*insert one of my previous apologies for my lateness with this chapter* Now, my halfway apology out of the way, let's see how Sasha's first ever day of school starts. Read on and I hope you all enjoy, my dolls. =)
As she followed along behind Bayley and Sami, Sasha's mind wandered as she tried to calm herself down. 'Relax. It'll be okay. If Bayley was in a position like this herself, then I'm sure I'll do well myself.'
Reaching their destination, Bayley said "OK. Here we are, Sasha. Here's Mr. Regal's room."
Stepping forward as she looked in the room, Sasha was immediately greeted with the sights of other humans, many of them sitting in chairs in front of tables of some sort and talking to others in the room. 'Wow. There's quite a bit of talking going on among these humans. I wonder how I'll fit in to all of this.'
Seeing the look on Sasha's face and how she was gripping the hem of her shirt, Bayley almost said something when-
"Bayley. Sami. Good morning, you two!"
Turning in the direction, Bayley smiled and waved at the approaching ravenette. "Hey, Paige!"
"What brings you two to these parts? I didn't think your first period classes were on this hall," Paige said.
"They aren't. We're actually here to help my cousin Sasha find her way to her classes, with this being her first," Bayley said as she gestured to Sasha.
Seeing who Bayley was pointing at, Paige said "Oh yeah, I remember her from Halloween. I'm guessing she was homeschooled like you?"
"Y-Yeah, she was," Bayley answered fairly quickly. "I'm guessing me telling her about my time in school had her wanting to give it a try herself."
"Well, I'd say she picked a fine school to want to come to," Paige said with a laugh. Walking over to join Sasha, the raven-haired teen held out her hand in greeting. "Pleasure to meet you, Sasha. I'm Paige, one of Bayley's friends."
It took Sasha a few seconds to think of a greeting before she mirrored Paige's actions. "Hello, Paige. I'm Sasha, Bayley's cousin."
"How have you been liking our fine school so far?"
"It's certainly ...interesting. I've never been in a building like this before, so I'm not familiar with the things I've seen so far."
"Well, don't worry, Sasha. We'll do what we can to help you find your way around," Bayley piped up.
With a laugh, Paige said "She's right, y'know? We'll help you around. You've got nothing to worry about there."
Hearing this coming from both Bayley and her friend Paige, Sasha said "Thanks, you two."
"No problem. Now come on. Let's head inside so that we won't be late."
"Right," Sasha nodded. "Well, Bayley. I guess I'll see you and Sami later."
"OK, Sasha. I'll try to come back and meet up with you after class is over. See you then!" Bayley said with a wave before she and Sami headed for their classes.
Watching as Bayley and Sami walked away, the magenta-haired Gem stood outside of the classroom with Paige for another minute before heading inside as the bell rang a minute later to start the school day.
After finishing his writing on the dry erase board, Mr. Regal saw that Paige had entered the room, along with who he guessed was the new student in his class. "Good morning, Paige. I see you've met the new student to join us."
"Yes sir, Mr. Regal. This is Sasha, Bayley Martinez's cousin. Today's her first day of school, so I thought I'd help her with finding her way around."
"That's rather nice of you, Paige," Mr. Regal said with a smile to the raven-haired teen. Turning his gaze to Sasha, Mr. Regal said "Sasha, I'm Mr. Regal, and I'll be your History 2 teacher. I hope you enjoy your time in our class."
Nodding with a bow, Sasha said "Thank you, Mr. Regal. My name is Sasha Ambrose. I hope to have a great time in your class."
"Excellent. Now, I'd like you to take the seat beside Paige," Mr. Regal said as he gave Sasha a textbook. "And welcome to our school."
Again nodding with a bow, Sasha walked along with Paige to where her seat was. Watching the raven-haired teen take her seat, Sasha followed suit in her desk as she sat and began to listen to Mr. Regal's lecture.
'This is fairly fascinating. The way Mr. Regal has control over the class is quite impressive. And this subject matter. I guess I was still trying to heal myself in the brooch when all of this happened.'
The class period had went on a few minutes longer before the bell rang to end first period. Putting her supplies in her backpack, Sasha joined the other students as they filed out of the classroom.
"So, how'd you enjoy your first class?" Paige asked.
"I thought it was very interesting. I never knew there were such battles that took place in human history," Sasha said, her mind still reeling from the day's lesson about the French Revolution. 'That poor monarch. She was only a child given such a huge responsibility.'
"Yeah. Unfortunately, that's just how a lot of people in the past were. They just felt that war was the answer to all their problems. Shame, really."
"Yes, it ...really is," Sasha said, her thoughts beginning to drift a bit to her own past.
"So, what's your next class, Sasha?" Paige asked.
"Umm, it's ...Literature 2 with A. Copeland," Sasha replied after looking at her schedule.
"Hmm…. I don't have that class next. But, I could show you the way there, if you'd like," Paige said.
"I'd like that," Sasha nodded. Walking along through the halls with Paige, the magenta-haired Gem looked around the halls around her: In between the students that stood gathered around the odd tall metal boxes to more of who she guessed to be the school authority figures making their way through the halls, it was all a fairly amazing sight.
Looking over and seeing the look on the magenta-haired teen's face, Paige couldn't stop the light laugh that escaped her. "Well, aren't you the amazed one?"
Feeling a slight warmth start to cross her face, Sasha said "Well, this is my first ever day of formal school. I just find all of this to be a lot to take in."
"Don't worry, love. It's totally normal to react that way to something like this. You'll be fine. You're gonna have a great day. You've got this."
"Th-thank you," Sasha said with a nod. Walking along with Paige, the magenta-haired Gem took the time to make more observations about the school building's interior. The fact that it was so much bigger than the house she, Bayley, and the other Gems lived in was quite a wonder to her, and it made her feel curious about trying to explore the building at some point. 'Maybe I'll be able to do so during my Free Period.'
The walk for the two lasted only a few minutes more before they reached their destination.
"Here we are, Sasha. Mr. Copeland's classroom," Paige announced.
Doing something similar to what she did with her first class, Sasha was greeted with largely similar sights and sounds to what she experienced with Mr. Regal's room. 'It would appear the class in this room is much like Mr. Regal's. I'm hoping I'll be able to adapt to this group just as well.'
"I believe this is where we part ways. If I can, I'll try to swing back by here to help you find your next class."
"OK. Thanks for helping me find my way here, Paige," Sasha said with a smile.
"No problem. See you after class," Paige smiled before she turned and headed off for her next class.
And just like that, Sasha found herself alone to face a new class of students. Taking a breath and letting it out, Sasha walked into her next class. Taking a look around the room, she noticed that this classroom was much different from Mr. Regal's: She noticed that there were posters on the walls of different authors and a fairly large bookshelf filled with what she could tell were different books.
Looking up from the papers he was going to hand back out to the class, Mr. Copeland saw the new arrival in his class. "Good morning. You must be my new student."
"Yes. My name is Sasha Ambrose, and this is my first ever day of school. I hope to learn a lot from you."
"That's great. My name is Mr. Copeland, and I'll be your Literature 2 teacher. Here's your copy of the class textbook," Mr. Copeland introduced himself as he stood from his seat and handed the magenta-haired teen a textbook. "Now, I'd like for you to take the empty seat beside Mia. She's the girl with blue hair. And welcome to our class and our school."
Nodding with a bow as she took the book, Sasha made her way to the seat Mr. Copeland assigned her. As she made her way to her seat, she could feel gazes and looks from her new classmates as she tightened her backpack straps. 'Just relax, Sasha. I'm sure this is something that happens with all new students.'
Finally reaching her seat, Sasha sat and listened as Mr. Copeland began his lecture on what she soon learned would be a reading assignment they would have to do. There were many questions from the other students about what they would have to read, which were answered by Mr. Copeland saying "I'll have the details of the assignment written up for you all tomorrow, so feel free to spend the rest of the period talking among yourselves and thinking about what you'll want to read."
And with that, Sasha found herself sitting in a classroom that was soon abuzz with talk from the other students. From what she could make out, there was a large portion of the class that didn't seem too enthused about their coming assignment. 'I'm sure it won't be that bad of an assignment. It's probably just the human thing to do to have disapproving opinions of things like this. Now, I wonder what my next class is?'
Taking her schedule out of her backpack, the magenta-haired Gem looked at her schedule and saw that her next class was Physical Fitness with J. Moore. 'This next class sounds promising. I just wonder how to reach the room this will be held in.'
The bell soon rang, ending second period, dismissing the class. Putting her things back in her backpack, Sasha headed out of the room among the sea of other students as she looked around trying to figure out how to go about getting to her next class. She almost walked back into her previous classroom when she saw Paige heading her way.
"There you are! I was looking for you," Paige said as she reached the magenta-haired teen.
"I was doing the same for you," Sasha slightly lied.
"So, what's your next class?"
"Physical Fitness with J. Moore."
"Oh, cool. I have that class next myself. Come on, I'll show you the way there."
"Thanks, Paige," Sasha nodded with a smile. As she fell into step with the raven-haired teen, Sasha let her thoughts drift away to what her next class would hold. 'Whatever happens in my next class, I'm sure it'll go as well as my first two have.'
So, it looks like Sasha's day is off to a pretty good start, given how her first two classes have gone. And it also looks like she may possibly be making friends with Paige. So, hooray for her day going well so far! Next up, Physical Fitness and beyond for the rest of her day. How will the rest of her day go? That shall come around ...in the next chapter (that I hope won't take too long). So, until next time, don't forget to R&R please ~ And stay safe and healthy out there. =)
(Just a little thing here...If how I wrote Sasha talking in this chapter may seem weird/strange/odd, I apologize. I was just trying to get in the mindset of a Gem warrior that's been alive for many years. Hopefully, it didn't seem too bizarre for you all. ^^,)
