Chapter 2, I hope you enjoy!
I do have a long A/N though...
First of all, in response to a Guest Review, thank you for your support with my story, I appreciate it. Also, I have noticed that Alisha and Jordan have not been on set these first two weeks of filming. But, I'm just hoping this means they aren't in the first episode or so. After all, Ava Tran didn't show up until a week into filming, and Georgie wasn't mentioned in season 14s synopsis, and from set photos it seems they are filing Maggie's, cattle pasture, and rodeo grounds scenes. But it does concern me... :(
Next order of business... (I MEAN THIS IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY)
Ok so I think a lot of people are confused about Quinn's age, as I know he is 21 in season 13 which would make him 3 years older than Georgie. And yes Jordan and Alisha have a pretty good sized age gap (please pm me if you want to talk more about this), but this story is about their characters, not them.
I understand if you like Georgie and Wyatt better, you are entitled to prefer them, just be respectful of those who prefer Georgie with other people.
So, for those of you sticking with me, here ya go, chapter 2.
Tuesday Morning: Small group lesson
Tuesday Afternoon: Large group lesson
Georgie read the schedule for Tuesday in the camp's simple outline for the week. Georgie pulled on her ridding boots, slipped her phone in her pocket, and left her room ready to take on Day 2 of the European camp.
She made her way to the bulliten board in the stable where lesson orders and small group listings were posted. She scanned the board her her name. She found her name under the list for Small Group 2, which she read would be meeting in Arena C.
She made her way to Phoenix's stall where she prepared for their group lesson. She brushed him out, saddled, and placed his bridle on. She unclipped him from the cross ties and led him across the stable to Arena C.
A few of the other riders in her small group where already waiting with their horses in the arena. As she climbed onto Phoenix's back, a boy led a flashy bay with a stocky, warmblood build into the arena. She didn't recognize the horse, but when the boy mounted the horse and began riding in her direction, the rider was familiar.
"Well isn't this a coincidence!" Quinn exclaimed.
"What'd you do? Pay the instructor to put us in the same small group," Georgie playfully teased.
"No, nothing like that," He laughed. "I honestly didn't even see your name on the list."
"I didn't see yours either. But I'm glad I have someone I know in my small group."
"Yeah, we kind of beat them to the whole becoming friends thing."
"So this is your horse?" Georgie asked, referring to the bay horse with a wide white blaze Quinn was riding.
"Yes, this is Shadow Shore," He answered. "He doesn't have a cool backstory like Phoenix though. Just born and raised at my family's stable,."
"And where would your family's stable be located?" Georgie curiously asked.
"Wellington, Florida."
"Florida..." She mumbled under her breath. Before they could continue their conversation, their instructor arrived and began the small group lesson. During the lesson, they worked on numerous different jumps and they all critiqued each other. After roughly two hours, they were dismissed from their small groups and had time to relax in their rooms or get lunch before their large group session.
Georgie choose to go to her room before getting lunch. When she entered the dorm style room she shared with another girl, her roommate was already inside. Ellie, the roommate, was laying on one of the beds scrolling through her phone when Georgie walked in. Georgie removed her riding boots and changed into a more comfortable pair of tennis shoes.
"When I was walking to my small group lesson, I couldn't help but notice you and Quinn McGregor being pretty friendly with each other," Ellie stated, looking up from her phone.
"Yeah, we met yesterday. He seems like a really good guy," Georgie replied.
"He's from Florida, and so am I. We compete on the same circuit, so I know him pretty well. Your judgement is right, he is a good guy," Ellie told Georgie. "Not to mention he's loa-ded," She added breaking up the word for emphasis. "And hot. All the girls on the circuit down in Florida long to be with him for the pure fact that he has money and is hella attractive."
"He just seems like a really nice guy."
"Georgie, don't deny it. He's a hottie, everyone knows it."
"Ok, yeah he is pretty hot," Georgie finally admitted with a giddy giggle.
"Just know how lucky you are that he is even talking to you, all the girls back home beg for his attention and would kill to be in your shoes right now," Ellis informed her.
"You act like we're dating or something, we just met yesterday. I'm going to get lunch," Georgie announced, hoping for an out to this conversation.
She made her way downstairs to the common area where the food was served. She got her plate and sat at an empty table in the corner. She was startled when a figure appeared behind her.
"Is this seat taken?" Quinn politely asked.
"Nope," Georgie answered, permitting him to take a seat.
"So we didn't get to finish our conversation earlier. Where are you from?" He asked.
"Hudson, Alberta," Georgie answered, taking a bite of her food.
"Wow, Canada. Wanna switch me? The heat and humidity in Florida is awful," He joked.
"The snow storms in Canada are pretty bad themselves," Georgie replied.
"You know, I'd like to go up there sometime and watch the Spruce Meadows Masters. Is Calgary close to Hudson?"
"Yeah, about an hour away," She replied.
"Maybe I could stop by and see you if I decide to go up there. So tell me a little bit about yourself, I want to get to know this wonderful show jumper named Georgie."
"You act like I'm some celebrity or something," She laughed.
"I just want to get to know you because you seem cool and I want to make new friends," He replied.
"Well, I live on my family's cattle ranch in Alberta."
"Cattle ranch, interesting."
"My grandpa and great grandpa raise cattle on our ranch, my aunt rehabilitates traumatized horses, and my uncle is a vet. My dad lives in Vancouver and works for an oil company and my mom manages our ranch and owns a little diner in town."
"That is really cool," He replied.
"What about you?"
"My dad is a former professional show jumper, he owns an equestrian facility where he raises and trains show jumpers and the occasional cross country horse."
"Wow," Georgie replied. "Impressive. What kind of horses?"
"A few Thoroughbreds, mostly warmbloods though."
"So how close is Wellington to the beach?" She inquired curiously.
"About 35 miles if you take the interstate. Have you ever been to the beach?"
"I have not. It's all mountains up in Alberta."
"The only mountains I can say I've been to are the Appalachians, and only what the interstate passes through."
"We've got our fair share and then some where I'm from," She replied. They had gotten lost in conversation and were now two of just a few people left in the common area.
"Our next group lesson starts in twenty minutes, we better start that way," He realized looking in the time on his phone.
"Yeah, you are right," She agreed. They both threw away their trash and headed towards the stable for their next lesson.
So there was the second chapter, I hope you enjoyed! My apologies for the long wait, I took a week long trip (confidentially to Florida) and had little time to wrap up writing this chapter while I was sunning on the beach.
