Greetings, dear readers, and welcome back to 'Bayley's Universe'! *insert one of my many apologies for the lateness of this chapter with the addition of me feeling birthday partied out* Last time, we saw Sasha manage to get out of her first ever confrontation with a bully. Quite the tense moment that was. What's to come for our magenta-haired cinnamon roll after that? Class, of course! Read on to see what happens next and I hope you all enjoy, my dolls. =)
"And so, class, as we've discussed, one of the key things that can really help out with setting a scene is the overall tone of the actors involved," Mr. Hardy explained. "Take what we just saw with Zelina and Damian. And say you're in a scene where you have to show a level of heartbreak and betrayal. It helps to put yourself in the mental space of the character you're portraying. Another thing that helps is to keep your scene partner's character in mind, as that will really help in bringing the scene to life."
"What about scenes where there are characters in love with each other? Would some of that apply in that case?" Liv asked.
"Great question, Liv. And yes it would. Depending on how a scene is set to unfold, it's always important to keep its tone in mind," Mr. Hardy continued with his explanation as he wrote some notes on the dry erase board. "Keep our line readings and other practice in mind, and it'll be helpful should any of you decide to give being in any plays a try."
Adding these new notes to the page she already had, Sasha copied the text up until the bell rang to dismiss the class. Packing her belongings, the magenta-haired Gem left out of the classroom among the crowd of other students.
'Class is over, and I still have a bit of time until I can meet up with Mia. I think I'll head back to the library. Maybe there's a copy of the next volume of Sailor Moon in that I can check out. It seemed like things were starting to get a bit dire for Usagi and her friends,' the magenta-haired Gem thought, her destination now in mind.
...
"And that will be all for today's lesson, class. Don't forget that you all have a test at the end of the week, so make sure to remember to study," Shayna vaguely heard her teacher tell the class. Managing to pry herself out of her desk and pack her backpack, the brunette left out of her fifth period class and began to think of ways she could kill time and spend her Free Period.
'Sucks that Lana and Nia both have classes now. I think I'd actually rather have another period of Physical Fitness right now. Anything to help pass the ti-' "Hey, watch where you're going!" the brunette snapped.
"S-Sorry, Shayna. I guess I wasn't really paying attention to where I was walking," a familiar voice could be heard saying from the floor.
Taking a breath in before letting it out, the brunette bent down to help the student she had bumped into. "You really should learn to keep an eye on your surroundings, Mimi. Can't keep walking into people, y'know?"
"Yeah, well, it's like I said I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking. I'll make sure not to do that again," Mia said after standing.
"OK, whatever," Shayna shrugged the blue-haired teen's apology off. "What even brings you to these parts anyway? I thought you would've gone and hidden somewhere else until school was over."
"Well, I-I was just going to go see a teacher of mine about a-a project I have to work on. Just want to get ahead a bit, y'know?" Mia said, wanting to be away from the older brunette.
"Yeah, yeah, that's nice," Shayna waved off before a thought from earlier came to her. "Say, Mimi. I didn't know you managed to make a friend. Good for you."
"Y-Yeah, well, I decided to try to start opening up to everyone," the blue-haired teen said, an uneasy smile starting to cross her face as she began to walk off in the direction of where she guessed Sasha might be now.
"Aww, that's nice. You'll have to maybe introduce me to your new buddies some time. I'm sure they're just as cool as you are," the older brunette said as she began to follow after Mia.
"I-I don't know. I don't think you'd like them. They're younger than you, and they're kinda dorky," Mia said as she remembered the lunchtime chatter she heard from Bayley and her other friends.
"Oh come on, that can't be true about all of them. What about your buddy that was with you when you were leaving the library during lunch? She certainly seemed rather spirited," Shayna said in spite of the slight feeling of irritation that threatened to take over her.
"Uhh, y-yeah, she sure is," Mia nervously agreed, even though she wasn't quite sure just what 'spirited' meant-''Spirited'? Why's Shayna talking about ghosts? It's nowhere near Halloween,' she thought in her confusion.
"She hasn't been mean or anything to you, has she? I'd hate to have to do anything to that girl," Shayna said, hiding her slightly trembling fist.
"What?! N-No, she hasn't!" Mia said, immediately starting to feel defensive of Sasha. "If anything, like with my other new friends, she's been helping me out with learning to open up to other people here. It's slow going, but I'm getting there."
As she stood and listened to the younger teen go on and on about the new kid, her friend-Sasha Ambrose, her name is-she could honestly say that she could care less about any of that. Even after she saw Mia walk away to …who knows or cares where really, she remembered through the blue-haired teen's seemingly endless chatter that Sasha liked going to the library. 'Maybe I'll be able to find the new kid there. I think maybe I should properly introduce myself.'
...
Combing the shelves in search of the next volume of Sailor Moon, her search was in vain, as Sasha didn't see a copy of the next volume.
'Someone else must've borrowed it. Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait until it's returned,' the magenta-haired thought with slight disappointment before turning her attention to the other manga available for checkout.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the new kid Sasha Ambrose," a familiar voice could be heard saying to Sasha's left.
Well, as it would turn out class went pretty well for everyone. And it looks like Free Period for some is off to a ...bit of a rocky start. Dang, Shayna, you just don't know when to quit, do you? Leave Mia alone, she has important stuff to do! Bummer for Sasha, she'll have to wait and see what happens next in the Sailor Moon manga. But, at least there are other series she could give consideration to reading. And, what's this? Sasha has a visitor? Who could it be? That person shall be revealed...next time (which hopefully won't be too long for me to have done and posted)! Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(As always, stay safe and healthy out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
