A/N:

No more concepts! Everything is told by now...

I must say, in this story, different than my other stories, Ga Eul will be a bit bold and hot tempered sometimes (like Lucy Carlyle from Lockwood and co. Imagine it as an effect as for being possessed by an ancient demon for 12 years.) and Yi Jeong would be a bit reckless.(like Anthony Lockwood himself)

But their some characteristics will remain the same as from the drama, like, Ga Eul's loyalty and Yi Jeong's playboy life ( at the beginning)

Black cat- a symbol of misfortune.

Chapter three: Lavender.

"STOP IT! E-Enough ... Jaebal..."

Ga Eul pleaded, grasping her chest in pain. Her hand felt the wetness of her blood, staining the nightdress, but underneath it, between her breasts—it felt hollow.

The demon was seated in front of her (to call it seated though he was practically hovering over the blue and whitish mist creeping underneath him), one of his legs, bended, lying around the level of his hip, while the other hung down from whatever invisible ' seat' that he was seated on.

His ankle disappeared in the sea of ghost fog.

Baekga—the demon—had her heart in his hand, while the other hand supported his position. He was licking out its blood, draping his long tongue around it. The more he licked, the more pain Ga Eul felt in her chest, as if a hot sand paper made of iron, grating and burning her heart all together.

No matter how much he licked, blood did not stop draining from her heart, streaming along his arm and dripping down from his bended elbow. The crimson blood stream well contrasted with his pale white complexion.

Plop...

A blood drop fell onto the whatever ground that was underneath him.

The mist steamed to the touch of humanity, as it disappeared uncovering the pool underneath it.

Another pool of blood.

Than a pool, it was more like a lake, as everything —the darkness and the mist, it spread till eternity as far as the eyes could reach.

It was how it was like ...in the other side...

Dark, misty and cold...

Cold...

Very much cold... indeed...

The demon dug his sharp and pointy teeth into the blood-wet flesh of Ga Eul's heart.

If not for the pain had made her scream, the coldness could have made her gone numb.

"AAAAHH!"

The demon had another bite, and Ga Eul collapsed onto her knees, grasping her hollow chest crying in pain.

" Please...Stop it! I... I-I c-can't s-stand it any..m-more..." Ga Eul began sobbing.

Oh you are a standing alright...

The demon grinned exposing his blood stained teeth.

I am starving...

"Anniyo!"

It paused just before taking another bite.

"Ahrasso! I'll wake up now... and feed you..." Ga Eul manage to speak out amid her shallow breaths.

Feed me? The demon scoffed. From your human food?... tsk tsk tsk... what about a soulmate's heart instead? That sounds more like a fair deal?...

The moment her pain started to fade away, Ga Eul managed to shoot a glare at the demon's amused yet horrific face.

"I will... maybe...consider that offer... if you would tell who this soulmate of mine is..."

The demon grinned wider— amused.

You have met him already... what a weak life line he has got?... better recognize him quick.. or else he'd already be dead once you do...

Ga Eul went thoughtful.

"Someone with a weak life? Is he..."

Sick?...

Could it be...

Andwae! not him... blah.. even I am disgusted of him..! and reminding you if in any case you've forgotten...he's receiving that compliment from a demon itself!

He made a face.

Ga Eul was guessing it was Cha Bong... the plump nerd in his wheelchair ...

The whole school knew he had hygiene issues..

Ga Eul was that desperate to find what ever the person he was, but she sighed in relief at the same time, knowing that it was not him.

Then what did..

He has got a death wish...

"EH?"

Hmmm... The demon answered stretching his lips into a downward smile, while he pretended to examine his black stained long claws.

He hates to be alive... poor thing.. I could have easily granted his wish if you would have brought him to me...

" Why?_ Ani_ Who is he?"

Wae? Are you going to convince him to stay alive so you could kill him to free out your self? The demon teased.

"Who is he? You told that I have met him already?"

Ga Eul demanded.

He is quite handsome though... far more than that Cha Bong... but.. maybe not as much as me... and he turned at Ga Eul in widened red eyes. Jagiya... why don't you just die and come to live with me forever?... we could make a lot better company with each other... as you already know... I feel lonely out here... in cold.. He made a dramatic movement from his hand. Don't you feel sorry for me?...

"You ! Litt_ AAGH!"

Another long claw dug deep in her heart.

A Slave should know its place and cherish their master when they call them kindly...

The demon shot a glare at her.

"WHO IS HE?"

Be more polite...

"Who is he?"

Politer...

Though it was in the other side, right in front of an actual demon, Ga Eul did roll her eyes.

How could demons be this childish?

Well... we don't actually age ... in the first place... if you are curious..

He again read her mind.

She sighed.

"Please.. ."

He's among Geum's new friends...

"Ani.. could it be ... Jandi's boyfriend?.." Ga Eul pitied her own self. No matter what, she did not want to fall that low to cheat on her best friend... even if she was not that much of a ' best ' friend now...

Be precise..

"Eh?"

Geum's boyfriend? Who? The white one or the black one?...

"I meant her boyfriend... " Ga Eul shot another glare.

Nevermind... none of them...

"Then... is it him.. that Song... song.. Woo.. Bin?"

Tsk ..ani.. doesn't have a death wish ... more likely granting the wish to others...

"M-mwo? what do you mean by granting the wish to others?"

Out of interest...

"Mwo ?"

Is it that hard now? It is only one now that is left...

"Mwo? Him?" Ga Eul scoffed. "Andwae! it could not be... he is_"

A player? .. ye.. Ye... Baekga nodded in an know-it-all expression. ..another addition to your long list of reasons 'why you should blame your Karma'...

"Ay... but._"

Enough for today... now

"AAAGH!"

Wake up..

"Aah!"

And Ga Eul woke up with a slightly louder scream and finding herself damped in sweat.

It was morning already—means the demon would stay inside—won't come out till dusk...

She went a hand to her chest.

It was not wet...

And not hollow...

She sighed in relief.

It was another nightmare. More precisely an everyday nightmare she sees, when entering to the death realm by merely falling asleep at night.

I am starving... human!

The demon called out from inside her body.

"A..ahrasso .. I'll get something... " And Ga Eul stepped out from her bed.

...

...

...

After the death of Aunt Myun Gi, it was more confirmed for her neighbourhood, that her niece was a cursed child—bringing misfortune for everyone she loved. Non of her other relatives wanted to adapt her, and even the orphanages had declared her to be a self independent child for their own safety.

All of that made her end up living alone in her parents' old house.

But Ga Eul was still attending school, and the money she earned from the part time job at the porridge shop was barely covering her essential expenses.

She was grateful for her aunt looking after her all that time though, sadly for her, it came with another expense.

The loan sharks—Her late aunt took loans for each and everything whenever she had the chance to do so. She did not think a way to pay them off or how she would be able to pay them off.

And that was why Ga Eul found her home—emptied by those said loan sharks, the next day when she returned back from school.

Furthermore for her own dismay, the house was sealed by the bank.

There was only one place Ga Eul had to go then,—Geum Jandi's. But after two weeks spending there, she had it enough—the Geums speaking behind her back, calling her the reason for every death that happened in town.

Even Jandi was different. She was not that person who kicked the other kindergartener for calling bad names for Ga Eul, but now had grown much distant from her, probably because of her new school and the accusation for her own love life.

Even though Ga Eul knew her reasons to be the way she was, she did not want to apologise. In part, because it came along the declaration about Baekga and in part because she thought an apology was unnecessary in the first place, as even though it was the demon who said that, she had to admit, she wished and believed that it would have caused seemingly less problems if Jandi was straightforward about her feelings from the beginning.

It left her one choice—leaving the house in the fall of dawn, without looking back. She partly wished if Jandi would come looking for her, but for the fear or unforgiven, she did not. Not that she even asked her where she was to live after she stepped out from her house, not at the porridge shop during their shifts.

Maybe she was afraid that Ga Eul would return to her place.

Ga Eul smirked at the thought.

That way the two thought-to-be life long friends broke up.

But Master was kind enough to her, who once came to know that she had slept in the subway the night before, allowed her to sleep in his own shop till she would find a better place.

It was in another afternoon just like the others, So Yi Jeong stepped into that porridge shop. He gazed around looking for a certain Chingu of Jandi.

Ga Eul had fallen asleep on a table burying her face in her folded arms.

And it was Jandi's day off.

Yi Jeong cleared his throat, waking the asleep waitress up.

".. Aren't you...Geum Jandi's Chingu? Umm... Chu Ga Eul? Is it?"

And he grinned receiving a nod from her.

"Let us?..." He gestured at the seat asking her to sit down as well as himself.

"So you were the one who visited Geum Jandi to her school last month?"

"ye.." Ga Eul nodded. "Did something happen to _"

"_ah..anniyo... She's doing alright.. probably with her new boyfriend.." He smirked at the last bit.

"New Boyfriend?"

"Lee Jae Ah."

See... I told you... next time you'll have to be even more precise...

Baekga spoke inside her head, as Ga Eul went thoughtful.

"So... Jandiya.."

"Hmm.." Yi Jeong nodded. "I was not approving it at first myself... though I had never thought she would ditch him this soon... anyway... we had distanced ourselves from her now..."

"You mean that person...what was his name again?"

The blacky...

"Both of them... Junpyo and JiHu... The F4 wouldn't have any connection with her anymore..."

"Oh!" Ga Eul nodded realising. Maybe that was the reason for Jandi being that moody all those days.

But.. then why...?..

"Then?.." Ga Eul gave him a quizzical look.

"Oh! Ye." Yi Jeong gave an apologetic smile with a scratch of his head. " It was actually Ga Eulyang that I came looking for..."

"M-Me?" Ga Eul pointed a finger at herself, even more surprised.

Oh... there goes his charms... .. don't fall for those...he's a playboy! remember?... how much time do you think he spend in the bathroom doing that stupid mess of his hair? ... he spends two hours just to clean those teeth! Can you even look straight at them? Too shiny it will make you blind! ... marry him, you won't see a bathroom for the rest of your mornings...

"Shut up!"

"pardon?" Yi Jeong's smile vanished, a confused look taking its place.

"Hahaha.. ani it's just this disrespectful... umm..." Ga Eul tried to form an answer.

"Disrespectful?" an elegant eyebrow raised.

"Nevermind..." Ga Eul waved her hand. " shall we return to what you were..."

"Oh ye... I thought that... you ... um.. how can I say this?" Yi Jeong rubbed his knuckles looking away thinking of a way to ask her.

Is the flower boy shy now?... Oooh... look!.. he's blushing... think his going to propose you ... Baekga let out an evil smirk.

"Have you got a boyfriend?" Yi Jeong blurted out.

Ga Eul backed off, it was a sudden unexpected question. And Yi Jeong sensed it, quickly correcting his statement.

"I mean was it with your boyfriend, that you came that day to visit Jandi? You know...that...always grinning one?"

The grinning one? Hey! ...

"E-Eh?"

"Do you know him?"

"A-anniyo..hahaha... there was only me Jandiya and you_sorry, how shall I address you?"

"So it was a ghost..." Yi Jeong went silent.

Ghost?!.. you are calling a mighty demon like me a ghost?!... stay back human!.. you are going to get yourself into a big trouble...

"Shut up now!.." Ga Eul whispered again.

"Sorry, what again?"

"Um? Oh ye! How may I address you...mister..?"

"Oh!..." Yi Jeong again grinned. "..thought you already knew me.. my name is So Yi Jeong...and you can call me_"

"_Yi Jeong sunbae? Is that alright?"

There are about one hundred girls who calls him like that .. but I'll call it a better choice as there's about a thousand who calls him OPPA..

Baekga chuckled.

"Ahrasso.. its okay.."

They exchanged a smile.

Yi Jeong again went serious.

"I was going to ask you if... have you ever... seen things? You know.. like the things normal people should not see?"

Like your nightly adventures? Ani .. we haven't yet... Gumao! For asking!...

Ga Eul gritted her teeth again. That demon is never going to shut up.

"L-Like what ?"

"Like ghosts?"

There we go... Baekga rolled his eyes.

"Ghosts?"

"Hm." Yi Jeong nodded. "Have you seen them?"

...

"Even if she had seen them, who in the world with a right mind would declare that they have?"

A tray with two porridge bowls dropped onto the table.

"Eh?"

They both looked at Master's face which appeared in the middle of their conversation from nowhere.

"People would call you crazy! Just because they don't see them they think non of those exist!"

He let out a loud sigh collapsing onto the seat in the middle.

"So what about you? Do you believe in them?" Yi Jeong asked him amused.

"Of course I do! I have done research for fifteen years about them! And people called me crazy for it!"

Master gave out a whimper, stretching his arms on the table burying his face in them.

" Those people are so little minded..." he murmured.

Yi Jeong chuckled, and turned to Ga Eul.

" so what about you?"

Ga Eul hesitated.

Don't let him know that easily!.. he at least got to be a level four friend to unlock the secret about our friendship!..

Baekga complained.

"Well, I have heard things..." Ga Eul hesitated even more.

"Good!" Yi Jeong grinned wider. "Arasso, then both of you can join me ..."

"E-Eh?"

"I am doing a research about the paranormal occurrences..."

"oh.."

"Here's my card .. hope we'll meet in its destination.. Gumao..and Anyeong. " with another grin at Ga Eul he left the shop.

Master snatched the card first. And smelled it.

"What are you doing?" Ga Eul asked, in a more disgusted way than curious.

"It smells like Lavender..." The master answered sniffing the card even more.

They both went thoughtful.

"Yigo?!"

And shared a surprised look.

-to be continued.

A/N:

And that was how both of them got together in their investigations. :)

About Maria rosa cisis's question, The demon was not Ga Eul's appa, it was something else, a more ancient one. It gave the hint that it was not the one it looked, by addressing her differently. Ga Eul's appa is not a demon.

I am not giving Jandi much space in this story, much because I don't know how to juggle her character with this plot. So telling you direct, she won't be coming into light after this chapter.

Instead of her, I will put The master at the porridge shop( Bom Choon sik) into more spot light as he was the only possible candidate for the substitution of George Cubbins—the chubby spectacles with research mind and the loyal friend of Lucy and Lockwood. (in this case, Yi Jeong and Ga Eul. :)
