Guest: Thank you for the review, while it could be seen from the perspective of Sam and Connie, it was about Jess and Adam.

The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 589

Fletch walked up to the ward, of his old workplace. Tess was coming in later, she told him she didn't want him facing being on his own. Flech sat in the chair, while a nurse connected him to a drip, which fed life saving drugs in to his system.

"Thanks" Flech said as the nurse finished, but he didn't have the heart to wink at her.

"Hey Fletch," Tess smiled, kissing him lightly on the cheek. She sat beside him.

"Did the kids get off OK?" Fletch asked. Tess nodded.

"Yep, Evie and Mikey took Ella and Theo in."

Fletch nodded, his older children had stepped up since being told daddy wasn't well. Ella had put her arms around Fletch and asked if he was going to die, like her mummy had.

Fletch suddenly shivered, the ward was cold, Tess pulled a hoodie out of the bag she had beside her and put it around him, it was important that patients kept warm.

A few hours later, the drip finished and Fletch was dieconnected, with Tess inviting him back to her rented flat on the Farmead Estate, she had bad memories of when she was impaled on a spike, but for Fletch, she would stay there.

Leaning against Tess, Fletch walked slowly to the lifts as Tess pressed the button, waiting for the lift. When it arrived, she gently guided him in, noticing how old and tired he was for the first time. There was no sparkle in his eyes, the sparkle that had attracted Tess to him in the first place.

Arriving outside her flat, Tess opened the door and gently guided him inside, sitting him down on the couch and wrapping a blanket around him. She stroked his hair and watched him close his eyes. She had been throufh cancer once before with her ex husband but she was determined to help Fletch win his battle.
