Louise stared at her familiar. She wasn't sure if it was staring back.
It was a bright red, with an oddly glassy "face" and metal tubes attached to its back. It wiggled slightly, and Louise pondered its toe-like shape.
It tilted slightly, like a confused dog… with no neck. It had to tilt its whole body to express confusion.
"What… are you?"
Everyone had asked that question at the ritual circle, but Louise had no answers. She tried to convince the crowd that her new familiar was mighty and noble, but she herself had no clue what she was looking at.
She poked it. "Are you… made of metal? Like a golem? I've never seen metal this flexible…"
It tilted the other direction. It was almost cute. Louise carefully wrapped it in a hug. It began vibrating, and she immediately let go.
Vibrating? No. It was shaking. "Did I scare you?"
Of course, it didn't respond. Louise rolled her eyes. Whoever heard of a familiar that spoke? She was just being silly. "Well then, if you're my familiar, you should be able to help me out." She took off her clothes and stuffed them in her hamper. "Here. Wash this for-" Louise halted.
Her familiar was suddenly rigid. Intent. It reached out, smoothly and efficiently, hands outstretched.
"Uh." Louise gave it the hamper, and it immediately took off, opening her door and rushing down the hall. "…Okay?"
Red didn't know where it was, but that was the least of its problems. There were so many people here, far beyond the standard dozen. And they were bewildering, in that they seemed to be completely at ease with each other. Did they not know what danger they were in?
It would start small. A body, in an inconspicuous place, with obvious evidence of being murdered. Someone would call a meeting to discuss it. Endless arguing, keeping track of who was where at what times. But with so many people, they could hide so easily.
It would be even worse here. Red counted over thirty people alone, but the location's layout was proportionally far larger than normal. It'd be nearly impossible to keep track of who was doing what.
But at least there was a confirmed real crewmate. Despite being alone with Red, the Pink One had not murdered it. Even touched it without causing any harm. Unless… this was some sort of play? A way to get Red's trust?
It would wait. It would watch. It would do its tasks, such as this "washing the hamper" business.
And at the first moment it spotted trouble? It would sound the alarm.
A/N: Behold, a Gandalfr completely unable to use weapons! The red guy from Among Us. Pros: Quick on its feet, excellent at chores, very good at keeping track of suspicious individuals. Cons: Highly paranoid, doesn't really do anything other than chores, and incapable of fighting off enemies.
