Chapter 3

"What an honor, I have always admired your noble purposes Miss Kudelia," Maruba said from one of the seats in his office with the First Division captain behind him.

Sitting across from him was Kudelia Aina Bernstein and her maid Fumitan Admoss.

There was a knock on the office door.

"Come in," Maruba said.

In quick order four people stepped into the office and immediately lined up with their hands behind their back, shoulders straight and their heads held high.

The four people that came in were; Orga, Mikazuki, Biscuit, and Eugene.

"Orga Itsuka and three others from the Third Division reporting in," Orga announced once they were all standing at attention.

"Yes, these are the boys that will be escorting you…" Maruba was saying until he trailed off as Kudelia got up to approach the teenage boys that just walked in.

"Nice to meet you, I am Kudelia Aina Bernstein." Kudelia greeted the boys warmly with a smile.

There was no response from the boys for a few moments before the silence was broken.

"Yeah." Orga said quietly.

"Hey there, I…" Eugene said lamely.

Biscuit said nothing and Mikazuki was as stoic as always.

Their reactions to be genuinely greeted by a beautiful young lady was hilarious to Chaos who was laughing in Mikazuki's head making said boy feel irritated.

"Can't you even greet someone properly?" Haeda shouts at them.

"Unbelievable, now about the plans from now…" Maruba started to talk again but was once again interrupted by Kudelia.

"You." Kudelia said to Mikazuki when she saw him stare off into the corner of the room in disinterest. "What is your name?" She asked him.

"I am Mikazuki Augus." Mikazuki answered.

"Can you show me around, Mikazuki?" Kudelia asked.

"Huh?" Mikazuki said surprised.

"What?" Maruba said surprised as well.

"Fumitan, I will leave this up to you," Kudelia told her maid.

"Understood," Fumitan said with a small nod.

"Okay, Mikazuki." Kudelia had her hand out as she said this expecting a handshake.

Mikazuki looked at her hand and knew what one should do in this situation, but since his hands were dirty he didn't shake her hand so that he wouldn't dirty her white gloves."This way." He said walking away from the room.

"Oh, hold on…" Kudelia said in surprise as she tried to catch up with Mikazuki.

Mikazuki took her around the base for a while showing her all the areas of interest that were there.

"And behind this is the engine room," Mikazuki said as they walk through the halls of the base.

"Excuse me," Kudelia said but was ignored as Mikazuki kept talking.

"We have our own Ahab Reactor." Mikazuki said continuing his tour before he halts at her voice.

"Wait!" Kudelia said as she runs to catch up to him stopping slightly to catch her breath. "Excuse me, a handshake." She stretched out her hand again only to stop and pull off her glove before putting her hand forward again with a smile. "Let's shake hands."

Mikazuki sighed then looks at his oil stained hand and then back at Kudelia that seems to realize he won't shake her hand.

"Why not? I just wanted to be on equal terms with you." Kudelia said with a frown.

"I declined because my hands are dirty." Mikazuki said while showing her his hand covered in an oil stain, he saw her cheeks flush red with embarrassment.

"I just…" Kudelia started to say with her head down but she was cut off by Mikazuki.

"But that means we're not on equal terms to begin with, right?" Mikazuki comments before turning around and walking away.

Kudelia stood there shocked by what Mikazuki had said to her, she had never thought of it the way Mikazuki had viewed her kind gesture as her reminding him that they were not equals.

(Several hours later)

It was now late night around the base was a tranquil silence, with the cold Martian wind blowing through the night.

"You can't sleep, Orga?" Biscuit asked as he walked up to Orga.

"You too, Biscuit, it's too suspicious," Orga said as he sits near one of the ramps on the base with a lantern providing light.

"Indeed. She herself is only a bit naive girl," Biscuit comments as he stands beside Orga."But her birth and status are real, she's so important even Gjallarhorn could directly act. Then why choose our small company?" Biscuit said with a sigh not understanding her choice.

"In any case, we have no choice. Even if it is a trap, we'll crush them, trap and all." Orga said with a smirk.

Mikazuki was jogging near the outskirts of the base when he halted suddenly.

"There are two snipers around a few hundred feet from your position. Let's change so I can take them out now, then you can tell the others to sound the alarm." Chaos said to Mikazuki from his shoulder where he chose to emerge.

"Ok." That was all Mikazuki said before he transformed.

Chaos emerged covering Mikazuki fully as he stood up in his true form, that was a nine feet tall humanoid being with rippling thick muscles and savage deadly claws, and teeth.

Chaos soared across the terrain running at breakneck speeds stopping for nothing as he leaped over any obstacles in his path, his pure black skin made him practically invisible on a dark night so the two snipers did not see his approach until he was right on top of them.

They didn't even have time to scream before Chaos tore them apart and ate their upper bodies including their heads, he had not had time to eat on any brains or chocolate while he was here so he made sure to not use most of his abilities but he was satisfied for now.

The information he got from the snipers was good as well, they now had an accurate assessment of the enemy forces along with the fact that they had three mobile suits called Graze that Gjallarhorn primarily uses.

They made it back to base quickly and they changed back quickly, Mikazuki got on the radio to warn everyone of the enemy attack and to send up the flares to wake up the base.

Once that was done he switched to the private channel they all decided upon in case they needed to communicate but they were too far from each other.

Mikazuki gave the orders to have everything prepped and ready for him, and Akihiro along with instructions for what Biscuit should do if the First Division does what we all expect they will do, a few of the boys were to start heading down to the engine room as soon as things heat up to help Nadi with work on Barbatos.

Mikazuki ran into Akihiro on his way to the warehouse and they both stopped to attach the adapters that Akihiro had brought with him because Mikazuki didn't have time to go get them himself, with that dine they made way to the warehouse.

Mikazuki and Akihiro walked into the old warehouse with their shirts off and the adapter for their Alaya-Vijnana already on their backs, they saw a few of the Third Division members that were picked for the task of assembling the equipment that the two pilots were going to be using.

They couldn't use Nadi because he still works for Maruba and they can't risk his split loyalties at the moment, plus they needed him and Yamagi to get the Gundam Barbatos ready for Mikazuki to pilot when the enemy decides to use their mobile suits.

Mikazuki and Akihiro looked at the completed mechanized armor suits with awe in their eyes.

The mechanized armor suits were four meters tall with a humanoid appearance, it's armor was colored black, crimson red for the shoulder, wrist, elbow, knee, and ankle armor, the mechanized armor suits were armed with a large waraxe made of the metal normally used for mobile suit weapons, the suits had thrusters on it for high-mobility movements along with something Chaos called the Landspinner Propulsion System that allowed the mechanized armor suits to move much faster than mobile workers on land.

The firearms that the mechanized armor suits were going to used were built by Chaos with the parts he had delivered with the suits last night, he said they were based on the guns Flauros uses but on a much smaller scale with a lot less power, though it was more than powerful enough to penetrate the armor of mobile workers from eight hundred meters away and at close range it can tear through several mobile workers before the bullets stop.

It also has the capability to pierce the Nanolaminate armor that covers the cockpit area of a mobile suit at point-blank range.

Chaos called them railguns and that they should not advertise that they have these weapons.

"Is everything ready for us?" Mikazuki asked as he walks closer to armor suits.

"Yes, Mr. Mikazuki. They are all ready," one of the boys working on the armored suits said while giving Mikazuki a nod of respect.

Mikazuki resisted the urge to sigh for these situations were becoming more common with most of the Third Division members calling 'Mr. Mikazuki' due to him taking a more active leadership role.

"Well thanks," Mikazuki said then he turned his head to Akihiro. "You did read the manuals right?" Mikazuki asked.

"Of course," Akihiro said with a scoff.

"Good." Mikazuki said.

The two pilots approach the two mechanized armor suits and there was a hiss before the suits open up revealing the inside of the suit, the suits were opened up from the front wide enough for them to simply climb in without issue.

Once they were inside the suit the Alaya-Vijnana system connected to the port in the suit, the rush of information when they were connected was immediate but not surprising as they were informed several times of what would happen, Mikazuki regained his bearings first with Akihiro a few moments behind him.

The armor started to close up as soon as the connection was fully operational and within moments the two were encased in the suits, the visual sensors came to life and it felt like they were looking through a larger set of eyes that still felt natural thanks to the Alaya-Vijnana system, the name that was displayed on HUD for the suits were 'MA-Paladin' followed by the model number.

They tested their movements for at least a minute to make sure everything was fine, they took up the waraxes strapping them to their backs then they picked up the railguns connecting them to the armor suits energy packs that were housed on the machine's back covered in heavy armor.

"Everything is ok, you guys go help the others we got it from here," Mikazuki said over the comms.

"Yes, sir." The boys that were in the warehouse all saluted him before running out to assist the others.

"They aren't going to stop doing that are they?" Akihiro asked with a laugh through the comms.

"It's going to stay that way but I will have to get used to it, as long as we are in the position for them to look up to and I'm sure that the other members who are Human Debris look up to you the same way," Mikazuki said calmly as he checks out the system along with the situation outside.

"Hmph." Akihiro grunts.

A few minutes later both pilots were racing through the base heading to the battlefield using their landspinners.

The enemy that was identified to be Gjallarhorn has decided to do a full bombardment of the base with their missiles, the entire north section of the base was under fire, all the metal barricades further from the base that the mobile workers could use as shields were being destroyed by the bombardment, a large cloud of dust was obscuring the view from the base which the enemy used to send their mobile worker forces forward.

"Shino lay smoke cover for me and Akihiro, were getting up close and personal as soon as we kill their long-range bombardment," Mikazuki ordered over the comms.

"You got it, Mikazuki!" Shino replied from his mobile worker.

A few seconds later all the Third Division mobile workers on the battlefield shot a few smoke missiles into the center of the enemy advancing forces, the smoke covered most of the battlefield in minutes making visibility practically zero for those inside the smoke.

Mikazuki and Akihiro immediately got to work; they stopped at the edge of the base and took aim with their railguns, once they acquired their targets which were the mobile workers in the very back that were constantly shooting missiles and the white mobile worker that served as the command center for all the mobile workers on the field.

Mikazuki fired first taking out the command center in a single shot that was so fast that nobody saw the bullet only the aftermath, while the enemy was trying to figure out what happened he and Akihiro took turns shooting the intended targets, and in less than a minute the enemy's bombardment was silent.

"You guys pull back and resupply, me and Mikazuki got this," Akihiro said to Shino over the comms.

"Thanks, Akihiro!" Shino replied.

Mikazuki drew the large waraxe off his back with Akihiro following suit, they then quickly shot off into the large cloud of smoke that took up most of the battlefield, they switched their sensors to thermal due to the smoke and they both wore savage grins as they close in on the enemy.

The Gjallarhorn mobile workers had no defense against the two beasts that they suddenly found amongst themselves; there would be a metal sound then the next moment that person was dead, there would be a blip on the sensors but it was too late to stop the blade that carved through the armor to end the pilot's life.

Mikazuki was dancing around the battlefield shrouded in thick smoke with a savage grin as he slaughters the enemy at close range, the Paladin responded perfectly to his every thought better than the mobile workers ever did and the fact that it was humanoid made it much easier to fight with, he just somersaults over two enemy mobile workers to land behind them and then cut them down instantly with the waraxe.

Akihiro was having a similar experience with the Paladin suit, he was less graceful than Mikazuki with his movements but his savage brute force paired with the heavy waraxe made short work of the mobile workers he faced.

The screams of terror and pain from the Gjallarhorn men that were being slaughtered in the smoke were ringing through the communication systems of the enemy with random orders being thrown around.

The two pilots were killing the enemy for a while before several flares lit up the night sky coming from the back area of the base.

"Orga, are those for the First Division," Mikazuki asked over the comms.

"Yeah, I thought that they owed us," Orga responded and even though he couldn't see his face Mikazuki knew Orga was smirking.

"Hey Mikazuki, the enemy is moving," Akihiro said to him from his Paladin.

Sure enough, when Mikazuki looked with his sensors most of the remaining mobile workers were going for the fleeing First Division members, there were hardly two dozen mobile workers on their side of the battlefield which could only mean one thing.

The enemy was going to use their mobile suits.

"Akihiro, we're falling back to base while we can, you get resupplied and act as my support for when I get Barbatos from the old man," Mikazuki said to Akihiro as he starts speeding towards the base.

"Okay," Akihiro said as he follows behind him.

The two pilots reach the base quickly and as soon as they reached the warehouse there were a few of the boys that were originally there before that started to exchange the energy packs for both Paladin suits.

Mikazuki got out of his unit along with Akihiro doing the same, they were offered bottles of water that they took and drank like they were dying of thirst.

Piloting the Paladin without a pilot suit to absorb all the G-force was tiring and it is only due to a combination of the Alaya-Vijnana system along with their physical strength that made it possible for the two of them to operate it that long.

Mikazuki had no time to rest for as soon as he caught his breath he was out the door heading to the engine room where Nadi was working on Barbatos.

When Mikazuki reached the engine room the place was abuzz with activity from all the people working on Barbatos, Nadi was shouting orders to Yamagi and the others who were on the engineering team to get everything double-checked so the mobile suit can be deployed.

Mikazuki saw that Kudelia was in the room looking really out of place among all the trained personnel that were all working, he nodded to her in greeting.

"Old Man, are you ready for me?" Mikazuki asked as he stepped into the room maneuvering around all the people running around.

"Ah Mikazuki, we got almost everything ready we are just finishing the refueling of the propellant, the mobile worker cockpit is already installed so all that is left is for you to connect up to the Alaya-Vijnana interface," Nadi said to him from where he was near the cockpit of the mobile suit.

Mikazuki headed to the mobile suit cockpit area and got inside, Nadi quickly got to work while Mikazuki read the data on a tablet Nadi handed to him, a several minutes later everything was ready for the Barbatos to start up.

"That's good, how is it?" Nadi asked Mikazuki as he adjusted to the cockpit and controls.

"It's fine," Mikazuki said after moving around a bit.

"I'm going start it up," Nadi said before he started up the mobile suit.

Gundam frame type: BARBATOS ASW-G-08.

Mikazuki looked at the words displayed on the screen that was the model and name of the mobile suit, a few seconds later his mind was flooded with a massive amount of data but before it could overwhelm him the flow of data became far more manageable, he didn't have to ask to know that it was Chaos that helped him.

The boot sequence was completed so Mikazuki started to familiarize himself with the controls and the system.

"Old man, are you ready? We can't hold out against their mobile suits by ourselves, they are joining the fight now." Biscuit said from where he stood beside Kudelia, he had just come from outside.

Nadi held up a hand for him to wait then he turned to Mikazuki. "Are you alright, Mikazuki?" Nadi asked him.

"Yes, so let's hurry," Mikazuki said as he continues to interact with the suit's system.

"Whatever you like," Nadi says walking away as the cockpit closed up. "He says he can go. Yamagi lift it up." He orders as he moves off the raised platform he was on.

"Yes," Yamagi said and started lifting Barbatos to a standing position.

"Yamagi, get him out from number 3." Biscuit orders.

"But the exit is blocked there." Yamagi argues.

"It's the closest to the battlefield." Biscuit said firmly.

"Start retinal projection." Mikazuki said and the visual sensors came to life making him see the world through the mobile suit's eyes.

"Can he win?" Kudelia asked Biscuit as she stares at Barbatos.

"Who knows? We can only fight back so that we won't lose." Biscuit said with a determined look in his eyes as he stares at Barbatos.

Back on the battlefield things were changing with the fact that the Gjallarhorn mobile suits were going to actively participate now, the smoke hasn't been cleared up as of yet making it so that the Third Division members mobile workers won't be shot by the enemy artillery fire.

Orga had ordered the mobile worker teams to keep the enemy mobile workers from retreating our of the smokescreen, they were to disable them and not kill them so that the mobile suits won't fire for risk of killing their own comrades.

This was only to buy time for Mikazuki to get his mobile suit on the battlefield to level the playing field.

Akihiro has already finished getting resupplied and is on standby to support Mikazuki with his railgun, they can't pierce Nanolaminate armor unless at very close range unless they are using Nanolaminate shells, the blunt force that the bullets carry can still slightly hinder a mobile suit even if they are not at close range.

"Orga, Mikazuki is coming up now from number 3," Biscuit said over the comms.

"Roger that, Biscuit," Orga responded over comms.

"Everyone pull back, Mikazuki is coming, clear the battlefield!" Orga orders all the mobile workers to fall back to base.

The Third Division mobile workers started pulling back off the battlefield quickly and so did the enemy mobile workers that could still move.

A few minutes later three green Gjallarhorn mobile suits landed on the battlefield and then one of them started to fire at the Third Division mobile workers that were still retreating.

An explosion halted the attack and out of the dust cloud that the explosion kicked up came the form of the Gundam Barbatos with a large mace in its hand.

"What the hell?!" Orlis shouted from his Graze.

"Nobody said that they had a mobile suit!" Ein said in shock.

"Do not lose your cool Ein!" Crank said to his subordinate.

"Akihiro get ready," Mikazuki said from inside Barbatos before he launched himself at the enemy mobile suits.

"Just don't make me shoot you," Akihiro warms as he starts charging up the railgun and takes aim.

Mikazuki closed in on the first Graze that was closest to him, his attack pattern was straightforward and completely predictable as he rushed the enemy mobile suit in a straight line.

"Amateur, you don't even know how to pilot!" Orlis said with a sneer as he launched himself at Mikazuki intent on killing him easily as he can clearly see that Mikazuki's mobile suit is a very old model.

The two mobile suits reach near each other kicking up dust as their thrusters fire speeding them forward obscuring their forms, the graze is suddenly hit on the shoulder by a powerful impact that while it didn't penetrate the armor it was enough to throw off the Graze's balance.

This proved fatal because Mikazuki used the opening to thrust his mace into the enemy crushing the cockpit area sending the Graze crashing into the ground, the blunt force of the attack ended up killing the pilot inside instantly.

A dust cloud rose from where the attack happened but it soon cleared up to reveal Mikazuki as he pulled the tip of the mace out of the chest of the downed Graze and he turns to the other two mobile suits that seem to be in shock at what just happened.

"It can't be… Captain Orlis has.." Ein said with a shaken voice still in shock.

"Orlis." Crank said lowly before he fires his thrusters heading to engage Barbatos. "Ein, back me up." He said charging forward.

"Yes, sir," Ein responded eagerly.

Crank sped towards Mikazuki while Ein got in position behind him to provide long-range support since Barbatos only had a mace, Mikazuki quickly assessed the enemy then fired his thrusters and sent Barbatos flying in the direction of the enemy's retreating mobile worker forces.

Barbatos landed with a crash into the group of mobile workers killing quite a few of them instantly, the enemy shouted at him that he was a coward for attacking mobile workers which only irritated Mikazuki because they were the ones that did it first.

Ein fired his thrusters heading for Barbatos with his weapon that was an axe drawn forward to use instead of his rifle.

Mikazuki lowered Barbatos slightly so that the thrusters would kick up more dust as he rushed the enemy, he threw his mace at the enemy and jumped into the air with the aid of his thrusters grabbing his mace that the enemy deflected into the air.

Ein had lost track of the enemy mobile suit after blocking the mace that they threw at him, he looked around and opened his Graze's helmet to reveal its battlefield scanner so he can find the enemy mobile suit.

Akihiro smiles a savage smile when he saw the Graze open its helmet revealing the battlefield scanner that was not made of Nanolaminate armor which was his target, he fired the railgun at full power releasing a powerful surge from the gun barrel and the shell flew through the air leaving a white, blue, and red trail behind it which is cut off as it slams into the battlefield scanner instantly destroying it.

Mikazuki saw it happen and swung his mace down with savage intent caving in the chest of the Graze, crushing the pilot in his cockpit killing him without hesitation.

When Barbatos landed the impact send dust flying around it and out of the dust cloud came the final Graze, it swung its axe down which Mikazuki blocked with the mace, their weapons were pressed up against each other as they both tried to overpower the other.

"You bastard! You killed my students! I will kill and avenge them!" Crank shouted over the comms.

"Well that won't happen and you guys killed my friends too, so I will kill you for them!" Mikazuki said darkly to the man from inside Barbatos.

"That voice… Could it be that you are a child?" Crank asked horrified at the revelation.

"You bet. So are all you've killed… and the ones… who will kill you all." Mikazuki said as he started to overpower the enemy Graze with Barbatos.

Mikazuki gained the upper hand pushing the Graze's axe back on its body, he then fired his thrusters and sent them both flying into a large boulder near the battlefield stunning the enemy pilot and before the man could recover Mikazuki drove the mace into the cockpit area crushing him.

Mikazuki pulled the mace back then raised it into the air before declaring their victory over his speakers making all of the Third Division members roar in victory as well.

This was the start of Tekkadan and their future.
