excuse me?" Barbara said. "You cheated. I'm the fastest woman alive."
"Maybe on the ground." Hawks said.
"When you say the fastest woman..." Touya said. "...does that include in bed?"
"Touya!" Rei and Fuyumi yelled in unison.
"What?" Touya asked. "I'm just asking if she's trying to bed Natsuo, that's all."
Barbara blushed a deep crimson.
Natsuo looked at her before looking at Touya then back at her and the floor.
"Natsuo?" Touya asked.
"Shut up!" Natsuo hissed.
"Dude." Hawks said. "He totally wants to..."
Hawks was cut off as Miruko slammed a hand over his mouth.
He mumbled something.
"What was that?" Miruko asked taking her hand off his mouth.
"Don't ruin my money maker." He spoke.
"News flash." She spoke. "You need a money maker to get it broken."
"Ouch." Touya said.
Endeavor watched as his family seemed to be enjoying themselves... without him.
He got up to walk over to them, why shouldn't he? He was the head of the family after all.
He began walking when the bailiff spoke.
"All rise, for the Honorable Judge Sado."
Everyone rose, and the judge sat down.
The world around Endeavor froze and he looked at Judge Sado.
There were three other people in the courtroom that were not frozen in time.
Eraser Head who was wearing his capture scarf, Miss Joke who was glaring at him, and the Stenographer.
"Endeavor!" Judge Sado said harshly. "I have spoken to your family, and I am horrified."
"Horrified by their accusations?" Endeavor asked.
"Quite frankly, YES!" Judge Sado said. "Your family has told me horrific tales of abuse and neglect. Is it true?"
"In attempting to make them self-reliant..."
"Self-reliant?" Judge Sado asked. "What part of burning your eldest child and abandoning him? What about dragging your daughter out of bed by her hair when she's sick because dinner isn't ready? Or beating her because dinner isn't ready? What part of neglecting your son and calling him worthless and useless do you consider self-reliance? What about terrorizing your wife to the point that she is terrified of your youngest son, and pours scalding water on him so he doesn't look like you anymore?"
"She abused him! Why isn't she on trial?"
"Because you sick son of a bitch!" Miss Joke yelled. "You are the one who forced her to that point!"
"I didn't force her to pour the water on his face. She did that of her own Volition."
Aizawa held Emi back from throttling Endeavor.
"Miss Joke!" Judge Sado said sternly. "Stop this action right now or you will be held in contempt."
"It would be worth it." She whispered to Aizawa.
Aizawa patted her shoulders. "I know." He whispered back.
"Endeavor! I am appalled by what you did to your family, and hereby find you guilty of abuse and neglect."
Endeavor tightened his hands into fists and let out a growl. This man was telling him how to treat his family! How dare he!"
Aizawa grabbed his capture scarf and let it swirl around ready to strike and got ready to activate his Quirk.
Miss Joke dropped into a fighting stance ready to move.
Everyone felt the gravity increase around them.
"Endeavor!" Judge Sado snapped. "Stand down."
Time sped back up as Judge Sado's Quirk stopped.
Everyone looked at Aizawa and Miss Joke ready to fight Endeavor.
Touya jumped up and grabbed Endeavor before dropping them into the pocket dimension that Natsuo had given him.
"You think you're pretty tough old man." Touya said donning his Dabi persona. "Let me show you what I became thanks to you."
He held his hand out towards Endeavor and shot a blast of blue fire at him.
Endeavor walked out of the fire and shot a blast of Hellflame at Touya.
"You were always weak to the flames!" He yelled.
Dabi blasted the flames creating a greenish hue for a split second.
Endeavor ran at Touya and jumped before blasting himself into the air.
He expelled fire from his feet to keep him in the air and threw a flaming spear at Touya.
The spear hit and exploded. Bathing Touya in fire.
Dabi got to his feet. "You're still not holding back. Just like when I was a kid. You haven't changed at all."
Endeavor landed and Dabi threw blue fire at him. "You always try and sear your problems away. Let's see if I can burn you out of our lives!"
Endeavor three twin balls of Hellflame at Touya.
The twin balls of Hellflame burst on contact and knocked Touya down.
He got to his feet. 'Fuck. My heat resistance is almost at its limit. I need to end this fast.'
Endeavor ran at Touya and grabbed him before using Hellflame and blasted Touya away.
Dabi struggled to his feet. "Is that all you've got old man?" He asked.
Endeavor held his hands out and began charging Hellflame for a power blast.
Dabi held his hands out while charging Cremation to blast Endeavor.
The blast knocked them both back.
"Fuck." Dabi said getting up. "I think my heat resistance is done for. If this is my final stand. I'm going to make it a good one."
Blue Flame shot up Dabi's arms and he ran at Endeavor punching him in the face singeing Endeavors face.
He smiled. "So. Your heat resistance is gone too? Fancy that."
Endeavor grimaced as his flesh burned.
"Thanks to your training old man, my fire is even hotter than yours now."
Endeavor punched at Touya sending fire engulfing him.
Touya's flesh burned as Endeavor's Hellflame burned his skin, but he'd dealt with it before, and he could do it again.
He pushed through the fire and grabbed Endeavor's hand.
"Can your Hellflame keep up with my cremation?"
Endeavor felt the skin on his hand burn... no, not burn, melt. He felt his skin melt away. He did the only thing he could do, and groan in pain.
"No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." Dabi said. "I didn't come here to hear you groan in pain. I came here to HEAR YOU SCREAM!"
He grabbed Endeavor by the throat. "Let me hear you scream old man!"
Endeavor could feel his skin melt away leaving the smell of boiled blood and burnt muscle in the air.
The pain finally overpowered his Will and he yelled.
"That's what I wanted to hear." Dabi said before kicking Endeavor out of his pocket and walking out.
When he walked outside, he dropped his Dabi Persona and felt his burns.
He dropped to his knees and looked around.
"TOUYA!" Rei yelled.
"Stay back!" Touya yelled warding his mom off with a wave of his hand. "He could get back up!"
Shoto and Natsuo ran up to Touya and helped him up.
"Natsuo. Take mom and Fuyumi into your Pocket."
"Right." Natsuo said.
Touya and Shoto walked over to Endeavor
Endeavor burst into flames melting the floor.
Aizawa grabbed Emi and swung them out of the way.
Touya jumped in front of Shoto and blocked the heat.
The others held their hands in front of them to ward off the heat.
"Stand down Endeavor!" Aizawa yelled. "You can still walk away from this!"
"Fuck you!" Endeavor yelled. "Fuck all of you!"
Aizawa activated his Quirk, erasing it.
Endeavor's Hellflame cut off.
Everyone looked at Endeavor.
Endeavor grabbed his side where he'd been burned.
Everyone stood their ground. Endeavor was wounded, and they weren't sure how he would react.
He could back down, or he might react like a wounded animal.
Touya knew he would react like a wounded animal.
Endeavor lashed out.
Aizawa threw his capture scarf and caught him before pulling him to his knees.
Endeavor pulled against Aizawa.
Aizawa held fast but wasn't ready for his capture scarf to go slack suddenly.
He stumbled for a split second which was enough for Endeavor.
He took the chance and pulled.
His Quirk roared to life, and he burned through Aizawa's capture scarf.
Shoto covered his left side with ice and threw as much ice as he could at Endeavor creating a spontaneous steam explosion that destroyed the front of the courtroom and knocked everyone to the floor.
Miruko came out of the judge's chambers and saw the destruction.
"What the hell! I'm protecting the Judge and Stenographer, and you guys are blowing the courtroom to hell, and back!"
"In my defense." Hawks said. "I was up here." He said flying down.
"Blame Endeavor!" Barbara yelled. "He wouldn't stay caught!"
"You have super speed! Why didn't you use it and capture tape to catch him!"
"Because I would burn through my clothes if I did!"
"Why didn't you change into your costume?"
"H-here? I-in front of everyone?"
"Seriously?"
"Children!" Miss Joke yelled. "Now is not the time for this. Either be the Heroes you trained to be or leave."
Eraser took a roll of capture tape from his pocket and restrained Endeavor.
Judge Sado and Morita San came out of the Judge's Chambers.
"Endeavor!" Judge Sado said. "You will be fined 53973500.00 Yen, a restraining order will be filed against you for your family's protection, and you will spend one year in jail for this little stunt."
Touya looked at Endeavor. 'That's not good enough.' He thought. 'He needs to pay.'
Natsuo, Rei, and Hinata came up out of Natsuo's pocket.
"Whoa." Natsuo said when he saw the destruction.
Musutafu Funeral Parlor
Jason Blood looked out at the room.
Peter, his friends, and their families were standing, waiting for the time to start.
When ten o'clock came around he tapped on the side of the podium. "Please. take your seats."
Everyone sat down.
"Thank you for coming. We are here to honor the life of a mother and a dear friend..."
"And don't forget wife." A voice that made Jason Blood and Haywood's bloodlust spike.
"Willis." Jason Blood said barely keeping his rage in check. "What are you doing here?"
"I just came to pay my respects to my late wife."
Jason Haywood jumped up and created a knife before stalking towards Willis Todd.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't gut you where you stand!" He snarled.
"Because You'd ruin the carpet and upholstery." Willis said with a cocky grin.
"There are other ways of killing you." Johnny said walking up with glowing red eyes and smoking flesh.
"Hold on now." Willis said. "Can't we solve this after the funeral? Besides..." He snapped his fingers and a dozen men came in with their amplified Quirks. "... I might still lose, but so would you."
Jason growled, but stalked back to his seat.
"Stay in the back with the rest of the trash." Johnny said.
"Ooh hoo." Willis said. "You've got a bite. Go on and enjoy the funeral."
Johnny walked back to his seat, but he didn't like it. Jason had to like it even less, and Jason Blood looked like he was ready to blow a fuse.
Jason Blood looked around the room before continuing.
"Rather than having a Eulogy, we will now give everyone the chance to give a few words on Sheila."
Jason Blood stepped down.
Jason Haywood stepped up to the podium.
"My first memories of my mom was when I was four.
That was the day that I met my best friends, but almost got them killed."
"Some friend." Willis said.
Jason ignored the impulse to kill the monster.
"My mom was so scared that I would die. She was so relieved when I didn't..."
"Wasn't that a shame." Willis interrupted.
Everyone flinched at that.
Jason continued.
"Over the years my mom tried to help me become the best version of me that I could, but I disappointed her at every turn."
"Total disappointment." Willis added.
"It took her death for me to realize what she meant by the best version of myself."
"Dead?" Willis asked.
"It meant that rather than let my emotions effect my actions, it means that I should control my emotions, and only when I have completely read and felt out the situation, only then should I act. I made her a promise on her death bed that I would become the Hero that she knew I could be..."
"A dead one?" Willis cut in.
"And in this case. The Hero she knew that I could be. Is an Anti-Hero."
He glared at Willis with a determination that startled the man.
His eyes glowed with an intensity that shook Willis to his core and made him feel something that he hadn't felt in a long time.
Fear.
"Oh fuck." Willis said.
Izuku got up next.
"Haywood San was always nice to us. Whenever we got hurt while playing or training, she was always there to help us.
Whenever she had any spare time to help us with anything, be it homework, problems with school, or problems with each other. She always helped us.
I am grateful that I was able to get to know her and am sad that she is gone."
He left the podium and sat down.
Rogue stood up next.
"Sheila was a great person. She not only raised a child as a single parent, but she was also a great doctor.
She always seemed to have the cure, whether it be her Quirk, advice, or just a different perspective on life.
The world lost a great human being, and a great kid lost a great mother."
She looked in the back at Willis and glared death at him.
Willis could feel her threat loud and clear but didn't move.
Johnny got up next.
"I'll be the first to admit that Sheila was a bit of a hard case, but she cared about all of us. Every time we were over at the Haywood apartment for homework, dinner, sleepovers, whatever we were there for we were always taken care of as if we were her kids.
We are all really close and consider each other family.
So, it wasn't like losing a close family friend.
We all didn't lose a family friend. We lost a mother, or a sister, and in Blood San's case, a lover.
I hope that it gives everyone some comfort in knowing that she is in a good place."
He glared at Willis, and the rage behind his eyes finished his sentiment.
'You won't.'
Willis felt like he wanted to run but couldn't find the strength to move.
Where were his men?
Where was his strength?
Where was his will?
Anna and Elsa stood up and walked to the front.
"We just wanted to say that we will miss Sheila." Elsa said.
"Yeah." Anna added. "I probably wouldn't be here without her."
They walked back to their seats.
Himiko stood up and walked to the front.
"I didn't really know Sheila, but at least she didn't try to hurt me, so in my book she's okay."
She sat down, and Barton stood up.
"Wow. I didn't realize how much of an impact Sheila made on our children."
He wiped a tear away from his eye.
"We all know that Johnny was right, and that she was hard on all of our children, but that's because deep down she wanted them to succeed, and I can tell from the way that they have spoken today that she set them on the right track.
Jason. I expect you to live up to your mothers' expectations. She wouldn't have had them if she didn't think you could do just that."
Jason nodded.
Clara got up.
"Jason. I'm sorry for what happened, and I'm not sure what I can say that's already been said, but I know you. You're going to inspire others with your strength."
She sat down and Inko took her place.
"Sheila was an amazing person, and a great friend."
She started crying.
"It was a pleasure to know her. She always knew what to say when something happened.
She helped me when Izuku was diagnosed as Quirk-less, and through the years when Hisashi was gone. It's sad that she's gone, but as long as we choose to keep her alive, she will always be with us."
Inko sat down and Agnarr and Iduna stood up.
"There isn't much that we can say. We knew Sheila and she was a good friend. We are glad to have known her and know Jason."
Raven stood up.
"Sheila was a good friend. On the days that she had off we would talk about anything we wanted to like a couple of schoolgirls going to the mall.
When she called me at 2:00 in the morning because something was wrong, I would talk her through it.
She would help anyone she could. Even if it was a smile, encouragement, just talking, or even using her Quirk.
She was a good friend, and a great mother."
She glared at Willis who froze at the sheer hatred in her eyes
"The world lost an amazing woman, and an amazing kid lost a wonderful mother.
Jason."
Jason made eye contact with her.
"Your mother was loved, and so were you."
Jason could feel pain coming from Raven.
'Wait. Did Raven have a thing for my mom?' He thought.
Raven sat down.
Jason Blood stood up.
"Thank you. I knew Sheila, and I loved her. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
There is so much that we could say about her, but the most important thing is that we will miss her."
"Wait." Willis said. "I have something to add."
Everyone in the parlor looked at him with hatred and rage behind their eyes.
Jason stepped to the side. "Make it quick." He spoke.
Willis walked to the front and looked at her in the casket.
"When I met Sheila, she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever met, but as work kept me busy, I wasn't able to give her the time she needed, and I chased her into the arms of another."
Everyone looked at him, confused.
"By the time that she left what we had, was gone, and it's my greatest failure as a husband. I should have given her the attention she deserved."
Jason Haywood felt malicious intent coming from Willis, but he wasn't sure why.
"I know that what I did, can't be undone, but I can try to make up for it."
"Jason. I would like to offer you my assistance in becoming the Hero she knew you could be."
"Why?" Jason Haywood asked harshly.
"Because. It's the only thing that I can give you. You don't want my name, and this is the only thing I can do."
He took out a vial and held it over Sheila's casket.
Everyone jumped to their feet.
"Take my hand." Willis said. "Otherwise, I'll drop this."
Everyone glared at Willis.
"Don't try anything." Willis said. "This will eat through anything."
Everyone looked at Jason.
"Fine." Jason said.
He walked up to Willis and reached for his hand.
"Ah." Willis said. "No funny business. Otherwise, I'll drop this."
Jason knew that he wasn't bluffing.
He took his hand.
"That's better." Willis said before activating his Quirk.
"We are standing outside the Musutafu courthouse where the number two Hero, Endeavor, has been rushed to the hospital with multiple third-degree Burns. We are here with the Todoroki family.
Touya! Touya! What happened?"
"Endeavor tried attacking my family. I stopped him." Touya said before he powered through the crowd leading his mother and siblings through the crowd.
"Touya!" A reporter shouted. "What happened? Where did you get those burns?"
"Endeavor. Where do you think?" He asked.
They got out of the crowd of reporters and made their way to the train station.
As soon as they were inside Touya sat down on a seat.
"Fuck." He swore.
He reached into his pocket but forgot that he no longer carried painkillers.
"Fuck!" He yelled in pain.
"What's wrong?" Fuyumi asked.
"The thing about getting burned is that it hurts just as bad the second time." He hissed out in pain.
Natsuo jumped into his pocket and came back out a minute later with a bottle of painkillers.
Touya grabbed them and popped three into his mouth.
He had to wait a few minutes before they kicked in, but they eventually did.
Outside the train.
Hawks flew over the train While Barbara ran besides it, and Aizawa, Miss Joke, and Miruko rode inside the train.
"So." Miruko said to Fuyumi when she walked into their car. "That was pretty intense."
"Yeah." Touya said. "Fuck Endeavor. I hope he dies in prison."
"Touya!" Rei scolded. "Don't swear."
Everyone looked at Rei.
"What?" She asked.
Natsuo and Touya began laughing.
"Ah fuck!" Touya hissed. "It hurts to laugh."
Jason was writhing on the floor as his body began changing.
"What the hell did you do!" Rogue yelled picking Willis up by the shirt and Elsa freezing his hand so he couldn't drop the vial.
"I amplified his Quirk. Enhanced it. Made him better than who he was."
"He was already the best version of himself!" Rogue yelled throwing him across the room into Johnny's arms.
The door opened and Willis's bodyguards came in with Quirks active.
Jason kept writhing as it felt like his body was being ripped apart and put back together.
"What did you do?" Jason Blood asked from Jason's side.
"I simply enhanced his Quirk."
"Why is he in pain then?"
"He's fighting the change. If he fights it then it will feel like he's being ripped apart and could have untold consequences."
Rogue grabbed Willis.
"Like what?" Rogue asked tightening her grip.
The bodyguards moved closer but stopped by a flick of Willis's hands.
"I don't know. It's different for each person."
"Why?" Barton asked.
"What fun is a game without breaking a few rules?"
Rogue threw Willis. "You've fucked up Jason's life enough! Why do you want to hurt him more?"
"He's going to be the greatest Hero in the history of Heroes. His origin story needs to be the most horrific. The best Heroes are the ones with the most trauma."
"You're doing this to make him better?" Iduna asked.
"No. I'm doing this to make him perfect. I will be his Nemesis."
"LEAVE!" Inko shouted. "Leave right now. Or you will find out exactly what parts of the human body are considered small objects!"
Every man in the room flinched and moved their hands protectively over their crotch.
Willis just smiled a smug smile and left.
The others glared at him as he left.
They turned around when they heard cloth tearing and Jason scream in agony.
They looked around and saw that his body had grown massive. He looked like he stood at least ten feet now.
His body was hulking with large bulging muscles, and his skin was a burnt red.
His head was ordained with two large horns on the sides of his head, and two smaller ones near the front.
He passed out and shrank back to his normal size.
"What the hell just happened?" Johnny asked.
The Todoroki family sat in the waiting room while Touya was being treated for his burns.
"So." Rei said. "Tell me everything that I missed out on?"
"It's not pretty." Natsuo said.
"I know. I'm sorry. I..."
"It's not your fault mom!" Natsuo yelled. "It's his." He pointed at the wall. "He hurt you! He hurt us! He almost killed you, and Touya, and Shoto! It's not your fault!"
"I should have done more to protect you." Rei whispered.
"You did all that you could." Fuyumi said squeezing her mom's hand lightly.
"But I could have done more."
"We have a new start." Shoto said in a monotone that surprised everyone. "We have a chance at a new life. A life without him."
"I wish that were true sweetie." Rei said pulling Shoto into a hug.
Shoto remembered this. He remembered his mother's hugs. He remembered the warmth they provided, the safety, and comfort too.
He held his mom as tight as he could and buried his face in her shoulder.
Tears rolled down his face. Why was he crying? It had been so long since he cried. Why was he crying now?
Rei noticed Shoto begin to shake against her and pet his hair. "It's okay. I'm here."
Natsuo and Fuyumi were shocked. The only emotions they had ever seen Shoto display were anger or nothing. To see him actually showing anything else was... well shocking.
Miruko and Barbara watched from the other side of the room.
"Aww." Barbara said, wiping a tear away. "That's sooooo cute."
"Yeah." Miruko said. "I guess it is."
Touya's room
Touya was lying down in bed.
His burns were mostly healed. The healer who healed him needed a lunch break to refuel his Quirk but said that he would be back in thirty to forty minutes.
He was hazy but felt good.
There was a tap on his window that startled him.
He looked over to see Hawks flying outside his window.
Hawks opened the window and sat on the edge.
"So." He spoke. "How's the world's hottest fire user?"
"Are you hitting on me birdie?"
"Not unless you want me to. Blue fire is really hot, so I figured I'd use it."
"Okay."
"Dude, how high are you?"
"5'9"." Touya said.
"Dude!" Hawks laughed. "You totally are!"
The door opened and the doctor, a short, pudgy man, about 5'5", with short, black hair, and came back .
"Oh. Hawks. How are you doing?"
"Just checking in on Touya here. Tell me doc. Will he be able to play the piano again?"
"Ha, ha." The doctor said. "You should get new jokes. I don't even think a miracle could heal them."
Hawks gasped. "You wound me doc."
"Too bad I can't heal pride."
"Your bedside manner sucks dick." Touya grumbled.
"And he would know." Hawks laughed.
"Hawks." Touya said.
"Yes?"
Touya threw a blue fireball at Hawks, knocking him outside.
The doctor closed the window and walked back over to Touya.
"How do you feel?"
"Like shit."
"I'm not surprised. The painkillers we had you on are beginning to wear off. Would you like some more?"
"Will this next bit be painful?"
"Only about as painful as the last one."
"Then no."
"Okay." The doctor said walking over to Touya's right side and touched Touya's face and stomach.
Touya felt his body begin to knit itself back together.
He stayed quiet for the most part, only making small grunts and groans when something was really hurt.
After ten minutes the doctor took a granola bar out of his pocket and began eating it.
"You will be okay. Just rest, and you can leave tomorrow."
"Thanks doc."
The doctor left and Touya drifted off to sleep.
When Jason came to, he was lying in a bed that was both comfortable yet uncomfortable.
His senses were acting up.
His ears hurt because of all the sounds he could hear.
He felt sick from the mix of smells.
He could feel the fabric touching his skin.
He wasn't wearing the suit he'd worn to the funeral.
He locked onto one smell but couldn't place it.
He tasted stale, medicated air.
The smell was getting stronger.
He could see even though his eyes were closed it was bright enough to see.
"Where am I?" He rasped.
He recognized the smell and snapped his eyes open which was a mistake.
He snapped them close and jumped up.
"Jason!" A familiar voice yelled at him. "Jason! Calm down. You're in the hospital!"
He listened to the voice and calmed down.
"Inko?" He panted. "What happened?"
Inko told him what had happened, and that the others were at the cemetery.
"They said that they would record the graveside service for you." She spoke.
"So did you draw the short straw?" He asked.
"No! I volunteered."
"Okay."
"You're really calm for someone who was told that Willis Todd is your Nemesis."
"He's not." Jason said pulling the I.V. Out of his hand.
He got up, and walked to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror.
"I'm taller." He said looking in the mirror.
"Yes. Willis enhanced your Quirk. He said that the reason you were in so much pain was because you were fighting it."
"Of course, I was fighting it." Jason said. "I don't want anything that bastard could give me."
"He said that there could be negative side effects if you fought it."
"Okay. Were there?"
"I'm not sure. You grew in size, almost double."
"Did Izuku make a sketch?"
Inko took out a piece of paper and gave it to him.
Jason looked over the paper and saw what could be a demon.
A note said that he was anywhere from ten to twelve feet.
The sketch had huge, bulging muscles, and burnt red skin.
A note said that his body gave off an enormous amount of heat.
The drawing had four horns on his head. Two on the sides, and two closer to the front.
"What did he do to me?" Jason asked.
"I'll go get the doctor." Inko said.
Inko left the room leaving Jason alone.
'Hello?' Jason asked.
There was no answer.
'Hello? Is anyone there?'
There was still no answer.
'Efreeti?'
He gave up after the third try.
Inko came back with a doctor.
"Hello there young man." A short, pudgy man, who stood about 5'5" tall, with short, black hair said. "My name is Doctor Tanaka. Are you feeling any discomfort?"
"No." Jason said. "I'm not feeling any discomfort."
"Then is there anything that I can do?"
"My Quirk was enhanced against my will. Can you tell me what happened?"
"I will get the specialists who can help you, here as soon as possible."
"Thank you."
"You're most welcome young man." Doctor Tanaka said before leaving.
Jason sat against the wall.
Inko looked at Jason. He looked so defeated.
"Jason?" She asked. "Are you okay?"
"No." Jason said. "I feel so... I don't know. I feel so... so."
"Violated?" Inko asked.
Jason's throat burned. "Yes. I didn't want my quirk enhanced. It's fine the way it is. I don't even know what this enhancement will do."
Inko didn't know what to say, so she did the only thing that she could.
She wrapped herself in a blanket and hugged Jason.
Jason looked at her, confused.
"Your body produces a lot of body heat now. When we tried moving you after the incident you burned Raven.
"Is she all right?!" Jason asked worried.
"Yeah. She's fine."
Jason sighed in relief. "Um. I have a weird question."
"What is it?"
"Did Raven have a crush on my mom?"
"Yes. It wasn't a secret. Your mom knew about it, but she said that her first priority was raising you."
Jason wiped his eyes. "Did I get in the way of my mom's happiness?"
"What? No. How can you ask that?"
"Do you think my mom had a thing for Raven?"
"It wasn't a secret. Your mom would have tried it once, and if she liked it then they would have kept it going."
"What about my dad?"
"I don't know. Your mom tried to do what was best for you."
"At the cost of her own happiness?!"
"I don't have all the answers."
Jason smacked his head against the wall.
The door opened, and another Doctor walked in.
"Young Haywood?" She spoke.
"Yeah?" Jason asked.
"I am Doctor Suzuki. Doctor Tanaka said that you had some Quirk related issues?"
"Yeah. My Quirk was forcefully enhanced by another Quirk."
"Oh. I see. Do you know what your enhanced Quirk does?"
"That's what I wanted to find out."
"Okay. How do you usually activate your Quirk?"
Jason created a Hellfire knife.
"Okay. Did anything feel different?"
"Not really?"
"Have there been any changes?"
"His body temperature is higher than normal."
The doctor grabbed a thermometer and held it to Jason's forehead.
The thermometer beeped, and the doctor looked at it.
"200 degrees Fahrenheit." She spoke. "Do you feel sick at all?"
"No. I feel fine."
"Okay. Is there anything else?"
"When his Quirk was first enhanced, he changed."
"Really? Into what?"
Jason handed her the drawing.
"My son sketched that."
"Did you look like this?"
"I guess. I was in a lot of pain."
"I guess that you were fighting the enhancement?"
"Wouldn't you if it was forced on you?"
"That falls under the assault and rape laws. If you know who the offender is then you can file a report."
"He can?" Inko asked.
"Yes."
They looked at Jason.
Jason looked inwardly. He wanted Willis Todd dead, but if he went to prison, he wouldn't be able to...
"I'd like to file that report." Jason said. 'If I can get Willis in an isolated area then I can take him out on my own time. After completely destroying him.'
Touya woke up feeling better than he had in a long time.
He stretched and yawned.
"Morning sleeping beauty." Hawks said.
"Go fuck yourself." He said rolling out of bed.
"Why should I when I have you for that?" Hawks asked.
"That was once." Touya said darkly.
"Admit it. You loved that night."
Touya closed the bathroom door and looked at himself.
"Is this about what your family would think?" Hawks asked outside the door. "Because I can tell you that Miruko feels the same way about Fuyumi..."
"Miruko and Fuyumi have known each other for less than a week?" Touya said. "How the hell can she love someone after only a week?"
"Ever hear of love at first sight?"
"That's some fairytale bullshit, and how does Miruko know that Fuyumi reciprocates her feelings?"
"There's this little thing called dating." Hawks said sarcastically. "You know the thing we've been doing for the last three years?"
"What do you call the two years before that?"
"Friend zone. We were both feeling each other out before we felt each other up. If you catch my drift."
"A corpse could have caught that."
"You should know."
"Fuck you."
"Only if you ask... whoops. Uh. Touya. You have some visitors."
"I'll be out in a minute." Touya said splashing some water in his face and rinsing his mouth out.
He used the bathroom, washed his hands, and walked out to see his family and their bodyguards.
"How are you feeling?" Rei asked.
Touya lit his hands on fire. "110 percent." He spoke.
"Then let's go get lunch." Fuyumi said.
Touya got dressed in the clothes that Hawks had brought him, and they walked to the cafeteria.
They were sitting there when Shoto noticed someone.
"What's he doing here?" Shoto asked, more to himself than anyone else.
Touya looked over to see a kid with black hair that seemed to tint red when the light hit it just right. It looked like the kid who helped protect that girl in Nezu's office, and... he wanted to facepalm. It was the same kid who helped him.
"Do you know him Shoto?" He asked.
"From school." Shoto said.
"What's he doing in the hospital?" Rei asked.
Touya got up and walked over to him.
"Hey kid." He spoke.
The kid turned around. "Oh. Hey. You're Shoto's brother, right?"
"Yeah, but cut the crap. You're the kid in the armor."
"Guilty. What about it?"
"Thanks." Touya said gruffly. "For what you did."
"Don't mention it."
"So. What are you in for?"
"Some ass hole forced a Quirk enhancement on me."
"They what?"
"His Quirk was the ability to enhance other Quirks. He forced a Quirk enhancement on me like he was doing me a favor."
"Are you going after him?"
"Yeah."
"Want some help?"
"If you're offering, but I want to kill him."
"I'm in, but can you help me kill Endeavor?"
"I'm assuming you want to deal the final blow?"
"Yeah."
"I'm game." The kid said extending his hand to shake.
Touya took the kids hand and noticed how hot it was. It wasn't uncomfortable by any means, but it was still startling.
The two shook hands before going their separate ways.
Touya sat down at his table.
"What was that about?" Natsuo asked.
"I just wanted to thank him for helping me."
"Aw." Hawks said. "You're just a big softie."
"I'll burn you." Touya threatened.
"Why is he in the hospital?" Fuyumi asked.
"Apparently someone forced a Quirk enhancement on him."
Rei, Fuyumi, And Barbara gasped in horror.
Natsuo, Miruko, and Hawks looked pissed.
Shoto showed no real emotion.
"Yeah." Touya said.
Jason sat down at his table and thought about killing Willis Todd.
Aizawa and Emi sat down on the far side of the room.
"Did you hear what they said?" Emi asked.
"Yeah." Aizawa said.
"What are we going to do?"
"I'm going to bring this up to Nezu, and we are going to find out whoever hurt Haywood. Then we're going to put him and Endeavor in a maximum-security prison for their own protection."
"Tartarus?"
"I don't think we can pull that, but we can try."
"Haywood and Todoroki didn't deserve what happened to them, but is murder really what they think the answer is?"
"Considering what's happened to them I'm not surprised, but we need to try and stop them from becoming Villains."
"They are victims."
"That's not how the Hero commission would see it." Aizawa growled.
Emi punched the bridge of her nose. "I hate this."
"So do I." Aizawa said. "So do I."
AN: So, a lot of stuff happened in this chapter. I don't know how a custody hearing goes so I looked it up and the internet, and it said that the judge is the one who makes the decision. So, I wrote it how I thought it would go. Chances are its wrong. If it is, please let me know so I can go back and change it.
Then there is Sheila's funeral. Which was Willis trying to be a Lex Luthor-esque villain and making him a worthy adversary/hero.
You might think that some of the characters are out of character. To this I can only say that they are in high stress situations or they have spent too much time around Jason, Johnny, and Rogue.
