Leshrac's POV

When the school year properly started, we were divided into classes, like any school. I was placed in a class for 'special' students along with Iruma, Asmodeus and Clara, there were another handful of students, all equally loud and demanding in their own ways, our teacher was to be Kalego, and our first test was in flight.

"Flying is boring." Clara stuck her tongue out.

"Hmm, it's not always easy for me, being to large flying takes a lot of energy, but if the goal is simple getting to the end…maybe I can try something else?"

As soon as we started everyone took off, flying on ahead.

"Sensei so long as I reach the end I still qualify right, flying manually isn't required?" I asked.

"I suppose so, why?" he asked.

"Familiar." I held my hands up, a swirl of black feathers gathering "Thousand Crow!"

The Feathers and wind stopped to reveal a massive crow nearly twice as big as I was, even someone like me was able to ride on this.

"Let's go." I said.

The massive black bird flapped its wings and took off soaring passed most of the class with its natural speed.

"Yeah go Lessy!" Clara cheered as she rode on Asmodeus' back.

"Clara what are you doing?" I asked slowing down a bit.

"I'm riding Az see!" she slapping his back "It's way more fun!"

"Get off me already!" He yelled.

"She's not the type to move on her own." I said "Not once she sets her mind to something like this. Thousand Crow."

I pointed and the bird I was riding shed some feathers and shrank in size a bit, those other feathers formed into smaller crows that then merged into a person sized crow and lifted Clara off him.

"The Thousand Crow is as it sounds, a familiar made of a thousand smaller crows." I said "It can break apart into smaller murders to overwhelm foes."

"That quite a powerful familiar." Asmodeus said.

"I know." I nodded "it also works well for me, since flying on my own with this large body is rather inessive on stamina."

The course itself wasn't all that dangerous for us, it was more a manner of speed that would get you there quickly. Once we arrived we arrived at the finish line the three of us were the first to finish, though the rest of the class wasn't all that far behind. Iruma actually arrived last, though he was somehow riding a massive beast even larger than my crow. We then pulled for our ranks, Asmodeus got labels for Rank 4, while Clara and I were both Rank 3.

"I object, she can't be a Rank 3." Asmodeus said.

"Don't be mean, Clara finish right behind you and I." I said "Plus she's stronger than she looks, right Clara?"

"Yeah! Yeah!" she nodded.

Due to arriving late Iruma had to go last, though the owl gave him a ring rather than a ranking badge.

"That ring…I feel a dark energy coming from it." I said.

"REEEE!" the ring suddenly started loudly screeching.

"I spoke too soon."

The principal arrived almost instantly and was somehow able to subdue the creature inside the ring.

LATER

"What an eventful day." I said as Clara and I walked home.

"Fun! Fun!" she laughed climbing on my shoulders.

"I'm sure it was for you." I said "You barely did any work."

"Hmph, I worked super hard cheering you guys on." She pouted.

"Right." I sighed stretching my arm out to enlarge it and pull us up a cliff.

Clara lived not to far from the forest my family looked after, so we usually went home together.

"I'm just saying Clara, school is serious, it's not a joke okay." I said as we arrived at her house.

"Fine." She pouted "Meanie."

"How am I being mean cause I don't want you to fail out?" I asked.

"Yeah, fine." She pouted.

I patted her head with my bony palms "Relax, you'll be fine, I'm around if you need help."

I slowly walked off towards my own home leaving Clara at her door.

"Bye Lessy!" she waved.
