Makoto was standing in front of the full-length mirror in his bedroom. He was wearing black trousers and a white shirt.

Makoto was heading back to Hope's Peak for the first time in three years. Jin had invited Makoto and Kyoko to the school. For Makoto, it was to see about the job Jin had offered him. Kyoko, meanwhile, was invited for a catch-up.

"Looking good, Makoto," he said to himself. Then Makoto began to hear one of the babies cry. "Oh, father duties call!"

Makoto left the bedroom and headed downstairs and walked into the living room to find two months old Emilia, who was crying, but the young baby was in the arms of her mother.

"There there," Junko said quietly. "Mummy is here, Emi."

Makoto walked over and saw Kira happily sleeping away in his cot. He let out a sigh and grateful it wasn't his son that was crying.

"I know that sigh," Junko said as she swung her body left and right in an attempt to get Emilia back to sleep. "You're glad that Kira isn't crying, yeah?"

"Kyoko has become unbearable," Makoto said, shaking his head. "She has become too protective of Kira."

"Umm, hello, I know that very well!" Junko replied, annoyed. "Her mother instants have gone into overdrive." Emilia slowly stopped crying and fell back to sleep. Junko gently put her daughter into the cot and began to shake her head. "Honesty, I never knew Babe had such a side to her."

"I guess we still surprise each other," Makoto replied as he watched over his two children. "I'll talk to her when we go to Hope's Peak."

"You better!" Junko said, annoyed.

Kirumi walked into the room and noticed the tension in the room. Kirumi was kept on as the family maid, but her working days were cut from five days a week to three. Kirumi was still happy; she still had a job, and she had plenty to do with the extra clothes in the washing basket thanks to the two babies.

"Master, Mistress, have I come at a bad time?" Kirumi asked.

"No, Tojo, what is it?" Junko asked.

"I'm going to put the kettle on, would you like tea?"

Junko's face turned into a smile. "Oh yeah, thanks, Tojo, I could do with a cuppa!"

Kirumi smiled for a few seconds and bowed, then walked away.

The moment of peace didn't last long as Kira woke up and began to cry.

Makoto picked up his son and began to calm him down. Meanwhile, Junko closed her eyes as she knew what was about to happen.

Kyoko ran into the room and ended up to close to Makoto for his liking. "Is our son fine?" Kyoko asked quickly.

"Yes, Kyoko, he is fine. Can you calm down!" Makoto replied.

Kyoko shook her head. "I knew I shouldn't have left to have some breakfast."

Junko opened her eyes, then rolled them and walked out of the room.

"Kyoko, I asked you to calm down," Makoto said again. "You don't need to panic. Everyone is here."

"But Kira is MY son! I must ensure he is okay."

"Kira is my son too. Do you not trust me to look after our child?" Makoto said, somewhat upset.

"That's not what I meant…"

"Then leave me to deal with this. You go and finish whatever you were doing, and then we can leave."

"About that," Kyoko replied, then paused for a few seconds. "I've told my father, I've changed my mind, and I won't be going to Hope's Peak."

Makoto's eyes lit up with disbelief. "When? You are all dressed and ready to go."

"A few seconds ago, before Kira began to cry."

Makoto began to shake his head. "You are coming with me! If you like it or not. You need time away from Kira."

Makoto walked out of the living with Kira, still crying in his arms.

"I will not leave!" Kyoko said, tightening her fists. "Kira needs his mother!"

Junko walked back into the living room with a cup of tea in her hands. She put the cup down on the coffee table as Makoto walked back into the room with Kira now calmed down.

"Hey, Babe!" Junko said, looking at Kyoko.

"What?" Kyoko replied.

"If you don't go with Sweetheart, he and I are banning you from sex for a full week. No ifs, no buts. Your attitude since Kira was born has been outright annoying and painful! Please go and leave Kira to Tojo and me. You need time away from Kira."

"Don't tell me how I should or shouldn't act around my son!" Kyoko snarled.

Makoto and Junko looked at Kyoko is horror while Kyoko herself was mortified in how she replied.

"I'm sorry," Kyoko said, and she turned around to hide her shame. "I didn't mean to reply like that."

"Babe," Junko said softly. "You need to be more laid back, like me. You're far too uptight, and you've allowed Kira's grandparents to look after him for ONE night. Geez, Sweetheart had to argue with you to let that even happen. Not even your own father has had a chance to look after Kira. Is it so wrong for other people to look after your child so you can get a night off and enjoy a bit of freedom?"

"I have a fear something bad will happen," Kyoko sighed. "That's why I NEED to be there for my child because it's my duty as his-"

"Cut the duty crap, Babe!" Junko snapped. "Do you think Kira wants an overbearing mother? No, of course not!" Junko walked over to Makoto and took Kira out of his arms. "Sweetheart, go and take Babe. She is doing my head in!"

"Kyoko let's go, and I will not be taking no for an answer," Makoto said, looking at Kyoko.

Kyoko slowly turned around and saw Junko holding Kira, who was quiet now.

"Fine, I will text every 10 minutes. I expect an update, Junko!" Kyoko said firmly as she walked forward, kissed Kira on the forehead, and then walked out of the living.

"10 minutes if she bloody-" Junko said, but she stopped when Makoto whispered something to her ear.

10 minutes later

Makoto was driving as Kyoko sat in the passenger seat. The latter was looking at her phone.

"Lovely weather, isn't it?" Makoto said.

"Yes, it is," Kyoko mumbled back.

"I love summer. I can't believe it's nearly the end of June," Makoto replied. "I wonder why your father asked me to come and see him now. You would think it would be better if I met him next month as the school is ready to pack up for the summer?"

"Maybe because the PR guy is busy right until he retires? I don't know, honestly," Kyoko said as she began to text Junko.

Makoto saw this. "Kyoko, can you hold off in texting Junko until we reach the school?"

Kyoko raised her head to look at her husband. "Why?" She asked puzzled.

"Because I want to see what you write to her. I am Kira's father, remember?"

Kyoko shook her head and locked her phone. "Fine." Then she turned her head to the passenger window. "I wonder how many teachers are still there?"

"I think we will see a lot, from our time at school. I mean, it's only been three years since we left. I can't see a lot of changes happening."

There were a few minutes of silence as the pair reached Hope's Peak Adacmy's car park.

"Makoto, did you have any crushes on the female teachers?" Kyoko asked, looking at him.

"Huh?" Makoto said, shocked. "Where did that come from?"

"Because I never considered until now you might have had an eye in a teacher while Junko and I were fighting over you. Plus, young students find female teachers hot, if I'm not mistaken?"

"Oh right, Nah, none of the teachers caught my eye, although I did find one cute, I guess."

"Who?" Kyoko said, amused.

"Oh, what was her name again? Oh, Yukizome, I believe her name was."

"Koizumi old teacher?" Kyoko replied, surprised.

"Sounds about right," Makoto said. "What about you? Did you have any crushes on the male teachers?"

"What do you think?" Kyoko said, raising her eyebrow.

Makoto rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Ok, yeah, that was a dumb question from me. All you had your eyes on were me."

"Indeed, now can I text Junko now?"

Makoto had finished parking the car. "No, wait until we get out of the car." Then he got out.

Kyoko got out of the car, and she saw Makoto walk over to her. She unlocked her phone and began to text Junko, but her phone was swiped out of her hands.

"Hey, what the fuck!" Kyoko growled. "Give me back my phone now!"

"No," Makoto said firmly. "I will be keeping your phone until we are done here." He sild Kyoko's phone into his trouser pocket along with the car keys. "This is our alone time, Kyoko. Let's enjoy it. Come on, let's go."

Makoto began to walk towards the school, but Kyoko didn't.

"I'm not moving until you give me my phone back!" Kyoko demanded.

"Fine, stand there," Makoto said as he kept walking.

Kyoko craved in very quickly and walked quickly to be at Makoto's side. "I hate you."

"Yeah, well, you won't be saying that when Junko and I are having sex, and you won't."

Makoto and Kyoko walked into the school's reception area and found Jin waiting for them.

"Makoto," Jin smiled. "Kyoko? I thought you said you weren't coming?"

Kyoko turned away in a huff.

"Junko and I forced Kyoko to come," Makoto said. "Also, I've just taken her phone off her because she was going to text Junko every 10 minutes for updates about Kira."

"Kyoko," Jin said, shaking his head. "I must apologies, Makoto."

"For what?" Makoto replied, surprised.

"I got my dates mixed up. Your predecessor isn't in today. He is out of school for business."

'Oh, father,' Kyoko thought.

"That's fine," Makoto smiled. "I could do with a small catch up with the school and meet up with the other members of staff."

"Sounds like a plan," Jin nodded. "Some of the board members are still floating around. We can start with them first."

"Headmaster," Said a female at the reception desk. "I have a phone call for you."

Jin let out a sigh. "Tell them to wait for 30 seconds while I run to my office. Makoto, Kyoko, come and see me when you are done talking to the board members."

Jin ran down the corridor and out of sight.

The female spoke to the person on the phone while sliding visiting passes to Makoto and Kyoko along the desk.

The couple put the passes on their clothes, and they went on their way.

"Geez, this takes me back," Makoto said, looking around. "Now, where is the board room again?"

Kyoko didn't reply.

"Are you going to be in a bad mood with me in a time like this?" Makoto said, somewhat annoyed.

"Give me back my phone, and then things can go back to normal," Kyoko replied.

Makoto ignored her, but soon they found a big room they saw a male and a female sitting at a table.

"Ah, that must be it," Makoto said. He knocked on the door and opened it, and entered with Kyoko following close behind.

"Oh hello," a female said as she stood up, as did another female. "You must be the new PR guy, yeah?"

"That's me," Makoto said, offering out his hand.

The woman walked over and was about to shake Makoto's hand. Then her phone began to ring. She rushed back over to the table and picked up her phone.

"Oh shoot, I need to take this, sorry," the woman said, and she grabbed her stuff and ran out of the room.

"So you're the Headmaster's son in law?" Said the male who was wearing a white suit.

"Yip, that's me," Makoto said, walking to the man sticking out his hand. "Makoto Naegi."

The man folded his arms and looked at Makoto disapprovingly. "You're a waste."

"Huh?" Makoto said, stunned.

Kyoko, meanwhile, walked up and stood next to Makoto. "Do you want to say that again!"

"Ah, Kyoko Kirigiri, the Headmaster's daughter. So you are the one who got your husband the PR job. What a joke. People should apply to get jobs at this school on skill and talent, not family connections."

"Who do you think you are?" Kyoko growled.

"Kyosuke Munakata," he replied. "Tell me something, Naegi, have you ever worked at a school before or even a PR job for that matter?"

"No, I haven't," Makoto replied.

"Then what use are you to this school? It's a joke that you have got the job. You are going to be useless."

Makoto didn't reply.

"Kyosuke," said a female voice. "Oh, am I interrupting something?"

Kyoko turned her head towards the door to see Chisa Munakata née Yukizome standing at the door frame, holding a baby in her arms. Chisa was wearing a blue summer dress, while the baby had Kyosuke's hair colour.

"No, you're not," Kyosuke said emotionless. "I'm done here. We can go home."

"Oh, that's good," Chisa replied.

"Dada," the baby said, reaching out their hand.

"Yes, that is your daddy," Chisa said with a slight giggle. "You're a smart cookie, Kenji. Hello, by the way," Chisa said, looking at Makoto and Kyoko. "I remember your faces during your time at school. Are you two here visiting?"

"We are here on business," Kyoko replied. "My husband here is going to become the PR guy."

"Oh?" Chisa replied, surprised. "I've been out of the loop with this place because I've been off due to maternity leave. But I will be back to teach after the summer holidays. Well, anyway, congrats on getting the job. You have big shoes to fill."

"I'm guessing you, and this man is married?" Kyoko asked.

"This man has a name," Chisa said, somewhat annoyed

"Forgive me, but this man was unpleasant to my husband. I think it's only fair I do the same to yours."

"Kyosuke!" Chisa said, annoyed. "What have you said now!"

"The truth, of course," Kyosuke said, standing up. "The Headmaster has given the PR job to a family member who has no talents or skills related to the job in question. Which I find a joke and seeing a Headmaster abusing his powers."

Kyosuke walked over to his wife and child, only for Chisa to grab him by the ear. "What I have told you what opening your mouth? Apologies to Kirigiri's husband right now! Because you don't know why the Headmaster has appointed this young man for."

"I will not apologies," Kyouske said, brushing Chisa off and taking Kenji away from her. "Hello, son," he smiled warmly. "Let's go home and play outside." Kyosuke walked out of the room.

Chisa shook her head. "I'm sorry, Kyosuke has always been a man who isn't to scare to speak his mind."

"Yes, he is a dick. That much is clear," Kyoko said, folding her arms.

"Yeah, he is," Chisa sighed. She walked over to Makoto and offered her hand to him. "I look forward to working with you after the summer."

Makoto took Chisa's hand and shook it. "As am I, Mrs Munataka."

"Oh, please call me Yukizome, oh er, what is your name again, sorry?"

"It's Makoto Naegi," Makoto said with a small laugh.

"Ah, I will make sure to remember that," Chisa smiled. "Well, anyway, I need to head, see you after the summer Naegi."

"Bye, Yukizome," Makoto replied.

Chisa walked out of the room.

Makoto let out a small sigh. "He is right, you know."

"Makoto," Kyoko said firmly. "Do not let that dick get to you."

"But he is! I don't have a bloody clue, what my job is, sure I need to make the school look good and that. But I don't know anything about how this school runs or any other fine details."

"You will learn. Everything is part of the learning process. I have faith that you will do a good job."

"You're only saying that because I'm your husband," Makoto said, defeated. "I'm going to see your father."

Makoto walked out of the room with Kyoko following him as the pair reached Jin's office. Makoto knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Jin shouted.

Makoto opened the door, and the pair walked inside.

"Ah Kyoko, Makoto, did you meet the board members?"

"Yes, we met two," Kyoko said, annoyed. "One of them had to leave due to an important phone call. While the other was a dick."

Jin closed his eyes. "Kyosuke Munataka?"

"Yes," Kyoko said emotionless. "He was having a go at you and Makoto."

Jin opened his eyes and let out a sigh. "Sounds about right, Makoto. Please take a seat."

Makoto sat down at the desk while Kyoko stood beside him.

"Makoto, I will be blunt with you," Jin said. "Most things that Munataka has said is correct. I've hired a person who is my son in law and doesn't know a thing about PR work. Honestly, I wouldn't have hired you because of those two things."

"Then why did you hire me then?" Makoto asked, confused.

"Because," Jin said with a smile. "You're a hard-working man, who doesn't cause problems for anyone, and I know how determined you are to provide a roof over the heads for your family and provide food on the table. Kyoko told me that you were doing extra hours in your old job before your children were born, which proves to me that you are the right man for the job, and I know you wouldn't let Kyoko or me down."

"But," Makoto sighed. "It's as Munataka said I don't have a clue what I'll be doing."

"If I recall Makoto, you learned well from your time as a student attending this school," Jin replied. "The PR job is easy. All you need to do is make good deals for us. Make the school look good and put on a good smile."

"Makoto has that third one down to a T," Kyoko said.

"Makoto," Jin said. "You're predecessor will show you everything, trust me. I hired you because I think you can good a great job and not because you're my son in law. I believe in you, Makoto. Kyoko and Enoshima does as well."

"Thank you, Jin," Makoto said, feeling much better. "I was unsure about the job after listening to Munataka. But hearing your words if you have faith in me to do a good job. I want to prove to you that your faith in me wasn't misplaced."

"Good stuff," Jin laughed. "You weren't kidding, Kyoko. Give Makoto a pep talk, and he is raring to go."

"Yes, he is less stubborn than I am," Kyoko nodded.

"Speaking of stubborn, it's time you and I have a chat, Makoto if you would."

Makoto stood up, placed his hands on Kyoko's shoulders, guided her to the chair, and sat her down.

"Now then," Jin said. "When are you going to start being less protective over Kira? You are aware that you haven't given me the chance to look after my grandson overnight?"

"We are not having this conversation," Kyoko said bluntly.

"You are if you like it or not," Makoto said, giving his wife's shoulders a slight squeeze. "You are doing Junko and my heads in. We are too scared to talk to you because we fear we would get a response as you gave us this morning. I'm hoping your father can talk some sense into you."

"Kyoko," Jin said. "Is it fair that I'm not allowed to look after my grandson overnight?"

"You are allowed, but I don't feel comfortable letting Kira out of my sight," Kyoko replied.

"Sound like your mother you do," Jin said as he tried not to smile. "Oh, how history repeats itself."

"My mother was the same?" Kyoko said, surprised.

"Oh yes, she was," Jin said with a small laugh. "She was overprotective of you when you were born. It nearly destroyed our marriage. She wouldn't let you out of her sight for the first few months. It was driving me crazy because I wanted a night between her and me. But she wouldn't allow it."

"Mother had a duty, and that was to look after me, her child."

"I understand that, but I'll ask you this, the very same question I asked your mother years ago. A year from now, when you go back to work. What are you going to do? Are you going to take Kira to work every day?"

"Of course not!" Kyoko replied, annoyed.

"Then what will you do? The act you are acting right now will give Makoto the impression that you don't trust him to look after his son while you are at work."

"I do trust him!" Kyoko said.

"Do you trust me?" Jin asked.

"Of course, you've raised me with mother-"

"Then why haven't you allowed me access to Kira then? Is your duty as a mother more important to you than spending time with Makoto and Junko? Just the three of you watching a movie again without the cries of a child? Trust me when I say this, Kyoko. It's important to have time for yourself. It's not healthy to be an overbearing mother."

"Kyoko," Makoto said softly. "Junko and I want to spend time with you alone, just the three of us. I take my duty as a father seriously. But as your father pointed out. We must have time for ourselves. Today was the first time in a year that we have gone out together alone. A whole year Kyoko. Junko wants to spend a day with you going out to do some baby shopping. But you wouldn't allow it, and it's upsetting Junko that she can't have a mother's day out. She even has begun to avoid you and the subject now in case a fight breaks out."

"Don't be stupid, Makoto," Kyoko replied, shaking her head. "We would never-"

"You bloody snapped at us this morning!" Makoto said quickly. "You are making things unbearable. YOU even apologies for snapping, so you must know that you're going too far."

Kyoko hung her head in shame.

"Kyoko," Jin said. "The path you are taking will destroy your marriage. Your mother and I were at breaking point until she craved in and allowed other people to look after you and after that. Our relationship began to improve, and so will yours if you learn to trust us."

"But I do trust-"

"Then ask me to look after Kira this weekend then?"

Kyoko didn't reply.

"I don't find it fair that's Makoto's parents got to look after Kira while I haven't been asked yet, and yes, Makoto has told me the drama behind that."

"Fine then," Kyoko said with her head still hanging. "Would you like to look after Kira this weekend?"

"Ask me again, Kyoko, this time eye to eye contact."

Kyoko slowly raised her head and looked at her father. She didn't want to ask. She NEEDED to at Kira's side. But at the same time, was she really going down a path that was going to destroy her marriage? That is the last thing she wanted it.

"Father… Can you look after Kira this weekend?" Kyoko asked as she struggled not to change her mind.

"Yes, I would love to. I will pick Kira up after six this Friday. Is that ok with you?"

"Yes…"

"Good stuff," Jin smiled.

Kyoko let out a big breath as she stood up and quickly left the room.

"Give her time, Makoto," Jin said. "This is a big step for her."

"Thank you, Jin," Makoto replied. "I was shocked to hear about Kyoko's mother acting the same way."

"Kyoko's mother drove me up the wall, but I still loved her. I understand where she and Kyoko are coming from. They both had a child grow inside them; it is natural for them to be protective. It's like animals. A mother will not allow their young puppies or kittens to be near strangers."

"Isn't that going slightly too far? We are not strangers."

"I am to Kira," Jin said, shaking his head. "He wouldn't be used to me, but now hopefully, that will change. Anyway, I'm glad we broke Kyoko's barrier."

"We? No, Jin, that was all you," Makoto said, putting his hands up. "I didn't do a thing. You got through to Kyoko, better than Junko or I ever could."

"But you managed to bring her here, so you and Enoshima did help, anyway. I'm sorry for wasting your today Makoto. You could have learned so much more if I hadn't got my days muddled up."

"Hey, it's fine. You've helped Kyoko, and honestly, I think it was more important. Besides, I could always come back another day, and I can meet my predecessor."

Before Jin got a chance to reply, the office phone began to ring. He picked up the phone. "Hello?" Makoto watched on. "Oh, that's right, patch him through," Jin said as he put the phone to his chest. "Sorry, Makoto, this is an important call and a long one as well. It would be best if you and Kyoko get out of here and enjoy the weather."

"Ok. Goodbye, Jin," Makoto nodded with a small smile, and he turned around and left the office. He closed the door behind him and noticed Kyoko was leaning against a wall with her arms folded with her eyes closed. "Are you in a bad mood with me?"

"No," Kyoko replied softly. "I'm trying my best not to burst into that office and change my mind as to regards this weekend."

Makoto let out a sigh. He put his hand into a pocket and pulled out Kyoko's phone. "Here, take it."

Kyoko's eyes opened and saw her phone. She reached out for her phone before pulling back. "You keep it, for now, Makoto. If I took it, Junko will be angry with me within 30 minutes."

"No, you take your phone back, then it will be your choice." Makoto gently grabbed Kyoko's hand, put slowly placed her phone into her hand. "If you can avoid texting Junko, then it means you can trust her."

Kyoko looked down at her hand and shook head her head. "Fine."

"Thank you," Makoto said warmly. Then gently hugged her. "Come on, let's go home."

"Home?" Kyoko said, surprised, breaking the hug.

"Yeah, your father is on the phone now, and he said it was going to be a long call. He told me to go."

"I see," Kyoko replied. "How we go out together, just the two of us?"

"Are you comfortable with that?" Makoto asked.

"Not really, but I need to heed my father's words. The last thing I want is for my attitude to destroy my marriage with you and Junko. His words spooked me."

"For once, it's not the banning of sex," Makoto chuckled. "Anyway, what do you have in mind?"

"A walk, maybe? I don't know."

"A walk sounds nice," Makoto smiled.

Hours later

Junko was in the living room watching the telly as Kira and Emilia slept peacefully. Junko was surprised that her phone hadn't gone off, and she did fear that Kyoko would have left Makoto black and blue for stealing her phone.

"Where in the hell are those two?" Junko muttered. "It's been hours the pair have left. There is no way the pair is still at the school. Maybe Sweetheart has convinced Babe to go out shopping or go out for a meal. Just the two of them together which Babe needs."

Junko looked towards the two cots, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Everything was worth it in the end, even if Babe is an overprotective mama bear. Hopefully, Babe lightens up and allows people to look after Kira, so Sweetheart, and we can have that juicy sex."

"I feel sorry, Master," Kirumi said, walking into the living room with a duster.

"T-Tojo!" Junko said, alarmed. "Please tell me you didn't hear all of that?"

"Just the end bit, again I feel sorry for Master, you and Mistress must wear him out," Kirumi said straight face.

"Yeah, we do," Junko said with a nervous laugh. "More times than we care to admit."

Kirumi began to dust the living room then she and Junko heard the front door opening.

Junko got to her feet and walked into the hallway to see Kyoko walking in with a bag and Makoto following close behind and closed the door.

Junko walked up to Makoto, put her hand on his chin, and moved his head from left to right.

"The hell are you doing?" Makoto said, confused.

"I'm checking to see if Babe hurt you when you nicked her phone."

"She never hurt me," Makoto said, defending Kyoko. "Although she did say that she hated me."

"I never meant it," Kyoko said quickly. "I was upset at the time. Thanks, Junko, by the way, for having no faith in me what so ever."

"Hey, I feared you would do some rash when you couldn't contact me. I mean, jeez, you snapped at us this morning."

"I know, and I'm sorry," Kyoko sighed.

"It's cool. What's in the bag?" Junko asked.

Makoto left the convo and walked into the living room.

"It's baby stuff. My father is looking after Kira overnight on Friday," Kyoko replied.

"This Friday?" Junko said, shocked.

"Yes."

A slight grin appeared on Junko's face. "Lovely, Muku phone earlier and asked me if she could look after Emi this Friday to give me a night off, to which I said yes. It will be just the three of us on Friday if you catch me."

A slight smirk appeared on Kyoko's face. "I do."

"Oh yeah," Junko said with a fist pump. "Sweetheart won't be able to move on Saturday."

Meanwhile, Kirumi was dusting away in the living room while Makoto was looking over his two babies sleeping, unaware of the 'awful' fate coming to him this Friday.
