Disclaimer: I do not own Warframe.
A/N: Once again, I did this while I was sick. It is shorter when compare to the others but it's because it's going to be a three-parter. Also, there's a poll on my profile that you should check out.
Ordis' Observation Log #3
Subjects Involve:
Operator Chroma (Still on medical lockdown):
The Dragon Tenno
Operator Mesa:
The Gunslinger Tenno. The Marksman Tenno.
Operator Trinity (Briefly):
The Healing/Healer Tenno. The Vampire Tenno
Location:
Combat Simulation Room (Secondary Room)
Background Summary:
Operator Chroma is in the backup Combat Simulation Room (which is mostly use for individual training as opposed to the main room which is for team combat, but alas, that is still awaiting repairs after Operator Chroma and Operator Mesa's "disagreement" from earlier) practicing his sword techniques. Operator Mesa has completed all of her assignments and has returned to the Orbiter for her pre-scheduled 48-hour furlough (it was her turn in the rotation) before being assigned more tasks.
(This takes place three days after the incident with Operator Nezha, Operator Mesa, and Operator Hildryn)
Beginning of Observation Log #3
Precision.
Power.
Reflex.
These were all the things that flood Chroma's mind as he swung his sword. The precision to strike a foe's weak point no matter what it's size. The power behind the strike that allows him to penetrate it. And last but not least, having the reflex to reposition himself in record time to do it all over again.
While the Dragon Tenno lacked the inhuman accuracy and speed of Excalibur when it came to swords, he was no less deadly than the Alpha Tenno and has more than once cross blades with him and held his own for a good period of time, mostly relying on instinct to help match his opponent's better-trained abilities.
He had just finished slaying his last Grineer Marine when he holsters his sword and looked straight ahead as the training simulation faded away, leaving him in a room of complete white.
"Two hundred kills, not bad", he said to himself.
Ordis' Note #1
Ordis would like to point out that two hundred simulate kills are considered a light training session for most of the Tenno even one such as Operator Baruuk and a barely a warm-up for the more aggressive ones like Operator Valykr.
"Is there something you wish to ask me, Jessie?", Chroma calls out, "You have been in the monitoring room watching me for the past fifteen minutes."
A few moments of silence go by before the doors to the room open up and Chroma turns around to see Mesa standing there sheepishly with a training Skana in her hand.
"How did you know I was here, suga?", she asks.
"Everyone tends to forget I have a second set of senses that are more powerful than any radar", Chroma says as he points to his pelt.
Ordis' Notes #2
Operator Chroma's pelt or "Aforitos" as he has named it, has at times been able to detect enemies from far beyond the range of a warframe's radar. According to Operator Chroma himself, the reason why he hasn't use it in combat as much as he should is that Aforitos is constantly in a semi-hibernation state.
Also, Operator Mesa was only watching Operator Chroma for fourteen minutes and fifty-five seconds.
"Why are you holding a Skana? Are you challenging me to a duel?", Chroma asks as he points at said weapon.
Mesa is slightly taken aback by the statement but recovers quickly, "Actually suga, I was hoping I could get some lessons in melee combat from you."
Chroma stares at Mesa for an uncomfortable amount of time in silence.
Ordis' Notes #3
Operator Chroma is well within his rights for his actions. The Skana is the first melee weapon that all the Tenno were trained to master before moving on to any other. Though after going through scattered imperial officials records, Ordis has discovered that Operator Mesa was ranked at the bottom in melee combat training, even Operator Baruuk place above her. Also, Operator Mesa has been approached before multiple times for additional melee weapons training but she has stubbornly refused each time.
"Is something wrong, suga?", Mesa asks.
"There are at least five other Tenno who rivals me in swordsmanship and Excalibur is the only one who I'll admit that surpasses me in it. Surely you could go see them for training", Chroma points out.
Ordis' Notes #4
Operator Khora, Operator Grendel, Operator Garuda, Operator Inaros, and Operator Titania. These are the names of the other Tenno who Operator Chroma is talking about. Operator Revenant is also an exceptional swordsman though due to his reclusive nature, Operator Chroma could not have known that.
Also, Operator Excalibur has all of them beat significantly with him officially stating that Operator Chroma is his only real challenge among the Tenno when it comes to sword vs sword combat though out of 114 recorded sword only bouts, Operator Chroma has only won six of them and by a very small margin.
"Well, you see, they're not really around as much and I figure since you're on medical lockdown I could get some training from you", Mesa admits, "By the way, how much longer are you going be on that?"
Chroma merely shrugs, "Don't know, Trinity hasn't exactly given me a window of time."
"Aw shucks, that stinks, suga."
"It is what it is", Chroma said as he walks over to the Gunslinger Tenno and presents his hand, "May I see it?"
After Mesa hands him the Skana and watches him as he looks over the blade, testing its weight and balance as he gives it a couple of swings.
Ordis' Notes #5
This behavior is mimic by Operator Excalibur whenever he gets a melee weapon place in his hand, though whether or not this is purely coincidence or a trait that was picked up during Operator Excalibur and Operator Chroma time as the only active Tenno is unknown.
Once he was done, the Dragon Tenno turns his attention back to Mesa, "I must commend your decision on choosing the Skana to train with. Most of the others would have gone for the more fancier weapons such as the Dark Sword or the Krohkur to practice with."
"Really? You mean that?", was Mesa's response.
Ordis' Notes #6
Sensors picked up that Operator Mesa's body temperature was rising at this point as well as her heartbeat.
"Anyway, why exactly are you choosing now to get extra training in close quarters combat weapons?", Chroma asks.
Mesa lets out a breath, "Well you see, ever since our little run-in with that Stalker fellow..."
Chroma lets out a growl upon the mentioning of that name.
Ordis' Notes #7
Lately, especially during his sessions with Operator Trinity, Operator Chroma has become aggravated at the mere mention of the word "Stalker".
"I just feel that I need to step up my game and maybe start carrying a blade or two into a fight so I won't have to rely on others to watch my back" Mesa confesses, "I mean, you had to go out of your way to protect me back on Mercury, suga."
"And I would do it again in a heartbeat, Jessie", Chroma said off-handily.
Mesa stood silently for a moment, "Excuse me for a moment, suga. I'll be right back", and Chroma watches her leave the training room.
Ordis' Notes #8
Video cameras out in the hallway show Operator Mesa jumping up and down while squealing quite loudly for thirty-three seconds before recomposing herself.
When Mesa walks back into the room, she found Chroma staring at a holo-clock projecting from his wrist.
"It would seem that I am needed in the anti-gravity chamber for another therapy session with Trinity", he says, "I apologize. We will have to postpone this until later."
Ordis' Notes #9
Actually, Operator Chroma's session with Operator Trinity was scheduled to begin ten minutes ago. Ordis pick up the visual feed of Operator Trinity doing warm-up stretches in the anti-gravity chamber as she was no doubt preparing to bring Operator Chroma in by force. It would seem that not everyone was impressed by her submission -ass-whooping- of Operator Valykr.
"Aw", Mesa groans as she hangs her head down.
"Do not worry. Last I recall, you're on your 48-hour break. These sessions usually don't go for more than two hours. I suggest you go and get some rest and I'll meet you here when I'm done", Chroma states.
"Really, suga?!", Mesa asks, excitement apparent in her voice.
"Of course, only true warriors seek to constantly better themselves while false warriors think they already know everything", Chroma states as he walks by her, "I'll see you when I'm done, Jessie."
The door opens and closes behind Chroma, leaving the Gunslinger Tenno alone in the training room. After a moment of silence, she once more began jumping up and down.
"Yes! Yes! Yes! Things are finally looking up for you, Jessie, you ol' girl!"
Summary of Observation
1. Operator Mesa has approach Operator Chroma for close-quarters combat melee weapon training which is odd seeing how she has turned down multiple suggestions from the other Tenno to get some up to this point.
2. Despite most Tenno using their allotted downtime to rest and recuperate, Operator Mesa has instead chosen to train, most unusual for her.
End of Observation Log #3
"Um, Lotus, if I may?"
"Yes, Ordis"
"Was it really necessary for you to postpone a meeting with The Perrin Sequence just to watch this?"
"But of course, it is important for me to keep up with the daily lives of the Tenno, Ordis", the Lotus response.
"Whatever you say, Lotus."
"I wonder if I should just take Chroma off of medical lockdown myself just so he can go on missions with Mesa and the others", Lotus thought to herself.
A/N: Going back to sleep now. Remember, there's a poll on my profile you should check out.
