The drive to the school was far less chaotic than the morning itself but filled with a mixture of the boys talking over each other about school and Amelia demanding to listen to Baby Shark; a song that both Rowan and DJ protested with every fiber of their being and Jack couldn't help but agree. Amelia crossed her arms in front of her and asked Jack to put on "Lost in the Woods". Jack was ready to lose his mind. He felt like he had just handled a three alarm fire with wind and rain, and everything else mother nature could throw at it. The morning had been hectic and crazy without Andy to help him get the kids ready and not turn breakfast into an inedible mess of rock hard waffles and singed sausages. He wound up putting a ziploc bag of cereal into the boys' backpacks before they left. He could see Amelia happily munching on a granola bar in the backseat, blissfully unaware of all the crumbs she was getting on the floor of the car. Jack settled on the radio so he wouldn't have to deal with all three of them fighting this early and promised Amelia that he would play her song later.

Jack grimaced as he looked in the rearview mirror at DJ's unruly bedhead that he forgot to brush and knew that the dragon breath was a package deal. "Here, I'm going to assume you were too busy fighting with your brother and forgot to brush your teeth this morning", he expressed while handing him a wintergreen tic tac from the box Andy kept in the glove. This parenting stuff certainly wasn't easy and it made him wonder how Dean did it so flawlessly with Prue, as a single father nonetheless.

"How did you know?", DJ inquired as he popped the tic-tac in his mouth. Amelia got jealous and requested one but Jack refused with how small they were. Jack handed her instead a random pouch of Frozen fruit snacks that he found in the cup holder and that was good enough for Amelia.

"Lucky guess", Jack responded while pulling into the parent drop off lane. He waved as Rowan and DJ got their bags and hopped out of the car. "Good luck at school today boys. Learn something will you?", he called from the open window while Amelia blew the boys kisses. Jack grimaced when he watched her put her saliva covered hands on the window and giggle. Small finger streaks donned the window while she pressed her little hands up against the window so she could wave to the boys. "Alright Lia bug, I guess it's just you and me", he told her while they pulled out of the school parking lot and headed towards the car dealership. He then realized that Andy had the checkbook and that he couldn't put the down payment on the car without it. "Damn it", he muttered under his breath.

Amelia's eyes went wide with shock and she put down the doll she had been playing with to stare at him. He stopped at a red light and looked behind him to see her shaking a finger at him. "Uh oh. That's a bad word. I gots to tell Mommy", she scolded. There was no denying that she was Andy's mini-me during moments like this.

He forgot she was listening. "Great, that's all I need to hear today", Jack thought as he drove towards Starbucks to pick up coffee for himself and Andy, more himself than anyone. "I know I did sweetheart and I'm sorry. Now how about you and I go to Starbucks to get Mommy a coffee. I have to pick up something at our work so we are going to take a little side trip. How about that?", he asked as he pulled in the drive thru as opposed to going in like he usually did. He wanted to avoid unbucking Amelia since he couldn't seem to figure out how to do it.

"Can I have lemonade and a cookie?" Amelia asked as he started to roll his window down. "Pease?"

"You can have lemonade and a fruit pouch. You're not having all that sugar at 8:30 in the morning", he answered much to her disappointment. "I'm getting a coffee with espresso", he told himself while pulling up to the speaker. After they had left Starbucks, Jack drove to the station and parked in front next to his Jeep. He opened the door and tried to figure out how to undo the clips to Amelia's car seat. "How did Rowan do this?" he thought out loud while Amelia shrugged. "Lia honey, do you know how to…..actually wait, no, you're not allowed to touch your clips", he asked her before reminding himself of the reminder Andy gave her when she tried to unbuckle herself the other day after they had pulled into the parking lot at the supermarket. "My mistake, sorry sweetheart"

He was so engrossed in finding out how to undo Amelia's seat clips that he didn't notice Vic walk up behind him. "Need any help?" she asked after standing there, watching for a good two minutes. Jack jumped from the sudden voice behind him and smacked his head on the roof of the car, causing Amelia to giggle like crazy.

"Ow", he muttered to himself as he threw his hands up in frustration

"You scareded my daddy", Amelia laughed as she locked eyes with Vic.

"I think I did! Is Jack Gibson having trouble undoing one little button on a seatbelt?", she teased as he pulled his head out of the car and rubbed the top of his head.

"Not funny Hughy", he muttered while trying to find out how the red button worked. At least his struggle gave him the peace of mind that Amelia was safe back there when she was buckled in and would remain so if they ever got in an accident. He had made sure when he installed the seat itself that it was secure to the seat to the point of it being immovable. In the interest of safety and despite Amelia's objections and what Jenna used to do, Andy and Jack opted to keep Amelia rear facing until her third birthday. Vic continued to laugh while Jack continued to struggle. "Are you just going to stand here and laugh at me or are you going to go inside and you know, do actual work? Save actual lives?", he grumbled frustratedly.

Amelia laughed wildly and took another sip of her lemonade while resting her sticky hands on the sides of the seat. "Daddy's funny", she giggled while Jack quickly took the cup of lemonade out of her hands. He could see it spilling all over the car they were set to trade in before she even had a chance to spill it.

"Amelia has a point. This is pretty funny", Vic laughed while Jack shielded himself from the flash of her camera. "Seriously Hughes? Don't you have anything better to do?", he muttered as she snapped another picture of his struggle. "Oh calm down, I need a picture of this because I have to admit, none of us ever thought this would be you", she chuckled, trying to catch her breath in between her laughter. She put her phone away in her pocket and could see Jack glaring at her. "Do you need help?", Vic asked, now sympathizing a little.

Jack shook his head and tried to undo the button again while Amelia pointed out that he was doing it wrong. "I know Lia bug", he told her before turning to Vic. "I don't need...actually, never mind. Please come help me. How the he-... I mean, how on earth do you do this thing?" he asked, correcting himself when Amelia looked at him and shook her head. He didn't want to deal with her telling Andy about him cursing, especially when he gave Maya crap about doing it all the time. Amelia was staring at him and had her arms crossed in front of her, looking very much like a mini Andy. She was definitely full of sass for a pint-sized little girl.

"Alright, move over and let the master show you how it's done. It's simple, you press the red button and pull out the clips, like this", Vic showed him, much to his shock. Something that easy had taken him nearly ten minutes to figure out. "Thanks", he muttered while he picked Amelia up and put her on the ground. "Who did her hair? The 80's? This….oh my god, this hairdo has to be the worst hairdo on a child that I've ever seen", she laughed, having to pause in between what she was saying just so she could catch her breath. "You didn't honestly take her to Starbucks like that, right?" Vic asked as Jack held onto Amelia's hand in the big parking lot that he just knew she wanted to run around in.

Jack scoffed, "It would be great if you didn't judge me Hughy. At least I tried to do her hair. And obviously I s-u-c-k at this so we're just going in here for a minute to get the checkbook and to have Andy fix her ponytail. I'm too busy today to stand here and listen to you make fun of me. I have to buy a new car this afternoon, go to the grocery store, and pick the boys up from school. And on top of that, I have to find some way to entertain Miss Amelia over here who's incredibly active" , Jack explained while Amelia tugged on his hand and walked in a circle under his arm. "What sweetheart?", he asked.

"Daddy, is Aunt Vic smarterer than you?", Amelia wondered.

"No Lia, your Aunt Vic here is not smarter than me. We just know how to do different things", Jack explained as they walked into the station. "Hold my hand in the parking lot Amelia", he reminded her when she let go for a second after seeing a butterfly make its way to a flower bed near the door. She held onto her father's hand and walked closer towards the entrance. She looked back behind her while the butterfly flew up towards the sky. She was so busy watching the butterfly that she nearly tripped over the stairs. Jack was relieved that he was holding her hand and could catch her. The last thing he needed was to bring her with two scraped knees up to Andy's office. Not today of all days. "Watch where you're walking honey", he told her gently while she dusted off her pants. Amelia sang to herself while skipping the rest of the way up the stairs.

Vic chuckled as she held the door open for them, "I don't know Gibson, I think she knows the truth on who's the smartest here and it's not you"

"She's two, she doesn't even know what the truth is", he grumbled as Amelia stood next to him, and pulled him towards Andy's office. She stopped on the way and looked around, appearing to be deep in thought before turning back to Jack. "Yes Lia?", he asked as she motioned for him to come down to her level.

"Why don't you have an office like Mommy?" Amelia asked

Jack couldn't help but laugh at that question, "Well Lia, Mommy has an office because Mommy is the captain. Mommy is Daddy's boss"

"Why?" Amelia asked

Jack thought back to Andy's first day back at the station after Robert died and smiled, "Because Mommy's the best". As soon as they were upstairs, they went to Andy's office where Jack noticed that Maya and Andy were talking. "Huh, she didn't mention she had a meeting with Aunt Maya today", Jack wondered, perplexed while they stood outside of the office. The blinds were drawn but not all the way, so both of them could see and hear a little of what was going on inside.

"What's Mommy doing in there?" Amelia asked as she pressed her face up against the glass on the door. She could see what appeared to be Andy and Maya yelling about something with Andy throwing her hands in the air. "Uh oh. Mommy mad", Amelia observed while pointing to the glass.

Jack chuckled as he looked into the office too, "I don't think she's, oh boy she does look mad". He watched as Andy slammed a stack of paperwork on her desk while Maya walked towards the door, visibly frustrated and yelling "You always do this. Oh I'm impossible, look who's talking", at the top of her lungs amongst other swear words. Jack covered Amelia's ears so she wouldn't hear them. He chuckled as Andy rolled her eyes at Maya before going back to whatever it was she was probably doing before the fight.

"Is Mommy in trouble?" Amelia asked, concerned.

Jack winced as Maya slammed the door shut and stood in front of him. "I don't know. Let me see what Aunt Maya says. She knows even more about Mommy than I do sometimes", he explained as he stood back up, face to face with Maya. "Hey, what's going on in there? Did you and Andy have a fight?", he asked as he lifted Amelia on top of his shoulders.

"No, and you're lucky it didn't come to that. I thought I was bad with the whole 'keeping my eyes on the finish line' thing. Your wife on the other hand, oh, I'm freaking done with her today. Good Luck", Maya muttered as she looked back into the office where Andy was working on her laptop. She had the narrowed eyes and the pursed lips and Jack knew from that, whatever happened in the office couldn't have been good.

Jack chuckled before stopping as he looked at Maya's expression which somewhat rivaled Andy's, "What did she do this time? It couldn't have been that bad"

"She came into work with some 24-hour bug. She's been throwing up non-stop all morning and refuses to go home", muttered Maya. "Something about how she needs to get all this done and how she can embrace the pain", she added, with the air quotes around 'embrace the pain'.

Jack shook his head, "It's your fault for calling her in on her day off"

"My fault? How is this my fault?", Maya asked. "I tried to send her home, but you know your wife as well as I do. She can be so damn frustrating sometimes"

"Do you at least know when it started? Can you give me that?", Jack inquired while Maya muttered some back-handed comment that he couldn't quite make out. "What was that?"

"I said, I don't know what's happening. She ate a breakfast sandwich and threw up. Then she swore she was fine and she's been in and out of the restroom ever since. I told her to go home, and she yelled at me. Maybe she'll listen to you", Maya explained as she smiled at Amelia who waved to her from atop Jack's shoulders. "Hi Amelia, maybe you could convince your Mommy to go home because she's pissing Auntie Maya off", Maya suggested

Jack glared at Maya for using inappropriate language in front of the kids. "Language, please. I'd appreciate it very much Bishop if you didn't teach my kids words like that. Especially this one who repeats everything everyone says", he warned as Maya rolled her eyes.

"Look at you being the responsible parent", she chuckled. "I never thought I'd see the day"

Jack chuckled lightly as her jab at him, "Very funny Bishop. Now seriously, about my wife, if you can't stop her from working, what makes you think I can stop her?" Maya simply shrugged and walked away from the office to go to her own. Jack put Amelia down and opened the door to Andy's office. "Maybe Mommy will listen to me when you're here. Who can say no to this adorable face?", he wondered as they walked in.
