To the random people who are actually reading this, I hope you're really safe at home and I'm sorry I don't post often because I have school, I work on other stories sometimes, and overall, I have a busy life so I am SO sorry if I made you wait for this to update. Very soon, this fanfiction will be going on hiatus, sadly, but I just need some time to get things going properly. (also because i'm making a HUGE chapter that's gonna be VERY long hopefully you can wait) If you can, i would love it if you followed this story (after you read it ofc) and my other story (Tigerclaw's Revenge) will be continuing and won't stop until i feel like it's a good time to stop. My editor left, so I'm currently on my own..but if you don't know her name is SoVeryTired. If this blanks out, sorry but i can't do nothin bout it. (try So Very Tired with no spaces) I once again hope you enjoy this chapter and make sure to keep yourself busy during quarantine~ (make sure to check out my other stories) If you actually read through this, you have POWER :3 Anywho, enjoy~ :D (If you're not into Percy Jackson, I suggest you don't look up my editor because..she only writes Percy Jackson stories)

Yellowfang awoke in the center of the camp, feeling COLD. She rolled onto her back and slowly got up, feeling the burn in her joints.
Sagewhisker's head peaked through the entrance of the medicine cat den.
"Ah, you're FINALLY awake. Come, we have a busy day. It's the first day of leaf-fall and we have to get catmint, and other sorts of herbs. Let's go!" She shoved Yellowfang forward and Yellowfang stumbled, still feeling stiff.
Sagewhisker huffed. "That's what you get for sleeping out here. The dawn patrol already left a long time ago."
Yellowfang slowly trudged towards the tunnel, where they exited camp. Sagewhisker was in the lead, obviously.
"Now, let's start with teaching you what these herbs look and smell like. Come this way." Sagewhisker led Yellowfang to a weird-smelling place that had a bunch of leaves on the ground and a fence circling the entire field/weird-smelling place.
"Sorry, but what is this place?" Yellowfang asked, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
Sagewhisker shrugged. "It's a rat carrion-place but it has plenty of healthy herbs." There was a small squeak in the back. Suddenly tons of rats came spilling out of a hole and raced straight towards Yellowfang. She closed her eyes and screamed, trying to run.
There was overlapped yowling. Did Sagewhisker just save her? Yellowfang slowly opened her eyes to find Blackpaw, Raggedpelt, and Brackenfoot battling the rats while Sagewhisker was peering over Yellowfang.
"Are you okay, Yellowfang?" Sagewhisker asked. Yellowfang could barely hear her from all the screeching coming from the cats and rats.
"I'm fine, but Raggepelt's not!" Yellowfang launched herself onto the rat that was biting at Raggedpelt's spine. Yellowfang viciously ripped it off before collapsing in pain. There was a sting on her back that hurt a lot, as if something bit that place, hard.
Blackpaw was battling with four rats by himself while Sagewhisker was running back to the camp to get help. All Yellowfang could do was watch. The pain in her back hurt so badly that she wondered if the bite on Raggedpelt felt the same.
Suddenly she heard the pounding of pawsteps as Cedarstar emerged with Stonetooth, Nightpelt, and Stumpytail, Finchflight, and Crowtail right behind him. Sagewhisker followed in last, her face twisted in horror.
Brackenfoot broke off from the fight and raced towards his daughter.
"Are you okay?!" He asked, trying to lift her up onto her feet. Yellowfang swayed a bit then steadied herself.
"I think I'm fine." She muttered. Yellowfang instantly launched herself back into the battle and fought beside Stonetooth.
The rats drove the two cats to the tree. Stonetooth stumbled and caught his paw in a root and fell. At that instant, Yellowfang felt pain in her leg, but not a sting, an ache, as if she just...tripped over something.
Yellowfang helped the senior tom back up and brought him to shelter, where Sagewhisker was. The old medicine cat had a mouthful of herbs that she set down and started to check Stonetooth's wounds.
Yellowfang limped back into battle, her leg still in pain. She stumbled towards Raggedpelt, her vision not very clear. Everything around her was blurry and swayed back and forth. Yellowfang felt her eyes slowly close.

Yellowfang woke up in a strange place. It had nice grass and smelled amazing, but this wasn't ShadowClan. Yellowfang knew this place somehow.
"I'm glad you're awake, dear." Said a voice behind her. Yellowfang turned around to see her grandmother's soft eyes.
"Silverflame!" She exclaimed. "What is this place? I-i don't understand."
Silverflame smiled. "This is StarClan." She murmured. Yellowfang took a pace back.
"I can't be dead! I have so much more to live for! A-and what about Sagewhisker? She's getting old and needs someone to take her place!" Yellowfang wailed.
"Hush. You're not dead. You're just here because you need to wait for your body to heal." Silverflame meowed.
"But no rat touched me in that battle!" Yellowfang protested. "How am I the most wounded? I didn't get hurt at all!"
Silverflame shook her head. "You have a unique power. I can't tell you now, but sooner or later, someone will." She said before disappearing.
Yellowfang awoke in an instance and wriggled around, destroying her nest while kicking Raggedpelt in the face.
"Ow!" He yelled. Yellowfang felt pity for him this time. She winced and backed away.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to." She apologized.
Raggedpelt laughed. "It's fine, I guess." I guess? Yellowfang looked at the ground with a sigh.
Sagewhisker emerged with a mouthful of herbs. "Ah, Yellowfang. You're awake. Come eat a bit." Yellowfang dragged herself forward and took a bite of the frog. She hadn't eaten anything in days so when she ate that frog it was like she was in heaven.
"What happened?" Yellowfang asked sitting up. "I feel like I was knocked out for a while."
Raggedpelt chuckled. "You were knocked out for two days. And while we were patrolling, we heard you scream so we came, then Sagewhisker got back-up. We won the fight but the majority of the warriors included were injured. Sagewhisker said that you were barely touched and she didn't know why you passed out."
Yellowfang tilted her head. "But something was hurting. No rat touched me but something still hurt. I just don't know what did."
Sagewhisker flicked her tail. "I'm still here, guys. Yellowfang you were found unharmed. You have a unique power, which is why I kept asking you to be my apprentice. I just felt that you would be perfect for the job."
"Sagewhisker, as much as I love being a medicine cat, how am I supposed to be one when I long to go hunting, go to battles for my clan, and most importantly, how am I supposed to live without Raggedpelt in my life?" Yellowfang murmured.
Beside her, Raggedpelt's face turned red. He looked like he was about to explode but he calmed himself down and spoke up, supporting Yellowfang.
"I agree completely. I can't live without Yellowfang beside me. We were meant to be hunting together, battling side-by-side." He meowed. "It just hit me hard that Yellowfang chose that life path instead of the one with me."
Yellowfang looked away. She couldn't bare to let go of the future she would have with Raggedpelt, but someone had to be the next medicine cat. Sagewhisker was getting old and there wasn't anyone willing to take her place.
Suddenly a thought came to her mind. When she was healing in StarClan...that cat..."Silverflame!"
