An: NymhadoraTonks: You're too good at predictions! You're pretty much spot on, but there are some details you won't see coming yet. Yes, Evertt figured it out, but he hasn't really come to terms with it quite yet. It hasn't truly sunk in, because he hasn't realized his own true feelings yet. I think it's funny that now (in this new reality) Lorelai is the one who doesn't have feelings. (Yet ;))

Leverett is cute, but what about Loverett? I think it's cute cause it's got lover and love in it, but maybe it's too cheesy. What do you think?

Thank You!

Everett opened the door quietly. He looked around for any signs of life. The house appeared empty. He waved Lorelai to follow. "Why all this sneaking around?" she asked. He suddenly stopped when he heard a creak. She bumped into him.

"Because I might have told my parents I was staying at Noah's house," Everett whispered. "Stay close." Lorelai raised a brow but grabbed the wrist of his shirt sleeve. Together they crept through the house. Everett let himself breathe when they reached the top of the stairs. But that was when a door suddenly opened. Charlotte came out of the room quickly when she saw Everett.

"Conroy!" Charlotte exclaimed. She automatically smoothed her skirt, but she wasn't wearing a dress today. She was wearing overalls.

"What are you wearing?" Everett raised a brow.

"Oh," Charlotte just seemed to notice her appearance. "All of my dresses need to be cleaned. I just threw this on." She then eyed Lorelai. "Why are you two sneaking around?" That was when he noticed her looking down at Lorelai's hand. She let go of his sleeve immediately.

"Nothing," Everett said calmly. He and Lorelai exchanged nervous glances.

Charlotte crossed her arms and raised a brow. For a second, Everett thought she was the real Charlotte. "Mhmm. Obviously, you don't want anyone to see you and your girlfriend. Interesting..."

"Don't tell Ja—" Everett coughed to cover his mistake. "Mom. Don't tell mom." He was disgusted to call her that.

"It would be a shame if she did," Lorelai hugged Everett's arm. Everett could feel his body tense, and his heart becoming fast. What was happening? "I would hate for your mother to find out about your secrets. I'm afraid we would be forced apart."

There was something in her voice that made Everett think she wasn't talking to him. Charlotte swallowed nervously.

"You wouldn't want that to happen, would you Charlotte?" Lorelai tilted her head to lay it on Everett's shoulder.

There was a slight hesitation within Charlotte, then she shook her head. She rubbed her arm out of habit. Everett had watched her do that often. Carlos did the same thing. Except his bruises were actually visible. "No. I won't tell mom."

"Thank you," Lorelai grinned. Charlotte glanced at both of them before she ran down the stairs. Lorelai let go of Everett's arm instantly. He could still feel the warmth of her cheek as they walked to his room.

"What was that?" Everett asked as he opened the door.

"She hangs out with Maxwell in secret," Lorelai explained. "Ever since he discovered his magic she's the only one who's stayed by his side. She's the only friend he's got. Besides, I think she's more herself when she comes over to the castle."

Everett knew Charlotte couldn't be the pretty princess she presented herself to be. It gave him a shred of hope.

"In the real world," Everett began but stopped at the sight of Lorelai's face. "My world, I mean. Charlotte always wears those overalls. She has her own workshop and everything. She's an inventor and a tinker, like my dad."

"Where is your dad, anyway?"

"I don't know," Everett admitted. "He always seems to disappear in the afternoon when Jane is gone."

"Strange," Lorelai added. "I almost never see him at the castle. Mom claims they're great friends. But then Dad also claims that he was an only child." A tinge of sadness crossed her face, and it made Everett feel his own guilt.

"Which brings me to this," Everett took a deep breath before he opened the closet doors. The rose was still there, levitating. Lorelai gasped at the sight.

"It's like the one from the memory," Lorelai reached out to it. Everett didn't know what he expected to happen when she touched the pink petals, but he didn't expect her to fall back.

"Woah!" Everett kneeled down to where she sat. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I...heard something," Lorelai narrowed her eyes at the flower. "Like some kind of spell or incantation. Who is the beast?"

"I'm not sure," Everett admitted. He then remembered the roar he heard before the spell was complete. "I found it in the woods years ago. A woman was sobbing, then she turned into a bear and ran away."

"The Rose Beast," Lorelai gasped again. "Are you suggesting my Aunt Rose is the one behind this?"

"There's no other explanation," Everett reasoned. " If we could find her, she could be able to reverse the spell." He grabbed the rose by the stem. It came willingly. He put it in the backpack he came with. It had his sketching stuff and some extra clothes.

"Wait," Lorelai stood up as Everett continued to pack things. "Are you seriously thinking of finding my long-lost psychopath of a relative? You have to remember she is a bear."

"No, she isn't," Everett shook her head. "In my world, she ran away to a kingdom. I can't remember the name, but she lived in the Evil Queen's abandoned castle for years before she possessed Evie and creating a whole army against Auradon."

"And you want to find her? Conroy—" She seemed to realize her mistake instantly and stopped.

"I'm Everett," he grabbed her by the shoulders gently. "I'm not from here, nor am I supposed to be here. I want to go home, where everything is at least a little better than things are here."

"Why are you here?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out."

"No," Lorelai shook her head. "Why didn't you try to find me sooner? Why wait almost a week before suddenly deciding to go on a quest to get back home."

"Because I thought this change would be better for me," Everett admitted. "But now, I'm not so sure."

"What is your real-life like? What was so wrong with it that you didn't want to go back instantly?"

He wanted to tell her the truth of what reality could've been if Carlos chose Evie. But when he looked into her eyes, he couldn't do it. He couldn't tell her that he wasn't the star of the tourney team, or that they were worse outcasts, or that he was just a plain loser in reality. He just couldn't admit it to her. Everett couldn't bear her to think of him like that right now.

"I don't have time for that," Everett let go of her shoulders. "I'm going to find Rose with or without you."

"How are you going to get to this town?" Lorelai asked, folding her arms. "What is it called?"

The town. What was it called? Something like a flower. Daffodil? Daphne? Daisy?

"I don't know," Everett tried to recall his parents' story. They had told him a million times. Why couldn't he recall? What strange power did this spell have on his memory? "Daffodil or some kind of flower or plant that starts with a d. Daisy or..."

"Dandelion?" Lorelai suggested.

"Yes! Let's go!" Everett clapped his hands together before throwing his bag over his shoulder. He walked out of the room. Lorelai stopped following at the top of the stairs. Everett was about to call up to her when he heard his dad.

"Conroy," Carlos called as he closed a door swiftly. Everett didn't know where it led to. The basement perhaps? "Who are you talking to?"

"Hi, Dad," Everett glanced up once at Lorelai before moving towards Carlos. "I was just talking to Noah on the phone. He wants me to stay over tonight. Is that okay?"

"Oh," Carlos grinned. "Yeah, son. It's cool. I'll tell your mom."

"Thanks, Dad," Everett flashed him a smile before leaving the house. As soon as he stepped out of the house, he ran below his window. There, Lorelai was staring at him.

"Your dad won't leave the living room," Lorelai called down. "Can't you distract him?"

"What?" Everett didn't think that was such a good idea. "He would be suspicious and he thinks I'm already weird enough in this twisted tale. Just use magic."

"Are you insane?!" Lorelai yelled in a whisper. "I can't use magic. People could see. Even if I could, I don't know anything about it."

"Ugh," Everett ran his fingers through his brown hair angrily. "You're going to have to jump."

"What?!" Lorelai said in her loud voice. Everett put a finger to his lips, hoping that his father couldn't hear her. "And I'm supposed to just fall into the rose bushes?"

"No. I'll catch you."

Lorelai started to laugh. It was a sweet sound Everett didn't realize how much he missed until now. Even if it was supposed to be an insult, a grin tugged at his lips. "I'm sorry," Lorelai collected herself. "I just don't think today is the right day to practice trust falls."

"Just do it," Everett commanded.

"I can hear your dad coming upstairs!" Lorelai said quickly as she crawled out the window and sat on the edge of the small roof outside of his room. She looked down at the ground and swallowed nervously. Everett positioned himself under where she would land.

"What's the delay?" Everett asked. She wasn't staring down at him anymore, but up at the greying sky.

"Uh..." Lorelai snapped her attention back down at Everett. She took a deep breath before pushing herself off of the second story. It wasn't much of a fall, but Everett tried his best to balance her weight. They both fell back into the bushes, Lorelai landing on top of Everett. She was about to push herself off of him, but he pulled her under him.

"Charlotte? Conroy?" Carlos called out the open window. They stayed silently hidden in the bushes. After a moment, Carlos shut the open window. Everett let out the breath he had been holding and looked down into Lorelai's eyes. Their faces were inches apart. His heart began to beat faster once again. What was happening to him? This had never happened with Lorelai before.

"Get off," Lorelai freed one of her wrists and pushed him away.

"Sorry," Everett stood up. He held out a hand to her, but she was busy fixing her hair. Everett's attention was attracted to a single purple strand that was sticking out just above her ear. She ran her fingers through her hair, and let the brown curls free from the braid she had her hair in seconds ago. The purple strand was gone. Perhaps Everett had imagined it.

Lorelai refused Evertt's hand and stood up by herself. "So, now what?" she asked.

"I'm going to Dandelion."

"What?"

"What else did you expect me to do?"

"Wait till tomorrow," Lorelai followed him as he walked on the main road. She then said nervously, "There's a storm coming. At least wait."

"It won't rain for a few hours," Everett continued walking. "I don't mind. The woods should block out most of it anyway."

"You've been in the woods?"

"Of course," Everett raised a brow. "Haven't you?"

"No, it's forbidden."

"Why?"

"The Rose Beast ring a bell?"

"She won't hurt me."

"She very well could. You don't know what else is in that woods. Uma is still on the loose."

"I'm going," Everett said finally. "Whether you like it or not. She is my only hope. If you're coming, great. If you aren't, maybe I'll see you in a different reality." He kept walking after Lorelai stopped. He knew what he needed to do to get this spell reversed. He didn't need this Lorelai. She wasn't anything like her real self. Sure she was just as pretty, witty, and had the same great laugh as the real Lorelai, but she obviously didn't trust him, and he didn't have time to build a whole new friendship.

He would get back to the Lorelai he knew best soon enough.

"Leave me alone, Lori!" Everett snapped. "You don't have to protect me. You're not my girlfriend."

Or maybe it would be a while until he and the real Lorelai would be on good terms.

"Everett, wait!" the alternate Lorelai called. Everett stopped walking at the sound of her voice. Relief washed over him as she caught up to him. "I'll help you," she said between breaths. "I want to see if Rose really exists. But, we can't walk."

"I don't have a car."

Lorelai grinned. "I have something better."

The two rode on matching bikes through the woods. Lorelai stated that they were presents for her and Maxwell when they turned sixteen. No one would notice that they were missing. Everett loved the feeling of the wind running through his hair. Some memories of his younger self running through the woods flickered into his mind.

The trails they rode on were very old. They looked as if they hadn't been walked on in over twenty years. There were plenty of weeds growing around. Everett was glad they had taken the bikes. Lorelai seemed to enjoy it too. Judging by her whooping. He watched her drift around a few trees. She looked over her shoulder as if challenging him.

Everett had driven motorbikes like these many times before, so he drifted with ease. He wobbled a bit when he hit a larger rock. Lorelai laughed when he almost lost control. Grinning, the boy twisted the throttle and caught up with her. She was the one with the map taped to her dash. He looked at the path they highlighted and began to take the lead.

As they got nearer to Dandelion, the trees began to thin. Everett could see the grey clouds hovering above. Lorelai was right. A storm was coming, but hopefully, they would find a place to stay before it hit. He hadn't really thought about staying anywhere. But there had to be a place somewhere in the little village. Everett kept his mind away from imagining sharing a room with Lorelai.

Everett slowed to a stop when he saw the large gate. Lorelai stopped not far from him. "Are you sure about this?"

"Yeah," Everett nodded before he pushed the gate open. They wheeled their bikes in, only to find ten guards pointing spears at them. Both kids put of their hands, letting their motorbikes fall to the ground. "We mean no harm!" Everett declared.

"State your business!" a guard commanded. They were beginning to close in on them. Everett didn't know what to say. He didn't expect any guards to be around the town.

"I-I uh—"

"He is with me," Lorelai proclaimed.

"And who are you?" a guard asked with a raised brow.

"Princess Lorelai Rose of Auradon." There was a gasp among the men. Lorelai took a step forward. "This is not the welcome I expected when and my...squire arrived to check on things."

"We're so sorry, your highness," the commander stepped forward and bowed.

"Actually, this ambush was a good thing, because my father, the King of Auradon sent me here to do a security check." Lorelai lied. Evertt was surprised by her quick tongue. "If you do not mind, my squire and I shall walk through town, unescorted, and continue to our accommodations set up not far from here. We shall leave in the morning."

"If you wish princess," the commander said quickly.

"I do wish," Lorelai finished speaking. "Now, please carry on with your duties." All of the guards and Everett exchanged glances before going back to their posts. Lorelai cleared her throat and pick up her bike with grace. "Squire, pick up your bike so we can take out leave from here."

"Yes, your majesty," Everett grinned before he picked up his bike. He didn't speak again until they were farther into town. "How did you come up with that?"

"Was it convincing?"

"Are you kidding?" Everett asked before chuckling. "You were amazing! I've never heard you speak so proper before."

"I've never had to," Lorelai giggled. "I've never done any public speaking like that before. I felt like a whole different person, but I liked it."

Everett watched her as she grew silent and grinned to herself. She was more like her old self than Everett had originally thought. The Lori he knew was always a quick thinker and didn't mind speaking her mind. The real Lorelai was there, Everett just had to bring her out of her shell. "How far to the castle?" Lorelai asked, bringing Everett away from his thoughts.

"I think it was in the farthest place of the village, and hidden away," Everett remarked. "Ever since Snow White was married, there hadn't been a ruler. I suppose everyone just forgot about the abandoned castle once Auradon had been established."

"Makes sense," Lorelai agreed. "What was once kingdoms are now more like big cities, Auradon being the capital. I wonder if joining the kingdoms was a really good thing, considering the outcome of my aunt. How did you know about her, anyway?"

"Because she's the reason my parents fell in love." Everett grimaced at the thought of his mother. He wondered where she was. He wanted to know if she was okay. Carlos said she had betrayed them, but what had she done?

"There it is," Lorelai cut off his thoughts. Everett turned up his gaze to see the very tip of the castle. They both hopped back on their bikes and rode until they found the dark stone castle.

The clouds were becoming darker by the minute. They pulled up to the front doors. They looked like they hadn't been touched in years. Turning off his bike, Everett could feel a small raindrop fall onto his face. He wanted to throw open the doors, but judging by the state of the castle, how could he be sure Rose lived here? Lorelai was soon behind him.

"Can we get inside? The s-storms coming in fast," she said with a nervous tone. He figured she would be scared once they got there. He faced the door and knocked, but there was no answer.

Instead, the door creaked open at his touch. Everett let the door swing open. Lorelai was close behind him as they walked into a dark empty tunnel. There was a distant echo of thunder brewing outside. Lorelai gasped and grabbed Everett's arm. He didn't think much of it until it became louder. She grabbed his hand so suddenly, her fingers interlaced his own before his heart could skip a beat.

"Are you okay?" Everett whispered.

"Yeah," Lorelai said in the softest of voices. "It would be easier to keep track of you if it wasn't so dark.

"That can be arranged," a different female voice echoed. Both teenagers gasped as the tunnel filled with pink light. The torches were lit with pink fire. Everett squeezed Lorelai's hand as he searched for the voice owner, but not a soul was to be found.

"I think we need to keep going," Everett suggested.

"Are you—" Lorelaiu was cut off by thunder above. "You're right, let's keep going."

They moved forward until they came into a room with a tall throne and a queen's crown resting on a padded pedestal. "Hello?" Everett's voice echoed in the hall. There wasn't a distinct voice, just surrounding laughter.

Back to back, Everett and Lorelai searched the room for her. Everett was about to face Lorelai again when he saw a middle-aged woman with long brown hair and a malicious grin. "Hello there." Both suddenly gasped.

"Rose?" Everett asked. The woman seemed shocked to hear her own name. She nodded. The lost princess was really before them. The feared Rose Beast was here, hiding away from the rest of the world. Everett knew she wouldn't hurt them.

"Y-you're Rose?" Lorelai asked, her breath quickening.

"Yes, child," Rose said sternly. "Didn't you see me nod?"

"You-you're m-my," Lorelai's voice faded, "aunt." She then fell back. Everett quickly caught her.

"What?" Rose's voice was sharp.

Everett laid Lorelai down on the floor. She was coming back to consciousness. Everett looked up at Rose. "Sorry, we didn't introduce ourselves. I'm Everett De Vil. This is Princess Lorelai Rose Beast."

"Ben had a little girl?"

"And two boys," Lorelai said under her breath as she put a hand to her head. She sat up. Rose kneeled down and looked into Lorelai's dazed eyes.

"She's got his eyes," Rose gasped. "Has it really been that long?"

"It's been almost twenty-four years since your disappearance," Everett told her.

"The whole Kingdom forgot about me, how did two teenagers find me here?" Rose stood back up and turned from them. Everett wondered if he should answer, but he didn't want to overwhelm her.

"Because I remember you," Everett stood, helping Lorelai back up to her feet. "This might sound crazy, but I'm not from here."

"Well, with a name like De Vil, you obviously don't come from Auradon."

"No, I'm not supposed to be here," Everett explained. "In the world I live in, the barrier of the Isle was brought down because you saved the whole world."

"Me?"

"Yes," Everett insisted. "My parents told me many stories about you. You ran away, then tried to get your revenge against your parents. You failed, but it all turned out good because you turned into a good guy and beat Audrey when she was trying to take over the world."

It was a bad explanation, and he knew it. Rose raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you didn't hit your head on the way in?"

"What I'm trying to say is I need your help."

"I'm going to stop you right there," Rose held up a hand. "I don't help people. Last time I did that, I was branded a monster."

"But you don't understand, your magic—"

"Yes, my magic is dangerous," Rose cut him off. "I'm not afraid to use it on pesky little kids like you who've obviously taken some illegal substances. I mean me, a hero? Please leave before I laugh too hard and lose control."

"What about my father?" Lorelai asked. "I know from the look on your face you still care about him. Won't you help his daughter?"

"Don't you tell me what I care about, child!" Rose snapped. "Leave now, or I'll cast forgetful spells."

They were about to leave, but then Everett remembered the rose. He reached into his pack. Lorelai was tugging on his arm. "Come on. Let's go!" Rose was raising her hand, saying a spell under her breath.

"Wait!" Everett suddenly held up the glowing rose. A petal fell down to the ground as it levitated in the air. That made two petals down. Rose stopped speaking and lowered her hand, her eyes wide.

"Where did you get that?"

"Do you recognize it?"

"Of course," Rose stepped forward. "It's an enchanted rose. Like my father's. Like the one, I drained my magic from before I left."

"I found this one in the woods, and it brought me here," Everett explained.

"Touch it," Lorelai commanded. "You can hear the spell."

Rose's hand reached out and gently touched the rose. She stayed still for a moment, listening. She then jerked her hand back. "My voice. Why is my voice in there?"

"Because it's your rose," Everett realized. "You were the one I saw in the woods that night. You transformed into a bear and ran away. I had taken a petal from the rose as if destroyed itself. Only did I discover there was still magic in it when I returned to the sight. Now, everything is completely different from the world that I know."

"An alternate reality," Rose looked at the flower. "I didn't know it was even possible. What changed?"

"Everything," Everett said simply.

"Well, that narrows the cause down," Rose rolled her eyes. Everett felt sudden guilt as he recalled the wish he made against his mother.

"Can you reverse it?"

"I can try, but I need to do some research. Come back tomorrow. That should give me enough time."

"Uh..." Everett eyed Lorelai, she was just staring at Rose. "Could we possibly stay here tonight? Auradon is about an hour ride in good weather through the woods."

"Very well." Rose eyed the two, "Two rooms or...one?"

Everett's cheeks became red. "Tw—" A crack of loud thunder boomed outside.

"One," Lorelai said before Evertt could repeat his answer. Rose raised her brows. Everett exchanged glances with Lorelai, then looked down, his cheeks turning a bright red.
