Hey, hey! I'm back with a new chapter and wanted to give a shoutout to my girl JustCherry73 for reviewing! Love you girl! Now, for this chapter...this one is for those who are a fan of Lucy/Randy. However, I'm sure not many of you are considering this is a Lucy/Drew story! xD Anywho, I'll leave it at that and let you read!
I don't own anyone affiliated with the WWE, I only own Lucy and the storyline.
Enjoy!
Lucy POV
It's been a week since Randy has said a word to me. I meant what I said to Drew, when I was going to let Randy come to me when he is ready, but I didn't think it would have been a week. Or in this case, longer than that.
Whenever we are in the same room together…which happens more often than not, he won't even look in my direction. Then again, I know he is finding any excuse to not have to be around me. I just want to know what I did wrong to have him ignore me so suddenly and to keep me at arms length. I miss my best friend.
Drew even know's something is up, but Randy won't talk to him either. And they've been best friends practically their entire lives.
I make my way into the dining hall to grab some water, smiling at my people as I go. I seem to have made a good impression on them, otherwise I'm sure they would be acting differently towards me.
I take small sips of my water as I head towards the training field and keep my distance. Drew and Randy have their men in order and bark orders at them, correcting mistakes that are made as the soldiers continue to practice their fighting skills for battle. Whenever that may be. I just hope not any time soon. If something is happening, Drew isn't telling me about it.
With that thought, I huff, knowing that I should be aware on the going on's of the country. I am Queen after all. I make my way further into the training field area and the first one to notice me is Randy. However, he doesn't acknowledge me, only alerts Drew to my presence.
Looking over at me, Drew smiles widely and beckons me over as the men continue with their training. Lifting my skirts, I trudge across the grass and dirt to make my way towards my husband. The sweat glistening on his broad and hair dusted chest is doing things to me, but I have to keep up appearances for the sake of Drew. We can deal with my desire to have him later. Because let's face it, there hasn't been a time where Drew has denied me, nor I him. Cocky son a bitch knows what he's doing when it comes to that.
"My Queen, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Drew asks as I approach and wraps an arm around my waist the second I make it to his side.
"I couldn't just come to see my husband and what he is up to?" I ask, feigning shock while look up at him with a smile, resting a hand on his chest.
"Of course you can," Drew says, grabbing my hand, "I just didn't think you'd have any interest in seeing this," He adds, nodding his head out towards his men.
"Anything that concerns you, I have interest in," I reply and step onto my tip toes to press a kiss to Drew's lips.
I hear Randy's grunt of displeasure by our display of affection, but it turns into a growl when their men start to hoot and whistle at Drew and I.
Both Drew and Randy snap their heads in the mens' direction. I tuck my face into Drew's chest, but turn my head to watch the scene before me. I don't think these men will ever learn and as childish as it is, I find it somewhat amusing that these grown men don't mind getting chewed out by their commanders time and time again for the same thing.
Randy goes to open his mouth to address them, but Drew places his free hand onto Randy's shoulder, silencing him. Randy looks over at Drew with a lifted brow.
"Let me take care of them," Drew says and Randy nods his head in confirmation. Turning his attention towards his men, Drew bellows out, "I am sick and tired of your childish ways when it comes to myself and Your Queen! My wife! Are you men warriors or are you little boys, who get their excitement from a small display of affection between your King and Queen?!" He yells at them and I duck my head further into Drew's chest.
Randy seems to have seen my action because he looks over and down at me with soft eyes. 'You okay?' He mouths to me and I produce a small smile and nod my head subtly, mouthing back a 'yes'.
I completely miss the rest of Drew having to scold his men like children because my eyes were on Randy…happy that he even looked at me, let alone spoke to me, even if it was silently.
I tug on Drew's arm to get his attention and when he looks down at me, a hint of rage still lingers in his eyes. "I'm going to go back inside. It's apparent that I'm too much of a distraction here," I whisper to him and a slight pout grows on his face, but understanding can also be seen on it.
Nodding his head, Drew replies, "alright, I'll be back in a few hours. I love you," he tells me and I smile gently up at him.
"I love you, too, baby," I whisper back and push up on my tip toes to press a quick kiss to Drew's lips before walking back to the confines of the castle.
Several hours later…
Shortly after supper ends, Drew makes a hasty exit out of the dining hall…for what, I have no idea. But he presses a quick kiss to my lips…similar to what I did to him earlier in the day…and tells me that he will see me in a couple of hours.
I watch him leave the room with a confused look on my face, but I let it go because it's not the first time he's done it. I look at the far end of the table where I saw Randy sit, to find that he is still there.
I down the rest of my wine, in a ladylike manner, of course, and get up from my seat, making my way towards Randy. He catches my eye as I get to his end of the table and I slow enough so I can mouth the words 'library please' to him and leave the large room.
I chose the library because no one ever really uses it and it will give me the privacy I want to speak to Randy. I walk into the library and scout the area quickly to reassure myself that no one is here to eavesdrop or hear our conversation. That is…if Randy does decide to follow behind me.
I continue on deeper into the large room and look at some of the books as I wait, but keep myself in view of the door I entered.
A few minutes later, I begin to give up hope that he's not going to meet me and release a disappointed sigh, when I hear the not so quiet door open. I spin around to see who it is and smile when I see that it is in fact Randy.
He looks around for a few moments until his eyes land on me and he stands up straight, closing the door behind him. I flash him a small smile as I put back the book I was looking at.
"Lucy. Is everything alright?" Randy asks me, a slight panic can be heard in his tone. I internally smile at his concern, considering what happened last week. To which I still have a hard time comprehending what happened.
I gently nod my head and walk closer to him as he closes the distance between us. I look up at him with happy, but sad eyes. "I miss you, Randy. I want my best friend back. I know I have Drew, but he's not you. He can't make me laugh in ways you can," I tell him softly, looking up into his blue eyes as I grab his hand.
Randy sighs deeply through his nose, closing his eyes before reopening them to look down at me. "I miss you, too, Luce. Believe me, I do," he tells me and I look up at him in disbelief.
"Then why have you been ignoring and avoiding me all week? You haven't even spoken a complete sentence to me until just now," I retort, upset.
Shaking his head at me, Randy takes the hand of his that I'm holding and links our fingers. I look down at our joined hands before looking back up at him in confusion. "I can't tell you why, Lucy. I want to, but I can't," he responds, sadly and my brows furrow.
"Of course you can, Randy. You can tell me anything. You know that," I say, rubbing my thumb on the back of his hand. The painful look on his face from my action, confuses me even more.
"I know I can, but I can't with this. Just please believe me when I say from here on out, I won't let it affect our friendship," he tells me and removes his hand from my hold.
I really do wish I knew what was going on through his head right now and why he feels he can't tell me what has been plaguing him this entire time. I want to help him, but I can tell he is going to refuse to let me.
Taking a deep breath, I nod my head in defeat as I look back up at him, "okay, I believe you," I say. "Can I just have my best friend back, please? I really do miss you and I also wanted to thank you for earlier, for checking on me when we were out by the training field," I add on, flashing Randy a small smile.
"Just because I couldn't be around you, didn't mean that I didn't still care about you. You're my girl; I'd never let anything happen to you," Randy tells me, pulling me into his large arms for a hug.
I smile into his chest, returning his hug as best I can. Considering, I'm half his size that is. "I love you, Randy," I muffle into his chest and I know he heard me, because he tightens the hold he has on me.
Randy presses his lips into my hair, smiling into it. "I love you, too, baby girl," he whispers and rests his cheek on the top of my head.
I pull back some so I can look up at Randy with a smile before releasing my hold on him completely. "I have to ask though, why are you not with Drew? Where he is, you're usually not far behind and vice versa," I ask Randy with a lifted eyebrow.
Chuckling Randy shakes his head and holds his arm out for me and I loop my own arm through it, grasping his bicep. "Not always, Luce. We may be best friends, but we're not attached at the hip. And besides, I honestly have absolutely no idea where he is or what he is doing. We can go search for him if you'd like," Randy offers.
As we stand there, I contemplate if we should or not, then I shake my head, "I'll see him in a little bit. I don't want to disturb him from whatever he's doing. Besides, I haven't spent time with my best friend all week," I reply, grinning up at him. "Maybe we could play some chess or checkers? Or maybe we can play cards? It's been a while since I've done that," I tell Randy and he turns to me, causing me to release my hold on his arm.
"Ya know, I like the sound of playing some cards. I have a deck in my chambers. Give me a couple of minutes to go grab them and I'll meet you back in here?" He asks me and my smile broadens.
"I love it," I clap happily, "I'll wait here for you while you go fetch them," I tell Randy.
"Perfect. I'll be right back then; don't miss me too much, baby girl," he winks at me cheekily, pressing a kiss to my cheek.
I playfully swat at him as he releases a booming laugh and leaves the library.
"Such a trouble maker," I say to myself quietly, smiling and grab a book to keep myself occupied while I wait for Randy to return. I find a comfortable spot on the floor and open my book to start reading.
A few minutes later, as promised, Randy walks back into the library, deck of cards in hand. He looks down at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Is there a reason you're sitting on the floor?" He asks me and I close the book, setting it next to me as I look up at him with the same look.
"I didn't know I wasn't allowed to. I mean, this place is half mine now, isn't it?" I retort and my eyes follow Randy as he sits across from me on the floor.
"That's not what I meant and you know it. I'm just asking because the floor isn't exactly the most comfortable place to be sitting," Randy replies, leaning his back against the couch that sits next to us.
"I know that, but I figured it would easier to play like this and use the floor as our table," I explain and lean the side of my body on the couch, facing Randy.
Randy weighs my response in his head, eventually nodding in reply, "I guess you do have a point there."
I grin at my best friend and sit up straight, "okay, so what are we going to play? I'm thinking Rummy. Unless you have another game in mind," I say.
Shaking his head, "nope, I'm perfectly fine with Rummy," Randy says, shuffling the cards before handing them out.
I pick up my cards and rearrange them to help make it easier for me to play and Randy does the same. I wait for him to finish before I pick up my first card.
I watch Randy for a bit, trying to gauge his reaction to his cards and his plays, along with mine. Little does Randy know about me, is that I taught myself how to play cards when I had nothing else to do with my time while practically being held hostage by my demon father.
A handful of plays later, I pick up my last card and purse my lips playfully and lift my eyes towards Randy. He furrows his brows at me before his eyes widen. "You didn't…" he says and I grin.
"…I did," I say, my grin broadening as I place down my winning cards, "Rummy," I say quietly.
Randy POV
I shake my head, "there's no way. How the hell did you win so quickly?" I ask Lucy, genuinely flabbergasted.
Lucy chuckles, collects the cards and begins to shuffle them, "let's just say I've had plenty of time to teach myself how to play, when I had nothing else to keep me occupied. Before I met you guys, that is," she replies with a smile, not seeming to have her father on her mind at all.
It makes me ecstatic to know that Drew and I have seem to have made her forget about her father altogether. I've never seen her more happy than what she's been since before becoming comfortable with me and Drew. And quite honestly, since last week and I do know I have myself to blame for that.
"Hmm, I don't know if I fully believe you. I think I need to be more convinced," I reply, my tone joking and playful and Lucy shakes her head at me.
"Well, if you don't mind being embarrassed by little ole me," she replies, batting her eyes at me, trying to look innocent. And I know she is anything, but. I lick my lips and bite the inside of my bottom lip and shake my own head at her.
Lucy's eyes drop down to my mouth when I do this and she licks her own lips before looking back up into my eyes. My groin becomes painfully hard with her look, but I do a good job of masking my emotions.
What I do instead, is lean forward to hover over Lucy and I can visibly see her swallow hard at my proximity. I smirk, inching my face closer to hers, "it takes a lot to embarrass me, baby girl. So give it your best shot," I retort with a wink before I reclaim my spot.
I don't delve too much into her reaction to what I just did, nor do I acknowledge the fact that I notice she is trying to regulate her breathing by my teasing. But deep down, my ego is boasting knowing I have some sort of affect on her.
Lucy smirks herself and shakes her head at me, "oh, you can bet I will; you don't know how good I am at this game. I will embarrass the hell out of you," she replies and takes the cards to shuffle them. Never taking her eyes off me.
We go back and forth with wins and losses. I hate to admit that most of the wins were in fact by Lucy. But her constant teasing towards me didn't help my case in the slightest. It took a lot of self control to not act the way I wanted to.
A short while later, I can see Lucy's eyes grow heavy as she fights to keep them open and stay awake. It's also hindering her ability to keep our game playing alive. I grin over at Lucy and lay my hand out, revealing to her that I won.
"Rummy, baby girl," I say and her eyes widen fractionally, but exhaustion still swims in her eyes.
Lucy whines at her loss, "nooo, you cheated," she protests and shoves me, but I hardly budge. Not only because I'm strong, but her shove was weak.
I chuckle at Lucy's blatant disappointment at her loss and catch her as she falls into me. "Alright, I think we're done here. You're about to pass out on me and you're clearly not in your right frame of mind," I say, amusement coating my tone and I shift mine and her positions.
"No, I'm not tired," Lucy says and rests her head on my shoulder, her body becoming heavy as she relaxes into me. I suppress the urge to laugh loudly and my frame shakes from my silent chuckle.
"Yeah, okay. You keep telling yourself that," I reply and get to my knees before scooping Lucy up into my arms. She immediately wraps her arms around my neck and cuddles in closer to my warmth. I just wish I could appreciate this moment more because I know the moment I bring her back to hers and Drew's chambers, this moment between us will be broken and Lucy will go back to just treating me like her best friend. And I say that because even though it was minimal, something there did happen between us. I felt it and I know Lucy felt it, too.
"Randy," Lucy says quietly and burrows deeper into me with a small sigh.
"What is it, baby girl?" I ask her quietly in kind as I leave the confines of the library. It's getting late into the evening so most of the castle has retired for the night, so no prying eyes will be there to start rumors about what they see transpiring between myself and their queen. "Lucy?" I add, when she doesn't respond to me and I look down at her serene face to find her fast asleep in my arms.
My heart literally stops then stutters in my chest when I realize that she is dreaming about me. A smile grows on my face, but I keep it short lived when Drew walks around the corner with a determined look on his face, but it disappears the moment his eyes land on me with his wife in his arms. His eyes grow hard as he takes in the sight before him.
"What's going on? Why are you carrying Lucy? Is she okay?" Drew fires off back to back questions at me and I roll my eyes at him.
"She's fine, Drew. We were playing cards for a couple of hours after you disappeared on her and she fell asleep. I was going to bring her back to your chambers, but now that you're here, I guess I don't have to," I retort and go to hand Lucy over to Drew, but I feel her tighten her hold on my neck.
I grunt at the action and Drew's face contorts into one of something unpleasant at seeing his wife tighten her hold on another man other than himself. "Lucy, sweetheart; I'm going to hand you over to Drew, now," I whisper to her, all the while keeping my eyes on Drew. The hard look in his never leave as he watches me like a hawk.
Lucy groans quietly and shift, nodding her head subtly, letting me know she heard me. She turns her head in Drew's direction and a smile is directed at her, replacing the scowl that was present moments ago.
Drew steps closer once more and holds his arms out, allowing me to easily transfer Lucy from my arms to his. Lucy releases her hold on my neck and finds their new home around Drew's neck.
"Thank you for staying with her and keeping her safe," Drew tells me and I can see the sincerity in his eyes.
Nodding my head in response, I reply, "it was no problem. Other than you, she's my family; I enjoy spending time with her. But, I'm heading to bed, now that I know she's safe with you. Goodnight, brother," I tell Drew, clapping a hand on his shoulder before turning my attention to the woman in his arms. "Goodnight, baby girl," I whisper to her and press a kiss to the top of her head, not caring if Drew likes my pet name or display of affection to her or not. Lucy is special to me and he knows she is. I think that's why he doesn't say anything about it.
Drew POV
"Yeah, goodnight man. I'll see you in the morning," I grunt at Randy, not liking the extra attention he's been giving to Lucy lately. Not to mention his new little pet name for her, but I choose to ignore it…for now…because I know how close they have gotten in the months Lucy has come into our lives.
