Kol woke up with a gasp, quickly sitting up in his bed from the nightmare he just had. He kicked all the blankets off, still in a trance of going down memory lane just like his dream had with his past.

Always being the odd one out, losing his magic (his connection to the earth), having to put up a mask in front of everyone to hide himself - what he really feels.

He's finding it hard to breath and calm down with everything running a hundred miles within his head. Trying to think he didn't know what to do with being too shaken up to fall back asleep. Frankly he didn't want to either, now even sleeping doesn't feel safe for him and it was just a horrible nightmare/flashback montage of his past. Including his fear of being abandoned and alone by his siblings again, to Mikael hunting him down and trying to kill him. In his dream Mikael had succeeded with doing so.

He only remembers getting nightmares like these when he was still a kid and how Elijah or Klaus were the ones who comforted him afterwards. But that was a thousand years they most definitely wouldn't now. And most likely with his luck if he did go to one of them, he would get straight up laughed at.

He sat there breathing unevenly for a good ten minutes before getting up. 'You know what. Fuck it' kol thought to himself before he stood up and walked over to the door, venturing out of his room.

The first of his siblings rooms he came across was Klaus' and at first he had second thoughts about his choices but knocked before he had the chance to leave.

Almost immediately the door was opened by Klaus, expecting it to be an enemy or something along those lines with the expression Kol saw he had at first. He calmed fast, recognizing that it was only his little brother.

"What happened?" He asked concerned, seeing the tear streaks on Kol's cheeks.

Kol looked down at the ground sheepishly before mumbling, "I had a nightmare" that Klaus wouldn't be able to hear without the vamp hearing.

Klaus looked surprised that Kol came to him and confessed to having a nightmare prior.

"Umm, I'll just go-" he said and was about to walk away before being pulled into Klaus' room. Klaus walked him over to his bed and they both sat down, facing each other.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, falling back into the rhythm of how he handled this a thousand years ago.

Kol hesitated at first but slowly nodded. "I kept on having flashbacks of the past with the killings and being abandoned by you guys and then Mikael hunting me down, finding me and then staking me with the white oak" He vented out, a couple tears escaping his eyes.

Klaus looked at his youngest brother with a frown on his face. Before he could say anything, Kol crashed into him, wrapping his arms around his torso and laying his head on his older brother's shoulder. Reacting fast, Klaus hugged him back with one arm and the other handheld the back of his head.

Sobs started to escape from Kol and following after was his shaking body, reminding himself of his nightmare. Klaus started to gently rock him back and forth, hoping to calm him down a bit.

"Can I stay with you tonight?' Kol whispered.

"Of course, you can, little brother. Let's lay down, alright" He gently said.

Kol just sat there, not making a move to stand up.

"Are you really going to make me carry you?" Klaus said with a humorous tone of voice. Kol thought for a second then nodded, not feeling like leaving his older brother's warmth.

He stood up with his little brother in his arms - one arm supporting him, the other situated behind his head and turned off the lights before going back to the bed. Once they got situated, laying down, Kol was practically on top of Klaus with his head nuzzled in his chest.

"I missed this" he said softly while Klaus is playing around with his hair, running his fingers through the knots.

"Me too" He kissed the top of his head.

And that's how Rebekah found two of her brothers in the morning. Cuddled up with Klaus' arms wrapped around Kol, as if he were protecting him.

I took all her might not to 'Aww' at the appearance in front of her. Before she left them, she quickly took out her phone and snapped a couple of pictures knowing she was going to show them to Elijah as soon as she finds him.
