A/N: Okay, so ... I did my best adapting my own plot to this crossover story so please bare with me.
Thank you to everyone who continue reading and supporting this AU story.
I own nada, just my OC, but I hope you enjoy.
"Why don't you just go back to where you came from!?" Rex hollered at the pair; over the loud gusts of wind blowing in their faces from flying so fast in the air as all three of them flew around a water tower.
"We're trying to, ya doof!" Big Chill called back sideways over his shoulder.
"And by that, he means cute doof!" G called out.
"Not helping, babe." Big Chill lightly reprimanded.
"Sorry!" She then added, pouting whilst mumbling, "It's true, though."
"I'm right here."
"Sorry." She guiltily smiled.
"No you're not." He knew her too well.
He then dove down, tightening his arms around her as she yelped loudly at the surprise dip; burying her face in the crook of his neck, as he got as low as he could before literally flying several feet above the road in the empty barren town they arrived at; Rex closing some distance between them. She then yelped again as he maneuvered his flight path to have himself descend slowly upon the top of a chimney, at the same time that Rex landed on the exact same roof before them; the Boogie Pack retreating back in.
"Rex, if you raise a hand at me, I swear to God – !" She grumbled.
The sight of Big Chill turning his head to the side to breathe out and form a icy slide sloping straight down. "Slide down fast and gain some distance. I'll be there in a sec." He quickly, gently dropped her fanny at the starting line.
"Uh, wait a minute! I don't think I'm prepared for – oh gawd!" His firm push against her shoulders was enough.
Just as Rex formed his Punk Busters, Big Chill got in a defensive stance, with Rex charging with his right giant robot fist taking a swing at him. Only to meet a chilling breath; coating the surface with an icy sheen. "Next time, I should just suck it up and use the wings – aah~!" She cried out; her eyes suddenly glowing its usual blue the moment her bum got off the slide as she immediately focused in making an energy shield to rest her bum on, skidding too quickly for her to gain control, startling the two dudes from the loud sound of something crashing.
Big Chill's hand rested atop the frozen fist and lowered it down to get a view of what was going on on the other side; Rex turned his head to see too but just barely, turning back and visually gritting his teeth at his frosty foe.
"Oh no!" Big Chill flied on outta there.
"What?" His frozen fist easily shook off the ice; spinning his fist like a drill.
"Are you alright?" Big Chill asked as he hovered above her; the shield now dissipated as she was upside down on her back, her limbs splayed out against the outdoor table she crashed in before turgidly pulling herself together and sitting on seat of said outdoor table.
"Aside from being a bit peeved at you for pushing me down that slide and on such short notice too … peachy." She then felt her heart sink as his gaze switched to the sign of the fast food joint they were at; now closed for the night, hovering down as he transformed back; his eyes appalled at the sight of one Bob's Biscuit Barn. "I didn't want to tell you and spare you the pain, but …"
"Mr. Smoothy isn't here. That's messed up."
Once more, the Boogie pack retreated as Rex landed a few feet behind him. "My partner is in a coma. If you're stressing over a frozen drink, you are totally getting punk busted!"
"It's his favorite brand of beverage," G softly commented, earning a raised brow look from Rex. "Just wanted to let you know."
"We're in Bellwood, my hometown, where it should be." Ben heatedly glared as he turned to face Rex; who was also glaring right back at him, until Ben's glare fell apart at the seams. "But it's all … different. Part of me hoped it wouldn't be but this pretty much proves it."
"This doesn't prove anything!" Rex wasn't having it.
"You know the friend you care about?! Well I have a cousin, a grandfather, a best friend that I care about! They don't exist here! I may never see them again! I'm totally alone." Ben looked devastated, shoulders and head drooping as he turned his back to Rex. "So go ahead! Do your worst!"
But before either could say another word or make one more move, Ben tensed up as he felt hands touching his back, but then he loosened up as the familiarity of their gentle caress began running up his back soothingly before one of them trailed down his arm sleeve to take his watch clad hand into theirs; intertwining their fingers whilst also squeezing reassuringly. It compelled him to look over and see G standing there; fatigue and ache painted her expression, but her brown eyes showcased how enamored she is of him.
"You can't forget me so easily … I won't let you." Her eyes; glowing for a moment, looked hurt at being forgotten.
His shoulders hunched a bit, guiltily smiling. "Sorry … got caught up in the moment there."
"I forgive you … if you keep to your word. That we stick together … no splitting up … never again." Her eyes; returning to its normal brown, also glistened with tears.
He felt an intense, burning pull on his heart strings at the sight. "I will." He then embraced her, taking this quiet moment to ease up, breathing in her scent which helped calm him down, for he wasn't really on his own. "So, you think you got enough in you to make a rift for us to get back to home turf?"
"I could … though it'd take all I have and now – ugh." She felt lightheaded as her legs turned to jelly; the jolt of adrenaline from riding down Big Chill's makeshift slide already gone, making her fall forward, right into Ben's arms; leaning against his firm form for standing support. "Yeah we – we're not there yet."
"Then, what now?" Ben asked.
G then looked over to Rex; giving him a pleading face, eyes and pout wavering as she hoped he'd lend a helping hand.
Rex's stern face crumbled as her hopeful smile made him finally cave in, groaning a bit. "Maybe we can … help each other."
Ben, a bit conflicted on believing it, pulled away from her slightly to give Rex quite a dubious glance, suspicious of the sudden offer, before a tug on his jacket sleeve made him look back down at G; her enthusiastic nodding and excited smile gave him the needed push. "You'd … do that?"
"Of course he would, as it's typical of a hero crossover for the main two heroes to team up." G chirped up.
Both guys gave her quite the befuddled look.
" … What the hell are you talking about now?" Rex exasperated.
"About Doc saying I knew exactly what would happen today … yeah she wasn't far off the mark. I know lots of things … including you two meeting and henceforth. Though my own involvement in all this is totally on me, which means I could have started a chain reaction of new, unforeseen events that could prove both intriguing … and devastating … " She ominously trailed off, looking quite conflicted.
"G, look, it's been a long day and my head can only take in so much at once." Rex held his head from a slight pounding in his headache.
"Look, dude, she may be a goofball, but when she's serious, she ain't messing around." Ben looked serious to boot.
"Hey, you're the doofus whose stuck with this goofball, so there!" She pouted, poking his cheek for emphasis.
"Adorable goofball, then." Ben teased, poking her on the nose in return.
"Oh, forget it!" G slumped her head in fake defeat against his chest, smiling from the vibrations of his chuckle she felt wracking through him; Rex smiling a bit at the goofy pair of new allies.
000
A strange sound was then heard; wind whipping it sounded like, alerting them three.
"What's that sound?" Ben asked.
Strong winds whipped their hair and clothes; G could barely keep her eyes open, as they spotted a small Providence craft floating down and landing a few feet before them; a pod laboratory if you will.
"My brother." Rex replied.
Ben's arms slid a bit further and firmer around G's waist; keeping his guard up just in case. "Is he like you?"
"Uh … no. Caesar's a little crazy and he's working for the wrong side. But otherwise, not so bad." Rex assured, grinning.
But the sight of the automatic door sliding open to reveal the older Salazar brother; wielding and aiming a giant tech gun of some kind at them, did not bode well for them.
"What constitutes not so bad here on opposite world?" Ben asked, sarcasm dripping.
"Us getting burgers, for starters?" She touched her tummy; a whole day of no consumption contributed to her already struggling state of getting back to decent enough strength, when her thoughts were interrupted by Caesar firing his blaster gun right at Rex. "Oh, I know where – AH!"
"Here!" On quick reflex, Ben released her and pushed her over, knocking her completely into Rex; who stumbled a bit as he caged her tightly in his arms as well, getting them both out of harm's way just in time for Ben to slide on in and become the new target for the laser beam. Slamming the dial and turning into Diamondhead, he reflected the beam right back at the source; short circuiting the gun as it dropped from Caesar's hands.
"No! We need that!"
Rex released G from his embrace before picking up said weapon. "To blow my head off!?"
Caesar dropped down to meet on ground level, pointing sky high. "To stop THAT!"
"What is that?" Rex asked about the floating ball of wispy red energy zipping about overhead them before landing atop Caesar's pod; taking a red energy humanoid form with blank eyes.
"A bad, bad thing." G muttered the exact same words as Caesar in joint unison; alarming Diamondhead a bit at the timing.
"Why would you speak of me so, Father? I am your Alpha. I came home. You are pleased?"
"No … not especially."
Alpha zipped right to the ground before grabbing Caesar by the collar. Rex charges forward to intervene only to get a face full of Alpha's energy created shield, knocking Rex right flat on his back; G hurried over to help him sit up to which Rex smiled a bit grateful to her.
"What has happened here? Why so many brothers?" Alpha asked before dropping Caesar; who landed roughly on one knee.
"We had an accident."
"The bodies I built, Father, they still do not last. But my brothers are free. I can control them. They could help make me complete." G felt wary as Alpha eyed not just Rex but then towards her as well; the creepy vibes she got were not pleasant. "AAAAH!" Alpha's unstable form made him tumble to his own knees, holding his energy arm from the pain.
Caesar held up an arm as Rex ran up to get closer, trying to keep him away, "Rex, stay back!"
"I am still weak, Father. I need more. Will you help me live?" Those glowing pleading eyes as his hands reached out; asking for help to live as its energy was disintegrating away, it all gave G quite the mixed bag of feelings jumbled up inside her; making her feel somewhat bad for the evident foe, knowing just how this will all go.
"I don't believe so, Alpha."
"That … is a very disappointing response." Alpha floated up on high, the eerily calm tone plus the threatening posture gave off such red flag warnings signs in G's mind.
"Then you really won't like THIS one!" Diamondhead moved quickly when she wasn't looking and chucks a left hook right at Alpha; a sharp snapping sound heard as Alpha's back smacked against the ground; the force of it making him bounce off, before landing on his knees, near enough to her and Rex.
"Don't let it touch him!" Caesar commanded Diamondhead.
As Rex formed his Bad Axes; the energized blades gleaming bright, G felt the urge to have her balled up fists project some created energy of her own; just as a precaution, earning curious eyes from Rex … but also Alpha.
"You control nanites … yet you are human." Alpha referred to Rex, curious. "And you … not fully human yet your nanites are teeming with tremendous energy." Alpha turned to G, who tensed up on the spot. "How is this possible? Tell me the secret." His clawed glowing hand outstretched in her direction. Rex was ready to chop it clean off –
"Hands off, bub!" Many diamond shards chucked endlessly through Alpha's head, making his form fall apart into a glowing red wispy stream that took off through the sky.
Ben transformed back into his human self and hurried over to check on G who murmured, "Okay … that's new to the script."
Rex undid his build before confronting his older bro. "Uhhh Caesar, WHAT is that thing? Why did it call you Father?"
Caesar's eyes were trained on where he believed Alpha was headed. "It's migrating. We have to follow it, now!" Caesar grabbed Rex's shoulders, dragging his bro into his pod; the couple following suite.
000
"These were gathered from the area of the space time rift. And you'll find them everywhere Alpha goes." Caesar presented a closed tube jar to the guys; a swarm of nanites floating about in there.
"I take it those are nanites?" Ben pointed.
"Dead nanites, drained by the entity you just fought. And incidentally, the thing that dragged you here from your Earth." Caesar cleared some things up.
"His earth? He really is from a parallel world?" Rex reiterated.
"Science class, much?" Ben grinned opposite of Rex's frown.
"I believe it's been searching for a way home. It was possibly attracted to your weapon before it found its way here. A powerful device, no doubt." Caesar pointed at the alien watch, amazement in his tone.
"It's called the Ultimatrix. It has the DNA of a million aliens." Ben tugged on his jacket sleeve to hide the watch out of sight.
"Right, aliens. And leprechauns gave me these goggles!" Rex's joke did not wipe away Ben's not having it expression.
"Aliens, Nephilims, EVOs, we're all one big weird collective bunch, huh?" G nonchalantly mused off to the side as she sat in Caesar's rolling desk chair on the other side of the table, earning exasperation from Rex and a small amused grin from Ben. "I like variety, sue me." She shyly looked away, folding her arms on the table, laying her blushing face down.
"I'm also aware that you were the one that made the previous rift Providence picked up on their scanners earlier today. Follow that trek of logic and it would make sense to say that first rift caused a sort of chain reaction that allowed the second rift to form. My scanners picked up your unique energy signature when I found you all." Caesar's crazy fascination lite up in his eyes as he approached G across the table. "A hybrid entity teeming with strange energy that can literally distort the physics between space and time … your physiology is an anomaly in and of itself. One I want to study, quite thoroughly, if you wouldn't mind …" The crazy gleam in Caesar's eyes made G gulp and claw at the skin of her arms, scooting back due to how close he was getting.
Ben's protective instinct kicked in as he pulled out the watch, his other hand reaching the dial, glaring bullets at the elder mad scientist, but Rex grabbing his hand halted him, shaking his head for no at the watch wielder, also wanting to switch his brother's focus to Alpha and not the girl.
"First things first … I'm curious how big brother knows so much about a thing from a parallel dimension." Rex asked the million dollar question.
It got his brother back on track, alright.
"Because I sent it there. In the early days of the nanite program, our goal was simple: construct micro machines to cure diseases, grow new cells, regenerate bones. But there was a control issue. Some thought a human machine link was the answer. Others proposed that the machines could control themselves. I was in the latter camp. I developed the Alpha to command other nanites. To maximize its effectiveness, I had to program Alpha to think for itself." Caesar lengthily explained, leaving a relieved G be, for now.
"Does a long explanation mean something bad on your Earth, too?" Ben dreaded the response.
"Yup." Rex was used to it, but that didn't mean he liked it.
G frowned; filled with guilt and dread, as she started mentally drawing parallels between Alpha's past and situation to her own.
"Alpha developed its own consciousness. It evolved into a unique life-form and wanted a body. But whatever it built burnt out. So when Alpha attempted possessing living things …" Caesar moved over to a computer, typing in things in order to bring an image up on the screen. "Alpha had to be eliminated. So I built a dimensional disruptor." He stepped aside to show the schematics of the weapon on screen.
"That sounds like a Null Void gun. We've got those on my Earth, too." Ben pointed out.
"I designed it to send the Alpha to an empty space where it wouldn't do any more damage. That's what I was attempting to do again … until you destroyed it." Caesar explained the stunt he pulled from earlier.
"But … the Null Void isn't empty. It's a prison for intergalactic criminals!" Ben exclaimed; Rex's jaw dropped.
"Hmm … I see. Then clearly it found a host within a mechanical one. Alpha did always have a way with machines. It's been gaining mass and energy from machines and other nanites. If it's able to stabilize a host body … there's no limit to the amount of damage it can cause."
Out of the corner of her eye, G saw on her own small screen beside her the sight of Alpha attempting to possess a giant winged bug EVO, draining it of its nanites until the EVO turned to literal dust with Alpha glowing more vibrant, more fiery, zipping in closer to their ship.
"So just cook up another bazooka thingy and let's go zap it!" Rex made the gun blasting motions.
"Uh, people?" She spoke up.
Then the ship started shaking for it was under attack!
"Too late for that, Rex!" Caesar spotted the roof of the craft burning away to reveal Alpha up top, narrowed eyes trained on him as Caesar bolted through the double doors leading to the center segment of the craft, pulling out a remote. "Lo siento, miho!"
"Tell me that's a new weapon!" Rex pleaded desperately.
He hit the eject center segment button on the remote screen, sealing the doors in front of him. Then down came the metal barrier, separating them from the escape capsule that ejected right off the ship; Caesar was getting the hell outta there.
"CAESAR!" Rex shouted out over the strong winds coming from the Alpha made hole up top.
"Figures." G grumbled out. "Aw shit – !"
Cue in the explosion.
A/N: Honestly, I do not know what to make of this part.
I wanted to add a bit more action.
But I will make up for it next part ... cause a LOT is gonna go down. Hopefully, you all will stick around to check it out when it comes out.
So, fave/follow/save/share/comment/etc.
Until next time, bye bye~!
