I know Fletch is no longer in Casualty, but for this chapter he is back with the ED.

This chapter was prompted by LindaAndrewsfan with the prompt: Staff Nurse Linda is being bullied by Fletch, can her friend Jessica help her?

I also know Fletch isn't a mean character but the prompter wanted him to be mean to Linda. I'm sorry, there's hardly any characterisation for him, but I don't feel confident on him and I couldn't find many clips when I looked on YouTube, so I ended up watching Adam and Jessica instead.

The Secret Life Of Casualty,

Chapter 225.

Linda had thought that she had seen the last of the bullying she had suffered while she was in high school, but it turned out she was wrong. On her first day, at the ED, her boss Tess Bateman, had talked cheeky chap Adrian "Fletch " Fletcher in to looking after her, for the first couple of weeks until she had settled in. Fletch had agreed and had shown her around the hospital.

Fletch was in the staff room as the long shift come to an end. He was getting his things out of his locker when Linda walked in on a break, on her phone. Fletch set his

"Oh, sorry, darling. " He said with a smile.

Linda got up and picked up her phone as she blinked back the tears she felt. Why was he doing this to her, it wasn't fair.

She could hear Fletch laughing as she gathered some papers out of her locker. She walked out and Fletch "accidentally" knocked them from her hands, she bent down and scooped them up. She put them back and signed out, leaving the ED for the night, heading back to her flat. She inserted the key and walked in to her flat, dumping her bag and going in to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she eyed the chocolate biscuits she usually kept for when Britany and Joe visited, but she opened the packet and took a few out, munching on them.

As she lay in bed, she played the days events over in her mind.

"Chubby"

Tears stung her eyes.

But tomorrow was a fresh day.

She closed her eyes and slept through until her alarm rang at 8: 00 the next morning. She got out of bed, showered quickly and put on her scrubs, tying her hair back in to a pony and putting on her make up. She looked at her reflection and sighed grabbing her ID badge and putting it in her bag.

She seen that Fletch had brought in some jam doughnuts as it was his daughter's Evie's birthday. He had picked one up and smeared it in Linda's face, before forcing her to eat it, as she choked on it. Fletch laughed. She escaped from Fletch's grasp and ran to the toilet.

A concerned Jessica, who was writing up her patients notes, closed the file and went after her.

"Are you OK?" Jessica asked, knocking on the stall door. She heard the stall door being unlocked and Linda walked over to the sink to wash her hands.

The two girls shared a hug as Linda wiped her smudged make - up away. As Jessica left, as she had to get back to work, Linda took a few more minutes to compose herself. She took a deep breath and walked down the stairs picking up her next patient case. When, the patient, a boy, was better, she discharged him and went on her break

Fletch walked up to Linda. He rubbed his hands together and looked at Linda, who managed a quick glance in his direction.

"Linda, I'm sorry. " He said.

Linda looked at him and walked away to calm down, but then headed back to Fletch. "I was bullied as a child. "

Fletch nodded. He had supposed he had only done it for a laugh, but it wasn't very fun for Linda. Tess had got wind of it, and had sacked Fletch for his treatment of her, but Linda hadn't wanted him to lose his job as he had 3 kids to support.

At the end of the day Jessica waited outside for her friend, dressed in jeans, tee and a hoodie and after checking Adam was alright to keep an eye on her kids, kids she had decided to treat Linda to a drink at the pub. She ordered Linda a white wine and herself an orange juice.

Fletch stood up and walked over to the counter.

"I'll get these darling. " He pulled out his wallet and got out £20.

"Thanks Fletch " Jessica smiled, picking them up and walking over to her table where Linda was sitting. She smiled, reaching for her glass and taking a sip, it tasted bitter. Jessica reached for her own drink.

Walking Linda back to her flat, Jessica waited until she had walked

"Alright, Jess?" Adam asked, his wife.

"I'm fine. " She replied as she walked in to the kitchen to see her son.

She kissed her son's head.

"Mum. " Lucas complained.

Jessica laughed as there was a knock at the door. Adam went to answer.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Is Jess in?" Linda asked.

"Yeah " Adam replied as he moved aside and let Linda enter.

"Are you ok?" She asked, she was surprised to see her at her house, she never usually come round.

"Can I stop over?" She asked.

Jessica looked at Adam, as it was a Friday night, she had been looking forward to watching a DVD with him and the kids.

"Sure " Jessica led her up the stairs, and in to the spare room, well, it had belonged to her baby, as it was going to be his nursery, when they had moved him out of their room, but he had died, before his time. She shook her head, as she opened the door. The cot had been replaced by a single bed, the baby blue curtains were now blinds, the pictures of the exhausted mum holding her new born had been taken down, replaced with posters that the kids had picked.

Linda smiled gratefully, she knew about Harry and as she went to find Linda some pj's she looked through her Facebook, Jessica come back in and laid the pj's on the bed and told her there was a spare toothbrush and toothpaste, in the on - suite, she wondered why a bathroom would be in a baby's nursery, but Adam told her it was already there when he brought the 5 bedroomed detached house.

She put on the pj's and got in to the bed, feeling thankful that she still had friends that cared about her.
