Author's Note: Sorry this took a while. Been trying to come up with what to do in the future. My biggest problem is deciding which episodes in the show are fillers or not. Right now, I'm still undecided. If anyone can help me decide, that'd be great.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter. Any and all comments are welcome.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Anne screamed as she ran around. "WHAT'S HAPPENING?! WHERE ARE WE?! HOW DID WE GET HERE?!"

T'Challa sighed as he was examining the music box with the frog image on it. "Well, I can't answer the first two questions, but as for how we got here, I'm guessing it has something to do with this music box."

"But how?" Anne asked. "That's just some box I got from a local pawn shop."

"I admit, this is very strange." T'Challa answered. He opened the box, but it was bone-dry empty. "Well, whatever this is, it can't flash again."

"So we're stuck here, in the middle of the jungle?" Anne asked.

"Of course not." T'Challa said. "We just need to keep walking until we find a way out of this jungle. Every direction leads somewhere."

"But we don't know what's out there." Anne said.

"Well, we already know what's right here. Nothing." T'Challa said pointing at the very ground where the two of them stood. "And if we stay here, we'll just be open lunch for any wild animal that comes after us."

Anne sighed in agreement. "All right. Let's go."

After an hour of walking, Anne was nearly out of breath. She stopped taking her steps and sat down at the nearest log.

"We've been walking forever." Anne said. "I'm starting to think we're just going in circles. You sure you know where we're going?"

"Anne, I'm not sure of anything anymore." T'Challa said. "One minute, we're hanging around in a park in the middle of Los Angeles, and the next thing I know, we're in a strange jungle."

Anne groaned. "Boy, I sure wish we had some grub."

Suddenly, the trees behind the two collapsed to the ground. They were both taken aback by the beast that did it, a mantis-like animal of enormous size.

"THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!"

"RUN, ANNE!" T'Challa shouted.

The two quickly bolted through the forest avoiding the insect monster that chased after them. There were some narrow misses, but they still kept up their momentum.

Suddenly, the ground they ran on gave in to their combined weight and both humans fell down a pit that reached deep down into a pile of dirt. The mantis monster stopped chasing and roared once more before walking off.

Down at the bottom of the chasm, Anne spit out a couple of bugs the accidently swallowed when she hit the ground.

"Ugh! I hope I never have to eat another bug for as long as I live."

"That aside, we've got a bigger problem." T'Challa said as he observed the side of the wall. "I don't think we can climb this back to the surface."

"Let me see." Anne said. She squinted her eyes at the wall and brushed her finger on it. "Nope. You're right. You'd have to be like a cat to climb up there."

Hearing that made T'Challa widen his eyes as an idea popped in his head. He put on a nervous look as he reached into his pocket. He pulled out a heart shaped, purple leaf that was preserved in a clear box.

"What's that, T'Challa?" Anne asked.

"Something Shuri told me to save for a rainy day." T'Challa grabbed a rock and began grinding on the leaf. "Now, Anne, I want you do to something for me. It may sound ridiculous, but it's important."

"Oh, you don't have to worry. I'm all about the crazy dares." Anne said. "What do you want me to do?"

"Bury me."

Anne widened her eyes. "Say what now?"

"You heard me. As soon as I drink the juice from this herb, I want you to bury me in the dirt completely."

"Are you crazy? I'm not going to hurt you."

"You won't. It's just… Look, there's no time to explain. Just please, do this for me. I promise, I'll tell you everything after." T'Challa was finished with his herb and in his hand was a purple liquid which he drank from his own hand. He breathed heavily as he laid down on the dirt. "Do it, Anne."

Anne shuddered, but then proceeded to pick up handfuls of dirt and cover her friend's body with it. One clump after another, Anne kept throwing dirt until T'Challa was completely buried.

"I hope you know what you're doing." Anne said.

T'Challa opened his eyes, but he was not quite awake. He had entered what was known as the Astral Plane, a world between the living and the dead. To him, it looked like the plain fields of his homeland in the starry night. The Wakandan prince approached the tree at the center where an elderly Wakandan man awaited him in a white robe with a smile on his face.

"Grandfather." T'Challa greeted.

"Young prince. You've decided to use the herb."

"I had no choice. I'm in some kind of strange land and…"

"I understand." Said his grandfather, Azzuri. "I don't have all the information that I can give you, but I do know that you and your friend find yourselves in another world. You will need the strength of the Black Panther in order to survive."

"Even though it means revealing Wakanda's secrets to an outsider?"

"Do you trust her?"

"Right now… Yes."

"Then that should be enough. A true king must have solid judgement in his beliefs. Now, you can return back. Find a way home. And follow your heart."

T'Challa gasped real air into his breath as soon as he shot out from the dirt he was buried in. Anne shrieked when he did.

"Dude, don't give me a heart attack!" Anne yelled. "Why did I have to bury you anyway?"

T'Challa stayed silent for a minute. He stood back up and faced the wall. He turned back to Anne and gave his response. "Anne, what you are about to see is something very few people outside of Wakanda have ever seen. Prepare yourself."

Anne raised an eyebrow in confusion. Stephen tapped the talisman on his necklace and suddenly, a black layer covered his body from it. Anne widened her eyes completely surprised at what she was seeing. In a few short seconds, T'Challa was completely covered in a black cat costume that comes with its own claws. The prince used those claws to latch on up to the wall. With unbelievable speed and agility, he scaled on up until he reached the top. He then grabbed the nearest tree vine and lowered it down to Anne to climb up.

"Hmm…" T'Challa said looking around. His panther mask disappeared into his collar. "It looks like the giant insect is gone."

"Okay." Anne said with a deep breath. "Now then… WHAT WAS THAT?!"

"Anne, be quiet!" T'Challa ordered. "You do remember the giant insect, right?"

"Yeah, and surprisingly, that's the second weirdest thing I've just seen!" Anne replied. "What sort of gymnastics do they teach in Wakanda?"

"Look, I promise I'll explain everything." T'Challa said. "But first, we've got to set camp. It looks like it's gonna get dark soon."

Anne agreed.

Once night fell and the campfire was lit, T'Challa told Anne the truth about his homeland. Anne slumped on her log completely baffled by it.

"So wait. Let me get this straight. There's a big meteorite right underneath Wakanda, and you harvest its metal to make an entirely technologically advanced nation outside of the eyes of the world?"

"It's called vibranium." T'Challa said. "To the world, we have a great scarcity, but that's just what we tell everyone else. The truth is, we have enough to build skycrapers, vehicles, even special threads of clothing."

"Well, what about that awesome climbing?" Anne asked. "Was that flower you ate made of vibranium too?"

"Not exactly. According to legend, it was a gift from the Wakandan cat god, Bast. For generations, it has been the duty of the royals of Wakanda to protect the kingdom as the Black Panther. Now that my father is old, the mantle is mine. Although, I won't officially be the Black Panther until I return to Wakanda and ascend to the throne."

"If you have enough space metal to build your own African Atlantis," Anne said, "Why aren't you sharing it? It could really help a lot of people. I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it?"

"Because wars have been fought for less." T'Challa answered. "All the other nations constantly right with each other and if Wakanda reveals how strong it really is, they'll see us as a hostile force. They'll kill us and take our vibranium for themselves only to use it against each other. They're just not ready."

"Yeesh. That's a pretty grim way of looking at it." Anne said.

"That's just how it's been for generations, Anne." T'Challa said.

"Well, on the bright side, we've at least got super Black Panther powers to help us survive this jungle."

"We're gonna have to do more than survive, Anne. I have reason to believe that we're in a whole other world."

"…Say what now?"

After a couple of weeks of traversing through the forest and fighting off bug monsters, Anne and T'Challa sat at the edge and took a rest.

"This is ridiculous." Anne said. "Nothing's helping. And that bug monster's still on our tail."

"We'll find something." T'Challa said. "We just have to… Wait, what's that?"

Both Anne and T'Challa looked just outside the forest to hear an accordion. They peeked out and saw a little, walking man with the body of a frog and the clothes of a hobo. He had a closed, purple eye and he carried an accordion.

"Is that a frog man?" Anne asked.

"This is another world. So perhaps the locals are different. We may ask him for help, but we have to be stealthy about it. If we look strange to him, we might…"

SNAP!

Anne had accidently stepped on a tree branch and began to panic. She and T'Challa emerged from the bushes right where the frog man was looking. The frog screamed in fight at the sight of them.

"MONSTERS! RUUUUUUUN!" The frog ran off into the dark distance.

"Oops. My bad." Anne said.

"Something tells me that's going to come back to bite us." T'Challa said.
