I hurts

Time had frozen around them two staring at each other eyes without any idea of what to do or say, for Michiru, she had just been discovered kissing Shirou thinking he was asleep and was scared of him being mad since in the past when she teased the wolf he seemed a bit out of place. On the other hand, Shirou who had just woken up found himself kissing the girl or the girl was kissing him? He wasn't sure but what he knew is that the soft texture of her lips made him feel intoxicated, as if her skin was a drug itself and he was now craving to kiss her again, but he refuse to, his mind was now fully aware of where they were and this brought back the scenario he saw where innocent citizens were harm and at the edge of death. This made him stand up in a second which startled the young tanuki who looked at the sides for anyone dangerous. "What?! What is Shirou? Have you heard someone?"

He didn't answer her, he was looking at his hands where he saw more blood, still fresh and filling his nose with its metallic which increased his breathing and heartbeat, alarming Mihicur thanks to the monitor connected to his chest. His lungs couldn't feel the oxygen coming in and his fur begin to glow to michiru's disbelief who could only stare without any idea of what to do, but she managed to snap out of it and wrap his arms around the wolf, feeling a burning feeling on her arms as she was been burn by his body. She looked up to him, trying to lock eyes but there was no pupil on his eyes at all and his body seemed to be fighting to retain his human form even if fur could be seen already on his face.

This situation made her be afraid of something happening to him but before her brain could think more than this, someone had jumped into the room with a syringe quick enough to sedate the rampaged wolf who in a few seconds fell unconscious.

"That will do….thanks Koichi, Michiru are you okay?" She heard a voice but her brain couldn't process it, she was still holding the wolf between her arms as if he would turn into dust any second now, only when she felt a hand touching her shoulder she came back to reality, letting go with some doubts just to find the major and her secretary on the room, in fact she now could understand that Koichi had used something to make shirou fall asleep.

"Ma...jor...rose?" Her voice was low, a nod from the older women made her feel confused, however the women standing in front of her seemed confused as well, slowly they took a better look at the now sleeping wolf, there were some veins around his neck that felt familiar.

"It looks like the marks from the nirvasyl sindrome…."

"The...what?!" She let out a loud question, her heart sinking into her chest but a calm hand over her shoulder calmed her down once more.

Slowly she was guided to the door of the room while Koichi stayed behind to keep an eye on Shirou. "It's okay Michiru don't worry, he won't transform again, that's not possible."

"But major, if he was not transforming then what was that?"

No answer came out from the women, she only stared at the tanuki before turn her head to the door, she was making the same question inside her head and she was sure that any answer she could give now was not gonna be enough to the girl, in fact she was sure she don't even wanted an answer, she only wanted to hear that the wolf was fine. But as a major and an old friend of Shirou she couldn't lie to her.

"For what I was told, shirou collapsed after the scene of the citizens and even if i don't know what caused this attack, it seemed like a post traumatic stress disorder. I myself had seen a few on humans and beastman, but what happened just a few moments ago was that, however, I never saw it on a subject who could transform into a giant wolf. My only thought is that ginrou was trying to get out to protect shirou itself." There was silence, the nurses and doctors walking in the hallway seemed distant.

"Ginrou tried to protect Shirou?...But aren't they...the same thing?" She got a no by answer, before hearing a 'follow me', leaving the room behind them, they walked to the dining hall where they sit down, it was almost night already so no patients were there beyond 2 or 3. The girl turned human while holding her hands together, her nails gently digging on her skin.

"Okay, they two are the same being indeed, however shirou always referred to ginrou as an individual being, after all he was created by the blood and souls of everyone on nirvasyl. So you can assume that Shirou controls ginrou power and body but maybe he is not ginrou itself but a mere part of it." Then was ginrou a second personality of shirou? Was that what the major tried to explain to her? "Ginrou always protected the beastman even if shirou never allowed anyone to help him before you, then how would ginrou react if shirou felt in danger?"

Her eyes grew wider as her pupils became smaller, till now Shirou seemed like an invincible hero, someone who could never lose or even get badly damaged since he would always regenerate from any injury, but a ptsd was something menthal, regeneration couldn't fix that at all. "So...you're saying that Shirou has a trauma?...why didn't he tell us about it?"

"Traumas can take days or even years to show up, after the incident, tho on this case it has taken more than 900 years, imagine how the murder of his people and this own death damadge his psyque, he had never took the time to think on that beyon his role." There was sadness in her words, Michiru knew that well, they two knew from a long time ago so if there was someone who could tell that it was her. Tho this made a memory come back to her head.

"Didn't Shirou say that he would never use Ginrou power ever again?...Perhaps the fact that he used that power again brought those thoughts back? Could that be the reason?"

"Maybe, though I am not a psychologist so I can't tell for sure and we can't ask someone to see him unless he wants to. We must keep his secret after all." With that she stood up, leaving the girl to sit alone, trying to process what she heard. A strong feeling of guilt came with comprehension, if the transformation into Ginrou was what brought back all those memories and detonated the panic attack, then she was at fault because of it, after all he transformed once again to save her so it was her the one that made this happen. 'It's my fault….once more I only cause him problems...I am useless….maybe he would never have suffered from this if it wasn't for me.'

She stared at the table for a long time, her phone was ringing and she knew it was Melissa, looking to know what happened and if they would come home but she didn't feel like talking right now. Questions and thoughts about the wolf came to her heart and soul. This was frustrating for someone her age, she felt tears forming on her eyes again as she pulled her hair while clenching her teeth, if she never got into that accident she would never have been there in the first place. "I wouldn't be involved in all these problems…."

When she finally decided to move back to the room, she was notified that visit hours were over but they were instructed to allow her to stay in Shirou room since she was the closest familiar besides the major itself. This was odd, after all Melissa and Gem knew him from way before her, but she didn't say anything, going inside the room she saw him sleeping, his face was more calm now than before and the beep sound let her know that he was actually sleeping and not awake. She took the small couch in the room to lay down trying to sleep, she felt mentally and physically tired but was unable to sleep, the drugs, her new job, the threat to the city and now shirou.

Turning her head to see the wolf in the darkness, her eyes transformed to allow her to see with the lack of light, to her surprise the wolfe had his eyes open but was looking at the ceiling, she remained in silence. Shirou had just woken up but didn't dare to move at all, the smell of a hospital, he knew that scent pretty well but he had never been the patient at all, though he didn't hate the calm environment. A sound on his right side made him turn to find the origin and as he supposed, it was the tanuki girl on her human form. "Hey there…."

Michiru felt the urge to run and hug him again but she resisted it, waving a hand to answer while sitting up to face him. "Hey…"

Silence, they stared at each other without knowing how to start, fortunately for the girl the wolf was the one to speak first. "How long have I been out?"

"...All afternoon till now, you woke up once but you were put to sleep again…" He nodded, taking his time to look down at his own hands, afraid of finding blood on them but this time there was nothing there, they were clean. This was a relief for him and he let out a breath he had been holding since he woke up and this caught the attention of the girl who sat on the bed, his back turned on him. "I was worried...Shirou it's not even been a month and you had put yourself in this situation twice by now..."

Apologies, kind words and guilt filled his chest even if he didn't owe her any explanation but for some reason he felt as if he had to do so, slowly he raised an arm to place his hand over her back, kindly scratching it as you would to calm down someone.

"I know and I'm sorry….this time i don't know what came over me, i was fine one moment and the next i was..." There was a hole in his memory, he remembered he was talking to Tachiki and Gabu but he couldn't remember what he was talking about, in fact he could not remember what he did to call them there. Slowly he reached his face, stopping the gesture on the tanuki while trying to dig inside his head but the soft sensation of fur over his cheeks stopped him, Michiru was back into her beastman form and was holding him now close to her chest allowing him to listen to her heartbeat.

"Don't go there...not for today at least...you gotta rest...don't remember for now…" The words of Rose were firm inside her skull, shirou wasn't ready to remember that scenario, not for now and she had the duty to seek help for him or at least convince him to look for it. Unsure of why she stop him but knowing pretty well that she must had a reason he close his eyes enjoying her heartbeat that was like music for his ear, he could remember a similar scene that happen just a few days ago but with the reverse roles and they stayed like that for who knows how long, none of them fall asleep or spoke but once more they both agreed on something, they two needed each other more than they wanted to admit out loud and from a long time now when they were apart, bad things tend to happen to them. Before they knew they both fall asleep holding each other on their arms at the time shirou instinctively place the girl on his chest so she could be more comfortable, no one could know what path was draw for them and sometimes people never got to discover their purpose, but at least for this two there was something certain. They were meant to be together, she was a former human and he was an immortal wolf with hundreds of years, but that was not important, they brought peace to their souls but unfortunately not to all of their souls.

The city was quiet like no other night before, even for a small city like Anima City, this was pretty odd and it was followed by the feeling of been in danger for everyone on the streets. Tachiki and Gabu were at the morgue as they were informed about those who died by the injuries caused while they were attacked before Ogami found them, there were 4 diseases and 3 others were stable while only one was in critical state. This news were horrible but that was not the only reason they were called in, even with the mess the blood left behind, there was a certain procedure on this.

"So, what you are trying to say is that this was made with medical instruments? Like traffic of organs on the black market?" There was doubt on those questions, stealing a heart, kidney or a lung was one thing but legs and arms were something different. It was something taken out from a horror movie.

"Yes, not only that but the cuts on the nerves and muscles made me think that not only a medic was involved. but a surgeon. For what reason I don't know, but the care with which it was done led me to think that someone is planning on transplanting them." There was a moment of silence.

"As you know, our blood can't be transfused to humans or our organs, it would lead to a certain death to humans or to us if it was the other way around. The parts that were taken…" The voice of the doctor broke was no need for her to continue, after all, they were not idiots and could understand what she wanted to say. Legs, arms, eyes, lungs, heart, ears, it was as if someone wanted to create an individual with all that. "Like a Frankenstein monster…"

This was serious, it was no secret for them or the major that humans used to run experiments on the beastman kind a long time ago trying to turn them into weapons and even now they were dealing with a drug that seemed to be the way to make this happen. But this has to be someone else, there was no way a human would do something like this, it was absurd to them, at least for gabu and the doctor but the old Tachiki knew better. After all, even between beastmans there were monsters in disguise among them. "I need to make a call, Gabu please take care of the report, doctor, thanks for calling us. I need to go now, I'll see you tomorrow at the station."

He dialled a number and waited till the other side answered, he didn't try to go inside the car he and Gabu used to got there, he left the keys to the young officer.

"What is it? It's too late, this better be good." Flips voice sounded annoyed, but this didn't matter right now.

"We need to talk, there has been a change in the situation we are currently….i would recommend your mens to take precautions and for you to keep a close eye on your daughter." There was a sound resembling the movement of blankets.

"Are you threatening me?"

"No Flip, I think everyone in Anima City is in danger right now. Let's pray for the silver wolf for help now." With that he hang on the phone, walking to his home thinking on what should be their next move, it has been a really long time since he felt like this since not even Giuliano Flip gave them so much problems with their activities, at least he had some kind of code that meant he didn't wanted to destroy the city or ruin it. Before he moved to Anima City he worked with the police of tokio on his early years they had to look for a group from the mafia who kidnapped teenagers and sold them for multiple purpoises incluiding prostitution. They were always two steps behind them and they always seemed to be playing with them like a cat playing with a mouse. Things began to get serious when a child was kidnapped, she was not older than 16 years and with this their time to find them got shorter.

Even if he was a beastman everyone on the force respected him for how hard he worked and his superior took him like his sidekick, getting to feel like father and son, they were assigned to the case with other officers and when they were notified about the girl they waited for the worst. But then he began to use his beast form to look for clues and scents even if his companions showed a bit of rejection for that form, he didn't care and kept trying to do something. With the passing of days he got frustrated since he kept using his nature but his partners kept pushing him away until one day he found where the girls were kept locked. They saved most of them but the young girl was never found and tachiki never got over that, with that accomplishment his partners stop harassing him but he ends up leaving after learning about the beastman city that was gonna be found.

"Tachiki, to be honest it makes me sad to know you are leaving. But I know you will be with your people, just remember that we will always be your partners and I am proud of what you did for those girls. Keep doing what you do best, help your citizens."

That's why he always trusted Ogami who put the city before himself, everytime he tried and succeeded in saving everyone who was in danger, even if he was younger than him. Perhaps that's what kept him working after so many years, the wish to help and before he noticed he was already at his home.

The next day, shirou was the first to awoken and the first thing he noticed was that Michiru was gone, she was nowhere to be seen and he got up trying to catch her scent but he 'saw' her leaving a few hours before, of course she had to go to work today too, he rubbed his eyes feeling a bit sad now. But his mind came back to his present, he got up the bed checking his body for any injury and he found nothing bad with his body or at least nothing that he could see because he felt his body a bit heavier than usual but he couldn't continue his research about his own body because a nurse came in and run to notify the doctor that he was awake and up. Once the doctor came to the room he closed the door behind him telling the nurse he needed some time alone with his patient and after that he guided Shirou to sit on the bed.

"Before anything, Ogami, I assure you that I know the major and I respect the confidentiality between doctor and patient." There was a serious and precautionary tone on his voice and he seemed a bit nervous while saying every word to the wolf.

"Now, I made sure to be the only one to see your papers and tests so I know pretty well what or who you are. Be sure that I won't tell anyone and you can trust me." There was a bit of concern on Shirou's mind and a strange feeling surrounding him, but this person knew Rose and if she trusts him then it means he could do the same. "Okay, I understand."

"I'm glad that we can get past that now, because Ogami, there are some irregularities in your biometry even for someone with your situation, your cells should be able to regenerate instantly as before but for some reason the activity of them are decreasing and since i don't have test to compare i can assure you that it's gonna get worse if we don't find the reason behind that." This was something shocking to hear, till now he never got worried about his health at all since he was immortal but even if he wasn't a doctor he knew what that meant and he didn't like it at all.

"So what you're saying it's that now I won't heal as fast as before?" The doctor tilted his head a bit before answering.

"You will still heal faster than a regular beastman but with time you could return to be a mortal being. I would like for you to come for regular inspections if you are okay with it. To keep a track on how fast this condition is developing." As he made this request the white hair wolf was already putting his clothes back on, giving a nod before turning around to him. There was something weird on his eyes and the doctor couldn't say what it was since he didn't know him from before.

"Doctor...Kagemori Michiru can't know about this."

"She won't, I promise." He saw him leaving the room and walked with him till he reached the reception where he filled the forms to discharge him from the hospital even if the nurse said it was too early to do this, if only she knew.

At the police department Michiru was requested to give any information about the incident with Ogami but just as the others she couldn't give anything else, though in her case it was because she was asked not to tell anyone. Once she was allowed to leave, Gabu and Tachiki begin to talk about Flip's help. Till now Gabu knew that The family was not involve on the drug problems but he didn't knew that they offer to help them with this, he was sure it was to get something in return but the oldest man remind him that it was actually them who kept protecting the city when the nyrsavil incident occurred.

"Well I suppose that's true and if you and Ogami trust them I'll play along for now. But what help can they provide to us anyway?"

"To begin with, they have knowledge about the nocturnal life and they have contacts outside the city, we can contact other police forces but they will always have more information since not everyone will have good eyes on us." This made both of them sigh with a bit of sadness but that was something they were used to, thankfully things would begin to be different in the future unless they fail to stop all of this mess. The concerning thing right now was the last attack, the experimentation on beastman wasn't something usual on these days even for the Silvasta family so there was nowhere to look for clues and with Shirou in the hospital they couldn't rely on his powerful nose, then the phone rang.

"Hey, it's Flip, I have some info you might wanna know." This brought some relief to the room, Gabu took a seat to which Tachiki used the speaker so he could listen to the information too.

"I'm glad to hear that, the officer Gabu is here with me, I hope there is no issue with you if he listens." There was a small grunt on the other side of the line.

"Fine I guess he will know this anyway, my men ask some contacts around and it seems that this attack wasn't the first one but it was the only one that left bodies behind. Some of the small drug dealers around the lower world had gone missing, it's normal you didn't know because of that. However this began after the silvasta guy left the city." There had been other attacks before? Sure the reason they didn't know was something they understood but still was unacceptable for them, maybe they were no better than the humans in this regard. Flip continued speaking so he stopped his thoughts but he was less and less sure about the city structure. "Apparently they always target young ones but a few of the missing beastman were older people who had some military training or something on that matter."

"I see, thanks Flip, I'll make sure to inform my superiors. Just remember to be careful since you and your people could be targeted too." With that the call was over and the mood on the room was heavier than a block of steel, Tachiki had some thoughts about this when they were inform about the autopsy of the bodies and knowing how the silvasta had a big research about their anatomy it was natural to think they were behind all of this. But what were they trying to accomplish by taking only parts of the body and not the whole subject?

Now he wasn't even sure if there was only one group behind all of this, maybe it wasn't even a group at all but only a bunch of people with power, Flip was getting info but the police couldn't stay just with that, Michiru was now on the force and she knew how Shirou work so he was sure they will have that but it was potential that needed to be worked and shapped after all she mentioned the fact that she wanted to be part of the nyrvasil force when once it was form, she wasn't getting any training so they had to change that, the thing left to discuss was about Ogami and how he would take this.

"Gabu, when Kagemori is back today, bring her and her partners here please. I need to talk to them." After a nod he was alone, he took a look at the papers on the side of his desk and began to read some of them, it was the applicants that wanted to join the police. He began to read some of them and most of them were big mammals and a few were lions, wolfs. But then something caught his attention and he had to search on his computer the report the tanuki and her partners made a few days before. "So, Yoko is someone that knows Ikki the tiger huh? She is a tiger, she wasn't militar but was trained by him and has remarkable values to help the others...This could come handy."

Meanwhile on the city Aneko and Katsumoto were a bit worried as they following Michiru who was pretty quiet while patrolling the surrounding areas of where ikki was found and were they got the blood sample of ikki trying to found anything weird but the only thing they found so far was some thieves and they took care of them but the tanuki girl was a bit too hard on them using her gorila arms to catch them and even if she didn't hurt them it was enough to scare them.

"Hey, doesn't she seem a bit pissed off or out of herself today?" The dog man asked his companion in a whisper, wishing that the young girl wouldn't hear him. He was older than her and he had seen things and got into some fights with bandits but he had learned to never mess with an angry woman.

"I know that you mean, yes she is acting odd today but i can't tell you what exactly is….tho-" She was cut by Michiru who turned around to see them with an angry expression. "Eeep! W-what is Michiru? You got something?"

The tanuki was using her bunny ears from some time now, tho her eyes seemed more like one of a tiger or wolf that were about to bite their neck. She just grunted before begin to walk again, her fist were clenched as she walk around asking questions and even moving cars with her arms, it was something that you were not used to see on a daily day even if there were beastman capable of doing that but working with the shapeshifter tanuk was certainly odd. To this point it seemed as if she was the one leading them.

"Michiru, we need to move on to the next part of the city, with this it's been 3 days on the same area, we already found something and I'm not sure we will find something new." Aneko was worried but she was also concern that they were not doing their work as they should but this landed on theaf ears because the tanuki kept walking and moving everything trying to find something under boxes, vehicles and trash cans till the point where the older girl holded her shoulder spinning her around to face her. "Hey newbie i'm talking to you."

But the eyes that met her froze her in place, anger was all she saw on those kind eyes and she was not expecting that ubt before she said something she was pushed back and if it wasn't for Katsumoto she would have fallen on the ground.

"Don't mess with me, there must be something else here and we didn't find it! So don't tell me how to do it, okay?." She was ready to chop her head off but this made her angry too so after getting back up she slapped the tanuki as she transformed to her beast form.

"Now hear me kiddo! We are friends but i am your superior and you will not talk nor yell to me that way, understood?! I was been nice but we will move to the next area and search there now and that-...!" Her words were silenced by a slap that took her by surprise, the tanuki just returned the kind gesture to her and she tried to keep calm but for some reason she couldn't so she threw a punch to the girl this time. "Oh now you're on it!"

Like if they both were teenagers they begin to throw punches and even biting the other on the arms, pulling each other hair while katsumoto watched them not sure how to proceed since he was sure they wouldn't go easy on him, Michiru wasn't thinking at all on that moment and her body was reacting to that since her arms tried to transform but they couldn't retain the form she tried to give them. She was angry, she was mad she was….crying, without knowing she began to cry and it wasn't caused by the punches she received and Aneko noticed this so she quickly gave a last punch to her stomach so she had to kneel, being also quick enough to hold her. With a movement of her head she asked the dog officer to walk closer as she wrapped her arms around the tanuki who began to sob.

"Hey girl, easy now, what's wrong? What got into you today? You can tell me." But she didn't get any answer, only more sobbing sounds and her chest getting wet as the tanuki returned to her human form, holding onto her like a small chil. "Michiru?"

"I...i don't know….i don't want to see him hurt but i can't..i…." Her voice sounded like paper, it was about to crumble on any moment and they could tell. "I don't know what's...going on im...scared….im….im a mess…."

The man was back after a few minutes with the car and he parked close so Aneko could bring Michiru inside, who by the way was clinching to her but she felt this was because she didn't wanted to feel alone, this was something she had seen before but not as strong as this occasion and the only thing she could think of was the incident with ogami, how she reacted to others trying to get closer to him or at least that was what she was told by those on the place. A kind hand runned over the girl's head to what she look up just to see Katsumoto smiling at her. "Hey, everything will be alright, he is fine and you know that. Lets go to the station since there was nothing here okay? We will take a small break and move to the other area and if you still feel unsure we can make a small round tomorrow just in case."

This calmed her down so she nodded and let Aneko uniform go, sitting on the back of the car, trying to dry her face with her arms but her eyes kept that red color after crying. The two didn't say anything while driving to the station, but after her reaction while mentioning 'him' the woman was now putting the puzzle together and that made her smile.

As they arrived the tanuki girl had fallen asleep so they needed to wake her up, when she did she was calmer but her attitude was still a bit rough, tho, not as before.

The lunch was calm and silent even if they two wanted to ask a few questions to the girl but more importantly, they wanted to talk to their superior about her. It was clear to them that Michiru suffered a few situations in the past like being hunted while getting to the city and even almost being crushed by Yaba.

"Hey Mori, can you go for a few drinks for us?" After he got the hint he didn't say anything, he just left the two women alone, the tanuki tried to don't think too much of that but she was wrong trying to dismiss this. "It's the wolf isn't it? You are afraid of losing him."

"..."

"I can understand that, we all fear to lose our loved ones but our job is to make sure that doesn't happen. He wasn't injured, it was just something casual." She was trying to get something from the girl, got told that she was wrong or at least that she was right but she got nothing. "We both want to help you girl, but if you don't speak up we can't read your mind."

"I...think I love him and it hurts…" She opened her eyes at her own words but in some way felt like she got rid of a weight over her chest, tho the pain was still there. "And...i'm afraid he will end up….death one day…."

Don't kill me! It was a bit hard to wrote this chapter since i wanted to focus on other characters besides the shiromichi couple, but why is michiru so afraid of lossing him if she knows he is immortal since after all she don't know that the doctor said...right?
