The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 426

Ruby was exhausted, everything with Iain and now Dani was getting on top of her. Of course, she was glad to see Iain on the mend.

The house was in darkness when she returned home, (true was, when she told Dani she was meeting a friend, it was a lie, she just wanted some time to herself. Chucking the keys down, she started to climb the stairs when a funny feeling come over her and she lost her footing and fell down the remaining steps. She felt her eyes start to close.

Ruby groaned when she slowly started to come around. There was pain in her ankle. She knew, as a paramedic, it was dislocated.

Jan was concerned that Ruby hadn't shown up for work, she was usually on time, so she decided to go to her house, she grabbed her kit on the way.

"Ruby, its Jan." She said, knocking on the door, but receiving no answer.

Jan broke the window and found the young paramedic, lying lifeless at the bottom of the stairs.

"Ruby, can you hear me?" She asked, unzipping her kit and putting a mask on the young paramedic as she radioed ahead.

"This is Ruby Sparks, 28, found at home, after a fall. "

"Ruby, sweetie, it's Elle, can you hear me?" Elle asked, shining her flashlight in to her eyes.

Ruby nodded and mumbled a small "Yeah"

Elle unded the frac pac and offered Ruby the entnox tube. the young paramedic put the tube in her mouth as she took a deep breath. once it was pulled back in to place, it was bandaged up and she'd be given a pair of crutches once she was discharged.

Jan come to see Ruby once she was settled.

"Thank you," Ruby said.

Just then, Iain walked in.

"Just because I overdosed, you had to do ond better," Iain joked.

Jan and Ruby both stared, horrified, at him.

"overdosing is not a joking matter," Jan said sternly.

Iain bowed his head in shame.

"we will be keeping you overnight," Elle told her.

Ruby was dissapointed that she had to stay in overnight, but Jan and Iain both offered to stay with her.

I'm sorry I did a fall scene for Ruby (I must admit I do find them easier to write though)

I know that overdosing is no laughing matter, I know that it isn't.
