sweet - as - Honey: Thank you for the review. Cal didn't deal with everything that Ricky had suffered in the right way, and he could have tried too, but at least she had his support in the end.
Just a short Jessica and Linda friendship chapter.
The Secret Life Of Casualty.
Chapter 252.
Jessica found she was spending this Christmas alone, as her children were with their father, after returning to Holby after the death of her youngest, Sean and Jessica had reached an agreement, that they would spend one Christmas with him, the other with her, she wasn't really happy as he had crossed a line with her, but she realised as she watched Harry's coffin be lowered in to the ground that life was too short, it could be taken away at any moment.
Over on the Farmead Estate, Linda Andrews found she was facing a similar lonely Christmas. She would usually spend it with her sister and her two children, but during a phone call with Denise, she had revealed that she was dating a new man and that they were spending Christmas with hm. After getting off the phone, Linda looked at the presents she had wrapped for Britany and Joe, and sighed, they wouldn't get their presents until new year.
Jessica sat in the living room, staring at the TV, she used to love Christmas, buying the kids presents, getting them to help her put the tree up, but that all changed when one New Year, six years ago, she was due to marry Adam, a consultant, who had accepted her kids as his own, and they were parents to a baby boy.
Jessica's flashback.
Zoe, and Tess had come round to help the bride in to her dress. A short, strapless gown, with ruffles in the bottom of it. A pair of white heels on her feet.
Zoe put the curlers in her hair and then started on her makeup.
Driving on the country lanes, they needed to reach their venue, a car was driving in the same direction and collided with Adam's car, causing them to collide on to the icy lake.
Hearing the cries of her baby broke her heart. She had later wished she had died instead.
"Jess, don't " Adam told her, knowing that any sudden movement could send them down in to the icy water.
But Jessica ignored Adam in a bid to free their son from his car seat. She picked him up as they got her other children out of the car.
But as the car, breaking under the shift in the ice, slowly submerged under, Adam faced a battle to rescue his wife and son. He kicked at the doors as water filled the car.
The car had no sign of Jessica in the car, Adam couldn't see Harry either. Searching and searching for the woman in the white gown, Adam was almost ready to give up, until he spotted her. Dragging her to the surface, he allowed Dixie and Jeff to try to warm her up, before placing her on to a stretcher.
He then went down to try to find their son. Finding him, he gave him to the paramedics and mother and son were rushed to hospital.
Waking up after two weeks in a coma, with Adam by her side, he said the words she didn't want to hear.
"Jess. It's Harry, he didn't make it " He told her, holding her hand.
She felt her world collapse then, as she pulled her hand from his.
A week later, when Jessica was back at work, she had a small fright, when dealing with a hand hygiene form, she bumped in to her old mate.
Finding out that Linda was pregnant with her first baby, devastated Jessica and although she was happy for her, it just reminded Jessica that Harry was no longer with her.
Linda, seeing her upset, gave her a hug.
End of flashback
Someone must hate her, if they wanted to take her baby away
Picking up her phone, she selected a new message and started to type.
"Linda?" She deleted it, it didn't seem right. How did you ask somebody if they wanted to spend Christmas with them? She bit her lip and sent another message.
When Linda replied she'd like that, Jessica realised that she didn't have a turkey, and the shops would have none left. Heading in to the kitchen, she pulled open the fridge and tried to think of something she could use instead of a turkey. She put a white tablecloth over the table, looked for the box of crackers that Amelia had persuaded her to buy. Finding them, she opened them and placed them on the table.
Linda arrived at her friends house and rang the doorbell waiting for her to answer it. She walked in to the hallway, opening the door.
"Hi Jess" Linda said, stepping in to the house.
Jessica looked in the oven, checking on the food she had put in the oven and seeing it ready, she put on the oven mitt, she used when handling hot food and brought it out, before severing it up with the vegetables she had prepared.
"Merry Christmas Linda" Jessica smiled.
Linda swallowed her mouthful of wine and then she spoke. "Merry Christmas Jess"
