Friday
Casper sat inside a dim, dirty dungeon cell. Though he couldn't remember it, he was sure he had been there for a while. He felt very bored. He heard footsteps down the hall. Maybe a guard? He didn't have the energy to care. Then, a knight in pitch black armor appeared in front of the cell door. The Knight opened up the cage door, rushed in, grabbed Casper by the wrist, and dragged him out.
"Where are we goi-" The ghost was interrupted as a metal glove clamped over his mouth.
"Your highness, shut up." The knight whispered with a tone that showed he was smirking under that helmet.
Casper was sure his voice sounded familiar.
The ghost huffed indignantly as he was pulled down the hall and up some stairs. Once they got to the top, it opened up into a wide room full of treasure. Gold, rubies, glittering sapphires. It was beautiful. What wasn't so pretty, was the giant, red, dragon asleep at the top of the pile...Right next to the castle exit.
"Well this is gonna be fun" the knight sighed with sarcasm. "…ok, try to be quite." The knight instructed with a whisper.
The ghost nodded as he was led onto the pile of treasure. They carefully, and as quietly as they could, walked across the coins. They were nearly out when Casper slipped and fell, causing a huge pile of treasure to slide, annnnd then knock down another huge pile of treasure.
It made a lot of noise.
The dragon gave a big exhale, smoke coming out of its nostrils. Its reptilian eyes snapped open, and moved to look at the source of the noise.
"Ah shit…" The black night mumbled, then leapt and grabbed Casper by the wrist.
The dragon charged forward, coins being thrown around from his thunderous footsteps. The knight dragged Casper out the castle door just as the dragon reached them, it's jaws nearly chomping down on them. The knight quickly picked up the ghost bridal style and leapt off a short rock ledge, landing on a dark horse.
"BRING BACK MY EXPERIMENT!" Roared the dragon as the knight road away with the prince on his lap.
"Uh… thank you, Black Knight." Casper stated cautiously.
"You're welcome. Now, to send a ransom note off to your kingdom." The Knight stated with the suave tone.
"Ransom?!" the ghost reared back and looked at the knight with alarm.
"Yes, you are my hostage now." The knight responded suavely again.
"How dare you! Put me down!" Casper squirmed to get out of the others hold, only managing to get himself in even more difficult angle. Now he was facing the knight, while his back was facing the back of the horses' head.
"Quit squirming!" the Knight mumbled in annoyance, trying to stop the ghost from moving.
"Stop and put me down!" In the ghosts squirming and arm waving, he managed to knock the helmet off the knight. "Now put me down you scoundra-" Casper paused as he saw the knights face. The knights familiar grey face with familiar sharp lavender eyes.
The ghost froze and stared.
Thatch stared for a moment before smirking
"You know, you're kind of cute." The he stated before pulling the ghost into a kiss.
The ghost gasped, but then wrapped his arms around the others neck and kissed back.
Suddenly they were no longer on a horse, nor were they outside. They were in a room with red velvet walls, with shiny trinkets everywhere. They were on a red Victorian couch, the ghost sitting next to the vampire. Casper giggled in a swooned manner as the knight held him and kissed his neck, saying lovely things to him.
"You are the loveliest creature in this entire kingdom." Thatch purred into the ghost's shoulder. "A pretty little snow fox."
Casper swooned some more, grinning love sickly.
"You're much too cute to be used as a ransom. I think I'll keep you." The vampire smirked, tilting up the others chin to look at him.
"You'll be a wonderful trinket."
"I wouldn't mind that~" the ghost giggled again.
The knight kissed him again and pushed him back onto the couch. Casper cupped the others face sweetly, and- what the hell was that beeping?
Casper slowly blinked awake, stirring tiredly. He turned and look up at the clock on his desk. It was the source of the beeping; it was his alarm for school.
He was so very pissed off. He glared at the clock for a solid minuet and a half, all while heavily considering yeeting it out the nearest window. That was such a lovely dream, he would have much preferred to stay there.
And Thatch looked so good in that armor too! Now it was gone!
He supposed he'd just have to daydream about it later…
Thatch walked down a section in the library. He had gone in there for a book about vampiric history for an upcoming essay, but now he was busy eavesdropping on Casper and his little sidekicks, Miss fall-a-part and Bandages. They were sitting at a little round table in front of the book shelf he was hiding behind.
"So, Casp, you going to the First Fear Dance?" Ra asked with a smile.
"Oh, I completely forgot about that. Right…another one of Kibosh's scare themed holidays…how lovely." The ghost mumbled with a sad chuckle.
"Yeah it is! No school, a party with lots of snacks, prizes!" The mummy grinned excitedly.
"It's during the weekend, we wouldn't have had school anyways." Mantha chuckled.
"Either way, no school!" Ra fist pumped.
Mantha sighed dreamily. "Mmm, brain punch."
Ra and Casper stuck out their tongues in disgust.
"Sounds fun. I hope you two have a good time." The ghost smiled faintly.
"What, you're not going?!" Mantha exclaimed
"No, I've got some homework I need to catch up on." Casper waved it off nonchalantly.
"But, you're gonna miss out on all the dancing!" the mummy added.
"I can't dance anyways." The ghost shrugged, turning his attention to the history book in front of him.
"Yes you can, you've told me you can!" Mantha exclaimed, putting her hands on her hips and raising a brow.
"I know how to slow dance, but nothing fast. So there is no point in me going. And like I said, I've got homework." The ghost shrugged, really trying to change the subject.
Ra and Mantha exchanged a worried look.
"You know, Casper, you can tell us stuff. Like if you're not feeling well. You don't have to hide it from us." The zombie attempted to reassured her friend.
"I know. I'm perfectly fine! I just don't want to go. I've got other things to do." Casper smiled, perhaps a bit too much. He was trying too hard to seem happy.
"Alright, fair enough." Mantha responded with hesitation.
There were a few moments of awkward silence before Ra decided to break it.
"Soooo ether of you two hungry? I'm hungry." The mummy chuckled awkwardly.
"Yeah, I could go for some food. What about you, Casp?" The zombie asked.
"You two go ahead, I'll be there in a minuet. I just wanna read two more pages." Casper smiled.
The mummy and zombie headed out of the library and towards the lunch room. The ghost stayed and read his two pages before getting up. He grabbed his book bag and was about to leave, when he saw Thatch walk out from a nearby book section. The vampire approached him with an expression that was equal parts serious and panicked.
"Uh, hello, Thatch…do you need something." The ghost raised a brow, nervously.
"So, you can slow dance?" the vampire asked quietly after a moment.
"Uh…yes…" Casper replied with confusion, not sure where this was going.
There was a very long pause as Thatch seemed to be frozen, he looked like his brain was spamming him with error screens.
"…and?" the ghost made a gesture for the vampire to continue.
"I…can't." the vampire replied very stiffly, starting to blush.
Another moment of awkward silence. Casper was forced to try and figure out the point of this conversation. He raised a brow.
"…Do you want me to teach you?" The ghost asked, flushing a bit.
Thatch turned a bit redder
"…yes." He replied quietly. He then quickly tried to regain his composure, trying to turn back into his tough normal self. "So I can dance with Sibella, obviously." He huffed.
"Obviously." Casper smiled, trying to hide his disappointment. "Alright, come on. No one goes to the old newspaper section; I'll teach you over there."
The ghost led the vampire to a corner of the library hidden from sight, where old newspapers and magazines were kept. Nobody ever went back there. It would be the perfect place to practice dancing. Nobody was in the library anyways, but the ghost knew that it would be best to be careful. Wouldn't want anyone to walk in on them dancing, and spread rumors about them dating. No, of course not. That would be awful…
"Ok, put one hand on my waist, and take my other hand." The ghost instructed pleasantly.
"Err, alright." Thatch mumbled and did as he was told (for the first time in his life)
Casper placed his free hand on the vampire's upper arm.
"Alright, you're in the lead position, but since I'm the one teaching you, I will. So keep that in mind when you go to dance with Sibella." The ghost reminded, again hiding his disappointment at the mention of Sibella.
"Ok, noted." Thatch mumbled again.
"And now we just sort of…walk rhythmically around. And sometimes spin." Casper chuckled a bit awkwardly.
"Ok, how do you spin some one?" The vampire raised a brow.
"Oh uh, like this." The ghost then put Thatch through a simple spin, which was a bit hard with the vampire being taller than him.
"Ok, so you move your hand like this." The vampire than repeated the action, but this time he spun Casper instead.
"You learn fast!" The ghost chuckled.
Thatch chuckled nervously.
"I'd show you how to dip, but I've never done that, so-" before Casper could finish, the vampire knocked him off his feet, and he fell backwards, only to be caught in a dip. His face turned bright blue in a mess of a blush.
"Like that?" Thatch smirked.
"Yep…like that." The ghost replied, very flustered.
They danc-practiced for a few minutes without saying anything. The silence was starting to get awkward.
"So…how have you been?" Casper attempted to break the ice. (ha, puns!)
"As terrible as ever." Thatch chuckled.
"Good to hear." The ghost smiled warmly.
"You?"
"Fine, besides being the only friendly monster within a 70-mile radius." Casper chuckled.
"You have only yourself to blame." The vampire teased with a smirk.
"True." The ghost chuckled again.
"So how's your baby cousin?" he asked with a smile.
"Learning to walk and quickly becoming a nuisance." Thatch rolled his eyes with a smile.
"Well, she learned from the best." Casper teased with a smirked.
"Thank you. I am the best nuisance." the vampire smiled proudly.
"You are." The ghost replied with warm, genuine smile.
The ghost leaned his head on the others shoulder with a smile. Thatch tensed up for a moment with a blush, but then relaxed. This was ok, this was nice.
Had the library always been this romantic? No, definably not… Casper just…had an effect on things he supposed...
"Thaaatch!?' I sweet, feminine voice called from around the shelf corner.
Casper tensed up and then vanished from Thatch's hold. The vampire felt his arms close around nothing as the ghost vanished. He felt very disappointed.
Around the corner Sibella popped into view.
"The vending machine gave me an extra plasma cola, so I thought you might want it." She grinned.
"Oh…thanks, yeah, I'll take it." He mumbled sadly.
Casper, invisible, flew away from the area quickly.
"You're such an idiot, why did you go and do that to yourself?! You should have said no and not danced with him! Why am I such a glutton for pain?! This isn't healthy! I need to leave him alone! He wouldn't like you, and he has Sibella!" He mentally yelled at himself, his eyes stung a bit, threatening to cry out of frustration.
"I'm such an idiot…" he mumbled to himself, gliding into his dorm.
He fell back onto his bed with an annoyed sigh, hitting his head on the wall as he did so. He laid motionless for a few moments before mumbling "Ow" quietly.
He pulled out his phone and noticed he had a new email from Wendy.
"Rebellion starts Sunday morning, at 6AM. Tomorrow, meet me at the docs at 4PM. We'll discuss the plan there."
"Ok, see you tomorrow." He sent back.
He ran his hands through his hair in stress. He felt so tired.
I'm sorry this chapter was so short, but I have a script to follow XD I can't break the script, man XD
