Mornings at Grimwood's was definitely different from mornings in the Loud House, waking up from the rooster call followed by Matches the dragon firing at the tail (he wonders why the roster still hanged up out here considering what the poor thing has to go through every single day) and it was nice having a normal sized room which was definitely more spacious than a room that used to be a closet. There was no mad dash to get to the bathroom nor a big rush to get everyone down the stairs. Probably helps that there wasn't the risk to be late getting to school.

Despite the unavoidable oddities (like wake up calls at times from the moving hand which he had gotten used to much sooner than he thinks that he really should have), how was it that mornings for a boarding school for girl ghouls was less chaotic than mornings in the Loud House?

Well getting to the breakfast table he tucked into his meal there at his own private corner while the girls would greet him and then go into their own separate meals, different meals for him as a human who would not be able to stomach the food that the girls eat. Ms Grimwood had set up a separate part of her garden to grow healthy ripe fruit and vegetables for Lincoln, the first morning breakfast Lincoln was green in the face upon seeing what they had available. Lincoln had tasted it and well.

He ended up in the infirmitary missing the morning classes for his first day at the school, what a way to make a good first impression.

He watched as the gym teacher Shaggy (the only other human at the school) along with his dog Scooby Doo (how did the man find a talking dog he wanted to know) took a bite out of their comically large sandwiches. Seriously half of one of their normal meals could fill up his entire household's stomachs for the dinner with leftovers still.

"Lincoln, after morning classes do you want to join us for a swim outside?" Elsa Frankenteen asked and Lincoln almost choked on his breakfast sandwhich before swallowing it. He then began thinking of an excuse fast, he had other plans but he liked being able to freely go for a swim without risk of being banned before he had a chance to get in the water.

"Sorry girls, I would love to but... I have so much homework to catch up on." Lincoln said and his felt guilty looking at the disappointed looks going his way.

"Are you sure Lincoln? We haven't gotten that much homework lately and I doubt it would pile up in the morning classes. I am sure you can afford to take a bite out of your study sessions." Sibella asked as Lincoln tried to give his best normal looking face.

"Sorry but I can't, I realised that I have some overdue papers from back at my old school so I don't want to fall behind." Lincoln said thinking quick and mentally patted himself on the back but there was Ms Grimwood walking in.

"Are you sure Lincoln? I checked with your old principal when we were setting up your transfer and he assured me that you were well caught up with your class." Ms Grimwood said and Lincoln wanted to scream out loud as they were now looking accusatory at him.

"First you volunteered to help the butler, then you wanted to help with the cleaning and now this? What gives?" Winnie the werewolf asked as Lincoln looked away at teh eyes that Sibella and Phantasma were giving him. His girlfriends he thought would be the worst ones to look at their reactions to this but no...

"Do you hate hanging out with us Lincoln? You can at least tell us..." Tanis asked and the hurt look on her cute face was making Lincoln feel like he was the worst person in the world.

"Off course not, just that I am busy..." Lincoln said finishing his food before zooming off at great speed to clean up.

"Even for him this is strange. He could be hiding a surprise from us." Phantasma pondered as they looked at eachother.

Lincoln it seemed was back to normal during the classes and it was forgotten until the last morning class ended when they saw him bolt out the door quickly wishing them all well in their swim. They couldn't help follow him but notice as he went to the bushes dividing the school from next door Calloway Military Academy.

They looked and saw the octopus butler pull apart the bushes letting Lincoln past, "Thanks for that and here is your latest payment as promised." Lincoln said thanking the octopus handing over a card and the butler gave a bow before leaving. "It turns out the butler here is a big Ace Savvy fan as well; he has been helping me hide what I have been doing from the girls in exchange for doubles of rare Ace Savvy cards that I have." Lincoln narrated before making his way to the Academy's side door.

"Calloway Military Academy, the students here you would think would be hardened soldiers to be but no. They are mostly arrogant jerks who are not too bad most of the time." Lincoln said knocking on the door and it was answered by Tug Roper the leader of the Calloway Cadets who made up the student body at the school. "Thank you for you Cadets doing this and here are the instructions as promised." Lincoln said handing over a list from his pocket to Tug which consisted of written instructions and hints to get past bits in video games that the Cadets had asked Lincoln to search for them.

He went to a classroom not used and sat down pulling his mini video game console out of his bag and putting in his coy of Creature Killer II: Anniversary Edition where you took on monsters such as werewolves and mummies and the bosses included Frankenstein's Monster and Count Dracula himself. He didn't want his new friends to think any less of him for playing these type of games.

He soon stood proudly in a victorious pose as he beat the final boss but then paused when he saw the Grimwood girls outside the classroom window. Quickly he went to the floor hoping that they didn't spot him, "Who are we hiding from? Do you like to come here to pay hide and seek with the Cadets?" Phantasma asked as Lincoln jumped up in a panic.

He then ran to the door and then saw the girls looking at him exiting as Phantasma called for him saying that he forgot his stuff, bringing his console and the bag as well with the Cadets looking from the outside as Tug had joined them for outdoor training. Phantasma then joined them the console and the game box as Lincoln looked down sighing sadly saying "sorry girls... The truth is that... I have been coming here to hide and play monster games as I was afraid of how you would take it... Especially this one Sibella as your Dad is a bad guy there and I am pretty sure your's is as well Elsa..."

Lincoln put his head up in confusion as he heard the girls bursted into laughter with Sibella and Phantasma coming over to embrace him, "Lincoln, it's both adorable how silly you are and how sweet that you want to spare our feelings. We don't mind that you like the human fiction about us monsters and we do as well, I have a Buffy figure back at my family's castle in Transylvania." Sibella told Lincoln as Phantasma nodded along with her.

"I have Ghostbusters figure at my home especially this Stay Puft Marshmallow Man which has been my favourite for a long time. I even have this autographed poster on my wall." Phantasma told him and Lincoln took this in.

"My dada loves Young Frankenstein." Elsa said.

"My daddy is a big fan of the Brendan Fraser movies and we love watching them together." Tanis said.

"Teen Wolf is a riot even if my dad is more into Back to the Future." Winnie said as Sibella and Phantasma then let go of their embrace.

"Between you and me, my father is mostly flattered by how you humans portray him. The Adam Sandler animated version not so much but you get the idea." Sibella whispered to Lincoln as he felt silly.

"Sorry about that, so you won't mind if you see playing these games or watching movies like this?" Lincoln asked and they shook their heads as they were all started walking back to the school together.

"You are still going to come over and help us some more like you promised right? I need to get past the Winged Beast in Mars War II." Miguel asked out loud along with similar statements as Lincoln sighed as he nodded.
