The past week had flown by with everything Jack and Andy had to do to settle the kids into the house. Marsha was in Portland visiting a friend that she hadn't seen in years, but she got excited the minute Jack told her about the kids. Andy and Jack pulled the boys from school for a few days to get them acclimated with their new home and give them time to grieve. They were stretched thin with planning Jenna's funeral and meeting with her lawyer to figure out her estate. Andy almost got in a fistfight with Jenna's mother at the funeral when she figured out that the woman had only come from Chicago to claim Jenna's money and wasn't the least bit sorry that she died. Jenna's mother didn't even acknowledge the kids at the wake and demanded to know why they got everything in the will. It took Jack and Travis to hold Andy back. Rowan couldn't help but laugh when he saw her lunge at Jenna's mother.

The Herrera-Gibsons had a ton of work to do to make their house a home for the kids. Jack agreed to clear out his office for a playroom and the two of them made it a point to take the kids furniture shopping since two out of three of the upstairs bedrooms had various pieces or furniture or nothing. Jack and Andy argued over whether to keep Amelia in a crib like she had been in at Jenna's, but settled on buying her a "big girl bed" when Rowan told them about how she used to climb out at night. Rowan and DJ were excited not to have to share a room like they did at Jenna's. DJ picked the smaller room that faced the street while Rowan settled on the room with the reading nook in the corner. After a day of painting and moving the kids in, Andy decided it was time to bring them to the station to meet everyone. Besides, she had work there that she wanted to grab and take home. Both Andy and Jack went to sleep that night planning to take the trip over the next day.

Jack rolled over the next morning and felt for Andy next to him. He picked his head up and saw that she wasn't beside him like she usually was. That's when he saw her standing by the window looking out at the backyard. He could feel the cool breeze coming in from the open windows and heard laughter outside. He wasn't used to waking up to that whatsoever. "Hey, hey, hey, be nice to your sister", Andy yelled out the window when she heard someone tell Lia to go away from the swings.

"What are you doing up so early?" Jack asked as he sat up and rubbed his eyes.

Andy turned around and smiled at Jack, chuckling, "Early? Jack, it's 10 am. The kids are outside playing already. I already gave everyone breakfast and had everyone get ready. I thought I'd be nice and let you sleep in for a bit since you got up with Amelia last night". Last night Amelia had woken up screaming for Jenna and Carl. Andy had already passed out after dealing with Rowan's night terror. He more or less grumbled that he was fine and slammed the door shut. She peeked into his room minutes later to see him reading with a flashlight. Jack got up for Amelia and told her stories until she fell asleep in his arms. He had been exhausted after that so Andy assumed all the morning duties before the trip to the station. After breakfast, she sent the kids out to play with Rowan in charge while she went upstairs to wake up Jack. "I really appreciate you doing that last night. At least you got through to Amelia. Rowan wouldn't even talk about what happened so I didn't press the issue", Andy explained while watching the crew run around the yard outside.

Jack walked over to Andy and wrapped his arm around her and looked out at the kids playing on the metal swing set that they had brought over from Jenna's place. He smiled, "I can't believe this is our life now. The house in the suburbs, three kids, it all seems so surreal. Sometimes I wonder what we got ourselves into"

Andy leaned back into Jack, "I know what you mean. The last few days have just been a whirlwind"

"I know, Baby Rambo." Jack teased as he kissed her head laughing.

"Hey that bitch had it coming. I'm just glad the kids didn't see it." Andy said, referring to a situation that had gone on earlier in the week with Jenna's mom. "If she thinks she's getting a dime of Jenna's money she's out of her mind. I mean who the hell goes to their own daughter's funeral and doesn't even recognize or offer sympathy to her own grandkids? That woman deserved to be punched in the face so bad", Andy stated angrily.

"I know she did. I do have to say though watching you stick up for Jenna and the kids like you did was pretty sexy." , Jack admitted

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah." Jack said as he leaned in and kissed Andy, not hearing the tiny footsteps heading towards their room. Neither of them were used to that sound or the tiny but loud voice of the little girl to whom the tiny footsteps belonged to. He looked at her and chuckled, "I think we're being summoned"

"Mommy, Daddy, Rowan and DJ said I'm too little to swing. I told them I'm not and that you guys pusheded me on them before but they won't listen." Ameila said when she stomped her foot as she pushed the door open and stood in the doorway. "What are you doing here?", she asked, curious.

Both Jack and Andy smiled at her; hearing Ameila calling them Mommy and Daddy would never get old. She had started to call them that right after Jenna's funeral with DJ following the next day. Calling them anything but Mommy and Daddy was just too confusing for them. Rowan wasn't there yet and they completely understood, he was older than the other two and had been through a lot more than either of the kids, he would get there when he was ready and both Andy and Jack accepted that.

"Lia, honey, it's okay because we are going to be getting ready to leave soon to go to mommy and daddy's work. We have some really important people we want you to meet there." Andy said when Amelia gave her the puppy dog eyes and quivered her bottom lip. "Daddy and I decided last night that we wanted you two to meet all of our coworkers. Your new aunts and uncles", she explained. Everyone at the station had been driving them both crazy about getting to meet the kids.

"Maybe when we get home before I start dinner I can push you on the swings for a bit. We'll have some Amelia and Daddy time. How does that sound?" Jack asked, kneeling down to look at her.

"Okay! I love you Daddy." Amelia said as she wrapped her arms around Jack's neck.

"I love you too baby girl." Jack said, now this was something he would never get sick of.

Amelia pulled back from her hug with Jack and ran over to Andy who picked her up mid run. "I love you too Mommy."

"Well I'm glad to hear you love me Lia Bug cause I love you more" Andy said and kissed her cheek. "Why don't we go and get your brothers so you three can wash up before going to the station. That way Daddy can get out of his PJs and get ready to go. Your hands are filthy. Were you playing in the dirt again?", Andy wondered when she looked at Amelia's hands. There was a small flower bed next to the garage that Amelia had taken to playing in the past few days with a plastic pail and shovel. Both Andy and Jack agreed to buy one of those wooden sandboxes instead of letting her play in the dirt all the time.

Amelia nodded her head at Andy and smiled, looking over at Jack. "You're silly, why are you still in your jammies?"

Andy and Jack both laughed at their little girl

"I was like your brothers and didn't want to get up this morning." Jack answered as he walked over to his closet to get some clothes.

Amelia giggled at this.

"What do you think, 15 minutes and we can head out?" Andy sought to confirm.

"Yeah that will work, I showered and shaved last night so I might be down even sooner." Jack responded.

"Okay, I'll get the boys wrangled up. Love you." Andy said as she started to head towards the door with Amelia on her hip.

Jack grabbed Andy's arm that was free and turned her around and kissed her. "I love you too. I'll be down in a few."

Andy smiled and walked out of the room, Jack hearing Amelia ask Andy why they kissed so much as they went, causing him to laugh.

A few minutes after Andy left, Jack was just finishing brushing his teeth when his phone started to ring. He saw a picture of him and Marsha from Christmas light up the screen showing that Marsha was the one that was calling and he pressed the green button to answer the call.

"Hey Marsh, hang on one minute."

"Did I call at a bad time? Are you busy with the kids? You can call me back." Marsha said on the other line.

Jack quickly rinsed out his mouth and put the toothbrush back in it's holder. "No you're good. I'm actually kid free for a few minutes. We're getting ready to take the kids to the station to meet everyone and for us to pick up some reports we need to finish and sign off on before we go back.", he explained. "Maya's letting us take some of our work home now since we have the kids. The paperwork at least", he told her.

"Oh they are going to love it there. And everyone at 19 I'm sure is already in love having them in the family. I know I'm loving having them in my family and I haven't even got to know them yet. On that note are you sure you don't need me to come home and help? Portland is only a few hours away.", Marsha asked. Ever since she found out about the kids, she had been asking to come home. She had spent months planning the trip to see her childhood best friends Judith and Marilyn in her hometown, but that all went to the wayside when she got the call that Jenna had died and Andy and Jack adopted on short notice. Judith had bought a celebratory bottle of sparkling cider to congratulate her on finally joining them as grandparents. Scott was a traveling photographer and never settled down with a woman to have any kids of his own. This was big and exciting for her. "Judith already said she'd drive me to the airport", she lied. Jack chuckled when he heard another woman yelling, "For Heaven's sake Marsha, I told you that they would be waiting for you when you came back. You'll be begging for a vacation with all the babysitting they're going to ask you to do"

Jack couldn't help but laugh at Marsha's excitement. "Everyone is so excited, they wouldn't leave me or Andy alone about coming over or us coming in. As for you, we told you to enjoy your time away and it sounds like Judith wants you to as well! You have been so excited to go visit your friends for weeks now. The kids will be waiting here for you when you come back in a few days. Andy and I will even plan a date night or something so it's just you and the kids so you can have extra time with just them besides you watching the kids while we're at work.", he assured her. "You'll have plenty of time to be a grandma"

"And I will gladly take you up on that offer!" Marsha said. "Now tell me the truth, every time we have talked I've asked you how the kids are adjusting but how are you and Andy doing? Don't bother lying to me because I know when you aren't being honest"

"We're doing okay. It's been a lot but God Marsha, we love these kids so much already.", he admitted.

Marsha just smiled, even though Jack couldn't see it, "I can tell by the way you and Andy talk how much you love them. I can't wait to meet them again and get to know them."

"They'll love you Marsh, have you decided on a name that the kids can call you?" Jack asked.

"Well Grandma just makes me sound old." She had to stop talking over Jack laughing. "I'm serious and don't laugh, mister. I truly don't know, I'm just so happy to get to be in these kids' lives."

"And spoil them rotten?" Jack asked.

"Well of course! As far as a name, I'd love to be called whatever you and Andy come up with or whatever the kids come up with."

"Sounds good Marsha. I better get going before one of the kids starts banging on the door to get me to go, but I'll talk to you later tonight or tomorrow."

"Okay Jack, have fun with the kids, tell Andy I say hi! Love you."

"Love you too Marsh." Jack said and disconnected the call, heading down the stairs. "Okay are we ready to go?"

"I think so." Andy said, walking over to Jack to whisper to him, "The boys seemed a little off when I said where we were going. I thought we could talk to them quickly before we leave."

"Good idea. Marsha called again, she says hi."

"I can't wait for her to meet them again." Andy said as they walked back over to the dining room table where the kids were sitting and talking.

"Hey guys, are you ready to go to the station?" Jack asked.

Amelia nodded her head excitedly, but the boys just looked at them.

"Amelia, why don't you go and play for a few minutes in the living room. We're just going to talk to your brothers quick." Andy said.

"Otay." Amelia said, running to the living room.

"What's up guys?" Jack asked. Rowan and DJ looked at each other, neither one wanting to answer. Rowan shook his head, determined to bury how he was feeling about the whole station trip. He had been very quiet since the fire about what had happened. He refused to talk to anyone at the funeral which had Andy freaking out because she had first hand knowledge as to what silence at a funeral can do. He was probably annoyed with how many times she and everybody else asked if he was okay. She knew he was annoyed by Jenna's mom and knew that he was pissed off about all the change in general. Rowan liked to be in control of things and with Jenna's death and the adjustment of moving and getting adopted again, he was the furthest from in control of the situation. "Rowan bud, any thoughts?", she asked while he looked away from her. Andy sighed, "DJ?"

"We're scared." DJ said as he moved over into Andy's lap.

"The last time we saw fire trucks and all the stuff and firefighters in their gear was the night of the fire." Rowan said quietly, knowing that his brother would keep talking if he didn't.

"Oh boys." Andy said as she hugged DJ and grabbed Rowan's hand. "I know it's probably super scary to see all of that but me and your dad will be right there and there are some amazing people there that can't wait to meet you all."

Jack could tell that DJ was starting to warm up to the idea but Rowan still seemed hesitant. "If it makes you guys feel better while your mom is finishing up paperwork I can show you all the stuff and tell you what it does."

Rowan looked over at Jack and smiled. "Thanks Jack, I'd like that."

"Can I see too?" DJ asked.

"You sure can." Jack said

"Maybe if you guys want I can have one of your aunts or uncles even give you a ride in the truck." Andy said.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" DJ said, running to the door to get his shoes.

Amelia saw DJ getting his shoes on. "Wait for me! I wanna go for a ride too."

Andy shook her head and laughed at the younger two and headed over to help them get their shoes on and tied.

Rowan let out a deep breath and looked at Jack. "You promise you'll show and explain everything to me?"

"I promise, me and Andy will show you everything and we'll answer any questions you have, you don't have to be scared Rowan, we'll be right there with you."

"Thank you Jack." Rowan said as they headed over to get their shoes on to head out.

The car ride to the station was filled with everyone asking questions about the station and what they were going to see there. "Are these the same people we met quickly at the wedding?", Rowan wondered as DJ threw a suction cup nerf dart in his direction. "Hey quit it", he complained while DJ made faces at him. "Stop being annoying", Rowan complained as he flicked DJ on the forehead. DJ threw another dart in his direction and frustrated, Rowan snatched the nerf gun out of his hands. "It's mine now", he huffed grumpily.

"Mommy, Rowan flicked me and he stole my nerf gun. Make him give it back", DJ whined while Rowan held the nerf gun just out of DJ's reach. "All I did was shoot the darts at his window and he yelled at me", DJ complained

Andy sighed and turned to the back where DJ was grinning while Rowan threw the nerf gun into the trunk area. It was moments like this that made her glad that she decided to get the boys out of the house for a few. "Rowan stop picking on your brother", Andy scolded while DJ made faces again at Rowan, thinking that he got away with the cuteness factor. "And DJ, stop annoying your brother. Also, how many times do I have to tell you to leave the darts at home?", she asked while DJ counted the times on his fingers. "Please get along. I know things have been difficult for both of you, but I really need you guys to stop fighting"

While DJ and Rowan were being scolded, Amelia used the opportunity to draw on the car upholstery with a magic marker. She made multicolored scribbles and drawings on the back of Andy's seat; working diligently to get them to look how she wanted. DJ stared at her wide eyed when he caught her and tattled, "Mommmyyy, look what Lia's doing. She's coloring on the car"

Andy quickly turned around to see Amelia staring at her artwork with a puzzled expression before touching the green marker to the sea of purple on the gray seat. Andy gasped as she took the marker out of Amelia's hands. "Lia honey, no. Draw on the paper, not the seat", she corrected as she handed Amelia a book from a drawstring bag she kept up front. Amelia happily took it and traded out her markers. Andy stored the green, yellow, and purple markers in the glove compartment where Amelia wouldn't be able to reach them. "We need to get a new car. We can't keep cramming the kids in the back of my Prius like this. We need a minivan that will be able to hold everyone and by that I mean give everyone their space", Andy told Jack. "We need to be able to fit three kids and two adults in our car comfortably without everyone sitting on top of each other"

"I couldn't agree with you more. How about this, once the boys are back in school, we can go shopping around for one?", he asked as Andy readily agreed. "Just as long as we can keep our Jeep", he told her to which she agreed. That was his prized possession after he totaled his old truck; there was no way in hell that he was getting rid of that. Andy assured him that it was there to stay and that if they traded in any car, it would be her Prius.
