There's really nothing to talk much before we move on to Chapter 3, but to anyone that are wondering about the fate of the rewritten arc for Duckburg's Downfall, I'll do an update about it now.
Unfortunately, as the whole story is still poorly written and inconsistency still being a major problem, Duckburg's Downfall will have Chapter 6 as the finale for the fanfiction. After that, I planned to release a spin-off for this fanfiction, which will be through the perspective of the reality Scrooge and his family travelled through instead of their perspective (which is what this fanfiction is about).
Oh, and a quick note, from this chapter forward, characters inside Earth-DT66 that appeared with an identical character in Earth-DT44 will have this - ' ' - quotation marks. For example Lena in Earth-DT44 will be known as Lena, while Lena in Earth-DT66 will be known as 'Lena'.
With that out of the way, enjoy Chapter 3: Shattered and Heartbroken.

Lena woke up, panting and all sweaty. A dream it was. But that fact couldn't help on what she experienced.

Dark.

Cold.

Alone.

Every single thing she could prevent by being with the Sabrewing household and adventuring with the McDuck family came altogether. The fight she had to anticipate to remove it from her mind was... herself. Herself, and only her own. A struggle that she kept for the past twelve years, now came back in just one single dream. Something far worse was coming to her, and she couldn't bear to do it alone, by herself.

Webby woke up and noticed what happened. "Hey, Lena, you alright there?"

Lena just shook her head.

"It's the same thing for me really." Webby continued. "I dreamt about how I would become a tool for F.O.W.L., going against everyone I loved for a long time... Sometimes you can't bear a dark possibility in your life."

"Pink, I'm more worried on losing you." Lena replied. "You're the only light throughout Magica's enslavement on my body, my mind. You showed me how I always have to prevail and fight for the right cause. You already can't bear losing me to the Shadow Realm once again. I can't bear seeing you disappear too."

They hugged and soon went out to dock for a walk.

"Sunset." Lena chuckled. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

"Wha- I thought you hate sunset!" Webby was surprised.

"Pink, you know I wouldn't tell you my true feelings at that time, right?" Lena replied.

They laughed and watched as the sun rose up.

"Two teams, different locations, one mission." Scrooge concluded. "Am I clear on this?"

Everyone saluted.

"Great. Launchpad, stay with Gyro. Guard him from anything that could prevent us from going back to our reality."

"Yes, Mr. McDee!" Launchpad replied, then turned to Gyro. "So what am I doing again?"

"Teams, let's go!"

oOo

"Mr Duckfaster, where would you want to go today?" The cab driver asked.

"To McDuck Manor, please." Scrooge replied. "I have an important business appointment there."

"I'm afraid I can only park outside of the gate." He said. "Would you mind?"

Scrooge assured that it would be fine, and they began their journey. The initial plan for Team A was to snuck into McDuck Enterprises, and by using the newly-made Time-Twister and Sleeping Pills from Gyro, they could freeze time and put their counterparts of this reality to short-term sleeping.

Well, everything worked, except...

"Uncle Scrooge?" Della said. "The Time-Twister is acting up, we gotta get those pills on them fast!"

"Hand me over the pills." Donald said, grabbing the box. "I'll do the rest."

They didn't have much time. Rushing away from the Manor, they panted as they finally reached the Money Bin. Scrooge was back to his boring, business-like face. They were about to went in.

"Wait, Della." Scrooge said, suddenly turning back. "These vultures are completely nuts, they are going to know if something is up. You can't get in with us."

"What do you mean-" Della began.

"Listen, Della." Donald said. "The subsequent events you got told of were news to you because you were on the moon, which meant that they will notice that Scrooge already saved his niece. It will bring to their attention, and we don't want F.O.W.L. in this reality to strike first, do we?"

"I totally get it." Della replied. "I'll just hang in around."

Donald sighed. "How about this? Go check on the kids and come along with them. Maybe you'll get to do something with the boys, Webby, Lena and Violet, not just standing there and doing nothing."

"Oh, Don, you're the best." Della said, hugging him. "I'll check on the kids alright."

"I'm glad." Donald replied, and Della immediately headed back toward the coast. He turned to Scrooge. "Let's go!"

They went in, and Scrooge looked at his watch. Just in time.

"Greetings, Mr. McDuck." Bradford said, the same tone as ever before. "I'm quite surprised you attended our meeting... rather early today. May I ask why is your nephew here today?"

"He's here to beg me some space on my Manor." Scrooge calmly replied. "I couldn't just let him wreck the house, so I brought him here. He won't be in the room for today anyways."

"Hey-" Donald began to argue.

"Don't. Blow. The. Cover." Scrooge clenched his teeth. Donald immediately went silent.

"Another business meeting. What could possibly go wrong this time?" Scrooge casually made his remark.

Bradford was looking at Scrooge, narrowing his eyes. Donald however looked at Bradford impulsively, as if he was going to kill him. Scrooge pulled him out before he even started to channel his anger, and explained that his temper was very narrow today.

"Donald, I'm not going to ask you again!" Scrooge hastily lectured. "Control your anger! I know you're mad that he leads F.O.W.L. but make up your common sense! We're not in the present of our reality, we're in the past of a completely different reality! Make up your mind for once, Donald!"

Donald reluctantly agreed to stay out of this business talk. Scrooge and the vultures went inside.

"Since the money shark incident, our shares in the market have been declined sharply, and is causing a lot of divisions and sub-brands to work less efficiently. I suggested we cut funds for-"

"Are you vultures gone daft?" Scrooge asked. "Bradford, never once have I hear you say anything about investing on potential ventures, or even just an innovational idea that could prove to increase our shares in the market. You know what Glomgold did to get his way, he stole the ideas and still make a profit out of it. Why don't we acquire the licence to generate revenue for those products legally, while also buying out shares from small companies that bring great promises?"

"Mr. McDuck, I'm afraid that-" Bradford tried to interrupt.

"Bradford, you're speaking completely nonsense!" Scrooge retaliated on the statement. "Don't you see the potential? We have always been holding monopolies on certain markets, and now with us investing on competitive markets, it will only bring further success! What good is there on cutting expense when we are a multi-trillion dollar company?"

"Your adventure is the main source of expense, Mr. McDuck." Bradford replied angrily. "If you just won't-"

Bradford's phone rang.

"Director Buzzard, you must get to Funso's immediately." The caller said. "We have an emergency."

He immediately hung up. "Mr. McDuck, I have some important affairs to visit in St. Canard." Bradford said, shifting his tone immediately. "Pleasure to have you on this meeting."

"Yes, pleasure to have you too... Bradford." Scrooge replied, slightly narrowing his eyes.

The vultures quickly left and Donald emerged.

"Call up the boys and the girls." Scrooge told Donald. "He's definitely heading to Funso's."

oOo

"Copy that, Uncle Scrooge. We just arrived. End." Della called back on the earpiece.

"We have to move a bit quicker now." Lena said. "This is not what was supposed to happen, and we can't expect anything expected to happen. Time to split up!"

Della and the triplet went to the corner, while Webby, Lena and Violet adjusted themselves to the ceiling.

"Here comes Lena and... me?"

The entrance emerged Louie and Lena with their respective familiar clothing - Louie with his green hoodie and his hair brushed to the side; Lena with her usual teal collared shirt with a black gray-striped long-sleeved shirt and light green laced shoes. The gang overheard the entire conversation.

"Did you tell any of them?" 'Lena' asked.

'Louie' shook his head.

"Great, here's twenty dollars." 'Lena' took out the twenty dollar bill and gave it to Louie. "But you must keep your promise."

"Please, Miss Le Strange, I only con my family, I would never con a promise with someone else." 'Louie' smirked.

"Why was I so delusional about money at that time?"

"Be quiet, Louie." Huey said. "Your wallowing might just blow our cover at any time."

They approached to the ball pit while Della and the triplet slowly followed the trail.

"Just like I told you when we texted." 'Lena' said. "This ball pit is all mine to enjoy, and no one else."

"And no Webby?" 'Louie' casually asked. "That ain't sound like the Lena I know." He chuckled a bit.

"Sometimes I need to be alone." 'Lena' casually answered.

"Whatever you say, I'll do the guarding."

Lena immediately went to the ball pit.

"Alright, Webby, Violet, Lena, follow that Lena's trail. We'll follow suit. End." Huey whispered on the earpiece.

"Copy that, Hubert. End." Violet whispered back.

Lena casted an invisibility charm on the gang, and soon they went down to the ball pit - unbeknownst to the Louie that was guarding the ball pit.

"We're pretty much here... I guess." Lena said.

"There she is!" Webby exclaimed.

They soon tiptoed their steps toward where the other Lena was heading - when they realised this exact room was none other than the F.O.W.L. Commanding Centre.

"We really need to split up once again." Della whispered.

Whatever the reason was - they need to, there was really no other way. The gang followed Della's instruction and respectively made an ambush plan in case something happened.

Everyone watched as they saw 'Lena' looked around the large room quickly, then silently sat down. To the right emerged Bradford Buzzard, with Buford and Bentley accompanied him.

"Ah yes, Miss Le Strange - we have been expecting you." Bradford made his remark casually - although that was what made him extremely dangerous. For the past few years the vultures had been the Board of Directors for McDuck Enterprises, kept Scrooge in check and prevented him from adventuring ever again. No one could ever believed that their operation began for ages before the Ramrod. "Or should I call you Miss De Spell, since the other name is just a placeholder?"

"How did you know-"

"I know. I simply know." Bradford interrupted, once again in a very casual way - as if he disregarded the puzzled look from both Lena and Magica. "Especially since we have a common target: Scrooge McDuck."

Bradford clapped his hands, and the other two vultures immediately retreated.

"Bradford isn't just a normal villain. He's a criminal mastermind!" Huey exclaimed.

"Keep it down, Red." Lena shushed. "You're gonna blow our cover!"

"As I was saying, Miss De Spell-" Bradford began.

"To hell with Miss De Spell thing. Just call me Lena."

"Lena it is." Bradford replied. He chuckled a bit. "I'm honestly surprised that your Aunt Magica is also here with us." As he said those words, Magica immediately appeared from Lena's shadow.

"Is it Bradford?" Magica asked. "I'm honestly amazed to see his Board of Directors being his greatest enemies. Now, I would be glad to have you supporting my plot-"

"I'm sorry, Magica, but that has to be settled later." Bradford interrupted, obviously uninterested on the offer. After all, he's a businessman, not a contractor for villains. "I only expect myself to talk with Lena today. After all, we both... had something in common."

"What exactly do you mean by that-"

"Oh, you know exactly why you came here." Bradford smirked. "You wanted to talk to me about Agent 22's granddaughter."

"I'm supposed you're talking about Webby, which will be exactly why I came here." 'Lena' replied.

"I'll answer everything you wanted to know, under one condition."

"What's the condition?"

"That Magica De Spell will not listen to any of our conversation." Bradford said seriously.

Magica immediately argued about how she would hear the whole conversation anyways, but Bradford retaliated in a very dangerous tone.

"I beg to differ, Magica, because I have met dozens of villains that are way more dangerous than you are, and they decided that they will join forces with me." Bradford narrowed his eyes, then continued. "Unless you wanted that door over there to shock you shadow figures to death, feel free to snoop around and listen everything that we're going to say."

Magica reluctantly agreed. She wouldn't risk this form to not enact her sweet revenge on Scrooge McDuck anyways.

'Lena' and Bradford went inside. Della seized this chance to sneak in - which they initially argued about.

"Kids, this is far more dangerous than anything you could have think of." Della lectured sternly. "We'll talk more once this is finished."

oOo

A few moments later, 'Lena', Bradford and Della went out - 'Lena' looked bright, and even a bit happy. Too happy about something. Bradford was still smirking at Magica, which was enough to annoy the shadow. However, it was Della that looked devastated after entering that room. She looked pale and in fact, quite traumatised.

"Mum... what's wrong?"

"Let's go home." Della plainly said.

"Mum, just tell us-"

"I SAID, WE GO HOME!" Della yelled. They went silent and marched away quickly.

oOo

Scrooge was getting worried. His niece hadn't been respond to his messages through the earpiece, nor did she send him a cryptic message in case of emergency. Donald was getting worried about his sister too, but decided he was going to comfort Scrooge a bit.

"Look, Uncle Scrooge... Della's gonna be alright. She made her way back to us with her determination, and she fought alongside with us during the Lunaris invasion! No one has been going through more than Della Duck! You just have to trust your gut this time."

Scrooge got concerned at the mixed message, but decided to cool down nonetheless. Just then...

"Mr. McDuck, it's Lena. We're heading back to the boat in a few moments."

"That's good, that's good lass." Scrooge softened a bit.

"Della has something to talk to you when we get there though..."

His expression immediately changed and he started to get even more and more nervous. "What is it about?"

The line went disconnected and soon he saw the triplet, Webby, Violet and Lena landing down - and a Della that was clearly distressed.

"Uncle Scrooge, we have to talk." Della said, not looking at Scrooge.

"Lass, what is it, let's just take it easy-"

"We are going to talk, NOW!" Della angrily interrupted. "Kids, get back to your rooms in the houseboat this instant!"

The kids didn't argue, knowing when Della went mad, she could be extremely dangerous. After she made sure none of them was going to snoop around, she returned to Scrooge's direction.

"No one asked for it."

"Lass, what do you mean no one asked for it?" Scrooge was confused.

"I SAID, NO ONE ASKED FOR IT! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO RISK EVERYONE IN LINE, FOR YOUR INSANELY DANGEROUS ENCOUNTERS WITH THESE PEOPLE, TO THEN LET THEM TARGET YOUR ASS OFF AND LITERALLY MADE OUR FAMILY SHATTER?"

"Della, you're talking nonsense!" Scrooge got taken aback. "Of course I made enemies along the way, but not once did I let anyone in our family get in danger! You out of everyone should know this!"

"Oh yeah? Have you care about your OWN?" Della retaliated.

Scrooge stopped, knowing what she said was right. Throughout all his past and present adventures, not once did he care about his own safety. But he argued with himself, saying that it was the best for this family, him risking himself was still better than being selfish. So he said just that to Della.

"Lass, what I cared the most is this family - it's this family that made me the humble person that I am now. After many years separated with Donald, I should have known better. I have been trying my best - I really am, and if it does not satisfy you then I don't know what to say anymore, dear."

The word 'satisfy' was the last straw for Della. "Scrooge McDuck, adventure capitalist, uncle of my three children in this family, did you know that you have a daughter all along?"

Silence. Even Donald couldn't believe it.

"No. Della." Scrooge trembled, his voice sounded broken to the core. "It cannae be her..."

Della was sobbing. Tears began to trickle on her face as she nodded, much to Scrooge's disbelief.

"But... but how?"

"She was a F.O.W.L. clone that was made to help those goons undo what you did to the Papyrus of Binding! She was made from you to have that exact purpose!"

Scrooge went silent. A deadly silence. Then he reached for his cane, shaking his head. Della and Donald gasped, unable to believe what they saw.

"Uncle Scrooge... why?"

Webby had listened to the entire conversation. She was now full of tears, her heart shattered and broken. That visible disapproval of accepting the truth from Scrooge McDuck was the last thing that drove Webby from the line.

"No, Webby, it wasn't like that-"

She burst out and went to the houseboat's attic. Della and Donald ran to the room and gave Scrooge one last disappointing look. Scrooge collapsed, heartbroken, words couldn't come to his mouth. Twelve years letting his colleague and her supposed granddaughter to stay at the Manor, only now to know the truth that she was a F.O.W.L. creation broke him away from anything. There was nothing now but silence.

Yesssssss, I have finally finished Chapter 3! I'm planning on a 5-chapter spin-off on this story (title is Shattered) and the first three chapters will release in one single day (Chapter 4 and 5 will have major spoilers to this main fanfic, so it's best not to publish it yet). Once again, like I said at the beginning, Duckburg's Downfall is ending, and I will completely focus on this fanfic and the spin-off from herein. I appreciated every support for my fanfics - and a review now would be awesome! Please stay tuned!
Also I'm not planning to end this fanfic anytime soon :) it was much more fun!
