"..Let go. I said…"

Cole pushed her way into the room then, followed by her younger sister.

"She said let go." Leila snapped.

Leila and Cole held Cora's gaze unwavering. Leila's harsh tone caused Cora's arm to drop away for Lydia quickly, as she and Cole looked on tensely at the pair.

The divide between them and Derek had left Cora in a strange place. This had continued to be tense when Derek returned. Cora seemed to put a lot of faith in red eyes. They supposed it was hard for her to understand all the difficulty they'd had in coming back, mostly from Derek. Of course, Peter had his hand in it as well. Perhaps when they could share with her Peter was an alpha too, she'd see things differently.

For now, they kept it quiet. Surprise was their best weapon, and so Cora remained at odds with them, evident by the glare on her face. Her response to them came through gritted teeth.

"She's fucking the enemy."

Leila looked over at Cole as she seemed to almost laugh. Lei returned her gaze forward with a less amused look of her own.

"If we weren't in a time crunch with Deaton and all, I still wouldn't have time to list all the reasons that isn't an issue. Mostly it's that it isn't your problem." Cole bit.

"She's right, Cora. Derek has no right to be calling shots, not with how it's gone for him." Lei threw in, her arms crossing over her chest.

It was almost comical how Scott, followed by Stiles, came stumbling into the room, a box in hand.

"I thought you two we're at the station?"

Cole regarded them with confusion, unable to see what the flat rectangular box they held was.

"A ouija board?" Leila's voice cut in, incredulously, looking at Stiles with raised brows. Cole scoffed with an amused grin.

" Also called a spirit board, and it's worth a shot." Stiles bit back.

"Mara told us to come help you." Scott added.

"A shot in the dark." Cole heard Lydia mutter from the other side of the room.

"Could you just try it, please, okay? Let's not forget who this is for... Scott's boss, the guy who has saved our collective asses on more than one occasion."

They all looked on at him sceptically. Cole was the first to shrug her shoulders and drop her bag. She made her way to where Stiles had begun to set up the board on a lab bench. Her sister followed her, bearing a look of annoyance.

" Oh, should we all do this?" Cora asked, slowly approaching, watching the board with a distrusting expression. Stiles looked at the board and back to the group surrounding him.

"Yeah. Are you guys ready?"

They all muttered varied levels of agreeances, before placing the tips of their index fingers on the cool planchette atop the board.

"Where's Dr. Deaton?"

They all sat silently for a few moments. There was no movement anywhere. Cole wasn't quite sure what they were expecting. This was a board game from walmart. Stiles seemed to be staring intently at Lydia who stared back in confusion.

"What?"

"Aren't you gonna answer it?" STiles asked, looking expectantly down at her. SHe shrugged her shoulders.

"Oh, I don't know the answer. I thought we were asking some sort of spirit."

Cora's completely deadpan tone, much like her brothers was heard next.

"Well, do you know any spirits?"

Lydia looked at her wildly, head tilted in confusion, before turning to face her cousins.

"Is she for real?"

Cora barked a laugh in response.

"We dont have time for this." Leila cut in, catching everyone's attention.

"She's right. What else have you all got?"

Stiles looked at Cole blankly for a moment, before begging to pat himself down in search of something. Finally he heard the jingle of what he was looking for. tHey watched him reach into his jacket and pull out a medium sized ring of keys. Not huge like a janitors, but it clearly held more than house keys. He approached Lydia with them.

"Okay, these are Deaton's keys for the clinic. Close your eyes, and I'm gonna put 'em in your hand, and then we're just gonna try and see if you can feel out for his location. It's called psychometry."

"I'm not a psychic." Lydia stated plainly.

"You're something! Okay? Just, Lydia, put out your hand, and... " He spazzed as Lydia gave into his instructions, her hand coming up. She hummed lightly, her closed eyes scrunching.

"What?" Stiles jumped. She opened her eyes with a tilt of her head.

"They're cold."

Stiles let out a loud sigh of exasperation.

"Lydia, concentrate, please? Trying to save lives here, for the love of God."

Stiles was beginning to grow frantic. The pressure was getting to him as well. Cole took a step closer to him, putting a hand on his shoulder. He turned to look at her with frustration in his eyes.

"Let us try, okay?"

Stiles seemed to soften a bit. The calming tone of her voice was so unusual for her, but he couldn't help but listen. He stepped back, letting Leila come up to Lydia. She passed her a notebook and pencil, much to Lydia's confusion.

" Automatic writing." Leila explained, looking very confident. Lydia looked at her with doubt. Stiles seemed to perk up at the idea.

"Trust me. It will work." Leila assured.

Lydia shrugged, resigning herself to opening the book.

She began to do something on the page, the sounds of her pencil scratching echoing through the silent room. They all looked on intently. Stiles began to edge towards her, and peer over her shoulder.

"Lydia, what are you doing? What... what the hell is that?"

Stiles sounded entirely unamused and disappointed.

"A tree." She answered blankly, the end of the pencil coming to rest on her lips, as she examined her work. Stiles began to spaz again. Out of curiosity, Leila took the notebook from her to see. SHe ripped the page out, having a feeling it wasn't meaningless.

"A tr.. Lydia, you're supposed to be writing words, like in sentences, something like a location, something that would tell us where Deaton is."

"Well, maybe you should've said that." She bit back, scowling at his tone.

"Isn't she supposed to be some kind of genius?" Cora cut in, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Genius? Yes. Psychic, no. Honestly, I don't know why you're even bothering with me anyway. I mean, especially since it's obvious you should be talking to Danny." Lydia snapped back. The end of her sentence caught everyone's attention.

"What? Why Danny?" Stiles sputtered, looking at her clueless. Leila answered for her.

"Because... Last night, he was a target. But it wasn't a sacrifice. He must know something."

They all looked between each other. Everyone racked their brains. What could Danny know that they didn't? Maybe it had to do with the twins?

"Is Danny still in the hospital?" Cole asked, looking at the boys.

"Yeah. We should head over there. Now."

When Stiles said that, he began to make his way towards the door, followed by Scott immediately. Lydia and Cora followed them out suite, and Cole went to, before noticing Leila hadn't moved. When Cole turned back to face her, she was looking down at her phone.

"Allison found something." She said quietly, not looking up from the screen. Cole looked at her curiously.

"I can go if you want." She offered. Leila gave a big sigh and finally raised her head.

"No, I should. I can meet you at the hospital after."

Cole nodded, and gave her sister a reassuring smile.

"Ill text you if we move, let me know what she's got."

"I didn't know if I should text you or not. It's just kinda hard to text anyone and not get Scott."

"Don't worry about it. You're better off texting me and Cole about this stuff anyways."

Leila's reply was a bit absentminded as she entered the small apartment, looking around at the simple decor. The whole place felt a bit... cold.

Being in Allison's house was weird enough. Let alone being under the alpha den. Mara would kill her if she knew. In any case, Leila continued to follow the other girl inside. She took a little comfort in knowing Allison was just as uncomfortable as her, if her heartbeat meant anything. They were both on edge with the situation, which meant the information had to be worth it.

She followed the girl to the back of the apartment, to a fair sized office. Trinkets bareing many familiar sigils lined the shelves much like their basement, neatly stacked with the books. Leila continued with Allison over to the glass desk by the towering window. The girl motioned down at an old fashion map Lei recognized as Beacon Hills.

"See this map? Last time we were in here talking, my dad put a book over it. There was something about way he did it. It was like... it was like he was trying to cover it."

Leila examined the map as she listened to Allison. Nothing jumped out at her. It was completely plain, only the dark etches showing elevation on the beige parchment. To a normal person it would look like an abstract piece of art.

She watched as Allison slid the drawer closest to her open, pulling a light from it. Leila watched curiously as she held it out over the map. When she flicked it on, to Leila's surprise, markings began to appear.

"He's been tracking and following everything."

Leila's voice came out low. She looked on, identifying each place they had been, and noticing the presence of several more. She looked up at Allison, who seemed to share her sense of distrust. Although the map might help them, it was unsettling to know her father had been following them the entire time.

"Cora and Boyd at the bank, the office in the penthouse above us, all of the dead bodies. He has a symbol for where someone was taken, and then a different mark for where the bodies are found, see?"

Leila nodded in agreement, looking back down as Allison pointed the places out. She traced her finger along the different symbols, their placement feeling vaguely familiar. Leila pointed to the remaining spots.

" So one of these six locations, one of these, is where Deaton could end up."

Allison nodded.

"I mean, it doesn't tell us where he's being kept right now, but…"

She trailed off as she continued to stare down at the map.

"it's close to figuring it out."

Allison looked up to find Leila fixing her with a small grin. She had after all narrowed it down significantly for them.

"Yeah." Allsion replied, returning the look of success.

The brief moment wouldn't last, as the sharp ding of the elevator reaching the floor they stood on rang in Leila's ears. Her eyes narrowed, and both their grins dropped.

"Your dad is home."

Leila could hear the elevator door closing behind him, as he began walking down the hall. Allison was up immediately, throwing the light back in the drawer, not before Lei snapped a picture.

They both shuffled out of the room, closing the door softly as possible. They could hear him slam the front door closed as they tried to make it to Allisons room. Allison had just cracked the door, when her father came around the corner

"Hey. I didn't know you were home."

His tone was casual and relaxed. It was so different from the stern attitude she'd experienced before. With their backs turned to him, he couldn't tell who his daughter had brought home. Allison answered as it felt like a question.

"Yeah, I was just doing some homework."

Allison turned to face her father, fixing him with a pleasant smile. If Leila didn't know better, she might think Allison enjoyed this. Leila decided she might as well enjoy it. In a swift motion, she turned to face Allison with her father. She revelled in the way his face dropped, before jumping to its emotionless mask.

Allison didn't wait for a response, not sure if he would be able to even formulate one. She entered her room, and Leila followed suite, letting the door click shut behind her.

Almost as soon as the door closed, Leila felt her phone vibrate against her chest. She pulled it from her pocket, moving father into the room. Allison followed closely, and they both took a seat on the bed. Leila threw it on speakerphone, placing it between them.

"It's me and Allison."

It was Cole who answered her, far enough from the phone she could assume they had it on speaker as well.

"We figured out what Danny knew. He was studying the flow of power through Beacon. Tec… Tell.."

Leila's eyes narrowed knowingly. She spoke with sureness in her tone.

"Telluric Currents."

"How did you…?"

Cole was largely confused, but Leila did a lot of reading in her down time. Very old books. Many about the supernatural. They were mostly written in riddles, but she was beginning to understand.

"Just send Allison a picture of the map. There must be one."

They could sense the urgency in her voice. Cole was silent as she went to work, only the sound of flipping pages. She heard Stiles cut into the silence suddenly.

"There's a note from Harris on Danny's proposal. "I strongly advise you to choose another subject. The ideas here, while innovative and thoughtful, border on pseudo-science. Not suitable for class."

Though it wasn't phrased as a question, Leila could tell Stiles was trying to catch up with her. She spoke, confirming his insinuation.

"Harris wasn't just a sacrifice. He knew something."

Leila was now looking at the map Danny had made, so similar to the one in the books. The yellow currents flowed parallel along the town, while the blue came down across, creating intersections. She pulled up the other map on her own phone, matching the marked spots to the intersections in the energy flow. She began to speak as she drew on Danny's map.

"Danny was doing a project on geomagnetic fields. They flow through the earth. They can even be affected by lunar phases, all right? Now, look at this."

Leila sent the edited version of the map back to them, turning her full focus to the conversation.

"Danny marked all the telluric currents, okay? The weird thing about beacon hills is that it actually is a beacon. You wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the earth is around this town. Allison's dad was marking the bodies, where they were taken, where they were found. They all fall on intersecting energy points."

They were silent on the other end as she spoke, processing carefully. It was Lydia who spoke first this time.

"So Deaton is…. Here."

Leila imagined she was tracing along the map as they watched. Her sister's voice came next.

"Lei, where is this?"

"Back in the vault."
