I'm a little paranoid that somebody won't know this and get mad at me, so I'm telling you now. XD The term slurred can refer to weird speech pattern, such as the combining or mispronunciation of words while in a dazed state.

Also, I made a drabble that goes with this called First Impressions. It was originally in this chapter, but it got too long and felt out of place, so it had to be cut. It's still canon with the story, all my drabbles are. (unless specified otherwise.)

Ok, we good? Alright, proceed XD

After thanking Thatch, (every kiss begins with k~) Casper took Dudley to Caps ship, and they took the duck straight home. Now it was nightfall, Casper, Ra, and Mantha were eating some snacks in his room. Through the havoc of the evening, they had missed dinner. While they were eating, they were watching some funny videos on Casper's laptop.

This is when Mantha and Ra started to notice something…weird about Casper.

He was acting kind of strange, like he was very giggly, and even slurred his words sometimes.

He seemed sort of…tipsy…

"Casp, are you alright?" Mantha asked with concern.

"Yeah, why woulnt I be?" he laughed.

"Your acting a little…weird."

"Wadya mean?" He slurred.

"Your acting like your…" she trailed off.

"Drunk. You're acting like your drunk." Ra chuckled, finishing her statement.

Casper tried to hide it, but he looked a little guilty. Mantha laughed a little, Ra smirked. The ghost was such a goody two shoes, the concept of him drinking was quite funny to her and Ra.

"Did you drink something?" She raised a brow with that 'I know you did' Smirk.

He quickly shook his head, but with a guilty smile.

"I'm just tired. We've h-had q-quite the day." Casper hiccupped.

"*Cough*liar*cough*" Ra fake coughed into his hand, smirking up at his friend.

"I-I am not." The ghost whined with a pout. "If I were drunk I'd go-" He stopped himself before he continued. He wasn't drunk enough to allow himself to finish that thought out loud. "If I were drunk, I'd go try and makeout with Thatch." Casper giggled.

His friends raised their brows smiled. They weren't sure what he was thinking about, but it obviously made him very happy.

"I'm tired; I t-think I'm gonna go t-to bed." The ghost gave a dazed smile.

"Yeah, fair enough. You've had a long day." Mantha smiled and got up.

She patted her friends shoulder and left the room. Ra smirked and shook his head as Casper wobbled trying to get up. The ghost went and brushed his teeth, using waaay to much tooth paste, and then being disgusted at the intense mint flavor. Ra went into the bathroom after him, he could hear him turn on the shower. The ghost face planted into his bed and pulled his blankets on top of him. He felt so sleepy.

Casper woke up feeling gently refreshed, he stretched and yawned with a groggy smile. That was the best sleep he's had in…well, since he was little. The stress of his uncles, Kibosh, and the school have made it nearly impossible to get a deep sleep.

His uncles are loud for one thing. It could be 3 am and Fatso would clatter pans trying to make something. Stinky liked watching movies…loudly. And Stretch, well he just liked turning on the lights in the middle of the night, just to bug him. Casper could be dead asleep and Stretch would come into his room, turn on the light, wait for Casper to wake up and look at him annoyed, then leave. His uncle wouldn't even turn the lights back off, forcing him to get out of bed and do it himself.

And then there was Kibosh…Kibosh terrified Casper…a lot. The green king could do anything he wanted to Casper, his family, his friends, all on a whim. Casper was often afraid that Kibosh would show up in the middle of the night, like he did the first time…

And then there was the school…To put it simply, he didn't feel safe in the building… at all. Everything about the school screamed danger. Outside, there was a swirling portal of death that led to god knows where, there was a patch of mutant blood blossoms in the forest, and inside the school was a machine capable of catching and detaining everybody in the school with ease. Then there were pranksters and bullies. And then Alder and Dash were just plain awful.

He hadn't slept feeling safe in so long…

Alder and Dash were making a morning announcement; everyone had been called into the auditorium. Casper and his friends were in the far back, he sat to the right of Mantha and Ra. The students all whispered and chatted amongst themselves, until the headmasters tapped the mic, causing a very loud and annoying feedback noise. Wolfe howled from the pain of it, and Thatch covered his ears with a pained hiss.

"Students, I'm certain you all know what this is about." Alder started. "Our beloved office was ransacked, set on fire, and destroyed."

"And the monster drank our very expensive fairy wine." Dash added, then got slapped by Alder.

Ra and Mantha blinked, giving each other a worried look. The monster that set the office on fire, also drank wine….and Casper was acting tipsy last night…he wouldn't have? Would he?

"According to the guards on duty, the monster was covered in red fur, had red goat horns, a long forked tail, and sounded like a hyena." Alder continued.

Mantha and Ra sighed in relief, it couldn't be Casper then.

"after consulting the library and Mr Burns," he continued, but got interrupted by Dash;

"We still have no idea what it was." Dash stated bluntly, earning an annoyed headshake from his brother.

"So for the time being, the guards will be increased, and there will be a strict curfew!" Alder added sternly. "That is all for now, you're dismissed."

The students started taking and gossiping again. Meanwhile, Casper prayed to whatever god that might be listening, that he didn't look as guilty as he felt…

Thatch tapped his foot on the floor impatiently. He was in detention. Which wasn't so bad if not for the fact that Casper was sitting a few desks away, also serving detention.

Casper was in there because he had been too nice to a classmate and the headmasters saw. He couldn't help it; it was in his nature. When he had saw his crush was also in detention, the worries of the morning announcement left him completely.

Thatch was in there because he accidently told Burns to 'shut the fuck up.' He wasn't looking and thought it was Mosshead at first…he was still a bit frazzled…

Thatch was trying his best to ignore what had happened yesterday. Casper was affectionate by nature; a kiss on the cheek was nothing special, he'd probably do that to anyone…and besides, why did he even care? He didn't like the ghost…. and if Casper did like him that way, well that was just too bad…Thatch…Thatch couldn't…his father had expectations, and he wanted to meet them…at least, he was pretty sure he did. Even if he often found himself mad at his father…

No, no, he was thinking about it too hard. Casper was just being himself, nothing to worry about. And besides, he had a date with Sibella this Friday anyways…

You see my dear audience; the stages of love are much like the stages of grief…

And Thatch was stuck on denial.

Meanwhile, Casper was stupid happy. Detention had done nothing to deter his mood. His crush saved Dudley, and on top of that he had a great night of sleep. He felt so very happy. He was currently smiling smittenly, while doodling hearts in his notebook with a red pen. He was trying to fill up the whole page with the little red hearts, he had gotten 3/4s done already. (and no, the hearts didn't have initials in them. Even he knew that was too risky, and very cliché.)

Mr Burns sat up from his desk.

"I'll be right back, don't ether of you two dare move." He announced and left, taking a newspaper with him.

"Well, he'll be gone for like 30 minutes." Thatch muttered jokingly.

Casper snorted a laugh and then covered his mouth to mask his snickering.

"Cute…" Thatch smiled to himself, then shook his head. "NO! No, he's not!"

There was an awkward moment of silence.

Casper decided to break it;

"So…why are you in detention?"

"You ask that like I'm not usually here." Thatch leaned back in his chair lazily.

"True, but I'm still curious." The ghost tilted his head.

"I told Burns to shut the fuck up." The vampire responded nonchalantly.

"Ah, how Classy." Casper smirked sarcastically.

Thatch smirked right back. "Well, classy's in my blood."

The ghost laughed.

"No doubt about that, Mr Vampire." Casper smirked and gave a little salute.

Now it was Thatch's turn to laugh.

"Mr Vampire? Should I go put on a suit and tie?" he raised a brow with a smirk

"Well, it would certainly… suit you." Casper smirked like a proud cat at his own very stupid pun.

Mr Vampire groaned in mock annoyance, smiling at the pun.

T; "Your puns are dead to the world."

C; "How dare you, my puns aren't dead…just living impaired."

T; "If you keep this up, I'll be forced to ghost you."

C; "Too late. Already did that to myself."

It's funny how oblivious two people can be about their own flirting.

The vampire laughed again, and then there was a comfortable silence.

Casper looked at the clock.

"Mr. Burns is taking a weirdly long time, isn't he."

"Yeah, and I don't wanna know why…" Thatch grimaced.

Then the door handle started to turn…followed by a quick yelp that sounded like Mr Burns, and then silence. The door creaked open, but the dragon wasn't there.

"Well that was…weird." Thatch muttered, clearly creeped out.

"Yeah…" Casper muttered raising a brow. "and in an unsettlingly familiar kind of way."

Then the ghost heard a rather upsetting sound above him, like the clicking of metal gears mixed with a jingle of a children's toy. "Oh no…" he knew exactly what that sound meant. He looked over at Thatch, who was luckily still there.

"Hey, did you hear som-" Thatch was cut short as Casper grabbed his hand and yanked him out of his chair.

As Casper did so, a weird, colorful, skeletal like hand came out of a hole in the celling, grabbing the chair.

"What the hell-!?" Thatch exclaimed watching the chair disappear in a puff of purple smoke.

"We need to run!" the ghost kept a hold of the others hand and led him out of the room in a sprint.

The next few moments were a panicked blur as they were chased out of the school by the toy like arms. They ran into the woods behind the school, Thatch was slightly ahead of him. They ran through some dense brush, when the dirt beneath their feet caved in. Thatch fell first, accidently pulling the other along with him. Casper hit his head on the edge of the hole, things got blurry and he fell unconscious. The two of them rolled down an underground slope of rock and dirt, Thatch was too disoriented to turn into a bat. They rolled down into a dark cave, the vampire hitting his head on a rock at the bottom.

They were both out cold.

So um…I'm going to be changing the lore of the monster catcher…XD Because story! That's why!
