Well, it's been a while since I updated this. Yeah, Unseen Events isn't really my main story to focus on, so I don't rush this. I also gotta point out that some dialogue is actually a combination of the English and what I could get from the Japanese or slightly altered so it works a little better with my story. Anyways, time for chapter 5!

The ship arrived in the new time period right after the Space Pirates obtained a new Cosmos Stone once again and there was nothing that the parents could do to stop them. That was all up to the kids really...

The most they could do was the Ancients sabotaging the Cosmos Stone detector they were forced to build. Despite usually being down for vandalism like that, Cretacia refused to temper with the machine at the moment. The meeting with Seth really did a number on her—he could so easily find out about any sabotages to the detector and make sure that one or more of them would be ejected into the time warp, never to be seen again. Holding back was the best thing they could do to keep the suspicion off of them.

Since they arrived in the new period, the pirates will soon come to pick the Ancients again, so the parents had to wait before they could work on their escape plan.

While waiting, the Taylors were standing by the glass door, looking out. "I'm starting to lose track of how many days we've been held captive here," Spike admitted. "I wonder if Max and the others are okay," Aki said, turning from the door to everyone—they were all sitting on the couches. The Drakes' heads were hanging down sadly.

Seeing them down like that, Cretacia got a quick kick and a dose of hype. "How about another game of charades?" she suggested, getting her husband and the Drakes to glance at her. "Dr. Cretacia... Sorry, but I'm not in the mood," Amano replied with a soft smile, "and Aki and Dr. Taylor always win anyway." "I'm just trying to keep everyone's spirits up," the blonde told her, "the kids are definitely fine. According to Spectre's complaints, they cause enough trouble for the Space Pirates to slow them down." "They have a talent for that," Spike chuckled. "We've got to have faith!"

"This shouldn't have happened," Trias uttered, "I'm sorry you all got caught up in this. We shouldn't have returned to your time to run away from the pirates-"

Suddenly the front door opened and two Gel Jarks entered the house. "Stand and follow us," the alien robots ordered. "All right, all right, we're coming," Ancient let out annoyedly as he and Cretacia stood up. "Bye, see you all later." The blonde waved at the others.

Ryu glanced at his wife. "I ought to go too and check up on the dinosaurs," he said as the two of them were tasked to take turns in taking care of the ship's dinosaurs. "Don't make a detour," Amano told him. "Aw, you don't have to worry about me," Ryu reassured her and pecked her cheek.

He got up and the Gel Jarks led him and the Ancients away. Once the door was heard, Spike turned to the two women. "Now close the curtains," he told them. They pulled the curtains over the glass door, dressing the room in near darkness, and they sat down at the table, getting back knitting the ladder.

Spike meanwhile pushed the TV stand and a carpet under it from their spots, revealing a doodle of their plan hanging on the wall and a hole in the floor. "When the Space Pirates are done with us, they're going to feed us to the dinosaurs, but that won't happen," he exclaimed, pulling two spoons out of his vest, "not with our foolproof escape plan." He jumped into the hole and started digging.

"It beats waiting around," Aki admitted. "Guess so," Amano agreed as they were knitting the ladder. "Now then, freedom is just a few thousand tablespoons away!" sounded from the hole.

While the three of them worked, something came to Amano's mind. "Dr. Taylor? What do you know about...this Seth person?" The digging stopped when Spike heard that question. "W-well... There's...a lot. Most of which I doubt you two wanna hear..." he noted. "It can't be that bad, can it?" Aki asked him. He peeked out of the hole at her, seeing her smile.

His eyes shifted away quickly. "He's...responsible for everything bad that happened this whole year. I don't know much about his history with the Ancients; only that he used to be their assistant and is the main reason why the time machine broke down and the Ancients were separated from Rex. He's manipulated and blackmailed Rod and Laura." He noticed Aki flinch in the corner of his eye and went quiet for a bit. "...he's obsessed with testing evolution and defying it. He is pretty much insane; nearly pulling Max into the time vortex, taking Zoe hostage for a plan straight out of a mind lunatic."

"He what?" Aki gasped upon hearing that. Spike looked at the two women in guilt from telling them. "Well, no one got hurt at least," he tried reassuring them.

The whole time, Amano just stayed quiet and continued kitting with a stone-cold expression on her face. The only thing showing any reaction from her eye twitching. She shook her head, shutting her eyes. "So, we are dealing with a maniac. No wonder Dr. Cretacia seemed so off after meeting with him."

A maniac indeed...

He entered the lab of the ship, catching the attention of the two paleontologists. "Well, Dr. Ancient? How's the Cosmos Stone detection device coming along?" he wondered as he made his way over to them. "It's coming," Trias replied, eyeing the man hatefully, "but I'm telling you, combining all the Cosmos Stones together is madness! Just look." He typed into the console, making three color-coded tubes with the stones inside them slide to the side. "Even with three Cosmos Stones online, the energy we're producing is off the scale!"

Seth just chuckled. "Each of the Stones seems to contain the power of an entire galaxy within it!" Trias continued. "Yes." The blue-haired turned to them with a smirk on his face. "And when all seven are together, the power will be so great that we'll be able to control time, which will allow us to create a new highly evolved dinosaur."

"That's crazy, Seth!" Cretacia snapped out at him, yet still hiding behind her husband. "She's right," Trias growled, "evolution is a natural occurrence. It's dangerous to trifle with it!" "Oh, ironic, isn't it? We've been over this in the past if I'm not mistaken," Seth mocked him, "but I'm not interested in your opinion. Just get back to work!" "Forget about that!" Trias objected.

"You can refuse all you want; all you'll achieve with that is angering Spectre and you know what that means," the blue-haired man warned them, "but go on, I'll gladly watch you suffer the consequences. Or watch the other four be punished for your actions to be exact. Which one should go first?" "Lay and finger on either of them and I'll kick your kneecaps again!" Cretacia screamed out and launched herself at him.

Trias reached out his arm in her way, stopping her. "Cretacia, no."

"Cretacia, yes!"

He turned to her and grabbed her shoulders. "This is what he wants; attacking him won't help anything, it'll only get us and the others in trouble." His eyes met with hers, begging her to calm down. She took a few deep breaths. "R-right... Sorry, darling," the blonde uttered, smiling at him softly.

"No matter how much you try, you'll slip at the end of the day," Seth said coldly, "you always do, Henry." Hearing that name, Trias' body shuddered and Cretacia jerked out of his grip, nearly jumping at Seth.

The blue-haired reached to a device on his wrist and pressed a button on it. As soon as he did it, the deep, off-tune voice echoed through the room. "Walking through the rain that pours~" Cretacia froze in place and covered her ears, groaning. "Ugh, that horrible singing again!" The singing continued for a bit until the green alien teleported into the room with his pet Apatosaurus in his arms.

"How dare anyone insult my beautiful singing voice?" Spectre shouted, "Brontikens loves it, and that's all that matters." He walked over to the three of them. "Now tell me, why isn't the Cosmos Stone locator working yet?"

The Ancients glared at the big man. They huffed and turned their backs towards the other two; Trias folded his arms on his chest.

"Huff and puff all you want," Spectre told them, "but I will harness the power of those four remaining stones with or without your help, and once I do, no one in the universe will be able to come between me and my dream of ruling all of time and space!" He cackled loudly with his eyes fixed on the three Cosmos Stones. He then shifted his attention to a different kind of treasure to his eyes, Seth. He cleared his throat, grinning at the human. "Us and our dream~" The alien leaned on the smaller man's shoulder while the human groaned quietly.

The Ancients glanced at them annoyedly. "And he gives us shit for being over-affectionate while working?" Cretacia complained. "Language, Cretacia," her husband hissed at her.

"You're in no position to speak!" Spectre snapped out, making the couple shudder. "They always speak when they shouldn't and can be quite rude," Seth informed him. Spectre's ears twitched and he shot a worried glare at the human. "Were they rude to you?"

Seth frowned confusedly but quickly smirked devilishly. "Yes. Yes, they were," he replied, "Cretacia threatened to kick my knees despite knowing that she injured my left knee in the past so much that it had to be replaced with a metal one." "WHAT?!" The Kai gasped, jerking back to the couple.

The alien towered over the two while Trias stood in front of Cretacia protectively. Seth peeked over Spectre's shoulder to give his former friend a cocky look. "I miss my left knee, Spectre... I miss it a lot," he mumbled mockingly, raising his middle finger to the brunet.

"You two are lucky that I don't make you Brontikens' new play toy," Spectre yelled at the humans, "now get back to work before I change my mind."

They didn't have much of a choice...so, they followed orders, working on radar while both Seth and Spectre observed them for likely hours.

It's been hours since Sheer left to the surface and she still hasn't reported back to the ship—not that it bothered her coworkers at all. Gavro was in the living room of the ship, working out with a dumbbell, while Foolscap was sitting on the couch, eating from another bag of chips he stole from the house.

Out of nowhere, the automatic door of the room opened and a Utahraptor burst in. The two jumped up, staring in shock. "What the-Where did this thing come from?" Foolscap squeaked. "Did it escape from the cages?" Gavro wondered.

The Utahraptor charged at Foolscap who flew high in the air, avoiding the dino. Gavro reached out to its tail, grabbing and pulling it back. The Utahraptor turned around to him, biting onto his gauntlet, however, he felt nothing and didn't even flinch.

"You take it back in its cage, I'll look at the camera footage," Foolscap told him, fleeing the room.

The slim man headed to the security room and once there, he found what he was looking for—footage from the dino room. He had to rewind a few hours back to see Drake chasing the Utahraptor with his needle on the footage. The dino ran away from him into a corridor, the man chased after it, but then was knocked out of the ship by the Utahraptor.

"Oh... Boss isn't going to like this..." Foolscap murmured, taking a small step back.

He made his way to the lab and stormed in. "Um, boss...?" he uttered. Spectre turned his attention from the working prisoners to his pirate. "You better have some news about Sheer," the boss told him. "Ah-N-no...! It's about-" "Then don't waste my time," Spectre interrupted him. "But boss-" "I don't wanna hear about another fucky wucky you or Gavro did!" "The guy with the needle is gone!" the pirate yelled at his boss, catching everyone's attention. The Ancients glanced at each other worriedly. "And a Utahraptor is on the loose," Foolscap added.

"Why didn't say so earlier?!" Spectre shouted at him, flying over to him at full speed. "W-well, I tried..." Foolscap grinned up at him nervously. The green alien growled angrily but quickly calmed down. He took a deep breath and spoke up, "Doesn't matter. He was one of the expendables. Go catch that Utahraptor and do not disturb me!" "Y-yes, sir!" Foolscap nodded and left the room as fast as possible.

Seth smirked at the Ancients. "See what happens when you two disobey?" he teased them, "let's see how well he can survive in the Age of Civil Wars." Cretacia was being held back by Trias, so she doesn't jump at that asshole.

The Ancients were soon escorted back into the house. Once they were basically thrown inside by the Gel Jarks and the door slammed behind them, Aki peeked into the hallway with a bright smile. "You're b-!" Cretacia suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled into the hallway and onto the staircase. "Wha-" "We've got some bad news," the blonde blurted out. The brunette's eyes widened worriedly. "What is it...?" she asked weakly, fearing the worst. "Dr. Drake is off the ship," Trias told her. "H-how...how did it happen?" "A dinosaur escaped its cage and knocked him off. We can't do much about that, so now the important thing is-" "Telling Amano," Aki finished for him. "Exactly."

"I'd say let's not talk about it for now," Cretacia suggested, surprising the other two. "Do you think that is the best idea, honey?" her husband wondered. "I agree with Cretacia on this," Aki said. "You do?" Trias looked at her confusedly. "Right now, Amano seems to have a hard time...processing what she just found out about that Seth guy...and what he's capable of," Aki explained, looking down, "and so do I..." "Alright then." Trias nodded.

Cretacia was still holding onto Aki's arm, so she felt how much it was shaking. She squeezed it reassuringly. "Hey, if you're ever scared of that piece of garbage, I have some embarrassing stories about him that make him a little less menacing," she chuckled mischievously. Aki smiled back. "Thanks." "You're welcome!" "Let's go to the others now," Trias decided, heading into the living room, followed by the two women.

Spike was crawling out of the hole when he saw them and grinned at them, his hat hanging from the corner of the TV. "Oh, hey! Anything new?" He brushed the dirt off of himself and covered up the hole. "1572, Japan—Age of Civil Wars," Trias said as he sat down on a couch, "no sign of the children yet." "They can't be far behind, right?" Aki wondered, standing behind the couch. "Yup!" Cretacia agreed, sliding next to the brunette, nudging her shoulder gently, "I bet we're gonna hear Spectre screaming at the three imbeciles for losing more dinos soon enough."

Meanwhile, Amano was sitting on the other couch in silence—the others noticed, yet couldn't do much. Cretacia frowned determinedly and made her way to the couch, leaning over it and poking Amano's cheek. "Poke!" she giggled. The taller woman quickly jerked her body, staring at the blonde. "What are you doing?" she questioned, her voice a little shaky. "Trying to make you smile," Cretacia replied. Amano tilted her head confusedly. "Um... Dr. Cretacia? Could you...not touch?" "O-oh! Sorry! Just thought I could cheer you up with that." "...At least...don't be so sneaky next time, okay?" Amano told her. "Right! And, hey, you don't have to 'doctor' me."

"I'm fine, just a little...spaced out, that's all." She took a deep breath. "Mrs. Drake, if there's anything bothering you, you can tell us," Spike spoke up, "if it's about Seth-" "It's not," she interrupted him, standing up from the couch, "it's just..." She looked at the bearded man with sincere concern. "What could've happened to my husband? He's been gone for hours! He said he was just going to go check on the dinosaurs. Yet, he hasn't come back."

Cretacia sat down beside Trias and nodded at Aki. The brunette leaned down to the two of them. "Dr. Ancient, maybe it's a good time to tell her about Dr. Drake," she suggested, getting curious glances from Spike and Amano. "From what we overheard; Dr. Drake isn't on the ship anymore."

Hearing that, Amano gasped loudly, covering her mouth with both hands. "Are you telling me he escaped?!" Spike asked him. "All we know is that he was supposedly knocked off the ship by accident." "That's not all!" Cretacia stepped it, "apparently...they can't find that girl pirate Sheer either and they've been looking everywhere for her!" While she was rapidly switching poses, a realization suddenly hit Aki. "If Dr. Drake's on the surface maybe he'll find Max and the others!" she said, resulting in the others gasping.

"And once he tells the kids where we are it won't be long before we're rescued!" Spike added. "It does seem likely to improve our chances," Trias agreed, making everyone smile at each other. "Let's cross our fingers," Aki murmured.

"If Ryu's down on the surface... he'll be able to get around just fine," Amano told everyone, "he's read everything about the history of Shoguns and samurai and the Age of Civil Wars." That's great!" Aki exclaimed and Amano nodded, "so, we could be out of here soon, and then we can reunite all our families again!"

"Until then, the main thing is to keep acting as normal as possible, so that Spectre doesn't suspect anything," Spike whispered. "Right!"

"Now, who wants to hear some embarrassing shit about Seth?" Cretacia asked. "Language," Trias and Aki snapped at her gently. Spike and Amano just glanced at one another and shrugged. "Sure, go ahead."

They talked until they all got tired and their next "night" on the ship started. Aki was lying on Spike who occupied one of the couches while Amano was curled up on the other one, trembling from time to time; the Ancients were left on guard this time. They were sitting at the table; Cretacia was armed with her scissors while Trias was holding onto a frying pan—despite knives being in the kitchen, he didn't feel comfortable holding one. The blonde's eyes slowly closed eventually, leaving Trias on guard alone at least for a little bit.

Out of nowhere, Cretacia stood up, however, still sleeping. She walked around the room and bumped into Amano's couch. With the shake of the couch, Amano's body shot up. She covered her face with her hands, taking deep breaths. "Mrs. Drake? Are you okay?" Trias asked her, walking over to her. She glanced at him. "Y-yeah... A nightmare, nothing else," she replied. "Worried about your husband?" He sat down beside her. "Unsurprisingly... I believe that he's fine, but there's just..." "That weird gut feeling that something can so easily get in the way," he finished for her. "Exactly." She nodded.

"I'd say it's better to listen to it than ignore it," Trias recommended, "wouldn't want to lose everything just because you were overconfident." "Are you talking about it in general or about your own experience?" He let out a deep sigh. "I won't force you to talk about it," she reassured him and received a thankful smile from him.

Amano then turned her attention to Cretacia, who was making her way around the room. "So, she's a sleepwalker?" she wondered. "Only when she's stressed out or angry. And because of Seth, she's both right now. It's better to leave her be as long as no one gets hurt."

The blonde stumbled over to the glass door and tripped over a house plant. She fell to the floor, waking up while still being a little drowsy and not knowing what is going on. "Oh, you little-" She jumped to her feet, holding out her scissors, and launched herself at the plant. "Seth, you little rat! This time I will make you bald!" she yelled as she was clipping off leaves of the plant.

The noise woke up both Spike and Aki. The brunette watched in horror as one of her plants was getting destroyed right in front of her eyes. Spike wrapped his arms around her soothingly.

"This is what you get for hurting my baby! And my darling! And for stealing those donuts!" Cretacia picked the flower pot up and looked like she was about to throw it through the glass when everyone finally decided to step in. "Cretacia, no!"

Hearing all four of them, Cretacia snapped out, finally fully awake. "Cretacia, could you put down my plant?" Aki asked her. "Oh-! a...sleepwalking issue." "Don't worry about it."

The blonde spun around, creating a bit of wind that moved a curtain enough for her the catch a glimpse outside, and when she did, she spotted something or rather someone. She pulled herself as close to the glass as possible without actually touching it. She could not believe her eyes.

"Am, you gotta see this!" she called out. "What did you just call me, doctor?" Amano questioned. "Just come and look!" "Okay, okay, I'm coming." She got up and made her over to the door. Once she looked out, she saw none other than her husband being dragged to the house by two Gel Jarks. "Ryu!" The others gasped as the tall woman opened the glass door and ran outside.

She hugged her husband tightly, catching him off guard. "Are you okay?" she asked him. "Y-yeah," he uttered and embraced her back, rubbing her back, "yeah, I'm fine." "You two get lost," Amano ordered the Gel Jarks, glaring at them. Weirdly enough, they obeyed, letting the two humans walk to the house by themselves.

When inside, Ryunanaka sat down on a couch, seemingly unhappy with being back. Amano closed the door and went over to him. "It's nice to see you again, doctor," Spike told Ryu with a grin on his face. "Yeah..." Ryu murmured. "What happened?" Aki wondered.

"I messed up..." he let out, turning away from the others.

Just a few minutes ago, he was still on the surface, he was free. However, as he was trapped in the past and just escaped from a literal war, he was desperate to get back to everyone, back to Amano. He was wandering through a forest when he spotted a Space Pirate pod and rushed over to it.

Once close to it, he saw Foolscap sitting in the pod, talking to Sheer who was flying beside him. This was his way back. He called out to them to wait for him as he climbed into the pod. The two pirates glared at him, but let him in.

The pod started to close when a voice sounded from the forest. "Dad! Where are you?!" Ryunanaka turned around and saw Zoe running towards the pod. "Zoe!" He gasped and was about to jump out, but the pod was already closed. "Hey, let me out!" "You had your chance," Foolscap mocked him, starting up the pod's engine, "you're staying here now."

"No!" Zoe screamed, tears streaming down her face, "don't take him away!" Ryu knocked on the pod's glass rapidly. "Please, let me out! Let me out!"

The pod raised from the ground and Ryunanaka knew that there was no way these two would have any mercy. "Zoe! It's okay! Everyone's okay! We all have faith in all of you! I'm sorry, Zoe!" he yelled out as the pod was flying away and as he watched his daughter fall to her knees, crying.

"I was an idiot for doing that..." Ryu sobbed, but then felt a hand on his shoulder. "We all would have done the same in that situation," Amano told him, "you didn't know she was there." She kissed his cheek. "We'll escape."

"Doctor, do you remember how exactly you got out?" Trias asked him. "Yeah..." Ryu nodded. "I think I can get back to that spot." "Then there is hope." "Right! And this time it'd be all of us together! They won't be able to get us!" Cretacia added in, still holding the flower pot."If we stick to our plan, which is nearly done, we'll be free in no time! I'm sure of it!" Spike exclaimed.

Trusting their plan and hoping it'll work was all they could do. Hope really dies last...

And it's done! This once again took way longer than it should have, so I'm happy it's finally finished!

So, we got a little bit of bullying of Seth, which, really, was very enjoyable honestly. Then there is the scene of Drake getting taken back onto the ship and I just had to change that; it doesn't make sense for Max to be the one to see him.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and let's hope the next one won't take so long.
