1999
Toxica looked at her friend who was still on the phone zigzagging back and forth as he talked. She knew the conversation wasn't going all too well for him, so she tried to concentrate on something else.
She picked up a magazine from nearby and started to find an interesting article to peak her interest. She struck gold and started reading something she found.
"Yes, I heard," Jindrax said on the cell phone. He tried to keep his frustration in check and also his temper. He was being hard to control it.
"I understand, but we tried to tell….." Jindrax was cut off from the conversation he was having. He wanted to chuck the phone away somewhere, anywhere, away from him. This conversation was leading to a dead end, Jindrax could tell. All the pleas that Jindrax was giving did not help his case while he continued to listen on the other end of the cell phone.
"Understood," Jindrax said as he hung up the phone. He made a fist and slammed it on the car hood. The startled Toxica who was lost in her own world as she was reading something in the magazine.
"Uh, so…." All she could muster up. Toxica wanted to say something else, but she was having trouble trying to get the words out since she did not want to ascertain anything else.
Jindrax shook his head as he looked at his friend. "We're to go back and pick up the delivery we dropped off at Angel Grove Gardens. The manager said the equipment we delivered was defective and that we should have warned her."
"But we did warn her!" Toxica's voice nearly jumped out. Her attitude that of sheer surprise and disappointment as both she and Jindrax told the manager that what she ordered might not work.
"And as a result, the boss has reprimanded us," Jindrax added.
Toxica slammed the magazine she was reading on the ground. "Of all the nerve of…." She stopped in mid sentence. "But what does that mean for us?"
Jindrax had a sullen expression. "The boss said if we do that again, we're fired."
Toxica's eyes lit up like lights turned on. She was fuming. "You kidding me? After all we've been doing for him, for this company for years now. Going back and forth from one delivery to another, from one place to another, and even getting the packages delivered ahead of schedule." Her long tirade going through everything the two of them have been through together. "And this is how he thanks us! Repays us!"
Toxica roamed back and forth like an animal trying to find food. "Oh no, no, no, no, no…"
Jindrax had a solemn expression on his face. "I know, but there's nothing we can do."
Toxica looked at her friend. She was biting her lower lip. "These humans, these humans, Jindrax. They're getting way too out of control for us."
"So what do you want us to do about it, zap them with our Org magic?"
"That wouldn't be such as bad idea," Toxica smiled sinister to her friend.
"And expose us to the world!" Jindrax shook his head. "I don't think so, at least not yet anyway."
Before the two of them could continue their conversation, they overheard some people approaching nearby.
"I can't believe you got the gold in the Pan Global Games, Kim," Trini said as she was walking.
"I knew you'd bet the competition!" Zach triumphantly stated. "I mean just watching last month, you knocked everyone out of the park!"
Kim smiled at her two friends. She was caressing her gold metal she had won last month. She was not only happy but also relieved through years of practice and sacrifice, much more than anyone else had ever experienced.
"Well, I'm just glad it's over with to be honest with you guys," Kim said. "All that constant training was getting to me. It was putting me in a bad mood, you know."
"And to think, when I first met you you were in a bad mood," Justin said as he was walking with the others. He chuckled to himself somewhat because Kim turned evil when they first met Divatox.
Kim gave a scornful look at the former blue turbo ranger. "Don't remind me. I'm still haunted by that."
"You think you're haunted by that, I'm still haunted when I fell out of the ring and broke my back," Rocky said to the other four.
"But at least you never lost your appetite Rocky," Trini laughed at the man's expense.
"True," Rocky lamented. "Speaking of which…."
That caused the other four to laugh.
Zach smiled at his friends. "Come on, I'll buy you all some lunch at the Juice Bar. I heard Lieutenant Stone has improved his menu."
"What happened to Ernie?" Kim asked.
"Still in South America helping out according to Bulk and Skull," Zach answered.
"Sounds like what T.J. and the others are doing, helping rebuild the parts of Angel Grove that were damaged in last year's attacks by Astronema," Justin added. "Hey, speaking of food, did I ever tell you guys that I was baked into a giant pizza when I was a ranger?" Justin questioned the others.
"What!" All four said in confusion and surprise at the same time causing Justin to smile as the five made their way to the Juice Bar.
As the coast was clear, Jindrax looked at Toxica. "If we have any more problems, we'll quit that job and find another one, one where we're appreciated."
Toxica smiled and was pleased with what could happen since she was not pleased with her current situation.
