A/N: Welcome to the NINETEENTH chapter of Abnormal Childhood where our heroes will come face to face with the Ginyu Force. So, without further ado, here goes. Enjoy!
"This is a bad idea," I opined as we hurried back to Mom.
"This is crazy," agreed Krillin.
"Just fly as fast as you can," ordered Vegeta.
"Yes, boss," I muttered, rolling my purple eyes.
We flew for a while as the Ginyu Force landed.
"We're running out of time!" declared Vegeta. "The Ginyu Force has landed."
"No kidding," I responded as we finally reached Mom and Krillin grabbed the four star ball.
"Hey, what's the big idea?" demanded Mom.
"Sorry, no time to explain, Bulma," apologized Krillin. "I need the Dragon Ball."
"Quickly now, follow me to the others," said Vegeta and they took off.
"Hey, hold on a second. Come back!" called Mom.
"Sorry, Mom, but we have to hurry," I explained, kissing her on the cheek as Gohan and I followed them. "Love you!"
~ Abnormal Childhood ~
"It's down there!" shouted Vegeta and we landed.
"Krillin, we can't," I murmured.
"Come on!" urged Vegeta as he ran over to the other Dragon Balls and picked one up then glanced back at us. "What are you waiting for?! What is it?!"
"You know, Lorren's right," said Krillin. "This doesn't seem like a good idea. We might be better off taking our chances than letting him have his wish."
I nodded. "We'd only be creating an even bigger monster."
"This isn't a game," grumbled Vegeta. "Give me that ball."
"No," I told him.
Vegeta glared at us. "I'm losing my patience."
I crossed my arms over my chest. "Too bad. Deal's off."
"You ignorant fools! You'll kill us all!" He yelled as the Ginyu Force arrived.
"Here we go," I noted dryly.
"Hello, Vegeta," greeted one who had purple skin and horns on the side of his head.
"Hi, mate," said another. He had red skin and long white hair.
"It's been a long time," mused a third with blue skin as they all laughed.
"Damn it," swore Vegeta. "Not now, we're so close."
"Oh man," muttered Krillin. "How did they get here so fast? I thought we had more time."
"We've come to collect you and the Dragon Balls, Vegeta," announced the purple one.
"Hey, captain. Looks like we got the other five Dragon Balls right here," noticed a really tall guy with orange hair as he looked behind them.
Vegeta rounded on Krillin. "If you only would have listened to me!"
"How was I supposed to know?" shot back Krillin.
"This is going to be even easier than I expected," remarked the captain. "I should thank you, Vegeta, having all seven Dragon Balls packaged up so neatly for us, but you'll understand if I don't."
"Don't get too cocky, Ginyu!" retorted Vegeta. "You haven't beaten me yet."
The last member of their squad glared at Vegeta as he inched towards him. The guy was only a little taller than Gohan and I were, had green skin, a bald head, and four eyes.
"What's his problem?" I asked Vegeta.
"You think you're pretty smart, don't you?" Greenie spat at Vegeta before he could respond. "Well, this time you won't have Frieza to save your scrawny carcass. How I've waited for this!"
"Just making friends wherever you go, huh Vegeta?" I remarked.
Vegeta smirked. "Guldo, you're still a freak."
Guldo yelled and ran at him but the big one held him back. "Now hold up there, Guldo. Frieza wants him back alive, remember?"
"Vegeta, don't be silly," said Ginyu. "You'll save us all a lot of trouble if you hand over the Dragon Balls. Come on now."
"Heh. Yeah right," sneered Vegeta. "Next you'll ask me to surrender so you can take me back to Frieza. Is that the plan?"
"Something like that," replied Ginyu with a smirk of his own.
"Go to Hell!" shouted Vegeta as he leapt into the air and threw the Dragon Ball he had been holding which was instantly retrieved by the blue one.
"Nice try," he jeered, grinning.
"Holy cow," I breathed. "I could barely keep up. What is with his insane speed?"
"A valiant effort, Vegeta, but as you can see, my friend Burter here loves a good game of catch," crowed Ginyu. "And now, the other one please."
Vegeta looked back at Krillin. "Destroy it!"
Krillin grimaced and raised his fist as the ball suddenly disappeared. "W-what happened?"
We all turned at the sound of snickering to see Guldo had it.
"So, then it's true what they say," mused Vegeta.
"You gonna tell us what they say?" inquired Krillin.
"I never believed it," began Vegeta. "But Guldo has the ability to freeze an instant of time."
"That's why he's on the squad," I realized. "I was wondering since his power level isn't high."
"No way! Impossible!" exclaimed Krillin.
"Just keep thinking that," said Guldo.
"Alright, we have what we came for," noted Ginyu. "Now to deal with these four. Make sure you treat them nicely, boys."
"Yean and when he says 'treat them nicely' that doesn't mean we're gonna buy you flowers or nothing like that," clarified the red one. "No, it means we're gonna kill you!"
"Thanks for clearing that up," I muttered, rolling my eyes.
"Come on!" urged Krillin. "We can still make a run for it."
"It's no use," Vegeta told him. "We can't run from this. We have no choice, but to stand and fight."
"I hate to say it, but Vegeta's right,' I agreed.
"If we combine our powers, we might hold out long enough to find some weakness we can exploit," figured Vegeta.
"Or at the very least, we'll be able to last until Goku gets here," I replied. "According to Mom, he should get here soon."
"I'll handle Vegeta," declared Ginyu. "The rest of you can do that rock-paper-scissors thing to decide who gets the other three."
I glanced over at Gohan who was shaking with fear. I grabbed his hand and squeezed, smiling at him when he stared at me. "Remember, we're a team. You're not in this alone, Gohan. I'm right here with you."
Gohan smiled back and nodded. "Thanks, Lorren."
"Come on, captain. Let me have Vegeta," pleaded Guldo. "I owe him one."
"Alright, fine. You win!" conceded Ginyu. "Have at Vegeta, but you better make sure he's still breathing when you bring him back to Frieza."
"Wow, I bet you feel special," I remarked to Vegeta as Ginyu's goons cheered.
"And who are we?" demanded Ginyu.
"We are the Ginyu Force!" They answered.
"Oh please," I murmured.
"Okay, who gets who? You ready, boys?" asked the tall one.
"Bring it on," I retorted. "Anything's better than watching you idiots fool around."
"Girl's a fiery one," remarked the red one as they commenced their stupid game.
"Are you sure we shouldn't be trying to get away?" inquired Gohan as the tall one won.
"Yes! I get Vegeta!" he announced, unnecessarily.
"You always win," grumbled Guldo.
"Now, don't be a sore loser," said Ginyu. "Fair is fair."
"I'll tell you what," offered the tall one. "I'll let you have a few hits if you want, Guldo."
Ginyu smirked and started to fly away with the Dragon Balls. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to take these Dragon Balls to Lord Frieza."
Gohan powered up. "Take this, you big bully."
"From us to you," I added, charging up.
"He's gone. Save your energies," Vegeta advised us. "Concentrate on the four who are still here. If we can defeat them, we'll catch up to him later."
"Fine," I grunted as we powered down.
Vegeta then switched his attention to Krillin. "You! Come over here. You have to use your heads. A direct assault won't work. Do you understand?"
"Yeah," acknowledged Krillin.
"Didn't you say earlier that Kakarrot was supposed to be coming here to save everybody?" asked Vegeta.
"Don't know about you, but he's coming to save Gohan, Lorren, and me," confirmed Krillin.
"I'm not trying to win a popularity contest here," muttered Vegeta. "All I'm saying is we could use his help right now."
"We'll get the Dragon Balls back," I assured Gohan.
"I can't let Piccolo down," he replied.
"I know," I murmured. "And we can't let Frieza get his wish either. For now though, we're gonna have to listen to Vegeta, until your dad gets here anyway."
Gohan nodded and we took our fighting stances.
"Hey there, Guldo," said the tall one. "Why don't you go ahead and take your turn first?"
"Now that you mention it, I suppose it is the best thing to do," Guldo agreed. "After all, we got to get the trash out of the way to crush Vegeta."
"Who are you calling trash, ugly?" I shot back.
"Alright, it's time to see what you're made of," remarked Vegeta unnecessarily as we walked forward.
"Listen up, you two. Remember the power you have within," Krillin advised us as we powered up, jumped into the air, and fired energy blasts at Guldo who suddenly disappeared and reappeared somewhere else, dodging our attacks.
"Darn him! He froze time again!" I realized.
"Yeah, but we'll get him," responded Krillin. "That was amazing, you two! If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed you had it in you."
"That makes two of us," said Gohan. "Thanks to Guru, I've never felt stronger."
"Me too," I acknowledged as we flew towards Guldo who froze time again except this time he didn't get very far away.
"There he is!" yelled Krillin.
"Alright, let's try this again," I suggested as we finally managed to hit him.
"I guess old four eyes didn't see that coming," mused Krillin.
"Someone looks like he's out of breath," I noted.
"All this time stopping must be wearing him down," figured Krillin. "Now let's end this before he gets his strength back. Ready? On my mark, now!"
Guldo froze time and hid.
"He did it again!" shouted Krillin.
"Cheater," I grumbled. "Where'd he go?"
"Come on," urged Krillin. "We gotta find him."
We flew around for a bit until Gohan spotted Guldo cowering behind a ridge. We blasted him, sending the freak flying.
"Hey, Guldo," called the redheaded one. "Here's the deal. If you can't beat those punks, and I mean quick, then you're out of the Ginyu Force."
"Yeah and not to mention your spot on the bowling team," added White Hair.
"Guess there's no loyalty among jerks," I remarked.
"Now's our chance," declared Krillin. "Charge him full power.
"It's time to pull out all the stops!" exclaimed Guldo, freezing just us.
"What is this?" I demanded, struggling. "I can't move!"
Guldo laughed. "How you like that trick? It's a little something I like to call my mind bend."
"Come on, you guys," grunted Krillin. "We can't give up now."
"I'm trying," I replied.
"Go ahead, fight it," sneered Guldo. "Struggle all you want. You're mine! Get ready. I'm gonna finish you off nice and slow."
Guldo shot rocks at us then went up to Gohan. "Little baby's not so tough, after all."
The jerk then hit and kicked Gohan.
"Gohan, no," I murmured, but I couldn't break free of Guldo's attack as he moved on to Krillin and me.
"That's enough goofing around," ordered the redheaded one. "Get on with it already!"
"Do I have to come up there and kill them for you?" inquired White Hair.
"Still not too late to kick you off the force," threatened Burter.
Guldo used his psychic ability to lift a tree out of the ground, strip it, sharpen it, and send it right at us.
"No, I have to break free," said Gohan. "I can't disappoint Piccolo!"
"Now, let's see here, who dies first?" mused Guldo. "Sorry, baldy. That big shiny head of yours gave you away. It's way too easy a target to pass up."
"Forget about me, you two!" Krillin told us. "Save yourselves!"
"It's no use," responded Gohan. "I still can't move a muscle!"
"Ready or not, time to die!" exclaimed Guldo as Vegeta sliced his head off, setting us free.
"Harsh mush?" I muttered as we landed next to Vegeta. "Though you did save us."
"I certainly didn't expect you'd be the one to help us," remarked Krillin.
"Thank you," said Gohan.
"Keep your thanks," grumbled Vegeta. "I had my own reasons for wanting to destroy that freak. I saw my moment to strike and acted on it, that's all. It had nothing to do with saving your lives."
"Yeah I figured," I responded. "But it's still polite to say THANK YOU!"
