2000
Despite the fact that it had been seven months since Jindrax and Toxica had talked about walking away from their employer due to the fact that there was a problem with a package that was delivered that they both tried to warn their client, they still got blamed and their boss threatened them with being fired. After that, no other problems had occurred with them or their boss. Until now….
Toxica was driving the truck carrying some more packages. Jindrax was in tow riding shotgun looking out the window.
"Where are we going again?" Jindrax gazed out the window looking at the traffic increasing as they were coming up to a nearby city.
It took a while for them to get from Angel Grove to where they were going to, at least a few hours.
"Mariner Bay," Toxica continued to concentrate on her driving. The stop was getting close for them to deliver what they needed to do.
"Mariner Bay?" Jindrax had a bewildered look on his face as he looked at his friened. "Home of the Lightspeed Rangers?"
"Uh huh," Toxica half replied.
Suddenly a nearby explosion rocked the highway they were on. Toxica slammed on the breaks to the truck as other cars came to a halt. Jindrax winced his eyes hoping that no one would hit the truck because of the explosion.
From the front of the view, the two orgs looked at a nearby monster coming out of the cracked concrete from the highway. The monster laughed as it looked around and saw some of the damage it had caused. Since the monster had made it's way from below, various people who had stopped their cars got out of them and ran away in terror. Jindrax and Toxica looked on, somewhat in terror but also annoyed they were still dealing with monsters since the United Alliance of Evil was put to a dead stop thanks to Zordon's energy wave.
"Oh brother," Jindrax was half annoyed at the monster.
The monster saw the two orgs who finally got out of their vehicle. They were pretty much the other two left on the highway since all others had flee to safety. The nearby skyline of Mariner Bay engulfed the background.
"Humans!" The monster responded. "I'm surprised you're still here. But not for long."
Suddenly the monster raised up it's hands and fired energy from it. Toxica and Jindrax dodged fast and moved away from their truck. Unfortunately the truck itself got blown to bits from the energy beams from the monster.
"Our truck!" Toxica cried out.
"You son of a…" Jindrax slammed his fists on the ground mad with anger and rage. "That was our truck."
The monster smiled with glee. "Oh boo hoo. Cry me a river."
The monster raised it's hands again, about to fire some more energy at the two orgs but was stopped with a yellow hummer entered the scene.
The hummer stopped and six young adults around twenty or so got out of the hummer and surrounded the monster.
"That's far enough demon," Carter pressed on at the monster.
"Demon?" Both Jindrax and Toxica replied together as they looked at each other.
Monsters, demons, Rita and Zedd, the Machine Empire, Queen Bansheera. When will all of that end? Jindrax thought. Both even heard of another group of rangers defending the space colony of Terra Venture last year. There was just too much evil that had been surfacing within the last seven years or so.
"Damaging a state highway, definitely not how I wanted to start the afternoon," Joel replied as he looked at the damage the monster had caused.
"And it looks like I'll damage the six of you as well," the monster wasted no time with a retort back to the rangers.
"Unlikely," Carter was dead serious. "Let's do it. Lightspeed Rescue!" He called out.
"Titanium Power!" Ryan called out.
All six rangers morphed to their respective ranger colored costumes.
The demon just laughed. "Batlngs!"
The foot soldiers of Bansheera appeared.
"Let's show our spandex heroes we mean business," the demon led the charge. The batlings ran across charging and then attacked the rangers.
Toxica and Jindrax watched some of the fight and then fled the scene in safety.
Sometime Later
Jindrax had managed to find a pay phone since the cell phone he used was inside the truck and got blown up. He was having a heated discussion as Toxica listened.
"But it wasn't our fault!" Jindrax raised his voice from agitation. "We did nothing wrong!"
Toxica could only guess what their manager was saying to her friend from the other end of the receiver, although a part of her did not want to know.
"Then if that's the case, we quit!" Jindrax yelled before hanging up the phone. He wished he was back at the office so he could punch his manager in the face several times. Humans are becoming more and more of a problem with their attitudes and behavior than decades or centuries past.
Toxica noticed that he was shaking and trembling from yelling at their former boss. She went to him to console him and placed her arm around his back. "Hey, hey…."
Jindrax sighed as he was calming down. He looked at his friend.
"We'll just get another job, one where we'll have a better boss," Toxica reassured him. "Perhaps we can even be our own bosses."
He nodded somewhat hesitantly. "But wherever we work, let's not get in a city that is overrun by monsters and power rangers."
Toxica smiled as they proceeded to formulate a plan of getting a new job preferably as far away from power ranger activity.
