(Season 5x03 = iDiablo!)
Once Amenadiel arrived in Hell and told Lucifer about Michael impersonating him while also attempting to sabotage his life on Earth…
Lucifer: So you're telling me that my dickhead twin… Showed up on Earth, assumed my identity, and then reeked all sort of havoc on my life?
Ameanadiel: That about covers it, yes.
Lucifer: Great. Great, and you came down here to tell me this why? Just to torture me? I suppose this the appropriate place for it.
Amenadiel: Yeah, is there somewhere else that we can talk?
Because he's uncomfortable with having private conversations in the hallways, Lucifer and Amenadiel were reduced to talking in a creepy circus themed Hell-loop. Belonging to a tormented ringleader named Kenneth (Who didn't find their situation funny).
Anyway, when Amenadiel informed Lucifer of Michael threating Charlie's safety, Lucifer assured his worried brother that it was merely Michael needling with his fears, while also reminding him of all the times when Michael would get under his skin, and then Amenadiel would end it by giving Michael an atomic wedgie. Except, Amenadiel was doubtful of that working again. He then told Lucifer some rather troubling news regarding Michael and the Silver-City.
Amenadiel: Things have… changed up in Heaven. Last time I was there, Michael had managed to seat himself as Father's right-hand.
Lucifer: So, Dad's talking to him?
Amenadiel: No. No, he's talking to Father, but he's the only one. Nobody else in the Silver-City has a line to Him. Nobody, and Michael has seen to it.
Lucifer: Michael? Weaselly cowardly Michael? *Scoffs* Now suddenly the power behind the throne?
Amenadiel: Without being able to speak to Father, who knows? But he is stronger than you think, Luci. And Michael's become… untouchable in the Silver-City.
Lucifer: Well, he's not in the Silver-City now, is he? So excuse me while I go touch him. I can see how that's a poor choice of words. Just… Hold the fort while I'm gone.
Amenadiel: Hold the… What?
With Hell under temporarily new management, Lucifer was able to return to Earth and begin fixing whatever mess Michael caused. Starting with Chloe. The moment he stepped into the precinct, Lucifer took a brief moment to breathe in the sweet smell of burnt coffee and body odour before seeing Chloe for the very first time in months (or rather years in Hell-time).
The moment he saw her, Lucifer gleefully walked towards her. At first, Chloe assumed he was Michael and even threatened to shoot him again, but Lucifer was able to convince her after asking to look at his hair, his perfectly arranged pocket-square (that Michael couldn't even pull off) and of course, watches as he asks Officer Cacuzza…
Lucifer: What is it you desire?
Cacuzza: I… I wanna… figure out how to disable the cameras in evidence so I can nap in there.
Lucifer: Oh. Naughty you. Thank you. Now, I know my brother can't do that.
Even fully convinced, Chloe still couldn't believe it was really Lucifer. Before he had a chance to explain how this was possible, Chloe interrupted Lucifer by pulling him into a hug, which he gladly returned. After their brief reunion, they walked into the interrogation room so they could talk privately. Even though his return was only a short-term visit, Lucifer still needed to make sure Chloe was okay.
Lucifer: But of course you saw through Michael's charade, My Clever Detective.
Chloe: Well, It… it did take a bit. I mean, he was very convincing. And some of things he said were…
Lucifer: Well, good news on that front. Every word that comes out of the admittedly dashing face is a lie.
Chloe: Oh, well, that's a relief, because he said something so insane, I, well, obviously knew it had to be a lie.
Lucifer: *Scoffs* Did he claim he's friends with Elvis? Cause for one, The King is still alive and I'm the only one who knows where. So…
Chloe: *Giggles* No, he told me… Get this, he told me that I… was a gift from God. *Giggles* That's uh… That's what he said. I mean, that's… That's crazy. That's… That's not true, right?
Chloe didn't want believe Michael, because if she did, it would mean everything about her life and everything she ever experienced… was not at all by her own freewill. But when she saw the serious and concerned look upon Lucifer's face, she asked him…
Chloe: Lucifer, I am not… a gift from God made just for you, right?
Lucifer: …Yes. And I know how it sounds, but… trust me, when my Mum told me…
Chloe: Your Mom told you? Your mom told…? Wh…? Over two years ago? You've kept this the whole time?
Lucifer: Well, back then, you didn't even believe in the celestial side of things. Anyway, Mum only told me because she was trying to keep us apart.
Chloe: Why? Cause if you knew I were a gift from your Dad, you'd what, throw me away?
Lucifer: No, she thought if I knew the truth, it would mean, the feelings I had for you weren't real, that I'd feel you were just some… some tool to manipulate me. But I don't feel that way, because I realized, Detective, I realized that whether you were made for me or not, it doesn't matter.
Chloe: Well, it matters to me.
Before they could continue their difficult conversation, Dan came in saying they have a body at WB Studios. When asked if he was interrupting…
Chloe: No. You're not interrupting. Perfect timing. Such a gift.
The moment Chloe left the room, Lucifer tried following after her, but Dan interrupted him by offering him the same amethyst bracelet Michael complimented. When he first this, Lucifer's first response was…
Lucifer: Why on earth would I want that? (Before finally catching up to Chloe, just as she was preparing to leave) Detective. Detective, wait.
Chloe: No, I don't have time for this. I have work to do.
Lucifer: But, Detective, you're the only reason I'm here.
Chloe: Apparently, you're the only reason 'I'm' here. So I'm going to do my job that I chose. And don't you have somewhere to be?
By the time Chloe arrived at WB Studios, Ella and Joei were already examining their latest victim. The writer and showrunner for one of the television series' on set, Matt Owens. He was found stabbed to death but the murder weapon was currently missing. Before giving more details, girls noticed Chloe's distant look. When asked…
Chloe: Uh… Lucifer and I had, um, sort of a difficult conversation. I… I might've told him to go to Hell.
# This morning, Chloe told me how she knew about Michael. Just a shame I wasn't there to see her shoot him four times. I would've enjoyed seeing that. Also, before he left, Amenadiel told me he was going down to Hell to get Lucifer. Which leads to my question, if the real is Luci back for the time being, then why isn't Chloe out spending some time with him? Why she is here working and trying to avoid him?

Joei: ^Cap & Gloves: On^ Ella.
Ella: But I will not tell you some stories, 'cause… trust me. If the worst thing you said to him was 'Go to Hell'… You're totally fine.
Before speaking further, Chloe was interrupted by the sight of Lucifer pulling up to the scene. He was refusing to return to Hell until everything was set right between them. Although she was grateful by his devotion, Chloe felt that since God made her for Lucifer, it was probably what he wanted her to feel. Leading Chloe to ask for some time to process through this new development in her life. While giving Chloe time to absorb, Lucifer offered to at least help with the case. Because as luck would have it, Lucifer actually knew the victim.
He remembered granting Matt Owens a favour a few years ago and helping him begin his career as a television writer by introducing him to a few network executives. They remained close afterwards, due to Matt coming over and they'd talk for hours. Now, Lucifer wondered what Matt had been up to recently before he returned to Hell. Lucifer saw his answer when he looked up at the billboard…
# As it turns out, Matt Owens made a television show based Luci's life here on Earth called, 'Lieutenant iDiablo!' Once he saw the billboard…
Lucifer: Actually, now I think of it, we did mostly talk about me.
When he and Chloe entered the set that resembled the precinct, they watched as the actors and crew were preforming a scene. In the show, the actor who plays Lucifer, Diablo, is a Lieutenant instead of a consultant and is constantly praised for his accomplishments with the LAPD after discovering his culprits 'Yearnings' (Which amused Lucifer). And the actress who's supposed to represent Chloe, Detective Dancer, is a former stripper turned detective instead of an B-movie actress who is always inappropriately flirting with Diablo (Which Chloe found offensive and irritating).
Once they were done shooting, Lucifer and Chloe approached their lookalike actors and wondered why they're were still shooting since Matt Owen was killed earlier that same morning. According to Diablo, Matt would've wanted them to keep going, especially since the show is becoming a hit. Detective Dancer on the other hand, disapproved of them still working and was also unsurprised by her showrunner's sudden death. Apparently, Matt Owens was known for being a control freak and a megalomaniac.
However, the actors didn't have much of an issue with him (Then again, the show had only aired for seven episodes), but the crew and writers did. In fact, Dancer suggested they speak with Matt's number two, Keri Bellwood. Mainly because everyone on set knew, she did all the work with the scrips and Matt simply took the credit. With him dead, it made Keri's motive (yearning) to take full control over Matt's job.
While Chloe went to speak with Keri Bellwood, Lucifer took a detour over to Linda's office to ensure Michael didn't get inside her head too. He did, but Linda refused to admit it. Furthermore, during their talk, Linda seemed more focused on Lucifer leaving the father of her child in Hell, then his own problem with Chloe. He needed to know how help Chloe with her struggles of finding out she's a gift from God. Leading Linda to recommending that Lucifer's tries empathizing with Chloe and the rest of his friends and actually listen to what they're telling him.
Elsewhere, Chloe went to speak with Keri Bellwood. She claimed that Matt was a terribly lazy boss who constantly kept changing the scrips after she and the other writers spent countless hours writing thought-out clue paths and then always had them replaced with a lap-dance. Furthermore, Keri believed Matt had a drug problem. There were rumours of him spending most of his time in shady motel. Which might've been a new lead.
Over at the penthouse, Lucifer returned for the first time, only to be stunned by the sight of his destroyed piano. Unware it was Maze, therefore, leading him to assume it was Michael. Speaking of Maze, the moment she saw Lucifer, she thought he was Michael, so her first instinct was to attack him! Eventually, Lucifer pinned her and told her it's really him. In response, Maze head-butted him in the face. Leading Lucifer to ask…
Lucifer: Wait. Wait, wait. Would you rather that I was Michael?
Maze: Either. He left me in the closet, but you… You went to Hell without me. You left me!
Lucifer: No, I didn't, Mazikeen. You're not my servant anymore. By all means, you're welcome to join me.
Maze: I don't have wings, you idiot!
Lucifer: Well, Amenadiel and Jophiel do. Why didn't you just ask one of them to fly you down there?
Instead of admitting her mistake, Maze simply stormed out while continuing to angrily glare at Lucifer. Wanting to be a better listener, Lucifer offers Maze the chance to stab him and even asks if she could try finding and stabbing Michael, but once she reached the elevator…
Maze: Stab him yourself.
Later on at the motel, Lucifer and Chloe found Matt's room and to their surprise, the room revealed that Matt didn't have a drug problem. Due to the fact, the room was tidy with only scripts and several empty takeaway boxes laying on the desk. Before investigating further, Diablo and Dancer suddenly turned up, certain they've solved the case thanks to the matchbook for the motel Diablo stole from the crime scene. Moreover, Lucifer recalled the room being were Matt lived when they first met. Meaning, Matt only came to the motel because it represented the place where he found inspiration in the early stages of his career.
Regardless of their great lead, Chloe had officially become annoyed by the actors antics and slightly overwhelmed by Lucifer's presence. So she ordered them all to leave while she bags everything in the room for evidence. As soon as Chloe had everything brought back to the lab, she and Ella had soon examined everything. While examining, Ella wondered…
Ella: I don't get it. Dude had a glamourous job, tons of money, and he ate Panda Express, like, six times a week. People are who they are, I guess.
Chloe: Yeah. Do you believe in the idea of predestination? Where you're forced to walk a path that's already laid out for you?
Ella: *Pfft* Are you kidding? My childhood and family background, surrounded by criminals and dirtbags, I should've ended up in jail. But instead, I chose to get right with the Big Guy, walk the straight and narrow, and here I am, living proof that people can change old, bad patterns.
Throughout the investigation, Chloe couldn't help but ask people (mainly Detective Dancer) certain questions relating to controlling their own fates and freewill and doubting if she still had that. Even Ella's advice couldn't help. Especially when Chloe glanced at a photo of a tattooed penis sent from one of Ella's latest bad boy flings on her phone. Moreover, Chloe soon found a piece of evidence that would lead them to a new suspect.
Meanwhile from outside the lab, Lucifer was watching Chloe work while drinking from Dan's #1 Dad mug. Waiting for her to tell him what to do in order to fix things between them, while also giving her the requested amount of space. As he continued to watch Chloe, Lucifer soon found himself being approached by Dan who wanted to be helpful with Lucifer's current ordeal.
Dan: Are doing okay?
Lucifer: Just fine, up until this moment. I'm just listening to the Detective.
Dan: What, you're listening to her for out here?
Lucifer: Well, I'm certainly not listening to you, so goodbye.
Dan: I know you're trying to push me away. And I brought curiosity in that, and I realized you're just in a projective state, because you're feeling vulnerable right now, and that's pretty scary.
Lucifer: Oh. Detective Douche, if you want to see something really scary, wait until you see what your new all-soy diet is doing to your bone density.
Dan: You got a lot of ugly pictures in your head, man. You need to work on positive visualization. I made a lot progress with that. It can help you.
Lucifer: Actually, maybe you can help me. This cosmic incompetence, the knowledge that you're the plaything of a cruel, uncaring God, the suffocating feeling that everything you've ever accomplished is meaningless. You're the perfect person to ask about these things, Daniel. Tell me, when you born?
Before refusing to answer, Chloe came in with a clue. An evidence bag containing a hot cinnamon vape cartridge. The kind Diablo himself was seen using earliar. Lucifer was sceptical, but the cartridge was found within two days of Matt's rubbish in that motel. Moreover, Diablo claimed he had never visited there. With this new development, Lucifer and Chloe returned to the set to question Diablo, but Lucifer couldn't help but wonder…
Lucifer: I just don't get it, Detective. Why would an actor kill a man who gave in the role of a lifetime?
Chloe: I don't know. Maybe he didn't like being someone else's puppet.
By the time they reached Diablo's trailer, a PA kept knocking on the door, telling him he was 40 minutes late for a scene. Once Lucifer got the door open, the three of them walked in, only to find Diablo dead from being stabbed to death too. (Still no murder weapon) Afterwards, the crime-scene unit arrived, and while Ella and Joei were examining Diablo's body and the trailer, Lucifer and Chloe discussed…
Lucifer: How could nobody notice him missing since lunch? I mean, this man is the entire show. None of these people would even exit without him here.
Chloe: Yeah. Okay. Yep, everyone around is just here to service you… I mean… *Ha* Diablo. I mean Diablo. Anyhow, so, yes, he was stabbed to death too, hopefully with the same instrument. I we can find the murder weapon…
Joei: ^Cap & Gloves: On^ We found the murder weapon!
Hairstyle: Side-swept braid

Bottoms: Love Graphic Skort by Rachel Roy
Footwear: Bright-Red ballet flats

# Well, kind of. The murder weapon I reconstructed was based on a prop from the show. it's a blade that's similar to Azrael's, except it's black instead of white and on the show, it supposed to be the only blade that can kill the Devil. And it matches the one that was used to kill Matt Owens. However, Ella and I were only able to recover the fake rubber one used for stunts. The one we're looking for is made from real sharp metal. So if we find out who has it now, we'll have our killer.
Luckily, Dan would be the one to find their next clue path. Beforehand, Lucifer was reading the shows latest script about Diablo solving a crime in space and enjoying the main plotline. Chloe on the other hand…
Chloe: Ah. Mm-hmm. And what was Dancer doing, a zero-G striptease?
Lucifer: Have you've read this already? *Sighs* Look, Detective… I want you to know that I understand. I know how powerless I felt when Mum told me the truth about you.
Chloe: That's right, your mother told you the truth. Unlike my partner, who kept a huge secret about my life from me.
Lucifer: And now that you know, it's hurt you, Detective, and, look, I want to fix things, but you won't let me, so what should I have done?
Dan: (Walks up to them and interrupts their conversation again) Hey, guys.
As he approached them, Dan confirmed that a PA was supposed to be at Diablo's trailer but she got called away right around the time he was murdered. Whoever called her away might be the killer. At first, they thought it was the second AD, but he got the message from the first AD, but he was also passing on the message to the AD who was needed on set in the first place. And the only person cable of laundering the message through multiple people… was Keri Bellwood.
When they went to confront her, Keri said she couldn't have sent the message to manipulate the AD's in order to get Diablo alone because she had been busy with notes and phone-calls throughout the day. That is until, Lucifer spotted a drop of blood on the research cabinet, opened it, sees more blood stains until he reaches in and finds the blood covered murder weapon. Keri kept claiming she didn't place the blade there, but Chloe was already arresting her.
Shortly after arresting Keri and returning to the precinct, Lucifer was sitting at Chloe's desk, continuing to read Diablo's script. When Dan saw this, he took it upon himself and approached Lucifer with the amethyst bracelet he presented to him earlier in hand…
Dan: I'm trying to say this from a constructive place. I can feel your negative vibrations from across the room, man. (Tries offering Lucifer the bracelet)
Lucifer: Well… then you should probably move even further away. I've just given the Detective some space for the moment. You can give me space forever.
Dan: It's just you pain talking.
Lucifer: You know, of all the ways you humans try to control your lives, these silly New Age superstitions are by far the most embarrassing. I should be having a field day watching you make a fool of yourself like this, but honestly, Daniel, it just… it just makes me sad.
Dan: Okay. Is it all bullshit? I don't know. Maybe. Probably. I don't care. Cause losing Charlotte made me realize… we so little control over our lives. I was so pissed off about it for so long. But this… it keeps my mind positive, and it helps me. I need every win I can get, man. We all do. Even you.
Lucifer: Daniel… I am lowering my walls and I'm willing to be re-harmonized. I'll take the bracelet.
Dan: Wait… Really?
Lucifer: Oh, yes. Really.
Dan: You sure? Because you need to want it. You need to really want it.
Lucifer: Just give me the damn thing. (Briefly struggles to take the bracelet, but finally snatches it and puts it on his wrist)
Dan: *Chuckles before noticing the script* What is this?
Lucifer: Oh. Those are the personal notes from the actor who played Diablo. He had a fascinating insight into the character. Some wild theories about self-loathing, but we can't get it all right. (Looking the bracelet) Oh, that is awful.
Dan: 'Diablo in space?'
Lucifer: Oh, truly a great episode. It's such a pity we'll never get to see it.
Within that very moment, Lucifer and Dan suddenly got the same idea. While the two of them were rushing into the empty conference room, Joei came in with Charlie.
# After her little outburst with Lucifer yesterday, Linda wanted to keep Maze company and help her through her problems. So, she asked me to watch Charlie for the rest of day. I was more than happy to do it. I considered it a 'bring your nephew to the last few hours of work day.'
Joei: ^Cap & Glove: Off^ Oh, looks like someone's a little hungry. Come here. (Picks up milk filled bottle before picking up Charlie and feeding him) Here you go, sweetie-pop. (Notices Lucifer and Dan looking at sheets of paper and making strange body movements) Hmm. I wonder what uncle Luci and uncle Dan are doing in there. let's go find out. (Places Charlie back into the stroller and walks them into the conference room)
By the time she walked into the room with Charlie, Lucifer and Dan were already acting out a scene from Diablo's space episode…
Lucifer: *In an American woman voice* I can't believe you pulled off, Diablo. We made it back to Earth piloting a hijacked space shuttle. Insane.
Dan: *Poorly acting* You can say that again, Dancer. A devil in the Heavens. But the crime, it must be punished.
Joei: What are two doing?
Lucifer: *Normal voice* Isn't it obviously? We're trying to bring the space episode from Diablo to life. Although, may I remind you, Daniel, the original playing Diablo is dead, not you. Please, can we just give it a bit of life?
Joei: Yeah, and as I recall, didn't you used to take an improv class?
Dan: Okay, just set me up for the next line, okay.
Lucifer: Big smile, just have fun with it. *Back to American woman voice* Another case closed, Diablo. So does that mean I can… *Normal voice again* Put my bra back on? Oof. Well, it's not Shakespeare, is it?
# If it was then Romeo & Juliet's love story would be like Fifty Shades of Grey, but would still have tragic ending.
Ella: (Suddenly entering) Whoa, what's going on here? You guys are acting out Diablo episodes without me?
Lucifer: Well, we're trying.
Ella: (Grabs to the scrips) *Also acting poorly* Don't tell him the Devil made you do it.
Lucifer: We won't.
Ella: (Notices the notes written around the script) Lucifer, you did so much prep on your character. I suppose I'm not surprised, though.
Lucifer: No, these are Diablo's notes. Here. Previously they'd all been about the character, but these new ones are just gibberish. *Reading* 'Yearning = Freedom.' 'Weapon = Baphomet's Blade.'
Joei: Yearning?
Lucifer: I knew the man was a genius. These are Diablo's notes on the case. He was investigating Matt Owens' murder as well, and look. 'Killer = Number 2.' Keri was the shows number two. I can't believe it, but he actually solved it. Oh, Diablo, is there anything you can't do?
Dan: Wait, but didn't Keri kill Matt to take his job? I don't think freedom was the yearning, man.
Joei: Yeah, and you know? One would think that a woman who's written over a 100 murder mystery themed episodes, would do a much better job of hiding the blood covered murder weapon.
Ella: Yeah, I don't think Keri killed him at all. Based on the stab wounds, I was able to confirm that the victims were killed by someone right-handed, and Keri had repetitive stress injuries in her wrists. I mean, it'd be highly unlikely that she could stab someone with the force that made those wounds, especially with her non-dominant hand.
Lucifer: Well, it says right here in Black & White. Diablo was certain the killer was number two.
Joei: Unless he meant someone else.
Over at the studio, Chloe came to confirm Keri's arrest to Dancer. Once she heard the news, Dancer once again seemed unsurprised by the outcome. Wanting to talk more, Chloe and Dancer went over to have a drink at the set that was supposed to resemble LUX, but it was a night-club/strip-club called HADES.
As the two were enjoying their first shot, Chloe once again asked how Dancer feels about playing a character whose every action is only to service someone else. In response, Dancer suddenly drops her positive attitude about the show and admits hating it all. Saying all those dull lines and wearing all those tacky clothes (Even though they're similar to Chloe's signature look) was all torture to her. Now, she's relived to be free and take on roles she truly yearns for.
The more she kept talking about her own freedom, the more Chloe was beginning to see Dancer's true colours. Because when they first met, Dancer said her role was an amazing gig and she was grateful to have it. She also recalled the dead-on impression Dancer did of Keri just a few moments ago. In fact, it was so impressive, it would've been nearly impossible to tell them apart over the phone. Reaching to a conclusion, Chloe is about to aim her gun, when Dancer uses the bottle to knock it away, breaks the bottle and attempts to fight Chloe. Revealing Detective Dancer as the true killer.
Dancer killed Matt because she felt he was holding her back from roles that were are more decent. She then planned to frame Diablo by planting the hot cinnamon vapour cartridge. Except Diablo somehow 'deduced her yearning' and figured out what she had done. Unwilling to risk Diablo taking away her freedom and spend the next six seasons with her main prop as a stripper-pole, Dancer killed Diablo and framed Keri to ensure her own fate. Unfortunately for Dancer, Chloe used that very stripper-pole to knock her down before arresting her. At that exact moment, Lucifer arrived with back-up…
Lucifer: So, Diablo was right. The killer was number two, on the actors' call sheet.
Chloe: How long have you've been here?
Lucifer: Long enough to realize you have this totally handled on your own. And as much as I appreciate the effort, I think I prefer my own club, and I definitely prefer the way my father made you, Detective. Though I'm sure your tips would have been great. That wasn't the right joke, was it? *Sighs* I'm just not finding the thing to say. I'm sorry, Detective. I wish you'd just tell me what to do.
Chloe: I…*Scoffs* I don't know if there is anything for you to do. I… I thought that I had found someone who had the answer, someone who knew how it felt, someone… who could help me cope with feeling… so powerless. But I was wrong. (Exit the area)
Elsewhere, at Linda's house, she and Maze had spent the day binge-watching Diablo (Where Maze is portrayed as a man and she and Linda's character's are lovers), drinking and briefly discussing about them both eventually going to Hell (Since Linda believes she going down there where her time comes). Overall, what Linda mainly wanted to focus on was Maze's fear of abandonment. At first, Maze tried to shrug it off by chuckling, until…
Maze: *Scoffs* I wouldn't… call them abandonment issues. They're not issues. I mean, who cares if Lucifer left me, right? *Scoffs* Chloe left me. *Beginning to whelm-up* …Then she left me. *Crying* Why did she leave me?
Linda: Eve?
It would be easy to assume if Maze was referring to Eve, because she was the very first person Maze had ever grown true feelings for. Except, Eve isn't the source behind Maze's abandonment issues. It comes from another 'she' Maze previously knew in her life.
Later that night, Lucifer came up in the penthouse and poured himself a drink after his long exhausting day of trying to listen and be told what to do, only to hear the sound of Angel wings flapping. Leading Lucifer to say…
Lucifer: I was wondering when you'd show our face again… *Unveils* his own wings* Brother.
Standing right across the room from him stood… Michael. Finally coming face-to-face, Lucifer and Michael continued to stand with both their wings out, until Michael started the conversation by saying…
Michael: Welcome home. *Descends his wings* So… how do you like the mess I've made, Samael?
Lucifer: *Scoffs while also descending his wings* Trying to get under my skin, brother?
Michael: Well, I hoped turning your life upside down would do that, but… if all it takes is a name, maybe I overestimated you. Wondering why I'm doing all of this?
Lucifer: Not particularly.
Michael: Oh, right, you're so above it. I forgot. If only we could all be as cool as you.
Lucifer: (Removing his jacket) Well, isn't that what this is all about, Michael? Hmm? It's funny how turning my life upside down actually involved pretending to be me.
Michael: It worked, didn't it?
Lucifer: Well, it's the only trick you've ever pulled. All our lives you wanted everyone to think that you were the cleverer one, the big brain, but… It's only ever been about me, about trying to be me. *Chuckles* You always thought too small.
Michael: Not like you, right? 'Lucifer the Rebel,' deciding you can do a better job than Dad? You know, I wonder how you that idea in your head in the first place.
Lucifer: *Chuckles* Oh, right, that's your play, is it? Taking credit for my failed rebellion? By all means, it's yours.
Michael: Now, you see, that is the best part. All I did was plant the idea. You're the one who chose to do it. You still get to keep all the blame yourself. *Chuckles*
Lucifer: *Scoffs* Your lies are so tedious, Michael.
Michael: Not as tedious as your denial. Because I'm not lying now, brother, and I think deep down, you are realizing that. And once you realize that… you're gonna wonder… maybe it wasn't the rebellion that was my suggestion. What else? What about your little sexcapade in The Garden, or… Oh. Your vacation here to Earth.
Lucifer: That's impossible.
Michael: Mm-mm. It was quite easy, actually. All it took was a little whisper here, a carefully orchestrated coincidence there, and your pathological self-absorption, of course. And Voila! All your idea.
Lucifer: Why?
Michael: Because all our lives, you thought that you better than me. The 'Great Lucifer Morningstar,' but you're not, are you? You're just Samael.
Lucifer: Stop calling that.
Michael: All right. Why don't I just call you what you know you really are… Unworthy.
Enraged by his words and manipulations, Lucifer found himself fighting Michael. During which, they resorted to either fighting like children or using the broken pieces from the piano until… Lucifer got the upper hand, held Michael into a chokehold, reached out, grabbed Maze's demon blade that she had thrown against wall earlier and used it to create a long incised cut across Michael's face!
Afterwards, Lucifer went over to Chloe's. His face was battered and his shirt was stained with Michael's blood. Yet, all he wanted was to seek comfort. Once Lucifer entered and she saw him in his terrible state…
Chloe: Lucifer? You okay? You look like Hell?
Lucifer: Appropriate. Um… So, uh… The good news is, I dealt with the Michael problem. He won't be impersonating me ever again. The bad news is that I've discovered… apparently, he's been manipulating me since the dawn of time.
Chloe: Oh. Yeah, must be, um… terrible to… not control your own faith.
Lucifer: Alright. I get it, Detective. You're struggling with feeling like you can't cope. Well, welcome to the bloody club!
Chloe: You have no right to yell at me. Are situations are nothing alike. 'You' are an Angel. 'You' deal with celestial craziness all the time. I am just a person, Lucifer. Just a person who was already dealing with the fact that I am in love with the Devil, and THEN… I find out that I was made… to feel that way! That my life isn't my own, so I am sorry if your brother is a jerk to you sometimes. (Turns away while trying to hold back tears)
Lucifer: I, I… I spend thousands of years in Hell, imagining our reunion. Getting my partner back, getting… you back. And now… I just thought it would go differently.
Chloe: (Still refusing to look at him) Yeah. Me too. I thought what we had was real. (Abruptly leaves the room)
Later on, Maze came over to the apartment, looking for Chloe. Instead she walked in to find who appeared to be Lucifer, sitting in the dark near the full-lit fireplace.
Lucifer?: She's not here. She left quite abruptly, actually. She was quite upset.
Maze: Oh, I suppose you're the one I wanted to talk to, anyway. I wanted to say that, um… That I'm sorry. I shouldn't have tried to stab you. Turns out you weren't the one I was upset with to begin with.
Lucifer?: Really? You're upset with Lucifer. Well… (Steps into the light, revealing to be Michael with his fresh new scar across his face) You should be.
Maze: (Smiles while reaching for her other blade) Well, this night turned out better than expected. Now I get to cut your lying tongue.
Michael: (While being held at knife-point) You were right. You were right. I'm a liar, and Lucifer always tells the truth, doesn't he? Oh, yeah, except for when he leaves things out. Like the secret that he kept from Chloe, and the one that he's keeping from you.
Maze: What secret?
Michael: Uh-uh. I can't tell you that. You won't believe me… Because I'm a liar, right? (Maze removes her blade from his throat, allowing Michael to stand up but still keeps her guard up) But… I can tell you how to find it out for yourself.
Once again, Maze was at a crossroads with deciding rather or not she can trust Michael. Because if she agrees to his plot, not only will she uncover Lucifer's secret, but she might end up affecting her friendship with him. Then again, if she does somehow uncover the truth, she'll finally understand the true meaning behind her own abonnement issues.
Will Maze agree? Find out next time. Hope you've enjoyed this chapter. If so, please comment.
