Welcome back, welcome back! As I'm sure many of the DuckTales fans could figure out, this is indeed the subsequent events of "JAW$!", which was the intended material for the original storyline for Duckburg's Downfall. I decided that I'm going to add some spice onto it, along with answers for the plot holes I made throughout the original arc. I highly recommend you to not read the original story arc first but instead to enjoy this as we move along!
However, I have to set things clear before we continue. As a lot of readers of the original Duckburg's Downfall know that I revealed May and June on Chapter 2 with inconclusive writing and clumsy plot holes were made. This is in fact one of the reasons why I scrapped the whole story altogether, and this extremely inconsistent writing will be completely removed here.
Other than that, enjoy Chapter 2: Things Might Not Be What It Seems To Be.

"It's the magical shark, isn't it?" Dewey asked.

"We have to hide, now!" Huey yelled. They approached to the side of the Money Bin.

"Vi, Webby, you have to get to the Manor before... me and Louie do." Huey said. "Can you both do it?"

"We can, Huey." Violet assured. "You do not have to worry."

They soon ran fast toward the bridge, while after a few moments, Huey and Louie in the Money Bin showed up, visibly scared and still screaming. Eventually both Webby and Violet reached the McDuck Manor first, and they silently sneaked in. Webby took out her grappler and climbed to the second floor, dragging Violet along. Suddenly, they heard a familiar voice inside the manor.

"Aah, okay, it's been 20 minutes."

"That's Lena!" Webby exclaimed. "She did release the shark at that time... I'm sure Magica was so cruel to her..."

"Webby, it's alright, none of it was any of you guys' fault." Violet tried to comfort her.

"Let me show you how it's done. Truth." Lena in the room said.

"Okay. What's your deepest, darkest secret?" Webby in there asked.

"I regretted ask her that, if I have known what she came through in the first place. I felt so, so bad." Webby sobbed a little.

"Webby, don't forget, she's in better hands now." Violet said. "She has us, Scrooge McDuck's triplet, my fathers! There's no need for you to worry about the past now."

"Yeah, you're right." Webby replied, stopped crying. "We should just-"

The door slammed inside there and emerged Huey and Louie. They were both shirtless - and while Huey was panting, Louie reenacted the scene that they both saw.

"Dewey was eaten by a magical money shark in the bin!" Webby gasped. Lena looked at her weirdly. "What! I'm really good at charades."

"Well, that explained how WE won that first round." Violet chuckled, nudging Webby a little bit.

"Let's call up the triplet. It's not gonna long until me, the triplet, Lena and Launchpad get to the Bin." Webby said.

Huey, Dewey and Louie were all waiting for the call, and it came. "Guys, get ready, all of them are coming to the Bin. We'll get there shortly. End."

"Roger that, Webby. End." Huey said.

They met up and soon went to the back of the building. Webby climbed to the top to observe the whole situation, when suddenly she saw a group of people on the bridge, surprisingly not what she expected.

"Guys... we got company." Webby said on the earpiece.

"Blimey, what are you lads and lasses are doing at the Money Bin?" Scrooge asked.

"Uncle Scrooge?"

"You lads and lasses got me worried." Scrooge continued. "But you are safe, and that's what matters."

"Anyways, we heard about Lena's situation." Della went on. "Boys, if she has this kind of condition, you MUST tell me. Am I clear on this?"

"Yes, Mum." The triplet replied.

"I'm sure by now you guys figured out that this was when I summoned the magical shark following Magica's order." Lena said. "So, your operation will now have a lot more people."

"Wait, if there's so many people here, who's guarding our hostel rooms?" Huey asked.

"Don't worry lad." Scrooge replied. "Gyro and Donald got it cover."

They then all proceeded to be in their designated position when they saw Launchpad crashed the plane to the Money Bin. Lena used her magic to turn everyone invisible, and they silently went to the Money Bin.

"Mr. McDuck, I just wanted to say in advance that I'm sorry about this catastrophe-" Lena began.

"Nonsense!" Scrooge interrupted. "Don't make things in the past be a burden inside you, lass. What matters now is that you have us."

Lena happily nodded, and they went inside the Money Bin for some thorough investigation.

"This magical shark is attracted to the Number One Dime-" Huey said, then realised immediately what would go wrong. "Uncle Scrooge! You can't keep your Number One Dime, it will snatch it from you!"

"Curse me kilts, why is it always me?" Scrooge replied, then gave it to Lena. She casted a protection charm on the dime that would prevent the magical shark's energy from getting to it. She then gave it back to Scrooge.

"Here you go, Mr. McDuck."

"Thank you, Lena." Scrooge replied, tucking the dime back to his pocket. "Now-"

As he was speaking, the magical shark busted out of the Money Bin. "There goes the money." Scrooge said.

They all went outside to see this reality's version of Scrooge, who was clearly trying to obtain back his money. Scrooge facepalmed, quite disappointed in his former self, while Lena was investigating on the situation at the bridge.

"Vi, Webby, come with me." Lena ordered. "We have something to do after this."

The triplet were documenting the whole incident - they could hear a conversation inside the shark.

oOo

"Why'd you save me? I thought you were mad of me!" Lena asked.

"We're friends, you beautiful idiot! I don't care what you did!" Webby replied.

They exchanged a smile, but Webby lost her grip and fell to the magical shark's throat.

"Webby!"

Lena took a leap and used her amulet just when Magica was about to take the dime.

"With the power of my amulet, I bring about the magical shark's end!"

The magical shark exploded into bits of coins, while everyone there dropped to the ground. Lena could be seen hugging Webby. She shook her head and stopped glowing pink.

"Looks like someone's a hugger after all." Webby said.

"It's just me saving you." Lena replied. "Doesn't change the fact that I don't do hugs."

They chuckled and stood up together.

oOo

Back in the abandoned amphitheatre, Lena was having a conversation with Magica - who was still a shadow at that time.

"You had the dime in your grasp!" Magica yelled.

"No, your crazy shark had the dime in its throat, so excuse me if I didn't want to be eaten!" Lena argued back.

"You would've probably survived! But you cared more about your stupid 'friends' than you did about your own family!"

"Your shark was out of control." Lena continued. "The dime does neither of us any good if I'm dead. I had no choice."

"You had a choice, and you chose wrong!" Magica lectured. "You're not supposed to think. You're supposed to follow orders."

Lena suddenly went quiet, as if she didn't want to argue anymore. Magica was taken aback by this. After a while, she spoke.

"Alright, fine, I'm sorry." Lena replied. "But hear me out, it wasn't as if saving her was worthless."

Magica was quite surprised. "What do you have in mind?"

"I've been keeping track of her ever since we met here." Lena said. "Let's get down here, I'll show you."

They went underground, and she showed Magica her journal.

"I've documented Webbigail and her grandmother more than you might think." Lena began. "Turns out she isn't just a regular granddaughter of a housekeeper."

"Then what is she?" Magica urged.

"From the very beginning I've noticed her parents' absence and Beakley's lack of detail on them." Lena replied. "That small detail can prove one thing, that she isn't the granddaughter that the housekeeper wants us to believe. Scrooge got deceived, those boys got deceived. Not one of them figured that out."

"Interesting." Magica said. "So you plan to use that girl against Clan McDuck, isn't it?"

"Aunt Magica, Aunt Magica," Lena chuckled. "if I tell you everything about my plan, it will lose the element of surprise. I only need your patience. Oh, and you'll definitely getting that Number One Dime from Scrooge McDuck."

"Alright then, dear Lena, I forgive you." Magica added, laughing. "FINALLY, WITH MY NIECE'S MASTER PLAN, I COULD TAKE MY GRIM VENGEANCE ON CLAN MCDUCK! MUAHAHAHAHA!"

"And one more thing." Lena said. Magica turned back. "Tomorrow I have something to do, to prove my theory."

"What is it, dear?" Magica asked. Lena was quite uncomfortable with the new way Magica was calling her, but decided to reply nonetheless.

"I'm going to Funso's Fun Zone."

oOo

"And that's what me and Vi documented." Huey finished the documentation.

"I need to go see Webbigail now." Mrs. Beakley said. Her face was visibly uncomfortable after hearing the documentation. "Under no circumstance should anyone follow me."

She immediately went out of the room with everyone confused on what just happened.

"Lena is comforting Webbigail right now, as both of them knew that this reality doesn't represent our Lena." Violet continued.

"Looks like we have more to worry here, everyone." Scrooge declared. "Donald, it's time to commence a heist."

Donald understood, and he left the room.

"Huey, Dewey, Louie." Scrooge said. "You and Della are going to pack every materials necessary for boat maintenance and spy gadgets. Do this immediately."

Della nodded and soon dragged her kids back to her room, getting ready for their part.

"Violet, tell Lena and Webby that you three are going to take note on this version of Lena." Scrooge said. "I know that something is odd when I see one. Please do not let her or Magica see you three in plain sight, we're not risking that."

Violet saluted, and left the room instantly.

"Launchpad and Gyro, you need to build a plane that has room for four people to occupy."

Without replying, Gyro and Launchpad left the room immediately.

"This adventure is not going to be safe." Scrooge muttered. "We're going to need everyone's spirit and make sure to work together now."

oOo

Webby was still crying. Despite every effort made by Lena to make sure she feel the comfort she needed, words she heard just then sunk too deep on her chest. Was I not related to Granny? Is this even real?

Mrs. Beakley busted in the door. "Webbigail, we need to talk. Privately."

"Yes, Granny." Webby sobbed, but still she stood up and followed her grandmother.

Just then, Violet went in, and saw Lena being quite distressed.

"Are you alright, sis?" She approached and ask.

"No, Vi, I'm not alright." Lena replied. "That wasn't me. The temptation for power and control... that's just wasn't me. How was that possible?"

"Hey, sis, calm down." Violet said. "Mr. McDuck told me that it was very odd for this version of you to act like that, and he needs us to solve it. Together."

"Vi, I'm just- what if I become what she became here?" Lena asked. "What if I become the person I have sworn to defend against? What if that's the case? I'll be left alone again, with no one to protect me, with me being vulnerable, I- I-" She burst into tears, burying her face on Violet's shirt.

"It's going to be alright, sis. Just let it go." Violet comforted.

oOo

"I have something to tell you, Webby." Mrs. Beakley said, holding Webby's arms. "You can be mad at me all you want, because for the past 11 years, I've been trying to protect you from this specific detail. At first I thought it was better if I didn't tell you, but now that you saw it right in front of your eyes, I couldn't just hide from you again."

"Tell me, Granny." Webby simply replied.

"It was my final mission at S.H.U.S.H. to defeat F.O.W.L. once and for all. The fight was coming to an end as most F.O.W.L. agents were leaving the base in desperation. Just when I was about to leave, I saw that they left behind a baby. I was worried that the baby would be used for their future evil schemes, so I took her along with me. I came to Mr. McDuck's doorstep to become his housekeeper and finally retire as an agent, to raise you." Mrs. Beakley paused for a moment, then she continued. "My encounter with you has to be one of the best days in my entire life, which is why I would never, never hide anything from you if it wasn't for the background behind your birth. I won't ask for your forgiveness, my dear, but what I want to ask you is to never stray into the dark path you were designated to be. Everyone changed as life progresses, and so that will be the only thing I would like to ask from you, Webby."

Webby was trying to take all the information in. She first showed anger, then confusion, then distress, then completely burst out crying. Mrs. Beakley came and hugged her.

"I'm sorry, Webby. I'm so, so, sorry..."

oOo

At midnight, Scrooge met up with Donald, Gyro and Launchpad.

"Launchpad, start the engine." Scrooge ordered. "We're going to the Manor."

"To do what, Uncle Scrooge?" Donald asked.

"We're going to take the boat on the pool." Scrooge said. "Obviously we can't just take it and let it be, so I brought Gyro here to ensure that the boat will be multiply."

"The physics of this reality is very different to our reality, so I have gathered materials that are available here to create the Double-O-Everything laser gun, which can work with anything in this reality."

"It's still in testing preparation." Scrooge continued. "I need you to use it with extreme caution, is that clear Gyro?"

"Yes, Mr. McDuck." Gyro replied.

"We have arrived." Scrooge said.

Dark, cold and ominous. The only three words that could describe the mood at the McDuck Manor.

"Let's get going." Donald said.

"Wait, Donald." Scrooge said, stopping Donald from jumping down. "We can't let you take... yourself out of the boat."

Gyro volunteered and he silently took the Donald that was sleeping in the boat to the pool.

"We're good, Mr. McDuck." Gyro said on the earpiece. "Now, to duplicate it..."

He used the laser gun and shot on the boat. The laser stayed for a while - then a new boat slowly emerged from the original boat. It was a success.

"Looks like I didn't misplace my trust on inventions after all." Scrooge commented.

Just then, the duplicated boat exploded and caught on fire. Scrooge and Donald facepalmed.

"Launchpad, get the ladder for Gyro to go up and take the boat on the left. We have to go before this Donald wakes up." Scrooge said, quite disappointed.

They took the original boat and made their way to the coast.

"Everyone, meet me on Duckburg's coast."

oOo

It was 3 in the morning, but they all came.

"I need sleep..." Louie groaned.

"Stop it, Louie." Huey interrupted. "This is more important."

"Della, did you bring boat maintenance materials?" Scrooge asked.

Della nodded and showed him all the materials.

"Great. Gyro, go ahead and use these materials to extend the boat. This will be where we stay from now on, at least until we can leave this reality for good."

"I'm already sick of it." Dewey said. "Weird stuff happens here more frequently."

Huey, however, was worried about the method they were going to get home, so he asked Gyro.

"Are you going to replicate a Ramrod?" Huey nervously asked.

"Hat nephew, as concerned as you are, this is the only way." Gyro replied. "However, I will make sure that it will only go to a certain destination, which is our reality."

Huey felt a bit better, but still couldn't drive his concern away.

"Promise me that you wouldn't become... her." Webby said.

"I promised, Pink." Lena replied. "Because of you, Vi, and everyone around me, I will never do that."

They hugged each other, and went to the boat.

"Lass, can you cast an invisibility charm to our boat?" Scrooge asked.

"It won't be permanent, Mr. McDuck." Lena replied. "The charm lasts for only 48 hours, and it will drain a lot of my energy."

"I see... If that bothers you, I'll try my best to find an alternative." Scrooge said. "About what you experienced... don't worry about it, lass. You are safe whenever you have us by your side."

"Thank you, Mr. McDuck."

Gyro finished repairing and extending the boat, and they all went to sleep.

oOo

Lena was all alone. Without Violet. Without Webby. Without Scrooge McDuck and his family.

She approached to the blank room, facing with... herself.

"You can't escape from what you actually are. I am you."
