The Keeper of Worlds: Well, I can see this getting emotional
Indeed.
Xivu: I really like this version of events more that I do in the concept. I hope that Eda warms up to Luz more than she did in the concept. In the concept she still had some doubt about keeping Luz and told herself that she would return Luz to the human realm when she was old enough, but that's kind of a bad plan since at that point Luz wouldn't be able to fit into human society and also doesn't even have an ID or anything, her only oficial identification is a birth certificate for a baby that went missing years ago so I hope Eda doesn't have those doubts since judging by how quickly she warmed up to the bat babies she would wanna keep Luz.
Now I'm gonna make 2 predictions as to some of the things I think are gonna happen.
1) Luz is gonna be the one who wants to go to the human world. I think that she'll have vague memories of her birth mother and will wanna go to the human world and find her because she thinks that her birth mother would like to see her again after all this time. She might even convince Eda to let her go by saying that if Luz suddenly went missing Eda would wanna know where she was too.
2) Luz is gonna have a moonlight conjuring with Eda and King. A younger (maybe 6-10 years old) Luz could use some very effective puppy dog eyes on Eda and King to get them to do a conjuring with her and it would be SUPER epic. Luz, Gus and Willow could animate a house so it stands to reason that Luz along with Eda the most powerful witch on the boiling isles and King (who is probably some type of elder god/demon) could really do something amazing.
3) Young Luz is gonna be friends with young Willow and young Amity and she and Willow are gonna stay friends after Amity's parents make her reject them both.
Those are some predictions I have. Can't wait for the next chapter. Looking forward to it.
Thanks! This story will be a little different than the concept I posted, but you got one of these predictions right.
CapMorgan55: Wow. When Camila finds Luz, she is going to bawl her eyes out, sock Eda in the mouth, and then thank her for looking after her daughter. And I'm not too sure on that last bit.
Lol. Eda would probably just keep Luz if that were to happen.
Captain29thegamer: Please more.
Ask and you shall receive.
Hilko Salomons: You say that Eda doesn't know Luz's gender but when Luz first comes out of the bag Eda calls her a human girl.
Eda didn't call Luz a little girl. Putting Luz's gender was for the readers, but King and Eda are unaware so they didn't say she or he. But I changed it so there won't be no confusion in the future.
Heh-Hehh
*Snort*
Eda's nose twitched at the small sound of laughter but she didn't wake up.
SNAP
Welp, that did it. Now lets see what that loud noise was.
Eda's eyes squinted open to block most of the morning light illuminating throughout her bedroom. It took a minute for her vision to finally adjust only to see King and Hoody looming over her, smiling like idiots with the former holding a camera.
"What?" Eda asked with suspicion. "Did one of you draw on my face again?"
King struggled to hold back his laughter as he replied. "No. We're just admiring you and your sleeping buddy!"
Eda shuffled in her nest only to realize that the weight she felt when the kid laid on her chest was gone.
"Where's the kid?" Eda asked, partially panicking before King stopped her from moving.
"Don't move! Here." King held out a photo that just came out from the bottom of the camera.
Eda grabs it from his tiny paw and examines it to find a certain someone snuggled in her wild hair. She tossed the photo aside and reached over her head to feel the kid is indeed curled up like a rat in its nest.
Eda sighed in relief.
"It must've crawled up there while you were asleep. I don't blame 'em, your hair is soft and warm!" said King.
Eda grabbed the kid and pulled it back towards her chest so she could sit up.
"Mornin' kiddo." Eda greeted to the tot who rubbed their eyes and looked up at Eda with a big smile.
"I hope you enjoyed your one-night stay at Hotel Eda. Your check-out time will be this evening so be sure to pack all of your belongings and kindly leave a tip, please." Eda said playfully which caused the kid to giggle.
"All right, now let's-"
Eda stops talking as she begins to sniff the air.
"What's that smell?" she cringes.
"Sorry. Morning breath!" Hooty apologized.
"It isn't your breath, Hooty. It's coming from them!" King replied while pointing at the toddler who was looking off into space with strained grunts escaped through their lips.
Eda then realized what was going on.
"Great..." she groaned before looking up at her two housemates. "So who wants to help me change their diaper?"
Instead of answering with words, King and Hooty show their willingness to help their friend out by running out of the room at a great speed. slamming the door behind them.
Eda was first surprised by what they did before a dark expression formed on her face.
"YOU BOTH BETTER BE GLAD I DON'T CHARGE RENT!" she screamed angrily.
"How do you make your own house pay rent?" Hoody's muffled voice questioned through the door which was one of the few times he has ever made a good point.
Eda sneered before calming herself and looked down at the child in her hands who was staring right back. Despite really not wanting to do this, Eda's smart enough to know that a toddler can't wear a dirty diaper for long.
"Alright...Time to change a diaper..." she said while pondering on how she would rather be listening to Hooty's stories than doing this.
King and Hooty stands in front of the door and listens close to what's going on inside.
"OH! OH, DEAR TITAN!" Eda cries from the other side which is followed by the child's burst of giggles.
"Looks like someone's enjoying another's misery. Hoot! Hoot!" said Hooty.
King looks at the door with a remorseful glance.
"I feel sorry for abandoning Eda like that... But not enough to change that diaper myself."
Minutes pass as the duo continues to listen in on Eda's cries and torturous gagging from whatever horrors she is witnessing.
King leaned his head against the door and knocked softly.
"Eda? Are you okay in there?" he inquired.
He didn't receive an answer until he heard a shrill voice on the other side. "It's all over my hands!" Eda whined as it sounded like she was going to vomit at any second.
...
"I think she's doing fine!" King told Hooty optimistically.
For what felt like hours, the bedroom door swung open to reveal a traumatized Eda holding a babbling toddler with her left arm.
"I've seen things today... Things that'll never leave my brain." Eda moaned shakingly.
"Well the good thing about this is that you came out alive. Hoot! Hoot!" Hooty rejoiced.
Eda's mortified expression shifted to frightening glare which caused a shiver to run down his spine along with King's.
"Yeah. No thanks to you two abandoning me! And I had to sacrifice one of my own pillowcases as a makeshift diaper! But something else good came out of this. I found out while changing this little poop factory's nappy that it's really a girl!" Eda revealed with a grin as she held the little girl close.
"AWWWW! So cute!" Hooty fawned as his neck craned towards the girl who buried herself close to Eda immediately.
"Might want to back off, Hooty. It looks like she still remembers you almost eating her last night." King pointed out.
"It's not like I was going to eat her anyways. Do you know how much germs and diseases humans carry? It's disgusting!" Hooty revolted.
"Well, at least try not to scare her again. Last thing we need is this kid going back home with nightmares." said Eda.
"Hey, Do you think we can give her a name?" King asked.
Eda scowled. "Why?"
"I'm tired of calling her kid, it, and they all the time. It's annoying." The lil demon explained.
Eda shook her head in disapproval.
"Sorry, but names will only lead to you getting attached and this little one is going back home tonight. So until then, you just call her kid."
Suddenly, Eda heard a low growl noise coming from the little girl in her arms. She looked at her with a side glance.
"I'm guessing you're hungry." said Eda knowingly.
"I thought you said it was a girl?" said Hooty.
Eda and King facepalmed at Hooty's idiocy.
Later, in the kitchen, the little girl sits in a high chair that Eda conjured up with a simple spell, playing with a wooden spoon given to distract her until breakfast is ready.
"So what are you going to feed her?" King asked Eda as he stands on the counter.
"Well, I checked the tike's mouth and found some chompers in there, so I don't need to give her anything strictly liquid. But to be on the safe side, I'm just gonna mash up some fruit and put it in a bowl." Eda explained.
"Hmm. Are you sure you can handle something like that?" King asked teasingly.
Eda put a hand on her hip. "Now I may not be the best chef in the Isles, but I can do something as simple as making fruit paste. All I need is-"
Eda reached down and quickly pulls up a comically large mallet.
"My mallet!" Eda proclaims as she raises it into the air and swings it down.
"Oh, Titan's sake!" King screamed as he scurried away right as Eda slammed the mallet onto on the fruit in a cartoony way.
The little girl watched with amusement from her high chair as Eda lifted the mallet to reveal the mushy mess of fruit and pulp.
"Still got it.' Eda admired her "culinary skills" with a satisfied smirk.
King gave out a strained breath as he hopped back up onto the counter.
"A warning next time will do nicely!" he complained.
Eda rolled her eyes. "You're still alive, flea bag."
A few minutes later, the little girl was sloppily eating her breakfast while Eda and King were enjoying eggs and toast.
Eda raised a mug of coffee to her lips and sipped as she read the morning scroll.
"Today's plague forecast reads that the skies will be clear. Good thing too! What we don't need is the kid or Hooty looking up at a Painbow, especially the kid. I'd feel sorry to the parents if we brought her back with her intestines dangling about." said Eda as her eyes lazily scanned the paper.
"Eww! I'm still eating, Eda." King barked.
"Said the squirt who continued to enjoy his clam chowder even after watching Hooty cough up a hairball." Eda fired back.
King waved her off. "Whatever. But since there's no plague today, why don't you take the kid out into town and show them around a bit?" the little demon suggested.
"And why would I do that?" Eda asked while looking up from the scroll.
"Well you said you're returning the kid tonight and it's currently noontime. The kid has like seven or eight hours before they leave, so why not kill some time?" King explained.
Eda gave him a disapproving glance.
"No. Unless you forgot, the Emperor's Guards are more active when the sun's up and I have a very steep bounty on my head. Other than that, what if they see a human child with me? I can already imagine what people would say now: "The Owl Lady has kidnapped a child!", or "There's a human in the Boiling Isles! Hang them up by their toenails!", or "Let's catch them both and get double, no, triple the reward money!"." Eda mocks with her tongue sticking out.
King blinked in surprise by Eda's slight outburst.
"I understand that the citizens here are prejudice towards humans, but as far as we know, the one sitting at the table with us right now is probably the first and only human to of entered into the Boiling Isles ever. So who knows how everyone will react to her?" said King.
Eda rested the scroll on the table.
"I appreciate your optimism. But I don't want to risk walking into an ambush where this kid could get hurt." Eda replied with concern as she looked at the little girl who had her face buried in the bowl, licking every last drop of fruit mush her tongue can make contact with.
For some reason, seeing this made Eda smile ever so slightly.
Even Eda can admit that besides being an unexpected guest, this kid is cute.
"So that's why the kid will have to stay here until it's time to go." Eda finished.
The little girl separated her face from the bowl, allowing the King and Eda to see dirty face.
"Done!" the little girl announced which surprised the two.
"Huh. So she can speak." Eda scowled.
"For a second there, I thought she didn't know how." King added before hopping onto the table and handing the girl a napkin which she proceeded to tear apart instead of cleaning her face.
Chuckling, Eda grabs a new napkin and wipes the girl's face completely.
"This kid's a riot." Eda remarked after wiping off the last piece of food from the girl's right cheek.
"Now what do you say?" The Owl Lady asked with a scowl.
The little girl stared at Eda with a blank expression as if she was processing Eda's words.
"Thank!" the kid shouted.
"Thank...what?" Eda continued, tilting her head and rolled her hands.
The little girl was silent for a few seconds. "Thank!" she squeaked again.
Giving up but far from annoyed, Eda laughed. "Like I said before: She's a riot."
"Oh! What's your name?" King questioned in anticipation.
The little girl blinked.
"L-"
"King!" Eda interrupted.
"What?!" he shrugged, feigning innocence.
"I said no names! Knowing will only lead you to getting attached and we can't have that!" Eda grilled.
"Oh, come on! Knowing her name can't be that bad." King defended.
"She probably can't say her name yet anyways. For all we know, she could have one of those annoyingly long names like Evangelina or Genevieve. Yes, that second one is real!"
"Fine, whatever." King crossed his arms and pouted.
Eda closed her eyes and kept them closed for half a minute to regain her composure before looking back at the little girl who was still staring at her with those big brown eyes.
"In any case, we have a big day of playtime ahead of us. Do you want playtime?" Eda asked the kid in a cutesy voice.
A large smile formed at the girl's face as she kicked her legs and bounced in her seat.
"Play! Play!" she repeated happily.
"Three words. Impressive." Eda complimented.
Half an hour later after breakfast was finished, Eda was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed as she watched the kid play with King.
The little tot shrieked with laughter as she chased after King who was running away from her, pretending she was a monster.
Eventually, King pretended to be exhausted; slowing down and then falling onto his side after.
"Help me!" King pleaded with a false sound of fear in his squeaky voice.
The little girl hovered over King with her arms stretched out.
"AAHHHH!" she roared before dropping down onto King who let out an OOF! from the sudden weight of the child laying on top of his body.
Eda's lips curved into a smile as she watched the two's playtime unfold. Though something inside of Eda felt different. It's difficult to explain, but if feels like a small buildup of pressure around her chest area, more specifically her heart.
What is this?, Eda asked herself internally.
Could it be the magic sack connected to her heart acting up? Possibly it be that her not-so-healthy food choices are finally coming back to haunt her?
Or maybe it's... her curse?
Cold sweat leaked from Eda's skin. Am I about to transform soon? Ugh. I can't right now! Not in front of King and the kid.
But thinking about it, what she's feeling is far different than how her body usually feels before the curse takes hold.
Eda breaths deeply through her nose, feeling relieved. When she finds out who cursed her, she'll tear them a literal new one and feed their eyeballs to Hooty! Now all she has to do is find out the identity of this mystery curser...
"Oh! Can I play too?" As usual, Hooty's loud voice pulls Eda out of her thoughts once again. Though this time, she really didn't mind.
"Sure! What do you have in mind?" King questioned as the little girl also stared up at Hooty.
"Get on my back and I'll show you! Hoot-Hoot!" the snaked owl creature lowered his long neck to the ground enough to allow King to lift the kid onto the neck and for himself to mount as well.
With his two passengers situated, Hooty rose up.
"It's Horsey Time!"Hooty announced as he swayed his neck side-to-side and stretched into different areas, being careful to not spin far enough for King and the kid to fall off.
King cheered as she little girl being held by his hands raised her arms and laughed loudly as Eda herself giggled while watching the mayhem.
Sometime later after Hooty's ride ended, King got the idea to bust out some paper and crayons which proved to successfully entertain the girl who looked to be hard at work with different colors.
Eda continued to watch her and King, the latter drawing himself with a buff body figure and a large yellow crown on top of his head and looked at his work proudly which made Eda snicker.
"Ah!" the kid gasped.
Eda looked over to see the kid reaching over the table with a piece of paper in hand. She wanted Eda to take the paper from her.
Eda did so and looked at the colorful zig-zags sloppily scribbled on the paper and smiled.
"Hey, this looks-" she stopped speaking as something drawn on the paper which caused her to take a closer look.
Despite the crude shapes and crooked lines, Eda could almost make out two people, one big and the other small. The big one was wearing a dark purple dress with gray hair while the small figure had dark brown hair, brown skin, and purple covering the little body.
It finally clicked in Eda's head that the drawing is of her and the kid. She immediately had that feeling return in her chest. That strange warm, tingly feeling.
Eda glanced up to see the kid staring at her, grinning ear-to-ear, waiting to hear what Eda will say.
"I...It's great, kid. Good" Eda smiled through the unknown warm feeling.
The little girl blushed and buried her face into her hands. Small muffled squealing can be heard coming from the bashful child's mouth.
Some more hours have passed and the little girl has already been treated to lunch which was just another bowl of mashed fruit with an added bonus of crackers. Eda does have other things she could've cooked instead, but she didn't know how the girl would react to the foods found in the Boiling Isles which is FAR different that what you see in the human realm. Something else that Eda enjoys from the human realm other than various trash is this thing called "Chili-Cheese Fries". She wondered if the kid has ever had it back home?
After they all ate, Eda sat on the couch and glanced at her crystal ball to see if anything was on only to find those cheesy soap operas are the only things airing.
"I should've upgraded to premium." Eda thought to herself.
"Hey, Eda!" King called, waddling towards the couch with the child being held with his tiny arms.
"The kid wants to tell you something!" he announced.
Eda sat the crystal ball aside and leaned forwards, eyeing the toddler.
"Does she now?" Eda scowled as she reached over and grabbed the girl from King's grasp.
"And what does this little lady have to say that's so impo-"
Eda stopped talking as a familiar foul smell. It didn't take long for the owl lady to figure out that it was coming from the kid.
"KING!" Eda yelled only to find out that the little demon has made his escape while she was distracted.
"Men." Eda mumbled bitterly which made the little girl giggle.
Like before, Eda had to sacrifice another good pillowcase to the unspeakable horror that is a toddler's bum.
The toddler in question was tuckered out by the full day of playtime she participated in and fell asleep on the couch. Eda sat next to her, gently stroking her dark brown hair while lost in her own thoughts.
Looking out a nearby window, Eda noticed that the sun was going down and with that, the kid will be going home soon.
"King." Eda called quietly.
The dog-esque demon poked his head from around the corner of the kitchen and into the living room.
King's still worried if Eda is still upset that he abandoned her to another dirty diaper.
The Owl Lady motioned for King to come closer which he did albeit hesitantly.
Now in front of the couch, Eda began to speak.
"King, I'm about to head out to the human realm and find the kid's home, so I need you to watch her until I return." she explained.
"Wait. You're not gonna take her with you?" King questioned with a scowl.
"I have a lot of houses to search and to do that I need to be quick and stealthy. The kid'll slow me down." Eda replied as she carefully removed herself from the couch to not wake the little girl from her slumber.
"Alright, I'll watch her." King complied as he climbed up to where Eda was sitting seconds ago.
"Thanks. Do a good job and I might forget you bailing on me like earlier." Eda said sharply which caused King to gulp and sweat.
Eda grabbed her nearby staff and caressed the wooden owl on top.
"Hey, buddy. Are you up for a little trip?" she asked the owl which suddenly transformed its wooden body to real feathers and the likeness to a living owl.
Owlbert nodded and transformed back into wood.
Before walking out the door, Eda grabbed her cloak and looked at the sleeping kid one last time before exiting her home.
Eda has been searching the entire area for the kid's home, but found no results so far.
She found a few houses with occupants baring a similar skin color like the girl's, but nothing in the house signified that the little girl is theirs. Eda even went into houses belonging to owners with different skin colors than the girl just in case if she was adopted into any of those families, but alas, nothing.
There was a house that was having a party which was extremely difficult for Eda to resist. If she didn't have something important going on, she would've crashed the party!
She has been at this for a while and still no lead. Eda was about to give up until she found one last house.
A small home that sat next to a trail leading into the woods towards the abandoned shack where Eda had her portal set last time. It was a stretch, but maybe this is what Eda was looking for.
Flying down with her staff, Eda's boots touched the ground. The house before her was devoid of light (and life for that matter) and there was none of those metal beast things that humans ride in. What are they called again? Cars?
The house was so quiet that Eda started to suspect that no one lives here, but she can't give up just yet.
The possible owners, whoever they are, are probably just out. They most likely lost their kid.
Sighing, Eda walked towards the front door. This was the moment of truth; This has to be the house.
If it is, then Eda would return the girl home to her parents. But if not... Eda would think of something.
But Eda's focus was broken by the sight of a bright light and the hum of an engine approaching close.
Eda quickly hopped on her staff and flew off to not be seen.
A police car pulls up and parks in front of the house. The front passenger side door opens as an exhausted looking Camila Noceda exits the vehicle.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Noceda. We'll call if someone finds your daughter." the policeman says sympathetically.
Camila doesn't respond with words or even emotion. She just nods and closes the car door and heads for her house.
She unlocks the front door and enters the dark living room. Instead of turning on any lights, Camila's back meets the door as she slides down to the floor.
Her emotion-drained face crinkles as warm tears brim in her eyelids.
"Luz mi hija. Lo siento..." she whispered softly.
With that, Camila lets the tears she has been holding back all day fall from her eyes as she cries for her daughter's return.
I couldn't find her home... Eda says internally as she soars through the skies of the Boiling Isles.
Before, Eda would keep a look-out for any possible ambushes set by the Emperor's Coven, but she instead wore a stoic expression as billions of thoughts clouded her mind of what to do now.
Truthfully, Eda already has the answer. But can she manage something as serious as this?
...Yes, she'll have to.
The front door of the owl house opens revealing an expressionless Eda.
King who is sitting on the floor with the little girl who was now awake and playing with one of the former's stuffed animals looks up to see his old friend.
He hops to his feet and races towards Eda with his tail wagging.
"You're back! Did you find her home?" King asked impatiently.
Eda didn't answer. She just stared blankly at the little girl who was smiling back.
"Eda?" King called, slightly worried.
The Owl Lady closes the door and sets her staff against a nearby wall.
"No." she simply replied.
"No what?" King questioned with a tilt of his head.
Eda finally looked King in the eyes. "I couldn't find her home."
King's eyes widened.
"What? Now what will we do?" he panicked.
Eda once again didn't reply with words as she stepped closer to the little girl and crouched next to her. The little girl reached up towards Eda.
"I thought about it on the way home and I've decided that she'll be living with us for the time being." Eda announced as she scooped the little girl up into the air, causing her to squeal in delight.
"Really? Yay!" King rejoiced.
"But it won't be permanent!" Eda quickly added.
King's happy demeanor changed into confusion.
"Huh?" he said, unsure that Eda meant.
"King. Even though I couldn't track down this kid's native home, this shouldn't be her new one. She's a human and humans don't... can't belong in the Boiling Isles. This place is dangerous for everyone, but it's increased by billions when it comes to humans. You know their species isn't well-liked here." Eda pointed out.
King could see what Eda meant. The Isles isn't the greatest place when it comes to humans.
"So what's your plan then?" he asked.
Eda sat the kid back onto the floor and gave the top of her head a pat.
"We raise her. Teach her everything she needs to know about life and how to survive it, how to be independent. And once she's at an age where she can fend for herself, we'll send her home so she can build a life with the other humans. I assume that fourteen is a decent age." Eda said while watching at the kid uses Eda's left leg to help herself stand up.
King pondered what he was told and agreed.
"Alright. So now we have four occupants living here counting Hooty. I guess we can make this work. Wait, does this mean..."
Eda nodded. "Yes, we can now name her."
King cheered as he raised a fist in the air.
"Awesome! We can call her King Jr!" he declared.
King's macho stance was undone by Eda's sudden fit of laughter.
"Hey! What's so funny?" King asked, annoyed.
"HA! S-Sorry, but... King Jr? If you've forgotten, this is a little girl and king is a title for males. Plus that's just a dumb name all together." Eda said mockingly.
"Alright. What name to you have in mind?" King asked with a cross of his arms.
Eda rubbed her hands together. "Only the best name a child can ever have... Eda Jr!"
...
"THAT NAME'S EVEN WORSE!" King roared.
"How? She'll be named after a powerful witch, that being me! Better than being named after a shortstack who needs a stepping stool to see the bathroom mirror!" Eda yelled back.
"At least she would be named after royalty with King Jr instead of being named after a high school drop-out!" King snapped.
Eda glared daggers at King.
"sorry..." he apologized quickly.
"How about Hooty Jr?" Hooty suggested as he once again butts into another conversation that has nothing to do with him.
Eda simply pushed Hooty away.
"Alright, small fry. How about we ask the kid which name she likes better?" Eda challenged.
"Fine!" King answered as he and Eda looked at the kid who was staring back.
"Okay, kid. Which name is better: Eda Jr or King Jr?" Eda asked.
"She's gonna say my name. It's the best choice!" King boasted.
"Yeah, sure, whatever. If this kid is smart, she'll know that my name is superior. Now come on, kiddy. What's your name?" Eda asked in a sweet voice that she knows would entice children.
"Luz." the child replied much to Eda & King's confusion.
"What?" Eda said confusingly.
"Is Luz some sorta new slang kids are using? I'm out of the loop." said King.
"Kid. What name do you want?" Eda asked again.
"Luz!" she confirmed.
...
"Luz?" Eda said, wondering what the kid's reaction will be if she said it.
The little girl nodded her head with a smile.
"Huh. So you did have a name this whole time. Luz...it has a nice ring to it." said King.
"Well, I guess it's settled then. Luz Clawthorne!" Eda settled.
Luz giggled after hearing her name called.
Eda reached down and picked up Luz. "We'll talk more about getting you settled in tomorrow. For now, might as well show you your new home."
The Owl Lady carried Luz towards the door.
"Where are you going? I thought Luz was living here?" King pointed out.
Eda turned back. "She is. I just want to show her around."
Outside, Eda sat on the staff with Luz placed in front of her with a protective hand keeping her close.
"Hope you're not afraid of heights." said Eda as the staff started to levitate above the ground and took off into the air.
Luz cheered in delight for the ride Eda was taking her on as the cool air blew against her face. Seeing the girl so excited made Eda smile.
Now high in the sky, Eda had a good view of the her homeland.
"Luz... Welcome to the Boiling Isles." said Eda.
Luz looked down below, astonished by the sights and the lights from the towns below as she clung to Eda's dress.
The Owl Lady might've been overthinking this at the moment, but how Luz was holding tightly at her and being so close gave the impression that she trusted Eda with her life.
Then again, who wouldn't when they're so high in the air.
But whatever it was, it didn't stop that warm feeling in Eda's chest from returning.
Woo-Hoo! Chapter 2!
I will now like to address how future chapters would be. Most of them won't take place day-by-day and instead be in the form of timeskips where Luz is a year or two older (she's two-years-old right now).
As for chapter 3, I have no idea when I'll get around to making it, but this won't be the last chapter and chapter 3 should be out within the next few months! The reason why is because there's this other major Owl House story that I'm working on which will require a lot of attention and I need to get back to work on it. I'll reveal more about it eventually.
