Pokémon and Ponies
#63-Desires
Equestria, Pixie Plains.
Yet another newly formed area in the Equestria specifically for the Pokemon. This was also another location that held many Fairy-Type Pokemon and the boundless love and happiness they hold.
Unfortunately, many of these fairy locations have recently been under attack by Chrysalis and her changelings. After Ghetsis informed her about the amount of love Fairy-Types hold, the entire changeling hive had a field day.
And the Pixie Plains was one of them. Chrysalis had arrived at the plains with other changelings feeding on all the Fairy-Types present here. Even the ones that were hiding from her.
"Wonderful!" Chrysalis held a Floette up with her magic as the Single Bloom Pokemon was trying to break free. She gladly fed on Floette's love, already feeling a great amount of magic fill her up.
"Flo! Floette!"
"I could stay here for the entire day, actually." Chrysalis spun Floette around. "It would be a perfect breakfast, lunch and dinner."
As the changelings had their fill of love, Team Plasma was also present in the Pixie Plains. They weren't assisting Chrysalis and her changelings at all.
Instead, Ghetsis had sent some of his grunts to investigate something in particular. That something was none other than the many Dynamax dens scattered across Equestria thanks to Lucien's actions.
There were a few dens here and there with their red lights but one single den in these plains and it emanated a purple pillar of light, indicating that a rare and powerful Pokemon resides in it.
Colress had heard about Dynamax but he's been so focused on other projects that he never got the chance to learn more about it. But he finally had that chance at long last.
Ghetsis found Dynamaxing to be intriguing. A Pokemon growing in size due to the energy radiating from those dens was another potential tool he could utilize.
But what really got their attention was Gigantamax Pokemon. Going beyond Dynamax and changing their forms completely. Few Pokemon were actually capable of Gigantamaxing.
He even thought about Dynamaxing his Hydreigon. Imagining how huge it would be whilst asserting his rule over everyone was already giving him splendid ideas. Ghetsis himself was currently present in this world along with Colress concerning the Dynamax Phenomenon.
The grunts set foot in the Pixie Plains, watching as Chrysalis and her changelings went on with their love feeding session. They took his eyes off of that, only focusing on the real prize here.
The Dynamax Dens.
Colress had contacted the grunts with information concerning the Dynamax Dens.
"Have you found any dens yet?" Colress asked.
"Yes. But there seems to be a different coloured one up ahead over there." A grunt pointed over a small elevated piece of land that had a single den sticking out. "But...these appear to be purple instead of their usual red. Should we approach it?"
"Do it. I've found out that the two colours of each Dynamax pool represent something. Red means a weak Dynamax Pokemon whilst purple represents a rare and powerful Dynamax Pokemon."
"They do?"
"Right. Each pool has a type theme, where almost all Pokémon that can appear in that pool share a particular type; Pokémon that do not match the type theme typically have an evolutionary relative who does. A den's common pool and rare pool usually are the same type but not necessarily. Approach the den and you'll find yourself a rare Fairy-Type for sure. Use the device I gave you to Dynamax your Pokemon."
"Alright. Let's go." The grunts approached the Dynamax den, preparing themselves for whatever powerful Fairy Pokemon might emerge.
As they got closer they could see purple particles fly up from the ground and the den. When they reached the den, they could hear sounds coming out of it. Possibly from either the light of the den or the Pokemon.
"Since it'll always be Fairy-Type..." The female grunt held out a Poke Ball. "Using Poison is the way to go."
They knew that the only way they could enter the den was by entering that huge open hole with the pillar rising out. There were 4 of them in total, so they would be enough to overwhelm whatever Pokemon lies inside.
Once they set foot inside of the Dynamax den, the grunts were met with a barren and rocky landscape filled with red and purple lights flaring everywhere.
The inside of the den may be uninteresting, but the Pokemon inside wasn't. The second they arrived, the Fairy-Type in question that was inside of here was none other than a Gigantamax Hatterene.
"HATT..."
In this Gigantamax form, Hatterene looked a bit different from what it usually looks like. Thanks to powerful Dynamax energy that allowed it to assume a Gigantamax form, Gigantamax Hatterene has grown to a colossal size, while its physiology remains vastly the same.
The Silent Pokemon looked down at Team Plasma, seeing as they had arrived at her den. In this Gigantamax form, Hatterene is capable of reading emotions from 30 miles away. The minute it senses hostility, it goes on the attack. It's known to some as the Raging Goddess. And it could feel the hostility coming from Team Plasma.
"Alright, you. Let's get this over with. Colress requires data on Gigantamax Pokemon, and you're a good catch." The female grunt said.
Those words didn't sit well with the Silent Pokemon at all. It now had a logical reason to attack them all.
"Come out! Seviper!" She had sent out her Seviper for this battle.
"Sevi!"
The other grunts sent out some Poison and also Steel-Type Pokemon to gain a huge advantage over Hatterene who was unfortunately weak to all of them. They consisted of Salazze, Aggron and Escavalier.
"Now..." The female grunt held out the device Colress gave her. It was a sort of metal bracelet that allowed her to Dynamax any of her Pokemon. Usually, Dynamax takes a strong bond between trainer and Pokemon to pull off, but with this bracelet, it forces the Pokemon to Dynamax. "Seviper! Dynamax!"
A red light burst out of the bracelet as Seviper's body started to pulsate. Its body felt the Dynamax energy swell up from within as it was distorting the space around it to change its size while affecting the world. Much like how every Dynamax Pokemon does.
Seviper's body pulsated three times until it finally reached the expected Dynamax size for any Pokemon, minus a few exceptions here and there.
"SEVIPER!"
"Good. What did Colress say those moves were called? Oh, right. Max Ooze!"
"VI!" The Fang Snake Pokemon spun its body around, gathering up lethal poison from its tail. Once Seviper swung its tail, three streams of poison flew forward towards the Psychic-Fairy-Type.
"Hatterene formed a protective barrier around her body, using Max Guard to shield herself from the Poison move. However, once she let her guard down, one of the grunts had used Toxic by shooting a ball of poison at her body, poisoning the Silent Pokemon.
"TERRENE!" Hatterene winced after being poisoned as she closed her eyes. She went on the attack this time by using its tentacles to shoot down beams of lightning towards all of the Pokemon here.
The Pokemon were ordered to dodge the beams of lightning as they then began to overwhelm Hatterene by attacking all at once. With Hatterene poisoned, a Salazzle had used Venoshock to drench Hatterene in a poisonous liquid stream which dealt double the damage due to the poison effect.
"Wrap around Hatterne and hold her down, Seviper!"
"VIPER!" The Fang Snake Pokemon slithered forward, wrapping its enlarged body around the Silent Pokemon, constricting Hatterne whilst Seviper's sword-like tail pokes her back. Even her tentacles had been caught up by Seviper.
"T-TERRENE! HATT!"
With Hatterene being held down by Seviper, this prompted the rest of the Team Plasma grunts to attack while she was defenceless. An Escavalier used Swords Dance to strike its sharp lances into Hatterene's body, an Aggron used Iron Tail to strike her legs while Salazzle used Sludge Bomb.
Hatterene tried her best to break free but every time she struggled, Seviper's grip tightened. She was bombarded by Super-effective moves, causing the Silent Pokemon to wince and cry out in pain.
"Let's finish this! Toss Hatterene up!"
"SEVI!" By using all of its strength, Seviper had moved a bit of its body back while still keeping its tail wrapped around Hatterene. The Fang Snake Pokemon then picked her up like a ragdoll, tossing Hatterne high into the air.
Hatterene didn't just go up, she had been forced out of the den itself. The ground itself was erupting all of a sudden, causing Chrysalis and the Changelings to quake along with the Fairy Pokemon.
"What is that?!" Chrysalis looked around, wondering what was causing that tremor. She then looked over to notice something arise near some of her changelings.
Hatterene flew out of the ground underneath, hitting the changelings in the process as they were knocked into the air.
"Now! Finish it with Max Ooze!"
Seviper delivered the final blow by shooting yet another stream of poison upwards through the hole that Hatterene crashed through. The ooze engulfed Hatterene and even the changelings themselves, hurting not just one individual but many instead.
Chrysalis gasped as she saw some of her changelings take the poisonous attack directly. Hatterene and the changelings fell on their back with their bodies twitching uncontrollably. Hatterene obviously was badly hurt but not as hurt as the changelings who didn't have the same resistance as a Pokemon.
The grunts hopped out of the den, ready to capture their first Gigantamax Pokemon for themselves. The female grunt held the Poke Ball in her hand, throwing it directly at the Silent Pokemon. Hatterene at first tried to whack the ball away with her tentacle but she was too injured to do so. The red light of the Poke Ball pulled her in as it began to shake.
1...2...3...Gotcha!
Hatterene had been caught by Team Plasma.
"That settles that. Dynamax battling may be slow but it's so easy." She chuckled, picking up the Poke Ball. Seviper reverted to its normal size after that battle.
Chrysalis teleported over to the injured changelings, having a worried look on her face. They had horrible scars all over their body as they were on the ground, twitching and whimpering in pain.
Chrysalis growled as she turned around to face the grunts, knowing that this was their doing. "YOU! How dare you!"
"Hm? What's your problem?" A grunt said.
"Problem?! Look at what you've done to them! Their bodies have been horribly poisoned thanks to your actions!"
"Pssh. Whatever. If you have an issue, go talk to Lord Ghetsis about it." The female grunt scoffed at her. "Let's head back."
"You ca-" Chrysalis attempted to lash out at them, but Aggron and Salazze got in her way, preventing her from attacking. Chrysalis backed off, knowing that she may end up harming herself if she battles these two.
With her changelings injured, there was one individual she could scold for this.
"Ghetsis!" Chrysalis went up to Ghetsis who was about to return to Pyrestar's world as a gateway was in front of him.
"Hm? What do you want?" He turned around.
"Look at this!" She held her injured changelings with her magic, placing them down on the ground. They still hadn't been healed yet as they were essentially suffering at this point. "The reckless action that you and your grunts did severely injured my subjects with poison scars and gashes!"
"That so?"
"Keep them in check to avoid any more of this happening in the future!"
"And why should I?" Ghetsis raised an eyebrow, shocking Chrysalis with that response.
"Why should- Do you not realize what this caused?! If we're an alliance, we need as many of our own armies as we can! This type of action can ruin that!"
"Team Plasma gets the job done. We have little time to care about casualties. Perhaps tell your changelings to move somewhere else when my men begin working."
"Why you...How can-" Chrysalis flew up to Ghetsis out of frustration and anger, however, Ghetsis pointed his staff at her neck, holding the Changeling Queen in place.
"Listen here you..." Ghetsis looked down on her with a menacing glare. "The only reason why I have kept you and your subjects around is that I find your ability to shapeshift slightly more useful than Ditto but less obvious than Zoroark. I do not care about your wellbeing or lives whatsoever."
"W-What...?" Chrysalis stammered.
"If I wanted to, I could destroy all of your subjects and you in a flash with my Hydreigon if I so willed it. Whatever happens to them is none of my concern. You should've known this from the very beginning."
"So... You were just using us then?"
"Obviously." Ghetsis removed his staff. "It shouldn't have been this difficult to figure it out. Now get lost."
"You think you can just use my subjects like that...?" Chrysalis narrowed her eyes as her horn glowed green. "Ghetsis!"
"Hydreigon. Hyper Beam." Ghetsis ordered his Hydreigon to fly over to the poisoned changelings to attack them while they were still defenceless and greatly hurt.
Chrysalis gasped to see Hydreigon opening its mouth with a blast of energy being built up in all three mouths. "Wait! Don't hurt them!" Chrysalis teleported over to her changelings, standing in front of them and protecting them from Hydreigon.
"They're already suffering. Best to put them out of their misery, don't you think?" Ghetsis walked up to her with a smirk.
"Please don't! They're defenceless! They cannot do anything right now!"
"Hydreigon. Hold your fire."
"Drei..."
"I'll let them go. But if you want them to live, you'll have to figure that out on your own. And next time, whatever happens, don't come crying to me. Or else I'll make sure your entire species is wiped from the face of the planet. This alliance is only temporary after all. After this, I won't need you anymore. Understood?"
"I-I understand." Chrysalis lowered her head, speaking in a lower tone.
"Good. Let's go, Hydreigon." Ghetsis left to Pyrestar's world by passing through the gateway.
A sense of dread and defeat had been implanted into Chrysalis. She's been defeated before but not like this. She was already terrified of Ghetsis ever since she tried to steal some love from him but now, her fears had skyrocketed to a gigantic degree.
She looked down at her changelings, seeing how they were suffering from the poison gashes continuously pulsating over and over again.
"I will get you all some help. There has to be something." She used her magic to pick up the poisoned changelings as she set off to find a cure for them.
Chrysalis had no idea where to go but she had to try somehow. If there was a Pokemon for everything, then there's certainly a Pokemon that can erase these horrible poison scars from them.
The one Pokemon type she assumed would help were the Fairy-Types due to their magical and healing nature they always carry around them.
Although, after what she and her changelings did, she didn't think that it would be a good idea to head back to the Pixie Plains and ask for their help. If anything, they'd most likely deny them.
But, Chrysalis arrived at the Pixie Plains anyway. She knew that the Fairies despised her after what she did. So there was no point in staying here. She decided to head off somewhere else.
However, to her surprise, the Fairies flew over to the changeling queen. What makes the Fairy-Type so loved is that they don't care about alignments whether its good or evil. If someone needs healing, they'll be there. Although there are some exceptions.
A Clefable used the move Refresh to erase the Poison gashes away from their bodies. A green light circled them as the changelings no longer felt any poison swelling up from within them at all. It was that easy when you're a Fairy-Type.
And to heal up their wounds, Aromatisse used Heal Pulse to get them all back to full strength. That double healing made it look like the changelings were never hurt in the first place.
"You healed them...? Even after what we did?" Chrysalis turned to the Pokemon.
"Clefairy!"
"Aromatisse!"
Chrysalis had no idea what to think for a moment. The Pokemon that she stole love from gave some love back to her by healing up her subjects to full strength. She saw how the changelings flew around, feeling better than ever.
"T-Thank you." Chrysalis thanked the Fairy Pokemon. The Pokemon thanked her back as they got on with their day.
Chrysalis had actually decided to leave this area alone. She no longer had the drive to steal love from the Pixie lands because of two reasons. The first was Ghetsis knocking her down and the second was the compassion from the Fairy-Types themselves.
She returned to the hive with her healed up changelings, glad that they were alive and alright. But now, she had a new thought circling inside of her mind. Once this alliance ends, it was hard to tell if Ghetsis meant that he'll just leave them behind or obliterate them all.
Nevertheless, Chrysalis was scared for the future. Whatever Ghetsis and Team Plasma does next is a potential living nightmare as the journey continues.
...
Undella Town, Unova.
It was another one of those days. The day where Celestia is allowed to kick back, relax and take a load off. Thanks to her saving both worlds, she was allowed to take a break as many times as she wants.
Although, she does it very rarely since she cares about her subjects and all of Equestria so much. But she wasn't afraid to take a break once in a while. And what better place other than Alola to break in than Undella Town. The town of rippling waves.
"Here we are, Passion. Arcanine. Undella Town." Celestia spoke. She looked over at the many villas that weren't occupied at all. Normally, Undella Town is visited for summer vacations so the villas are unused until summer arrives.
But at the moment it wasn't summer. That didn't stop Celestia from choosing this place as her relaxation spot. Plus, the sun here is extra hot today so it was worth staying here.
Celestia brought along a chair where she could just lay on her back take in the golden sun of Unova all day long. She wasn't really planning on doing that much today. She was just going to take things slow and easy until the day ends.
Arcanine went off to lay in the sand and roll around it whilst Passion stayed next to Celestia at all times. Celestia laid the chair down, resting on as she brought along her sunglasses to fit the mood.
"Ah...There's something about the Pokemon world that gives me a special warmth." Celestia took a deep breath.
"Kirlia." Passion nodded in agreement.
"It really is a perfect place to just calm your nerves and recline."
"It truly is." A familiar voice replied to her.
Celestia turned her head to the right, seeing who it was that replied to her. She was obviously expecting a human of course, but the human, in particular, was someone she's seen before and heard about.
Cynthia.
She was also in the same position as Celestia with sunglass on as well. The Champion of Sinnoh turned around to spot the Ruler of Equestria sitting right next to her as they were finally meeting each other for the very first time.
"...Cynthia?!" Celestia stood up.
"Princess Celestia?!" So did Cynthia.
"I didn't expect to see you here. Are you here to relax as well?"
"I sure am. But, your presence here surprises me more than anything. I would've thought you were back at Canterlot, occupied."
"I could say the same thing for you. I assumed you were at the Pokemon School since you're the Principal there."
"The school isn't open on weekends so this is one of the few times I'm away from it. And I couldn't help coming back here again."
"I see. Do any of these villas belong to you by any chance?"
"Mhm. I have my own personal villa instead of a rented one. Undella Town is where I can just get away from it all. Although...for the most part."
"Hm? Why? Does something happen here that interrupts your break?"
"One consistent thing. Trainers constantly coming here to challenge me. It's hard to catch a break when you're a champion. Everyone is always seeking you. I've had possibly a hundred challengers come here constantly. I hope the other champions don't have it as rough." Cynthia sighed.
"Well, one of them certainly does. Ash has managed to have as much free time as he wants whilst being both a champion in his world and hero throughout all of Equestria."
"Oh, you know Ash? I'm not surprised by that at all." Cynthia nodded. "But I didn't know he was a hero in your world."
"Oh, he is. And for many reasons. But I've never seen a hundred trainers challenge him. Usually, he just enjoys spending time in Equestria with his friends and he occasionally battles."
"That's good. It's nice that Ash is living his best life with a ton of freedom. Wish I could say the same for me."
"Why not change your vacation spot? I hear that Alola is a perfect place to relax. I've been there once with my sister and it truly does feel like a familiar place."
"Alola does sound nice..." Cynthia thought about it for a bit. "But then again, they always find me one way or another. And I predict in a few hours, another trainer will arrive."
"Well, I can see you also have a lot of weight to hold. Apologies if being a principal at the Pokemon School makes it worse."
"It doesn't. After all, I asked to be the principal myself. Teaching a whole other world about Pokemon is something I never knew I would end up taking an interest in. I don't regret it for a second."
"I wish it was that easy when I became the ruler of Equestria." Celestia looked to the side.
"Was it not?" Cynthia asked.
"Sadly no." Celestia sighed, looking up at the sky. "If anything, I was hesitant, skittish, volatile and just overall scared. But at the same time excited and happy."
Celestia started to reminisce the day she became a true princess and the ruler of all of Equestria. It was one of those many memories that never left her mind for a second since it was such an important moment in her life.
If it wasn't for the encouraging words of my family, I would've never been able to put on that crown and tackle the grand life that was approaching my way.
A young Princess Celestia who was about Twilight's current age sat a table with a mirror in front of her.
Her mane at this point wasn't ethereal or cosmic at all. But, she was an alicorn along with her parents. In her hooves, she held a golden crown that had a purple gem inside of it. Her mother Sunlight once wore this crown, and the gem inside was a gift from a certain siren that Sunlight met.
The young alicorn was shaking uncontrollably as she looked at the mirror, unsure if she was ready to be a real princess. She whimpered and looked down at her crown, having seconds thoughts about all of this.
Her mother and father, Sunlight and Eventide came through the door, wondering why their daughter was taking so long.
"Celestia? You've been in here for a while now. Everypony is waiting outside to see you be crowned as ruler of Equestria." Sunlight said.
"Is something the matter?" Eventide asked.
"Well, I...I..." Celestia stumbled on her words. "I'm just surprised that I've made it this far in my life. I'm not sure how to feel right now."
"Ah. Nervous are we? I see." Eventide nodded.
"Celestia, dear. We knew something like this would happen eventually. Especially today." Sunlight walked up to her daughter. "Remember?"
"I remember. You and father couldn't sit still for a second. The crowning coronation was almost a complete disaster."
"...Yes. You don't need to remind us..." Eventide turned around, sighing. "I hope the future coronations don't end being disastrous as ours.
"Even though it was a complete mess, do you recall how you and your little sister Luna were there to support us both?"
"I do. You both looked silly throughout it all." Celestia laughed, recalling some hilarious moments. "But, Luna and I were happy that you two ended up becoming so important. After all, you told me that you've never dreamt of reaching this point in your life."
"Indeed." Eventide went over to the two of them. "Your mother and I were of two completely different origins. She's is of royal blood and I was just an average pony."
"But when we crossed paths one day and ended up together, we only had our sights set on a simple and peaceful future. And as time went on, we had you and later on, Luna. Even though I have royal blood within me, I was never meant to be the ruler of Equestria in the first place."
"You weren't?"
"No. Even when marrying your father. I was inconsistent with my studies, wandering off to enjoy the simple things in life and such. My teachers would always scold me once I returned. My parents already knew that from the way I behaved, I wasn't exactly fit to be a princess."
"And when I came along, she spent more time with me than her studies." Eventide explained. "And when you and Luna were born, we almost forgot about everything else and only put all of our focus onto you two."
"You did spend a lot of time with Luna and me." Celestia nodded. "But when you two became alicorns, you were always so busy. I only saw you during the morning and the evening." She lowered her head.
"And I suppose that is one of the reasons why you are so hesitant, right?" Eventide questioned.
"Yes. If I become the ruler of Equestria...will I ever get to see my friends again?" Celestia whimpered, holding the crown close to her. "I don't know if I want to be crowned."
"Celestia. Time and time again, you've proven to overcome any obstacle that comes your way even when we weren't there. And even when you struggled, you had us and Luna to support you. Just like how the two of you supported us at our coronation, we shall support you as well."
"Really?"
"Really. And when Luna is crowned, we shall give even greater support to her without question." Eventide nodded.
"Thank you. Mother. Father. I think I'm ready."
On that day, Princess Celestia became the official ruler of Equestria. It wasn't just her family that supported her. Even her own friends and teachers did the same, only boosting her confidence. Celestia would've been a completely different pony if it wasn't for the ones close to her helping the young princess become the pony that she is today.
"Just thinking about makes me so nostalgic." Celestia closed her eyes before opening them again. "Oh, sorry. I supposed I rambled on long enough."
"I quite enjoyed that. Sounds like you've had an eventful life after that." Cynthia replied.
"Eventful is an understatement. In fact, I would even say that the past doesn't compare to the present day. Pokemon are on a completely different level." Celestia picked up Passion with her hooves. "Meeting Passion is one of them. She's without a doubt one of the greatest things to ever happen in my entire life."
"Kir!" Passion put her arms on Celestia's face, mushing it around as they both laughed.
"I can see that you and your Kirlia are very close. Reminds me of how Garchomp when she was still a Gible."
"Kir. Kirlia!"
"Passion and I were close the moment we first met in Lilycove City. But it wasn't until her power started to become unstable that we really became closer as a duo."
"Lia!"
"Well. Laying around is relaxing, but I feel like taking part in some activities. What is there to do here in Undella Town, actually?"
"Well, apart from the trainers coming here for a battle, Undella is a fairly laid-back area. There isn't much to do than just relax. It is a vacation spot after all."
"I suppose so. Passion. Why don't we go for a small swim then?"
"Kirlia!" Passion liked the sound of that.
The two of them spent their time in the sea, taking in the soothing aura that it's filled with. Cynthia sent out her Milotic to swim with them. They started having a generally good time with nothing but peace filling the air.
However, that would all change soon with the presence of two particular individuals. Lucien and Sienna. For once they weren't hanging around a cloud in Equestria. Instead, they had decided to interact with Celestia herself. Or rather, Sienna decided since this was her plan.
The Rift duo were now on a Unova cloud instead, observing Celestia and also Cynthia who they were a bit intimidated by for obvious reasons.
"Alright, Sienna. This is Princess Celestia we're talking about. So whatever your plan is, it has to be effective enough to match Celestia's skills." Lucien said to her.
"Oh, it will be. Hear me out on this. I say we do something we only tried once and never again." Sienna raised her finger.
"Like what exactly?"
"Remember that time I almost ruined the day the CMC got their Cutie Marks?"
"Oh, yeah. I remember. You created a creature that's formed by someone's obsessions or struggles and it drains their life force. By accident of course."
"That's the one! Best idea I've had if I do say so myself." Sienna stood up with pride. "But it didn't last that long. So I'll just make it happen for real this time. And I'll go a step further!"
"Step further? What are you gonna do?"
"Well. How about...oh! They have one goal in mind. To gain a complete body from the host they were created from! After all, they're just living energy. So they're not that physical."
"Huh...that does sound pretty eventful. But what can they even do? They can't just walk around mindlessly."
"Hehehe. They're mindless for sure. But they've got some neat abilities with them! Let's start small first!" Sienna raised her hands, scattering three cosmic rays that went towards Undella, Humilau City which was right near Undella and Route 13 which was north from here
The three humans were hit by these rays, unaware that they were even affected since the rays don't cause any shock or impact when they enter someone. As such, they all went on with their day, oblivious to what was about to occur based on their own emotions and desires.
Humilau City was the first to be affected. A city with a population of only 32, making it a medium-sized city by Unova standards. Despite it being a resort city with calm and sparkling seas, one human was a bit uneasy. Besides everyone here who are always laid back and calm, this human was an exception for one reason.
A woman who was obsessed with a TV show she desired to be a success. This TV was small and new since she made it herself. However, it wasn't gaining any traction whatsoever. And it had been 2 months now with no attention given to it.
"Still nothing..." The woman sighed as she held her Poke Ball. "What am I doing wrong?"
The woman felt like her dream show wouldn't go anywhere at all. That it will be left in the dust forever in obscurity. That negativity and desire to be big formed the first entity.
Just like before, the creature looked exactly like the host it had been formed from. However, they had no face whatsoever. They were only a body outline made out of cosmic energy.
The entity forced itself out of the woman, causing her to fall on her back due to the sheer force of the energy-releasing out of her. She looked up in shock to see this unexplained apparition that looked exactly like her in every way shape and form. Minus the face.
"W-What are you?!" She stammered as her Corphish came out of the Poke Ball to defend its trainer.
"Corphish!"
"Dream big..." The entity suddenly spoke. It sounded exactly like the woman only with a slightly distorted voice that sounded like 7 voices in one.
The word Dream big was all it kept on saying. It was only uttering those words due to the woman's dream to be big on television. This only confused the woman even further as she had no idea how to react.
The entity began working on a way to obtain a complete body. And that's when Sienna's extra touch came in. When she said that they have abilities with them, she wasn't lying at all. Due to the woman's relation with TV, this entity had the ability to convert itself into electrons and teleport with them.
The entity transformed into living electrons, heading inside of the woman's TV, it was capable of tampering with every piece of electricity in the entire city. The inside of the woman's house had lost of all of its power, causing her bulb to explode.
Even her fridge, microwave, vacuum cleaner and other appliances were ruined by this entity's influence and abilities. And it looked like she was powerless to stop it along with her Corphish who had no idea what to attack.
She screamed as everything containing electricity was being obliterated left and right. The camera she used to film herself had been blown up by the entity's actions.
But of course, the creatures had the ability to steal the life force of the host they came from. And they all had their own way of doing it. For this particular entity, it turned on the TV, showing the woman her TV show that never made it big.
The entity could absorb the life force of its host by simply letting her watch the show. But it didn't stop with its host. It immediately went for every TV in Humilau, turning every single one of them on.
Anyone who watched the video would end up having their life force being slowly taken away from them. And after that, they would end up in a catatonic state. This was what the woman wanted in the first place. For everyone to see her TV show.
But not like this.
For the other two humans nearby, their entities had already been formed faster the woman's entity.
One young trainer on Route 13 had created an entity based on his desire to beat Cynthia herself, much like most trainers who come to Undella Town. Although, this trainer had actually battled Cynthia a few times and was coming back for a rematch in hopes of winning.
His entity was a representation of himself. But since he was a Pokemon Trainer, he came equipped with Poke Balls to represent the perfect team that he trained for Cynthia. This entity had an Omnidirectional Vision that allowed it to see in multiple places at once.
This vision ability represented his plan to defeat Cynthia as it was looking in all directions to watch out for any of Cynthia's Pokemon due to how strong and fast they were.
And the final human had their entity formed. A man who was stressed out from working at his job to support both his girlfriend and himself. He was a worker who worked at Driftveil City's Cold Storage. A warehouse where many perishable products were being kept.
He had to wake up at 5:00 in the morning and come home at 9:00 in the night. His job wasn't very kind to him. He could barely spend time with his lover who he constantly supported.
However, his time in the Cold Storage was really starting to get to him. Each time he returned home, he could always feel the chill of the storage flow through his body.
As such, the entity created from him had access to Ice-Type Pokemon and even some Cryokinesis.
These three entities got to work. The young trainer's entity set off to recklessly battle anyone it comes across on. It wouldn't care about collateral damage as it just wanted to get stronger.
And as for the worker's entity, it was planning on freezing most of Undella and Humilau and possibly all of Unova if it grows stronger.
"Done and done!" Sienna dusted her hands. "Once these three are defeated, we can use more of these living desires..." That's when she came up with the perfect name for the entities. "That's it! I'll call them Desires!"
"Desires huh...? I could've come up with something better." Lucien was not impressed.
The two Desires of the man and woman had already made some progress on their actions with most of the electronics being destroyed one by one along with Humilau City being slowly frozen over.
The young trainer's Desire had actually come across some Fishermen who were just minding their own business until the Desire decided to battle them.
The Fishermen were a bit confused on what they were looking at as they didn't really have the spirit to take on this odd walking energy creature. However, their Pokemon were there to defend them.
What fills up this Desire is that whenever it defeats someone in a Pokemon Battle, it takes some of their life force to complete its body.
The Desire sent out a Beartic that belongs to the original host. But there was something off about this Beartic. This Beartic had the same cosmic outline as the Desire, however, it actually had the visible body of a Beartic inside of being an outline.
The Pokemon belonging to the Fishermen were all defeated quickly by the fake Beartic with just a single Freeze Dry, which was a move that was even super-effective on Water-Types.
When the Beartic battled, it battled recklessly to a point where the entire Route had taken some damage with Beartic's ferocious Ice-Type moves. The way this Desire battled was not like a usual Pokemon Trainer. For starters, it even commanded the Beartic to attack the trainers themselves. Not just their Pokemon.
As a result, it ends causing great harm to others without any sense of its surroundings. All of Route 16 had been frozen over by Beartic's destructive moves as ordered by the Desire.
With that victory, the Desire had taken some of the life force of the Fishermen it had defeated, making its way towards Undella. And if it anyone else ends up seeing it, the Desire will go up against them as all well for the sake of victory.
The original host of the trainer was on the ground as he had fainted from the Desire coming out of his body. He woke up, wondering what had just happened as he looked around his surroundings.
"...What was that...?" The trainer held his head. He noticed up ahead that the entire Route had been frozen over along with the Fishermen currently being in a catatonic state with a bit of their life force missing from them.
He was unaware that an apparition of himself was on the loose, battling anyone it came across without any care whatsoever.
"Kir!" Passion could sense something wrong. Her being the emotion Pokemon made her notice that there was an odd mixture of emotions nearby.
From what Passion could tell, the emotions were moving as if they were sentient. And in fact, they were. She turned around to see the first Desire arrive. That being the young trainer's.
The Desire simply stood there with a lifeless stance. Cosmic sparkles flowed out of its body as it kept saying the word Victory over and over again. Its cosmic body let out an unnatural noise that sounded like the universe itself howling endlessly.
"Kirlia! Kir!" Passion nudged Celestia, grabbing the attention of her trainer.
"What's wrong, Passion?" Celestia turned to the Emotion Pokemon.
"Lia!" Passion pointed her arms over at the Desire, showing it to Celestia.
"What is that thing?!" Celestia gasped, unsure of what she was looking at. From what she and Passion could tell, it was a living outline of someone's body filled with cosmic energy. Truly an odd sight to behold.
The Desire turned around, staring directly at Cynthia who was resting on her beach chair with an umbrella on top, completely unaware of the approaching cosmic being that was heading her way.
"Cynthia!" Celestia shouted her name as she teleported in front of the champion, grabbing her attention.
"What is it, Princess?" Cynthia sat up, taking off her glasses. She squinted her eyes to spot the Desire walking directly towards her and Celestia.
"Victory!" The Desire screamed as it stomped on the ground, putting a stop to its eerie movements as it had found the target it wanted. Cynthia.
All three of them had no idea what they were looking at. But Cynthia could slightly recognize the outline of the Desire as it reminded her of the trainer who had battled her before.
"What are you and what do you want?" Celestia questioned.
"Victory!" The Desire responded by raising its Poke Ball, only here to battle and nothing else. It was here to battle anything that stood in its way.
All the while, other locations near Undella were being affected by the other two Desires without Celestia and Cynthia even knowing. But they have their own problem to deal with.
With Celestia and Cynthia's downtime interrupted by this strange entity, Sienna's Desire plan has already proved to be fairly effective as many humans have fainted from having their life force's stolen from them. The Rift humans continued to spectate over this event to see how it will play out as the journey continues.
Undella Town, Unova.
Currently, Celestia and Cynthia had come face to face with a Desire. A strange entity that is formed from the obsession and negative emotions of the host they came from.
This Desire was based off a young trainer who wanted a rematch with Cynthia after losing so many times. And now that the Desire had found its target, Cynthia and only desired to defeat her by any means necessary. The Desire was mindless and didn't have the logical sense as its host, making it reckless and destructive.
"Why does it look so familiar..." Cynthia narrowed her eyes.
"You know this thing, Cynthia?" Celestia turned to her.
"I'm not sure. I recognize the outline of a trainer I've battled before but...I'm not sure why it has his outline?"
"It looks like a being made out of pure energy." Celestia noticed. "But what does it want?"
"Victory!" The Desire threw out a Poke Ball, sending the Fake Beartic out once more.
"Beartic!"
"It seems like it wants to battle. It even has the same Beartic from the last time I faced him." Cynthia stepped forward. "I'm still unsure of what you are but if it's a battle you want then I'll gladly accept. Come out, Lucario!"
Cynthia accepted the Desire's challenge by sending out the Aura Pokemon Lucario to face the Fake Beartic.
"Luca!"
"Passion. Stay far back." Celestia and her partner moved away to get some safe distance.
"Victory!" The Desire raised its hand, commanding Beartic to attack with Sheer Cold. A move capable of taking a Pokemon out in one hit.
"Bear!" Beartic's body became outlined in a light blue aura as it pulls its head back, opening its mouth. A spinning orb of bright blue energy forms in front of it. Beartic then fired a powerful light blue beam of energy with light blue snowflake-shaped sparkles from the orb at Lucario.
"Head in and use Close Combat!"
"Cario!" The Aura Pokemon narrowed his, eyes, using his ability to sense auras to dodge the beam of ice. Lucario moved at blinding speeds, appearing in front of the Freezing Pokemon, repeatedly smashing his paws and legs on Beartic's large body with fierce strikes.
Even with the ability to look in multiple directions, Lucario's Aura far exceeded that. The Desire's Omnidirectional vision couldn't compare to Aura.
"Tic!" The Fake Beartic was then launched into the air by Lucario's uppercut, dealing major damage to the Freezing Pokemon. "Bear..."
"Victory!" The Desire already knew how dangerous Cynthia could be and how nigh-impossible it was to beat her. So, to gain the upper hand, the Desire commanded Beartic to affect Undella Town itself.
Beartic had instead used Sheer Cold on the ground, spreading an absolute-zero chill across the entire town. And due to how potent the move was, it was spreading rapidly like wildfire.
"It's trying to freeze the entire town!" Celestia looked around her.
"Now I see...It looks like the trainer but it lacks the same heart like him. Lucario! Aura Sphere!"
"Lu...Ca!" Lucario puts his hands together, creating a blue ball of energy in between them. Lucario then fired the ball at Beartic as it tore through the frozen ground.
The Aura Sphere spun around, hitting Beartic's stomach as it stayed there for a bit. After that, the Aura Sphere blew up in front of Beartic, propelling the Freezing Pokemon back.
Beartic went so far that it even crashed into the Desire as they both fell on their back whilst Beartic had fainted. "Beartic..."
"V-Victory..." The Desire groaned.
The ice around Undella Town had stopped spreading due to Beartic's defeat. Not only was Beartic defeated but the Desire as well.
Its outlined body was starting to fade away with cosmic stardust floating into the air. Celestia and Cynthia watched as the strange entity vanished along with the Fake Beartic.
That Desire wanted to defeat Cynthia at all costs, but since it was the one that was defeated, it's ultimate goal had been foiled. The Desire returned to the original host, that being the young trainer who was still confused about what had happened to him earlier.
"That settles that. Good work, Lucario." Cynthia returned her Lucario.
"Cynthia. You said that it lacks the same heart like him. What do you mean by that?"
"I'm not an expert at magic like you, Princess. But from what I can tell, that was meant to be a representation of him. That trainer has always wanted to defeat me time and time again. And I suppose when that thing kept on screaming Victory, it represented that drive to win."
"So then...It's a being made out of desires?"
"That looks to be the case. But where did it come from?" Cynthia wondered.
"I think I may know where. If that being was outlined by cosmic energy then that can only mean one thing..." Celestia already knew what could've caused this.
But what she and Cynthia didn't know was that there were two other Desire's wreaking havoc nearby Undella and Humilau City. Compared to the trainer, these two desires were much stronger in every way.
The trainer's Desire obviously wanted to defeat Cynthia, but that was a desire of many trainers so it wasn't as strong. He even knew that he could just improve over time so the Desire wasn't that powerful in the first place. But these other Desire's come from hosts with personal issues that make them far stronger than the young trainer's.
For the man who was stressed out, his Desire had done a better job at freezing everything than Beartic. The Desire's ability to manipulate ice had frozen everyone in Humilau City, including its own host.
It wasn't long until Celestia and Cynthia noticed the cloud of ice rising from the East near Humilau City. They assumed it was Beartic, but Beartic had just vanished along with the Desire.
"More ice?!" Cynthia gasped.
"Something is wrong here." Celestia spread her wings as she sighed. "So much for some relaxation. Arcanine!"
"Canine?!" Arcanine sat up from the sand.
"I'll need your help in putting out the ice."
"Arca!" Arcanine nodded in understanding as he already got to work. By using Flamethrower, Arcanine melted away the ice that filled most of Undella Town. The Legendary Pokemon was definitely the right Pokemon for the job thanks to his intense heat.
"Cynthia. Could you please assist me?" Celestia asked.
"But of course. People over at Humilau City might be in danger if that cloud of ice is anything to go by. Lucario. I need your help once more."
For a second time, Lucario was sent out to assist in stopping this sudden and unexpected disaster. Both Celestia and Cynthia knew that there wasn't any time for idle chit chat. There was a problem occurring and it had to be stopped before it accelerates and gets worse.
All the while, Sienna felt proud of her work. It was going well so far. And this was only the beginning. "See, Lucien? The Desires are already putting in a ton of work. Humilau City's been frozen over and a bunch of people are passing out from watching that one TV show. I'd say I did a pretty good job, eh?"
"I mean, it is impressive. But what's up with the way they lose?" Lucien scratched his head.
"What do you mean by that?"
"That Desire based on the trainer. Once that Fake Beartic crashed into it, that was the end of it. Is that how they're all beaten?"
"Well..." Sienna puffed her cheeks. "Not really, they uh..."
"You haven't really thought these Desire things through have you?"
"No. I had the idea and what they can do but...I didn't think about how they lose. I'm still working on them, okay? Besides, these are the first three early ones. The future Desires are gonna be much better."
"I guess so. Alright, how about this? After they deal with these Desires, we work on them together and perfect them for future purposes. Sound good?" Lucien placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah! It does! This is gonna be my big breakthrough!" Sienna laughed with confidence.
Humilau City was an absolute mess. With everyone suffering from a horrible cold along with the city's power supply being destroyed along with some of them fainting on the spot, the city looked like it was on the verge of falling apart.
The two hosts who were affected by Sienna and had their Desire's manifest had also fainted. The woman's Corphish was trying to wake her up whilst the man's lover did her best to keep him warm.
Since Humilau City is known for its Water-Type Pokemon, none of them had moves that could deal with the frozen landscape around them. And they certainly couldn't handle anything electricity-related.
It looked like there wasn't anything that could help the people living here as the Desires had already taken a large amount of their life force.
The Desires were slowly regaining a physical form instead of being an outline of their host. With each life force they stole, they started to gain eyes, nose and a mouth, showing that eventually, they will have the full appearance of the host they came from. Potentially even replacing them.
However, there was hope coming their way in the form of Princess Celestia and Cynthia. Arcanine and Lucario were successfully destroying and melting the ice with Close Combat and Flamethrower.
The closer they got to Humilau, the colder it became. Passion started to feel a chill run through her body. She didn't have the same resistances as Lucario and Arcanine.
"K-Kirlia..." She shuddered.
"Here you go, Passion." Celestia used her magic to place a protective barrier around the Emotion Pokemon, shielding her from the cold and keeping her warm.
"Kirl."
They had finally reached Humilau City as it looked like an entire artic area at this point. Nothing but ice everywhere. Even the buildings had been frozen over along with the trees and parts of the lake.
"This is horrible. What could have caused all of this?" said Cynthia.
"Lu!" Lucario could sense something coming this way with his Aura. He got in front of everyone, prepared to defend them from whatever was around the corner.
What Lucario felt was none other than the Desire of the stressed-out man. It had a slightly different appearance due to its relation to ice. Snowflakes were flowing out of its body as well as the usual cosmic stardust.
Like the young trainer's Desire, it kept on saying one single word that related to the host's struggles and how he spent too much time at work and not enough with his lover. "Longer!"
"Another one?" Celestia pulled back.
This Desire was a bit more violent than the previous one. In which it attacked others by itself without using the Ice Pokemon that it had at its disposal.
The Desire ran over to Lucario and the others, outstretching its arms out so that it could freeze them all as it did to everyone else in Humilau.
"Lucario! Aura Sphere!"
"Cario!" The Aura Pokemon defended everyone from harm by blasting a ball of concentrated Aura towards the approaching Desire.
Just like Beartic, the Aura Sphere was capable of knocking it back. However, unlike Beartic, this Desire was still standing. The host it came from had stronger emotions than the trainer, making it much more resilient.
The Desire put its arm out, manipulating the ice around the entire town with just a single hand. Sharp pillars of ice erupted from the ground, racing towards Lucario and the others as they tore through other ice blocks.
"Lucario! Close Combat!"
"Arcanine! Flamethrower!"
Both Lucario and Arcanine pushed back the approaching ice pillars, protecting their trainers from any harm. The Desire then manipulated the ice from beneath them all as it planned to strike a pillar at them from where they stood. Lucario was able to sense this as he used Close Combat on the ground, shattering the ice they stood on.
"Passion! Use Mystical Fire!" Celestia commanded her Kirlia.
"Kirlia!" The Emotion Pokemon raised its arms, sending a spiral of fire imbued with mystical energy as it tore through the ice, melting it down.
The Mystical Fire engulfed the Desire, causing it to wail a small bit. Once the fire disappeared, the Desire got on its knees, dropping ice cubes from its body. The Desire looked up at them as its anger was building. The anger of the Desire was also related to the stress the host felt.
"Longer...!" The Desire groaned as he struggled to get up from the ground.
"Just like before...it's repeating one single word." Cynthia noticed.
"Longer!" The Desire was emanating stressful emotions as the Aura Sphere and Mystical Fire managed to greatly weaken it, showing just how unfinished Sienna's plan was.
"Kir?" That's when Passion noticed it. The emotions coming out from the Desire's body. The Emotion Pokemon went up to the Desire all of a sudden as if the emotions were calling to her.
"Luca?" The same could be said for Lucario. Being able to sense others Aura's meant that it read anyone's feelings with aura waves. But unlike Passion, he didn't approach the Desire.
"Wait, Passion! Don't approach it!" Celestia attempted to stop Passion from getting closer to the Desire. But Passion used a tiny bit of the telepathy she was able to maintain, telling Celestia that it was fine.
Celestia took Passion's word for it since it sounded like she knew what she was doing.
Passion looked up the Desire as it looked down at her as well, preparing to freeze her completely. The Emotion Pokemon raised her hands, touching the face of the entity.
Once Passion made contact with the Desire, she was able to connect her mind with the thoughts of the manifested emotion. Her eyes flashed white as she entered a state of Legilimency.
"What is she doing?" Cynthia wondered.
"Passion's using her magic to read the entity's emotions. Perhaps, she feels something from it." Celestia explained.
"Kirlia..." Through Passion's eyes, she could see a vision of the original host. She saw how the host was working at the Cold Storage in Driftveil City. Not only that but she could hear the words coming from the vision as they went like this.
"You look a bit spent there, pal." One of the Cold Storage workers went up to the host. "Are you doing okay?"
"I'm fine." The host replied, sighing. "Just a bit exhausted..."
"A bit is an understatement. You've been acting like this for a few weeks now. You certainly weren't this spent when you first started."
"Yeah, I know. I've only been working here for 5 weeks and I'm already acting like a fool."
"Is there something wrong? You can tell us ya know. We're all friends here in this storage." He placed his hand on the host's shoulder.
"Well, to tell you the truth...I'm not sure that I can really handle all of this. Every time I finish working here, I head home and help my lover for the entire night."
"That doesn't sound so bad."
"You don't understand. We finish at 20:00, I get home by 21:30. My girlfriend's been a bit under the weather lately. So I have to stay up all night, taking care of her. I only ever get to sleep at 3 in the morning. After that, I wake up at 5:00 and arrive here by 6:30." He explained his time cycle.
"Oh. That's rough. I had no idea you had such a tight schedule and a girl you had to take care off for that long."
"Yeah. It took me until the fifth day to realize." The host held his head. "Plus...it's freezing here." He shuddered.
"Why don't you ask the chief to cut your time short?"
"I can't cut my time short. I work as a transporter. I gotta get stuff from all across Unova and bring it back here after all."
"Ah, I see. And moving around Unova takes a lot of time too. Well, the boss is fairly nice so maybe he can change up your role. But uh...that would mean another poor soul would have to be the transporter."
"I just want to get through this entire job from start to finish. That way, I'll have enough money to start my own store someday."
"Your own store? What is it?"
"I wanna be in the night entertainment business. Right at Nimbasa City. But...reaching that goal while she's ill...I'm not so sure now."
"Well, good luck anyway." He patted the host on the back. "Wish you and your lover well. Hope you get to be big in Nimbasa City one day."
"Yeah. Thanks..."
After that, Passion's eyes returned to normal. She saw everything she needed to see. Now she understood what this entity was meant to be and how to possibly solve this. "
"Kirlia! Kirl!" Passion attempted to use her telepathy to tell Celestia what she had just discovered. Unfortunately, it only lasts 3 seconds as of now.
Lucario however, could be her translator, thanks to his Aura Waves. "Luca?" He spoke to her.
"Kirlia!" Passion explained what she saw to Lucario, asking that he tells them what she found out.
"Lucario..." Lucario used his Aura Waves to inform Cynthia about Passion's discovery, giving her the necessary knowledge.
"I see..." Cynthia nodded.
"Hm? See what exactly?" Celestia turned to her.
"It seems that this entity isn't just a representation of their desires. But also their struggles. Manifested into one single being."
"So then...what does the host struggle with it?"
"From what Lucario told me, a stressful life where he has to handle his work and lover whilst also dealing with the harsh chill of the workplace. That would explain the ice."
"I see." Celestia nodded. "Excellent work, Passion."
"Kir!"
"Longer..." The Desire had been affected by Passion's magic, making it feel a bit uneasy.
"I'll handle it from here." Cynthia approached the Desire, knowing how to handle this type of situation since she's seen it before.
"Longer...!" The Desire was about to attack Cynthia whilst Lucario prepared to attack at any moment.
"I know you aren't really the actual person. Just the manifestation." Cynthia kneeled, coming face to face with the Desire to talk to it. "Your dream is to work in Nimbasa City, right?"
"Longer...?"
"But your lover is ill. And she needs you just as much as you need her."
"Longer..." The Desire looked down.
"Talk to your boss. If he is a nice person as they say, then he'll possibly work something out for you. After all, you're still new to this job, aren't you?"
"Longer..." The Desire knew that what Cynthia said was true. The original host couldn't feel this, but once the Desire returns, the man will be able to change things up by doing one single action. In truth, the host didn't really dislike his job. He just wanted to find some time to take care of his lover whilst also making enough money to make his dream come true.
The Desire was not defeated by attacks but instead Cynthia's words of encouragement. Those words made the Desire find a resolution as it was ready to return to its host. With the Desire being calmed down and reasoned with, the ice that surrounded all of Humilau had melted away into nothing, freeing those that were trapped within the ice.
Celestia was amazed at how Cynthia was able to solve this issue by just simply talking to the Desire. They didn't even need to resort to any drastic measures at all.
"Kir." But it wasn't over yet. Passion could feel one final emotion nearby that was also linked to a Desire. Except, this one was more hidden. She spoke to Lucario, telling him what she was currently feeling.
"Luca." Lucario nodded in understanding as he sent Aura Waves towards Cynthia's direction.
"There's one final emotion?" Cynthia said.
"If there is one other person with a manifested emotion left. Then all we'll have to do is reach them as well. Lead the way, Passion." Celestia looked over at her partner.
"Kirlia!" Passion nodded as she tracked down the final Desire by sensing its emotions. Humilau City was small, so their target wasn't that far at all.
Inside of the woman's home, her Corphish was doing its best to wake her up by using Water Gun repeatedly. But in this catatonic state, that move wouldn't work so well.
"Cor!"
The Desire had already manipulated every electronic object in Humilau City. The rapid-moving electrons it emitted were constantly growing. Very soon, they'll end up reaching a point where the electrons can affect other towns and cities.
Passion entered the house, grabbing the attention of Corphish.
"Phish!"
"It's alright, Corphish. We're not here to cause any trouble." Cynthia spoke to the Ruffian Pokemon. "But we are here to help your trainer."
"Corphish..."
All of a sudden, the TV started to spark, indicating that the electrons had increased in power once more. The TV was the Desire's main location since it's based on its host's dream.
"Lia!" Passion pointed her arms over at the TV, finding where the Desire was hiding.
"It's hiding inside of the TV? Just like a Rotom." Cynthia's eyes widened. "It won't be easy taking it out of the TV. None of my Pokemon have the ability to do that."
"But Passion does. There is only one way to force it out. Passion! Combine Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt to unleash Plasma!" Celestia ordered.
"Kirlia!" Passion held her hands together, combining two moves into one. She formed her signature plasma together but she held it back due to her being inside of a small house. Passion fired the small bolt of plasma at the TV, causing the electrons to go haywire.
The electrons couldn't handle Passion's plasma due to how volatile and reactive it was. As such, the Desire who hid inside of the TV had been hit with millions of volts hotter than the sun.
The Desire had been forced out of the TV, falling on the floor as it wailed and repeated one single world like the others. That being "Dream big...".
However, it was capable of saying two more words that expressed her struggle and what she desired the most. "Keep...watching!"
"Now, Passion. Look into it."
"Kirlia!" Passion went over to the fallen Desire, preparing herself to connect with the host to see what she was struggling with. With her hands touching the Desire's face and her eyes lighting up, Passion had a vision of the same area they were currently all standing in.
The woman had her camera with her along with her partner Corphish by her side. She had always dreamed of making it big in TV media as a young girl. And now that she was finally able to officially sign a contract, she could make the show of her dreams.
However, over the past 2 months, her show hadn't reached the level she was expecting with barely any traction. Practically no one had seen her show at all through the TV. And the ones that did only saw a small glimpse and then changed the channel afterwards.
But despite all of that, she continued to work on the show by herself. The only one there to support her was Corphish. She was hoping that one day, someone could sit through her show and watch it all. Even if they don't end up enjoying it.
However, she had reached a point where she was starting to lose hope. She believed that no one would watch her show ever. Not even once.
The woman sighed, holding the camera in her hands as she placed it on the table. "Still nothing. No ratings or anything. Am I doing something wrong?"
"Phish." Corphish patted her on the back to comfort her.
"Thanks, Corphish. Glad you're here to help. After all, it's still a new show so there's no need to lose hope yet. Maybe if we switch things up a bit. But I'm not sure what everyone would enjoy watching..." She grumbled.
"Cor."
"Maybe if-" She stood up, thinking she had an idea. "No...That won't work." She sat back down, sighing as she held her head in frustration."
Her show was an anthology series. A show containing different stories with different characters in each episode. There wasn't a continuous story. It was just segments of short stories contained into one show.
However, these short stories found zero success. That was because the cast size was very limited since it was just her, Corphish. But originally, she asked some of her old friends from school to help out with her show.
However, they declined as they didn't really want to involve themselves in the show since they had important things to do in their lives. They grew distant from her since they've found jobs that fill up so much time for them.
As such, the woman only had Corphish as a second actor. The stories she filmed only featured those two as she would have to make up an episode where it only showed them.
However, the woman wasn't really skilled at that. She was more experienced with multiple people after making home videos with her family. Being on her own with Corphish was just a huge step backwards as she couldn't really come up with any story ideas that involved just the two of them.
Her series only had 3 episodes so far due to the limited cast size she had and how many of her ideas couldn't be performed with just two cast members.
She had rarely been filming anymore, being stuck on 3 episodes. And her boss told her that if she doesn't continue the show, he'll, unfortunately, have to cancel it.
"What to do...What to do...?"
And that was all that Passion needed to see. Her eyes returned to normal as she turned around, telling Lucario to spread the information.
"Kirlia!"
"Luca." Lucario nodded, sending the waves to Cynthia.
"Hm. That does seem unfortunate. Having only a Corphish to help make a show for you." Cynthia said. "It seems this one is simply facing an issue that involves having little support and others to assist."
"Little support, you say?" Celestia thought for a moment. "Let me handle this one." Celestia decided to talk to this Desire herself since she had a bit of experience with something like this.
"Keep...watching!" The Desire attempted to scatter into electrons again and attack Celestia.
"I won't hurt you. Relax." Celestia calmed down the Desire by using an altered variant of the Royal Canterlot Voice. "Your TV show. It's missing cast members, is it?"
"Keep watching..." The Desire looked up.
"Hm. I recall having a friend who experienced a similar struggle once. Involving Manehattan and its many opportunities. She used to have the same issue as you. Not many ponies would assist her with her dream. And her friends were too busy to even involve themselves. As such, she almost gave up on it entirely."
"Dream...big..." The host could tell that this pony truly did share a similar experience to its host.
"However. She eventually found new ponies who were interested in her dream. These ponies offered to help her, making her lonesome dream much more populated. And those ponies ended up becoming her friends along the way. If she hadn't found new ponies to ask for help, her dream would've ended there."
"Keep...watching?"
"Your current friends may be too busy to involve themselves. However, you can find others to help you with your show. There's always going to be somepony interested in another ponies' dream. And who knows, you might make new friends along the way."
"Kirlia."
"Dream...big." The Desire realized that indeed, Celestia was right. The host has only ever known her friends from school for most of her life. Learning that they had important jobs that negated the chance of them assisting her.
It felt like her friends were becoming distant with her because of that. And with the failure of her show, she felt as if no one was really interested in it.
But after Celestia mentioned how there might be others out there who share a similar interest, that sparked the hope from within back up. After all, there are people out there who do enjoy Anthology shows.
The Desire felt at peace as it no longer had to force others to watch its show and steal their life force. It stood up, accepting its defeat and was ready to return into its host. When it does return to the woman, she'll have the idea of finding others to help be apart of her show.
Celestia and the others watched as the Desire peacefully returned inside of the woman's body as Corphish gawked at the sight of it.
"Cor..."
"Alright. Is that all of them, Passion?" Celestia asked.
"Kir!" Passion nodded. She couldn't sense any more Desires near or far. They had dealt with all of them.
"Good. Oh, dear..." Celestia sighed. "Perhaps the best vacation spot might be my room since nothing else happens in there."
"We're both tired, Princess Celestia. Why don't we head back to Undella? It's ice-free now."
"I suppose so. But won't that trainer be there by now?" Celestia said as she, Cynthia and their Pokemon left the woman's house.
"Oh. With the time we've been gone, he's probably left by now. Although...trainers can be very persistent and stay around forever." Cynthia scratched her face as Celestia laughed.
As they made their way back to Undella, chatting along the way, the woman woke up with Celestia's advice engraved in her mind.
"Phish?"
"Oh, Corphish. What was I doing, exactly?"
"Cor! Corphish!" Corphish tried to explain to her what had happened whilst she was unconscious. But Corphish was just glad to have his trainer back as he hugged her.
"Well, at least nothing bad happened to you while I was unconscious." She hugged Corphish. "Say...instead of our friends...why don't we find others to help us?"
"Cor?"
"Yeah...And if I catch more Pokemon, I'll be able to come up with Pokemon-centered stories featuring only Pokemon! And I suppose you would want to be the star, right Corphish?"
"Corphish!" Corphish liked the sound of being the main star of whatever story his trainer comes up with. He was happy that Celestia and the others had helped them. He won't forget them even if it was just a small encounter.
Celestia and Cynthia themselves had formed a small bond together. The time they had spent in Undella was the start of a somewhat mature and sophisticated friendship considering who they were and their backgrounds.
And this wouldn't be the last time they meet each other. With the Pokemon School being in Canterlot and Cynthia taking the role of Principal, it's safe to say that they'll be seeing each other again. Mostly on the weekends.
The Desire concept is still something that can be summoned at any time by Sienna. All she had to do was just spread the rays. The Rift humans will continue to spark up events that pique the Rift's interest and constantly put both humans, ponies and Pokemon to the test as the journey continues.
