Chapter 2

It was just another morning at the CGS as its members got ready to start their day, the members of the Third Division were always the first one up and the last ones to go to sleep as the First Division used them as slaves to do all of the work so that they could slack off and even though Maruba Arkay kept the children illiterate so as to better control them, the kids learned quickly the tasks that were drilled into them all day every day for years as a means of survival and to avoid punishment from the adults.

Things have been a bit different as of late in the way the Third Division members have been behaving, it was not a major change that would make most of the adults notice anything aside from the adults that are actually genuinely interested in them which aside from the head mechanic Nadi Yukinojo Kassapa there was no one.

The Third Division members were completing their assigned task faster and with hardly any mistakes or noisy complaints, they are also training themselves more efficiently even when they have spare time, they all had this look of determination in their eyes if one were to look close enough but nobody knows what they are working towards not even the adults they like.

The CGS president Maruba Arkay and the First Division are not even remotely interested in what the Third Division members are doing or why as long as there are no outright acts of defiance against their authority over them, something that Chaos, Mikazuki, Orga, and the others were banking on.

This allowed them to do all of the preparation for the coup without being found out, thanks to Chaos they were able to get in contact with an engineering firm that have experience with restoring Mobile Suits so they ordered several parts for the Gundam Barbatos that was being used as a back-up generator for the base along with a team of engineers who were to tune-up the machine to battle-ready standards, they along with the parts were scheduled to arrive around a day after the initial battle according to the time table Chaos had them working off of.

Chaos had Mikazuki slip out of the base a few days after they had started things up, he made a deal with an illegal private construction company to excavate the Gundam Flauros and deliver it to the engineering firm so that they can have it restored before they had to leave Mars.

The land that it was buried on was being auctioned and was under the jurisdiction of Gjallarhorn so it was almost impossible to sneak onto it much less to dig up a mobile suit, Chaos had a solution to that problem though which was a device he built that he said would mask their movements for at least six hours so they had to work fast, nobody asked how he made such a device and he was just paying the people to dig not ask questions so at the late-night hours over fifty people with proper equipment were able to dig up Flauros in a single night.

Flauros was delivered to the designated location and the people were paid, the engineering firm started their work on restoring Flauros immediately and it was scheduled to be ready a day or two before they had to leave for Earth.

Mikazuki was currently walking through the halls of the base heading to the engine room that held the Gundam Barbatos, he had returned from his morning workout when Nadi the head mechanic asked him to look for Orga because Maruba wanted to see him immediately and Mikazuki was always the one who knows where Orga is so the task fell to him.

Mikazuki pushed open the door to the hanger area that was illuminated by floodlights pouring down from above, the Gundam Barbatos kneels on a raised platform with around twenty thick cords plugged into so that Maruba can use its twin Ahab Reactors to power the base so he can save money.

Mikazuki was always entranced with the Mobile Suit whenever he saw it and he can't wait for the opportunity to pilot Barbatos himself, and according to Chaos that might be sooner rather than later.

He shifted his gaze from the Mobile Suit to the sleeping form of his best friend Orga Itsuka.

Orga was a tall teenage boy with pale lilac hair, he had a fit muscular physique, brown skin with a scar on his left arm, he wore the cargo pants, sleeveless shirt cut low in the back so as not to cover the Alaya-Vijnana implant, jacket, and boots that all the Third Division members wear, he had a red scarf around his neck.

"Orga," Mikazuki said when he stepped close to Orga's sleeping form.

Orga's face shifted into a grimace for but a second then it relaxed, and he opened his amber-colored eyes then looked to his side to see Mikazuki giving him a small smile.

"Hey, Mika," Orga said in greeting.

"Hey yourself. You're slacking off again." Mikazuki said in response as Orga starts to get up raising himself into a sitting position with his right hand holding onto his left side. "Imagine if they find us again, we can't afford to mess up now of all times." He lightly warns Orga in a low tone of voice.

"I know," Orga responds with a firm look on his face making Mikazuki not his head satisfied.

This was a new dynamic between the two of them, no longer does Mikazuki just follow orders from Orga, and no longer does Orga feel he has to constantly prove himself to Mikazuki, they speak more now than before and they are sharing their thoughts and ideas with each other on how to lead the Third Division.

The rest of the Third Division members have caught on to the change and are now operating under the understanding that Mikazuki, and Orga are the leaders of the Third Division, it was an easy transition because most of the members of the Third Division already listen to and respect them both.

"Is he over there, Mikazuki?" The voice of Nadi carried over the entire engine room when he shouted his question to Mikazuki.

Nadi was a tall dark-skinned old man, he had a large muscular build, he wore a cream short sleeve shirt, a brace around his lower chest area, grey cargo pants, a tool belt, and gloves for his mechanic work, he had prosthetic legs that were made of metal.

"Yes," Mikazuki answered.

"What's up, old man?" Orga asked as he stand up and he can't help himself as he looks at Mikazuki noticing the slight changes in his best friend.

Mikazuki was almost as tall as Orga now, his light-skinned look was the same along with his hair and eyes, his build was more pronounced now to go with his increased height, his thick jacket fitted him perfectly now and he didn't need to roll up his sleeves anymore.

Chaos had said he would help Mikazuki but seeing is believing as they say.

"Don't ask me that. Maruba is calling." Nadi responds from the doorway to the engine room.

"The president is?" Orga shared a look with Mikazuki as he said this.

"I told you not to come in here," Nadi said in annoyance

"But it's warm here all year," Orga says lazily as he walks to the entrance.

"Gosh, this engine room is top secret," Nadi grumbles as he scratched his head.

"It starts today Mikazuki, be ready." Chaos said to him in his mind.

"Okay," Mikazuki replied in his mind as well.

"Mika, let's go," Orga called from the doorway.

"Okay," Mikazuki said and follows them out of the room.

"The Chryse Autonomous Region, we will take the representative's daughter to Earth and her escort." Maruba paused to light his cigar before speaking once more. "You, the Third Division will do it."

Orga and Biscuit were standing in the office of the President of the CGS Maruba Arkay with a confused look on their faces as they glanced at each other.

Maruba Arkay was a light-skinned old man with greying hair, he was fat from living a comfortable life, he wore a business suit without the jacket.

Biscuit was a chubby teenager with light skin, short brown hair that he usually hides under the cap he wears, he wore grey overalls with the Third Division's jacket over them.

"Is the representative's daughter Kudelia Aina Bernstein?" Biscuit asked the president.

"Do you know her, Biscuit?" Maruba asked.

"She's been involved in the independence movement." Biscuit answers.

"Her trip to Earth this time is about the Mars independence too. It's a noble thing," Maruba said as he placed down his cigar and leans back in his chair.

"But why let us do such a big job?" Orga asked keeping his suspicion out of his tone.

"The Young Miss handpicked you guys," Maruba explained.

"What?" Biscuit asked surprised.

"Whatever the case, your job is the same as always, you brats just need to listen to what we say." Haeda the First Division captain said in an arrogant tone looking at them as if they are trash.

Haeda is a tall man, with black hair, he had brown skin, he wore the First Division uniform with black gloves on his hands, he took pleasure in hurting the Third Division members whenever he feels like it aside from Mikazuki who most of the First Division is scared of.

Meanwhile, Orga and Biscuit were meeting with the president the other members of the Third Division were doing their usual drills, the younger ones were planting land mines around the base as part of routine training and the same ones who planted those mines would have to dig them back up the next day.

Mikazuki, Akihiro, Eugene, Shino, and the other older members were doing combat drills in the Mobile workers, and as of late, these drills have been more intense with all the members participating having improved their skill greatly making a quick victory much harder to secure than before, though Mikazuki is still the one that ends up dominating the fights in the end anyway.

When they were done with their drills they gathered at the outdoor area for lunch, the First Division members were on the inside area sitting down on stools and eating a healthy filling lunch meal, while the Third Division members were on the outside area under the hot sun with only a bowl of cornmeal for their lunch and the younger members serving them water as the kitchen staff doesn't bother with them much.

Mikazuki, Eugene, Shino, Orga, and Biscuit were sitting around a table having their lunch, as Orga informs them of the high-profile job they were given.

"We're going to escort the young Miss?" Eugene asked.

Eugene was a tall blond hair teenager with light skin, a fit muscular physique like most of the Third Division members.

"She must smell so nice, right Mikazuki?" Shino asked.

Shino was a tall teenage boy with short brown hair, he has a large muscular frame and lightly tanned skin from always being in the sun, he was a loud person that was always talking about having fun or girls.

"The Young Miss is human like us, so she wouldn't be any different, though depending on what beauty products she uses she could smell amazing," Mikazuki said casually making the others chuckle at his disinterest.

"Forget it, Mikazuki isn't hungry for girls," Danji said as approached the table which starts an argument with Shin

Danji is one of the younger members, average height, lightly tanned skin, brown hair.

"Takaki," Mikazuki calls out to the younger boy with blond hair, fair skin, and average height.

"Yes, water?" Takaki asked as he carried a tray with three glasses of water.

"No, that wound," Mikazuki asked as he looks at the younger boy.

"I'm fine, it always happens," Takaki said with a nervous laugh.

"You know, rather than the smooth-talking employees, the president takes note of our strength, after all, and with this, we'll overtake the employees and be the First Division," Eugene said with a smirk.

"No matter how senile old man Maruba gets, he views us as expendable, so he'll never think much of us," Orga said calmly making Eugene frown.

"Isn't it because the Third Division leader like you is this way we're still treated like this?" Eugene comments glaring at Orga.

"Stop it, Eugene." Biscuit tries to interrupt the argument.

"Shut up, Biscuit. You stay quiet, besides you…" Eugene snapped at Biscuit and was going to continue his argument when Mikazuki grabbed him by his ear forcing him to cry out in pain.

"A fight, Eugene? I don't like it." Mikazuki said in his cold tone.

"You're gonna tear it off." Eugene pleads with Mikazuki to let him go.

"This isn't a fight, right guys?" Orga said you the table.

"Of course," Eugene said hoping to be let go by Mikazuki which he was a few moments later.

Someone from the table behind Orga got up from their seat as they were finished with their lunch, this person was a tall teenage boy with short black hair, tanned skin tone, large muscular build, he wore the Third Division's jacket over a sleeveless shirt, cargo pants and boots.

His name is Akihiro Altland and he is a Human Debris individuals that have no rights anywhere, and are not regarded as people but as property.

"Sorry Akihiro, for being so rowdy," Orga says to him as makes to leave the lunch area.

"It always is," Akihiro comments walking away.

Orga just leans his head back and smirks as Akihiro walks away.

The scene was so routine for the Third Division that nobody noticed the secret notes being passed to Chad, a tall dark-skinned teenage boy with brown hair, and to Dante who is a light skinned teenage boy with reddish-brown hair, they were both Human Debris that were sitting at the table with Akihiro.

The notes had the planned instructions for what everyone was going to be doing in the coming days, and it gave them a heads up of a package that would be delivered that very night, so anyone on night duty should look out for it.

(Arbrau Territory, Chryse Autonomous Government)

"Now then Mother, I'll be going." The cultured voice of a young teenage girl says.

The girl has long golden blond hair, violet eyes, smooth fair skin, an attractive face, she was wearing a high collar red dress that reached her ankles with white gloves on her hands.

Her name was Kudelia Aina Bernstein the daughter of the representative of the Chyrse Autonomous Region and an active spokesperson for the Martian independence movement.

"Oh, Aina. You are going already?" Her Mother asked her from the small table she sat having tea in their indoor garden.

"Please make sure you are not rude to the people on Earth." Kudelia's Mother said to her.

"I thought Father was against my actions, but he has given me such an important task as the mediator with Earth," Kudelia said with her head slightly lowered.

"It's your bad habit to take things so negatively. Your father has always worried about you." Kudelia's Mother says to her with a smile.

Kudelia said her goodbyes to her mother and left the indoor garden area heading inside the large mansion.

"My Mother is just ignoring the truth, she doesn't even try to know what's going on out there," Kudelia said angrily as she walks through the mansion with her maid following behind her in silence. "I don't want that. I want to see and feel the truth." She said firmly.

"Is that why you chose them as your escorts?" Fumitan, Kudelia's maid asked as she follows the young girl.

Fumitan is a grown woman with long black hair, fair skin, wears glasses, and a maid uniform.

"Yes, these irregular child soldiers were born out of Earth Sphere's long rule, they embody the problems that currently burden Mars. By interacting with them, I hope to at least share some of their pain." Kudelia said passionately as she looks through the clear glass windows of her family's mansion.

(Gjallarhorn Martian HQ, Stationary Orbital Base, Ares)

"How beautiful youth and innocence are. The daughter of the Bernsteins, who are deeply involved with Earth, is seen as the leader of the independence movement. Isn't that ironic, Norman Bernstein?" Major Coral the commander of the Mars Branch said with a smile, he was an older man with graying hair wearing the uniform of the Mars Branch.

"Yes, she's a foolish daughter." Norman Bernstein agreed as he wipes the nervous sweat from his forehead, he is a tall older man with sandy blond hair, he wears a black business suit.

"If foolishness goes that far, it's magnificent. That is why Chyrse's…" Coral paused at this then resumed talking. "No, those scoundrels all over Mars support her. Then for her to be remembered eternally as a people's icon, we will help her." Coral finished with a cruel smirk.

"Yes, please be kind, Sir Coral." Norman Bernstein said not even looking at the man as he sentenced his daughter to death.

(Later)

"He sells out his own daughter and asks me to be kind. He's a true coward, he should learn from his daughter." Coral said as he rides the elevator.

"Yes." His subordinate said in agreement.

"But this changes that inspection from Earth into an opportunity," Coral says as he leaves the elevator and travels through the halls of the base with his subordinate following. "To receive the support of Nobliss, we need to have her do well." He finishes as he reached the mobile suit hanger.

"Orlis, the mission has been decided. You take command this time." Coral said to a trio of Graze pilots.

"Yes, sir." The tall blond man named Orlis said with an arrogant smile as he salutes.

"Crank, you support your former student," Coral said to the oldest pilot of the trio.

"Yes, sir." Crank said in response.

"Ein," Coral called.

"Yes, sir." Ein the youngest of the trio said saluting, he had black hair and was light-skinned.

"This is your first mission. Do your best." Coral said.

"Understood sir," Ein said.

(Outer space)

"But Mars, huh. As a colony, it's a planet whose resources are all used up, must a Gjallarhorn inspector be there?" A young man said from where he leaned on the chair another young man is sitting at.

"Major, the transmission from the Ariadine." One of the officers on the bridge reports.

"I've confirmed it." The Young man sitting in the chair said as he checks the data on a terminal.

The one sitting down was a tall handsome man with perfectly styled blond hair, green eyes, fair skin, he was wearing a Gjallarhorn inspector officers uniform that was a mix of black, white, gold, and different shades of blue, he wore a light blue cape over his shoulders with the seven star sigil on it, his name is Mcgillis Fareed, the heir of the Fareed family.

"Are frontier operations boring you, Gaelio?" Mcgillis asked his best friend who was resting his elbow on his chair.

The other young man was handsome as well with perfectly styled purple hair, bluish-purple eyes, fair skin, he was wearing the same uniform as that of Mcgillis with the only difference being that his cape is a darker shade of blue, his name is Gaelio Bauduin, the heir of the Bauduin family.

"As if. I will work hard as an officer of the inspection division, Specialist Major Mcgillis." Gaelio said with a smile to his best friend.

"The current economy of Earth Sphere depends upon that used-up colony," Mcgillis says as he stands from his seat to look outside at the vastness of space. "For them to continue contributing to Earth Sphere as they are now, the Mars Branch must straighten themselves up to be a part of Gjallarhorn the keepers of the world order." He finishes saying while playing with a strand of his hair.

"I sympathize with those at the branch." Gaelio comments.

"The push for independence is spreading across all of Mars, perhaps we don't have time to worry about others," Mcgillis said to Gaelio.

(CGS, Mars)

"Today we go the south route to Block D." A Third Division member said to a few others that were on patrol duty that night.

"I'm sleepy." One said.

"Let's hurry." Another said with a yawn.

Most of the adults were asleep aside from the head mechanic Nadi who with the help of Orga along with a few others were checking over the equipment that they were taking for the trip to Earth.

A few miles away from the base there were several members of the Third Division along with Mikazuki and Akihiro waiting on the arrival of a shipment that Chaos had Mikazuki order.

"Do you know what we are picking up Mikazuki?" Akihiro asked as he stood beside the other boy in the dark night.

"Not really sure, Chaos said that it was some mechanized armor that would give us an edge in the battle," Mikazuki said while taking out a mars palm to eat.

"Huh?" Akihiro said confused.

There was a shift on Mikazuki's back and a second later a black mass emerged from his back which then turned into a head with large alien eyes and a mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth.

Akihiro was proud of himself that he didn't flinch when Chaos made an appearance, unlike the last time when all the others in the room were terrified of him.

"What Mikazuki means, is that you are picking up two mechanized armor suits that are basically human-shaped mobile workers that you can control with the Alaya-Vijnana system, you will have to read the manuals for more details. And just in case you two didn't figure it out yet, you both are going to be piloting them tomorrow night." When Chaos finished talking he went back inside Mikazuki.

"Ah, that's what he said then," Mikazuki said without showing any reaction to what just happened.

"You are unbelievable," Akihiro said with a chuckle as to how easily Mikazuki adapted to sharing his body with another person.

A few minutes later a trio of trucks came up to them, two of the trucks were obviously carrying heavy equipment while the last one seems to be carrying less equipment.

The trucks stop and a few men step out of the two trucks carrying the heavy equipment, they instantly started to offload what they brought and the Third Division members snapped into work mode instantly helping them with the equipment for time was of the essence.

A man got off the last truck sent his men to work then started approaching Mikazuki.

"Here is your order, confirm." The man said in a rough voice.

"Okay," Mikazuki said coldly with a blank emotionless face and took the tablet from the man to check, and confirm everything.

Akihiro went to help the others offload the two mechanized armor suits that were separated into parts which were placed in sealed boxes to move them better.

"That was an interesting design you guys provided for our shop to work off of, the head engineer was having a blast making that. The ten others will be done in a day or two days." The man said to Mikazuki a little unnerved by the look on his face.

"A friend gave them to us for a job, everything is confirmed," Mikazuki said in the same cold tone as he passed the tablet back to the man.

"Okay then, we will see you all soon." The man said after checking everything was in order.

Everything that the trucks brought were all offloaded and already being moved into the base to a storage warehouse that nobody has used in years, the Third Division members were the ones in charge of security at night so nobody will know anything.

A few minutes later all the trucks were gone into the night as if they were never there in the first place.

"I guess this is it, Mikazuki?" Akihiro asked.

"Yes it is, Akihiro, make sure you guys are ready," Mikazuki said with a firm look.

"We will be," Akihiro said with a determined look in his eyes.
