Omg thank you all so much for the follows and reviews!
It means a lot to me and I am taking all of them into consideration.
Today, I decided upon the aftermath of this episode in honor of Father's Day. You'll see why :)
ONE-SHOT #2: The Aftermath of Jiaying, Missing Scenes
SUMMARY: Set after season 2 episode 22, when Skye fought with her mother, Jiaying, and after Cal killed her
Skye was having to work to breathe after her mother tried to drain her a second time. She looked over at Jiaying's dead body. What kind of mother would try to kill their child?
Then Skye remembered who Jiaying was: a lying, nasty snake. A snake that tricked both her and her Inhuman friends into trying to destroy SHIELD.
"Daisy, you alright?" came her father's voice. He approached her, crouching next to her on the ground of the aircraft carrier.
Skye felt very dizzy and out-of-breath, but she managed to nod. She was propping herself up by her elbows.
Cal gently brushed her hair our of her face, cupping her cheek in his hand. "I'm so sorry, honey. You didn't deserve that." He watched the color slowly come back to his daughter's skin.
She swallowed, beginning to feel a little better as her vision cleared. "It's okay, um..." She hesitated upon what to call him. "...Dad."
Cal's face lit up upon being called that. He smiled. "Come on, Daisy, let's, um, let's go." He motioned to some agents to dispose of Jiaying's body.
Skye nodded and allowed her father to help her stand up and put his arm around her as they approached the inside of the carrier.
As they were in one of the corridors, Skye watched as agents ran around, rushing to get to this place and that.
"What's going on?" she asked her dad.
Cal shook his head in disbelief. "I don't know."
He led her into a conference room, gently sitting her down at one of the chairs. He grabbed a water bottle from one of the mini-fridges and opened the cap for her, handing it to her.
"Let me check your pulse," Cal said, gently pressing two fingers against the inside of her wrist. He nodded in satisfaction. It wasn't strong, no, but it wasn't that weak anymore either.
Skye took a generous sip of the water, gulping it down like it'd been years since she'd tasted water. Once she finally took a break from drinking it, she noticed her hand was trembling a little.
"Um," she started, looking up at her dad, who was now sitting at the table, fiddling with his watch. "Thank you for saving me back there."
Cal smiled at his daughter, patting her trembling hand. Oddly, that comforted Skye. "Of course," he said.
Skye's mind finally cleared enough to start being concerned for her teammates. She abruptly tried to stand up, but only succeeded in collapsing straight back into her chair.
"Hey, hey, don't try that so soon," Cal scolded, grabbing her arm for stability. "You almost got the life drained from you, twice."
"But, Coulson and May and Fitz and Mack and..." Skye's heart starting racing again, making it harder for her to breathe and making the table shake a little with her quakes.
"Relax, Daisy," he commanded.
Skye took a deep breath, using the exercises May taught her to calm herself.
Focus on one thing, and make everything else background noise, she thought to herself. She decided to focus on the conference table. It was a table, and nothing else but that table mattered.
Finally, once she had calmed herself, she and Cal headed to the outside of the carrier to board a quinjet.
Once they got back to the base, Skye rushed to the common room where Jemma and the doctors were performing makeshift-surgery on Bobbi. Skye wanted to go inside but she knew she could only watch from outside the door.
"Please let her be okay," she whispered.
When she turned around, her father was gone. The SHIELD agents had brought him back to containment.
Skye sighed. He had saved her life. Since when did that mean killing your mother?
She grabbed onto the wall for support. She still felt quite sick. She realized she could probably use a medic but with all that was going on with SHIELD, she decided she wasn't a priority.
Skye must have blacked out for a second, because the next thing she noticed was she was sitting on the floor, her back against the wall. She watched as agents passed by her, all with concerned looks on their faces as they headed to wherever they were needed.
Skye finally found a familiar face: Mack.
"Mack!" she said as loud as she could when she saw him start to walk by her, the same concerned expression present on his face.
Mack was surprised to hear Skye because he hadn't seen her.
"Skye, hey! You okay?" he said, reaching down to help Skye up.
She nodded, stumbling a little. His grip was strong, though, and he was able to hold her up easily. She scowled when she saw the blood splatters all over Mack's clothes. "What happened, Mack? Why is everyone so concerned?"
Mack's expression was blank as they started to walk. "Something happened to Coulson."
As if she wasn't already dizzy enough, that news hit Skye hard. Her face turned even paler and she felt like a wave - no, a tsunami - of nervous nausea had hit her all at once. "What...?" she croaked.
Mack had to tighten his grip on Skye to keep the dizzy girl upright. His face remained stoic. "Come on, let's get to the med bay so we can see what's going on."
Once they finally got to the med bay, Skye gasped when she saw Coulson lying in the bed.
"His arm!" she half-screamed.
Mack gently squeezed her arm. "Shh, Skye, he's okay."
Skye gawked at Mack, weakly tearing away from his grasp. Tears were pouring out of her eyes. "How can you even say that?! His arm is CUT OFF!"
Her eyes were wider than the moon, it seemed, and she tried to burst inside the medical room Coulson was in. An agent grabbed her before she could. "Agent Skye, you can't do that," the agent told her.
"YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" Skye screamed, struggling against the agent's grasp. But she was weak and the agent was strong. She hiccupped and choked as she stopped struggling, just staring at the unconscious Coulson. His arm was just...gone. The agent finally let go of her.
"Skye," came a familiar voice. Skye felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned around to see Fitz.
Upon seeing him, Skye burst into tears and buried her face in his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her, rubbing her back soothingly. "Shh, Skye, it's okay," he assured her.
After a few moments, they pulled away. Skye sniffed and rubbed her eye. "What happened to him?" Skye asked quietly, her voice constantly threatening to break.
Fitz sighed. "He saved us. He caught a terrigen crystal in his hand. He would have died if Mack wouldn't have cut off his arm on the spot."
Skye sucked in a deep breath. "Wow, I..."
Fitz looked Skye over. "You're awfully pale, Skye." He knitted his eyebrows with concern.
Skye nodded, wiping a tear and swallowing. "My mom tried to drain me."
"Drain...oh, Skye, I'm so sorry..."
"It's okay." She sighed deeply and the black spots started to reappear in her vision.
Fitz grabbed her arm and gently pulled her toward a desk, sitting her at the chair. "Wait here, okay?"
Skye nodded, and a few minutes later, Fitz came back with a few supplies. He started an IV in her arm to transfuse some blood and got her some extra water bottles.
"Thank you, Fitz," she said to him as she started to feel better.
"Of course, Skye," he said.
Skye loved Fitz like a brother. He was so supportive...
At some point Skye must have fallen asleep, because she remembered feeling someone pull the IV out of her arm, but she was too tired to open her eyes. She felt someone lift her up and carry her, and heard Fitz's muffled voice say something about bringing her to her bunk. After a few minutes, she felt herself being laid down on a bed, probably her own bed, and someone pulling a blanket over her. And then her bunk door closed.
As she drifted back into a deep slumber, Skye remembered how much both Coulson, Cal, and all the men in her life meant to her. She couldn't imagine her life without them.
I hope you all enjoyed this Father's Day special! Please suggest what to do next. I know you all had other suggestions, too, and I am absolutely considering those; I might just have to go back and watch some of the AoS episodes you suggested so I can have an accurate story for you all. That's why it may take a little while.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
