The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter

Ruby knew that she would have to enrol Rose in the local high school, she didn't really know any of the mums, except nurse Jessica Harrison, whose daughter Amelia was in year 7. She'd rang up the number and arranged a meeting.

The next day, Ruby got ready for the school meeting she was to have with the head of year, Mary.

Ruby took a seat in Mary's office. Ruby had to fill out forms and answer questions about Rose's previous education. She felt guilty she didn't know because she'd been away at univeristy, studying alongside Will and Rash.

"We'll have Rose sit a standard maths and English exam, to see what set she's in, " Mary told Ruby.

"Thanks" Ruby nodded, handing her sister her lunch box and telling her to have a good day, until she came to pick her up at 3: 30.

Ruby left the school grounds, until she heard someone call her name.

"Ruby"

Ruby turned around, she recongised the voice.

"Oh, hi, Jess. " Ruby replied. Jessica had dropped her daughter off.

"Fancy a coffee?" Jess, who was on a day off, asked.

Ruby nodded, she didn't want to go back to an empty flat.

Jessica headed to her car and unlocked the doors. She got in the drivers seat and put her belt on.

"Do you think Rose will be ok?" Ruby hardly knew her sister.

Jessica nodded. "She'll be fine. I've asked Amelia to keep an eye on her. "

Ruby nodded, apperiating the fact Rose would have someone to look after her.

Jess pulled in to the car park of a small cafe and picked up her bag, getting out of the car.

The two women sat down, at a small wooden table at looked at the menu for a few moments. They both decided on a tea and Ruby went to order them.

It wasn't just Rose who had made a new friend, Ruby had too.

"Thanks for this, Jess" Ruby said as they headed back towards the older woman's car, to pick the kids up from school.

Jessica smiled. "It's OK, "

I know Ruby and Jess have never actually met on the show, I just thought it would be different and to be honest, I quite liked writing it.
