Hello, dear readers. And welcome to the newest arc of Bayley's Universe ~ Now, this is an idea I've had for an arc for some time now so I decided to finally bring it to life. And just what is this new arc? Read on to find out, my loves ~ =)
It had been a number of weeks she had regained her physical form and healed the crack in her Gem, yet Sasha still found herself getting her bearings in this strange new world. 'There's so much I've missed while I was in stasis trying to heal myself. All of this technology and the area's changed so much. I just wish there was a way I could better learn about what I've missed these many years,' Sasha thought one day as she sat in one of the chairs on the porch, her gaze on the town.
Making her way up the hill and then up the porch steps, Bayley smiled when she saw Sasha outside. "Hey, Sasha!"
"Hello, Bayley. Welcome home from school," the magenta-haired Gem said with a smile of her own. "How was your day?"
"It was good. Just another typical day," Bayley replied. "I've got a bit of homework to take care of, so I think I'll work on that soon."
"That's good," Sasha nodded as she watched Bayley head inside. Her gaze returning to the town below, the Gem couldn't help but let her thoughts drift back to where they were before. 'Every day, it's the same thing for me. I awaken from my nightly rest, I watch TV, I read through Bayley's books yet again, I eat-even though I don't exactly have to-I spend time with Seth and the others until Bayley gets home from school, I watch some more TV, I enter my nightly rest only to do more of the same the following days. If only there was some way I could-'
"Well, well, well. You seem to be thinking pretty hard about something today, Sash," a voice could be heard coming from behind the magenta-haired Gem.
Jumping in place a bit, Sasha looked around only to see that Dean had come out of the house onto the porch. A slight laugh escaping her, Sasha asked "Is it that obvious?"
"Nah, not really. Aside from the fact that you seem to be thinking pretty hard about something," Dean said with a laugh of his own as he took a seat in one of the other chairs. "Something on your mind, runt?"
"You could say that," Sasha responded after a moment's pause.
"What is it? C'mon. Why don't you tell your brother Dean about it?"
"Well, ...I've just been feeling so ...lost lately," Sasha managed to get out.
"'Lost'? How so?"
"I think it all just comes from the fact that I was in stasis so long. So much in the world has changed since I was last around, and I just feel lost. I have something in the way of knowledge of how things in the modern world work, thanks to you all telling me about these modern things. I just feel like my knowledge is lacking in a number of other areas."
Hearing Sasha talk about all of this had Dean thinking. He had always known Sasha to be pretty smart, so he could see how her not being all that knowledgeable in many areas of the modern world had her in thought as often as it did. 'Man. I wish there was something I could do to help Sasha get over this hurdle. But, ...just what can I do? Outside of shipping her off to school, I don't know how-' "That's it!"
Jumping in place at this sudden outburst, Sasha asked "What? What's 'it'? Is everything okay over there, Dean?"
"'It' is an idea that just came to me. Sasha, how would you feel about going to school?" Dean asked with a grin.
"Me go to school? Is that even possible?" Sasha asked, a wave of excitement starting to rise within her.
"Sure it is! We hadn't too long went about enrolling Bayley in school before she helped wake you up, and things went fairly smoothly there. The way I see things enrolling you should be just as easy."
"Wow. That…. That sounds great, Dean. And it would be nice to be able to engage in some more academic activities," Sasha said, a smile starting to stretch her face before it fell a bit. "But, wait. My Gem. How will I go about hiding it so that it won't get damaged?"
"Don't worry about that, Sash. I think I may have a way of hiding it so that it won't get cracked or anything like that," Dean assured the shorter Gem.
"You sure about that, Dean?" the magenta-haired Gem meekly asked.
"Of course, Sash. I'll make sure to do my best to make sure your Gem doesn't get damaged in anyway," Dean answered with a soft smile. "So, what do you say?"
"I say…. ...Yes. Yes, Dean, I'd like to go to school," Sasha nodded with a smile.
"Awesome," Dean smiled. "I'll talk with Roman and Seth about getting you enrolled in the school Bayley goes to. And just think. If this all works out, you'll be learning in no time."
As she sat and listened to Dean, Sasha couldn't help the excitement that was building within her. Soon, if everything worked out accordingly, she'd be attending school and gaining more knowledge about the world she had awoken in.
A new arc means something new happening for our favorite family of Gems. It looks like the something new here is Sasha wanting to learn more about the strange new world she was awoken in. And just how will she go about learning about this strange new world? By, at Dean's suggestion, going to school! This looks to bring about something new for our favorite magenta-haired cinnamon roll, so let's her enrollment goes well. Until next time, don't forget to R&R please. =)
