About fifteen minutes passed by and the six teens got comfortable in their seats. Everyone was already bored in their seats. Samantha was leaning back against her seat with her arms and legs crossed. Andrew unzipped his letterman and leaned back against the chair, heaving a sigh.
Bender was swaying his propped-up feet back and forth. Things were pretty quiet for the most part until they all heard a snapping noise coming from the back. Andrew, Claire, John, Brian, and Samantha turn around to face towards the sound and they see that it was Allison biting her nails.
They watched in disgust, especially Samantha. Allison had seen them all staring at her but she just ignored them. "You keep eating your hand, you won't be hungry for lunch," John said. In response to that, Allison bites off another nail and spits it at him.
"I've seen you before, you know," John says, getting Samantha to roll her eyes. Of course they've seen each other before since they go to the same school. Even if you don't talk to one another, they avoid being seen by their patrons.
John turns his attention towards Samantha and says, "And you. I've seen you around a few times," Samantha looks over her shoulder at him, giving him a glare. "Be glad you did. Although I try to stay in damn shadows," she tells him curtly. John and Andrew gave her a smirk.
Samantha scoots back and starts taking off her leather jacket and throws it over the back of her chair. Everyone's eyes were glued back to her while she took it off. Underneath her leather jacket, was her green tank top. On her right wrist, there were scars, like she had cut them.
Those scars caught Andrew's attention quickly but he didn't say anything about them. Those scars weren't any of their business. Samantha rolled her shoulders to relieve the tension from this morning. She faces forward again, looking away from the others.
Brian started thinking of ideas for writing his essay. "Who do you think I am? Who are you? Who are you? I am the walrus," Brian muttered from behind Samantha. She couldn't help but smirk at what he was saying.
John pulled off his scarf along with his jacket, stopping half way when he saw Brian taking his jacket off at the same time. Samantha could hear Brian muttering to himself again but she ignored him, hoping that this day would pass quickly.
The sound of paper being crumpled up caused Allison, Samantha, and Brian to look toward John, who was staring at Claire's back. He threw the paper over her head and started to hum obnoxiously. It was honestly irritating Samantha but she wouldn't let him see it.
"Oh shit! What if we have to take a piss?" John blurted. Claire turns to face him and she scoffs. Samantha turns to face John and sees his hands go under the table. They hear the sound of his fly unzipping. "Oh, you're not going to piss in here, are you?" Samantha said in disgust.
Andrew turned around to face him, a look of slight anger on his face. "You're not urinating in here, man." Andrew said. Samantha's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink when Andrew spoke for the first time. But she didn't want them to see it.
"Don't talk! Don't talk, it crawls back up!" John continued, closing his eyes as if he was trying to focus. "You whip it out and you're dead before the first drop hits the floor!" Andrew spat, his voice firm. John opens his eyes and looks at him with a sly smirk.
"You're pretty sexy when you get angry," John commented sheepishly. 'He's not wrong…' Samantha thought, not wanting to say that out loud. She turned towards John, leaned forward a little and said, "Look, wiseass, there's a damn bathroom down the hall if you gotta need to take that piss,"
He nodded before sitting back up and leaning forward. Andrew turned back around to face the front, ignoring what they said. Samantha also turned back around and sat back with her arms crossed over her chest again.
"Hey, homeboy, how about you close the door?" John said, getting Brian's attention. He then points towards the library doors, which Vernon made clear that they'd stay open while they were in detention. "We'll get the prom queen and Matthews impregnated," John continued.
Samantha turned her head towards him along with Claire. Claire stared at John with a look of disgust. "You wanna say that again, asshat?" Samantha spat at John. Andrew turns around to face the criminal, who had a bored look on his face.
"What?" John said. "If I lose my temper, you're totaled," Andrew threatened, the tone in his voice showing he was in no mood to deal with John. Samantha smirked when he said the word, 'totaled,' She wouldn't expect a guy like him to say something like that.
"Totally?" John said. Andrew leaned closer, eyes widened and not blinking. "Totally," Andrew repeated more clearly. Claire glared at John before turning back around along with Andrew. "Would you shut the fuck up? Nobody gives a damn," Samantha spat. "Really, buttface," Andrew commented, not finding a better thing to say.
"Well, Sporto, what'd you do to get in here? Forget to wash your jock?" John continued, bringing both of his hands together and leaning against the table. Samantha turns back around to face John, giving him a glare. "Um… I think we should do the essay," Brian said.
"Look, just because you're here doesn't give you the right to be a pain in the ass, so knock it off!" Andrew shouted at the last part. "Exactly, so do us all a favor and mind your own fucking business," Samantha added. Andrew glances at her for a moment before turning back around. He didn't know this girl but he was starting to like her spunky attitude.
"It's a free country," John shrugged, leaning forward while keeping an eye on both Samantha and Claire. Samantha has seen these kids before around school but never had the guts to actually talk to them. They had nothing in common.
"He's just doing it to get a rise out of the two of you, just ignore him," Claire said to Andrew and Samantha, nervous energy wafting off of her. They listened to her whereas John's eyes were still on Claire's back. "Sweets, you and Matthews over there couldn't ignore me if neither of you tried," John said slyly. Now Samantha understood why she never bothered with Bender the whole time they were in school.
